Best rom and camera app for photography - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello i want to convert my Mi Note 10 lite to a excellent camera cellphone because I need to take photos that capture the lighting and the details of the products that I am going to sell very well, the videos do not shake and I have autofocus when I shoot, sometimes I move the product away and it is blurred because it does not focus on the product.
Which room and wich gcam with config?
I will be eternally grateful if anyone helps me with this

I put together a couple low light camera comparisons. The only editing done to the original photos was cropping to get things to line up as well as I could.
First, Essential stock camera app (NMI81C) vs Essential with Google Camera port: here
Second, Essential with Google Camera port vs Nexus 6 with Stock Google Camera: here

Should be fixed now. Moved the images to imgur because Google Photos is dumb (for sharing individual images).

Thx... Looks great.
Seems like the Nexus port is the best solution
really like the slider in the sample pictures! great idea. so google camera port is the way to go.
Question: Can you also take shot in 16:9 instead of 4:3
All current media viewers like any phone or TV set is 16:9 so i prefer to shoot in that screen dimension
Essential Phone camera experience is still a mixed bag. Regular pics using stock Essential app range from very good to poor depending on lighting. Much better with Google cam port but still not as good as most current flagships or even some older phones like Nexus 6P/ 5x, original Pixel or OnePlus 3T. Using the monochrome camera on this phone is a completely different story. Black and White pics look outstanding with great detail.
Trying out portrait mode for the first time today. Not too bad, I think.

That's a really good picture I think. I only have issues in low light.
Here is one of mine. Harsh mid day light as well.

Photo Taken Today with my Essential Phone, I really can't see what people are complaining about regarding the camera ? it's great. For the price the phone is selling for the Essential Phone is a complete and perfect package.

that is because you didn't make a real low light photo without flash! the Google cam mod is a must! way better algorithms to fix the pixelation in low light photos!

For a real low light photo I'd be using a proper camera and not rely on a phone to take the photo. I have the Mate 10 and even that with its brilliant camera I don't use in real low light conditions so either way I took this photo in a pitch black room with the Essential Phone using its camera and I can't see any pixellation anywhere

If you don't understand why don't you go back to the first page and look at the link with the direct comparison of the exact same shot essential camera vs gcamera. It shows the very clear reason why it's worth while.

I actually find that the stock app normally performs much better than GCam in mid-low light. I use GCam only in the sun.
GCam tends to try to bring out way too much detail in the image, resulting in a picture that just looks like a grainy mess.

Agreed, I find the stock camera is taking better shots than any of the Google camera apk's I've tried. Granted, most of my testing has been indoors.
How does the camera quality on snapchat look?

I'll be honest, it's pretty bad, frequently off focus, poor low light, lack of stabilization, but maybe fine for the price range I guess
Redmi Note 5 is probably the better choice for photo quality
Nonetheless, I think updates might help. At least I hope

In daylight conditions pictures turns out good with good focus , saturation levels etc. But color reproduction needs work and in low light conditions noise is quite apparent. Portrait is like 7/10. Selfies turn out good after the recent update, 8.5/10.
P.S. For stabilized videos I use nokia camera app and its upto the mark .
Low-light picture quality is abominable. Zoom tears images, there is a lot of noise. Images in daylight are pretty decent. For this price range, the camera quality is justifiable (I suppose). I have a Moto G4 Plus and it takes amazing photos compared to this device. If you remove the portrait mode, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 has nothing over the Moto G4 Plus camera.
Hope to see changes in future updates.
Yes, pretty disappointed with the camera performance. I should have got the RN5 instead but since I already got this, I'll stick with it as taking pictures is not the main thing for me on this phone. Still, the quality is far off from the various paid reviews.
Is it better with Google Camera , anyboby ? Thanks

For sure Gcam pics are better. I have been using it from past one week and will sure never turn back to stock camera.
Moreover with Gcam you also get additional features like panorama , ar stickers and google lense.
Can anyone show the photo quality difference with gcam and the stock one?

dude pls give me the apk for it ..i am unable to find it and does ur g cam have slow motion and other ****..
It's quite bad with the built-in camera app , but it's quite acceptable with some manual camera apps and especially in HDR mode
I am yet to purchase the phone. I have seen lot of camera comparison with Redmi note 5 pro on YouTube but still confused. I am planning to use Lineage os if I buy the device.
Can anyone please tell me how is the picture quality taken with gcam mod on 6gb ram model with Redmi note 5 pro?

Is photo quality better than redmi note 5 pro if I use google camera on zenfone max pro m1?
Don't know but it is definitely better than the original Asus camera app
Earlier the photos taken from Asus were not that great as that of redmi note 5pro, but now with Google cam installed these are now coming extra ordinary, thanks for the team made possible without rooting the phone.

I installed Google camera after enabling api through fastboot but not much big effect is seen from Snapdragon camera
For example I did portrait mode on Google camera but it takes much time than Snapdragon camera and also showing images of low resolution and small megapixel (my camera support 16 MP but it showed images from 8 MP and allow motion is not working and hdr+enhanced is allowed but not working, the camera got stuck every time it is turned on
Okay at well lit conditions, not good at low light
During daylight, the rear camera photos are good.
But the phone doesn't focus properly on close objects.
The low light camera is bad. A lot of noise, less light detection, slow focus, etc.
The video quality (1080p) during day is good. But the device takes time to focus during a video recording.

Camera favour to ask, will give £5 amazon voucher

Hi all,
I'm really keen to buy the Oppo Reno 10x zoom but it's a big investment. I have a huawei mate 10 with a disappointing camera, I want to make sure the camera is decent this time.
If there are up to 3 people able to get a few specific kind of photos /videos (stock and with gcam) I'll happily send a £5 amazon voucher by their email a giftcard system as thanks.
Please could you get (no need for the zoom or wide lense in these pics)
1. A, few photos on the main camera, in the day with stock and gcam. Then again in evening where its not dark (no nightmode) but just not as bright.
2. Same again but with something moving (I have dogs which are hard to photo with my huawei mate 10 in any detail) e.g. dogs or people
3. Gcam and regular main cam on portrait but on the main rear camera of some random objects
4. A few Videos on the rear cam of something moving with stock and gcam in good and average light (not night).
5. I would really like to get slow motion vids of my dogs so ideally some 240fps 1080p videos in the day and slightly darker of something moving that would be great. I don't think gcam slow motion works yet.
I know it's a big ask but hopefully an amazon voucher compensates for this. I'm not sure where to upload the videos / pics without them degrading but maybe cloud storage somehow?
Thanks
Mike

Kind of you to offer but because of the lack of response and little info elsewhere, I bought a s10. Knew the camera would be good, even if it's got an annoying notch on the screen.
Thanks

Oh thats fine, anyways Oppo camera is also good but it has its drawbacks, mainly 5x zoom you wont be using much and anything below 5x is purely digital.
Night mode is not that impressive compared to the counterparts, and overall the weight of the mobile is also heavy.
As, in India the price is around 560 USD I went for this mobile.

How to improve photo quality of Poco!?

Hello guys, I am a POCO user running on 9.0 ROM. I have tried many Google Cameras and also the ANX camera, but camera quality just sucks.
I mean Google Camera clicks very good pictures in real lighting condition, but sucks in low light. Even if it click good photos in real light photos, the background and face looks almost same. For example, Oneplus, Apple and all other phones make face look vivid or atleast different from the background but in Gcam the background looks better than the face and it doesn't even beautify the face at all. iPhone, Oneplus, Samsung all manipulates the face to make it better but GCAM sucks at this.
About ANX it is not stable. It randomly closes and even it does not deliver good photos...
I posted it on telegram but no one replied. Is that no one has got a life or everyone is using stock rom lloll
We can get sharper pictures with google camera as compared to stock MIUI camera. I really like the ported google camera for poco f1 in terms of picture quality.
If you really concerned to selfies with beauty mode to distiguish you from the background, I would suggest you to download third party camera apk like b612 or similar.
B612is cringe. By selfie and beauty mode, samsung's stock, oneplus' stock and every phone has beauty mode. Some show like OPPO vivo but some don't.. Poco's camera is outstanding but not having face enhancement feature sucks. You can't distinguish between object and background... Gcam fails in this

Question How to get steady Photos?

Hi, Xiaomi Mi 11 lite 5g does not come with Optical Image Stabilization, I thought its not big deal when buying it, but most of my photos have blurry details because of my "shaking" hands.
Is there any workaround to stabilize photo image (similarly like video option "Steady Video")?
What to say about a nice simple tripod.
Many pros use a tripod for top photography with their smartphone ... and what works for pros certainly works for laymen.
