Question Car holder folded/unfolded ... - Oppo Find N

Hello all, i wait the delivery of my Find N.
I've already buy tempered glass for outside screen and 'capteurs in french' photos at back.
Now i search a car holder that work fold and unfold in Mercedes CLA (air vent in circles), have you purchase links ?
I search also (in french 'housse') for have my phone attached at my belt.
Thanks for you help.

Nobody can help me because i search for this 2 accessoires but now ... nothing very good.

This car mount looks pretty good?

Interesting but 3 fails :
- Not work with Find N because in the video, Samsung Fold unfolded in vertical position don't work because not fix ... too narrow for grip phone ;-(
- Not work with air vent in circle from my Mercedes Cla :-(
- Find N folded impossible.
Here in Belgium after 1 march 2022, it's not ok to keep a phone in the car without holder and i must pay 'duties-tax' at police man ... sorry for my english.

The video has the fold attched in horizontal not vertical; but I believe the dock is adjustable anyhow for width, so can accomodate most phones. It might even do the Find N folded, though probably would have to ve horizontal. You're correct though, it doesn't work from the air vent, but from a suction cup on the dash.

I've got this holder with my Find N...there's good and bad....
Good, it will fit and hold the phone folded or unfolded...
Now the bad part...the wireless charging does not work...The Oppo's wireless charging receiver seems to be towards the lower part of the phone...because of that...I've noticed alot of wireless chargers does not work with the phone...you'd end up having to raise it 2 or 3cm to get the wireless charging going...And it's very sensitive, so sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't...

Thanks for your review !
I search the perfect holder but seem not yet exist ;-)

Looking for a recommendation for a good car holder for a car with stiff suspension

I am looking for purchase a car mount/holder for my car. However, as i drive a sports car the suspension is very stiff and therefore I need something that will cope with a very bumpy ride (some of the UK's roads are terrible at the moment!). I also use hire cars frequently, so I need something that is interchangeable between vehicles and therefore can't go for one of the brodit models that is specific to my vehicle.
I received a PDA model specific, European made, heavy duty PDA holder for the HTC Touch HD, by Herbert Richter (http://www.pdahut.com/store/product.php?productid=21157&cat=2385&page=1), but this vibrates quite badly so it will be going back.
Therefore, does anyone have any suggestions for a very sturdy car holder that is transferrable between vehicles that will cope with the rigours of a GTi's very firm suspension?
Thank you, in advance, for your help.
Spudgun
My suggestion ...
I drive a 4 wheel drive car (Renault Scenic xR4) because i like to drive through easy mountain tracks from time to time and that's the combination i have. Probably it's not the best solution but i assure you my HD neve falled down and no matter about vibrations. Also, even when it's not the easiest, you can change from one car to another (i do by myself when taking my wife's car).
It's for placing into an air vent of your car.
Rgds,
Thank you very much for your suggestion
How easy is it to transfer between cars? as i had a really bad experience with one of these once and broke the air vent grille of a hire car trying to remove it

Hummmmmmmmmm ...
Difficult to say, but i never broke it and never broke any grille. ¿Perhaps i did 20 times? For me it's easy to remove it but ...
Rgds,
Get one of those suction cup things from ebay. It's decent quality. The only thing I needed to do to make it work well in the Miata is add some cushion on the bottom so I can rest it against the dash and prevent it from jumping up and down. They move from car to car easily.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Windshield-...34.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301:0|293:1|294:30
good sturdy support!
I am going to recommend you get a Herbert Richter Gorilla Mount coupled with a custom H.R passive holder.
It's a bit more costly than most other options, but does the best job! Since you can use interchangeable holders on the gorilla mount (eg. if you get a new phone, or a second device) it's a great cost effective option than the non-branded flimsy options normally purchased.
Despite what you may think, it does look 'great' on the windscreen!!
Regards,
- RazzyUK.
Spud_work,
I purchased mine aboyut three months ago, its discreet and completely supports the phone wihtout blocking half of the windscreen

Hope this is of use.

I bought the one pictured below (12 Euros on ebay). Here is my opinion (of course I drive normal streets - I can't say how it does on extremely bumpy terrain).
The suction cup sticks really well to the glass (assuming both surfaces are clean, of course). At first, I was scared that the whole thing would loosen up and fall off, and so I kept checking it constantly, but it holds totally firm. Even when I go to take it off and I release the suction-lock lever, the remaining suction is still really strong.
The tray that holds the actual phone fits the HD well, and all buttons and ports are clearly accessible. I wish the phone would fit just a little tighter in the tray, but it is still fine. I never worried that it would "fall out" or anything like that. I suppose it's also good that it is not so tight that it could scratch the HD when sliding it in and out. The tray can also be easily removed and re-attached to the arm. Oh - and of course, the HD will NOT fit if you have any protective case around it (such as the silicone or hard plastic covers).
The "arm" part is easily bent and adjusted at the two joints, so you can set the HD at whatever angle you want in any direction. Once set to whatever angle, it will not loosen or bend on its own.
All-in-all, I'm very pleased with this so far and I would definitely recommend it. The user reviews I read for it on Amazon do so likewise.
I hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hi Chris Cross
As I am also in the market for a mount to use with my Touch HD could you just answer a few questions about this mount which you have:
1. is it fairly compact as the last thing i need is a mount that's in my face and completely overpowering the HD
2. are you still happy recommending it
3. is it easily changed between landscape and portrait modes
4. any chance of a link for it
Thanks for your help

Hey guys,
got my Herbert Richter Gorilla Mount today (it's actually the Banana Global 1 with the holder for the HD). I have to say that the quality is brilliant and the HD fits very well. I've ordered it yesterday at gps-haus.de and it arrived today. I payed 25euros (shipping included) which is absolutely OK. Anyone interested in pictures?

Yes, post some pic's of this strong holder...
I ordered this one from Brando yesterday.
For me, it has a great design, just iphone like and I used a similar holder for my former phone (Hermes).
I drive a sportcar myself and I have to say, that vibration could possibly occur because of the "thin" arm of the holder.
My old holder did vibrate at higher speed, like above 85mph (140km/h) but could handle strong impacts, like chuckholes, very well.

I have that one and I can confirm that it will shake constantly during driving, which can be seriously annoying. No matter if the road is silky smooth, it will simply shake even from the engine vibration itself.
I had a temporary solution by putting it rather low and using the dashboard as an additional support. This works just fine, so you're probably gonna want to do the same unless you want to get shake-sick from trying to read anything off the screen while driving.
In the end I decided to try one of the shorter car holders that has a stiffer and shorter arm. Will report when it comes in.

I would be interested in any feedback that you have with your new purchase, as i have tried the herbert richter gorilla mount and although that is better, there is still quite a lot of vibration. However, I do own the car with the word's stiffest suspension, so I probably shouldn't expect too much!
I got my holder (look 2 posts before) on friday and I was pleased by the wonderful 360° joint.
But like Rozenthal said, that thing shakes like nothing
It has a far too long arm, so that it can't hold our device in a fixed position.
So now, I mountet the holder plate onto my old, shorter holder (same construction) and I will drive this evening to a friend.
I will post my experience tomorrow!
The one in post #8 is stable. I'm happy with it.

Is there a UK seller for this? as my German isn't very good!
Didn't got the time to report back yesterday.
But I will give you my experience now:
I tried my old, shorter goose neck holder with the new adapter plate.
And it worked really well
It is stable, although i drive a car with sport suspension, so there are some strong impacts on the holder. If there is a very rough street, it produces a few vibration. But that stops very fast, because the holder is much stronger.
But if you need a very stable holder, take the one from post #8 which Chris mentioned.

^that's good feedback...I'm going to check that one out since I'm getting ready to take a long trip on all kinds of roads
eversince i got a brodit phone holder for my old ipaq 6515 from proclipusa.com, I have been using it for all my phones as I just add padding to the holder to accommodate the narrower phones.
however, for HD, with a silicon skin casing (I use capdase), I can just slot the phone into the holder w/o any modification. I kinda like brodit holder because they look 'OEM' (not cheesy universal holder you see elsewhere), at the same time, my ipaq holder could be reused each time I changed my phone with some minimal modification. I change my phone every 4-6 months so it'll be too expensive for me to get a phone specific phone holder.

ideal car holder/fitting method for touch hd?

I love using my hd to watch movies hooked up to aux input in my car,
I got one of these of ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CAR-CHARG....c0.m14&_trkparms=65:1|66:2|39:1|293:1|294:50
its already snapped!
I want something that allows you switch between horizontal/vertical and tilt funtion for tomtom and core player
I may try velcro stickers or maybe an air vent holder
any other ideas?
I have had 2 of these..they are absolutely rubbish, the insertion clip snapped both times. I have also tried another holder (universal one) and that turned out to rubbish too, I threw it away. Another time the suction disc came away from the arm. I have also tried my own custom made holder - I took a leather phone case and screwed it into the back of the arm attachment, that worked much better than the worthless gadgets of ebay. So save your money and forget buying from ebay, it maybe worth spending a bit more for a better quality item. And just yesterday I found my my xda orbit holder provided by O2 so using that for now which fits the Touch HD very well.
My side I buy that for my car Car Windshield Swivel Mount Dock for HTC Touch HD. At 5.60$ nobody can make better!
Work like a charm!

I had a universal jobby off ebay, that was a bit rubbish since where it clamped onto the phone it obscured the volume control buttons.
Ordered one of the HD specific designed ones and will see how that goes.

Brodit holder + charger
I have recently installed a holder and charger for my Touch HD and can highly recommend it!!
http://www.brodit.com/
The installation was somewhat easy, had to open the dashboard to connect it to power behind the stereo.
Pro Clip makes some amazing solutions. I have used them for years on numerous devices.

Goes pretty fast. Haven't done any comparison, but I can't complain. I normally drive 45 minutes to work and twice a day charging is fine for me.

I like the look of the solid mount to the screen, but the holder looks a bit busy.
How have you found it?
Paul.
I got my own here www.mobilefun.co.uk
In this page you can find just about everything you need for your touch hd or any other phone... Bad thing deliveries are done only within the EU countries
The link for the holder i personally purchased and i'm 100% satisfied is here:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-touch-hd-car-holder-p19992.htm
If you are looking for something a lot cheaper that goes with a car charger in the pack you can look here:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/drivesafe-car-pack-for-the-htc-touch-hd-p20932.htm (only difference with the first one is a little more stiff on adjusting method) but its still perfect and safe & both are really easy to adjust horizontally and vertically the phone & they are both built for windshields which means you can video type your driving
I suggest it without second thoughts!

Got the same one. Pricey but oh so worth it. I love it,and would def recommend it. I've tried the suction ones, and they for some reason keep falling off the windscreen, even with cleaning the surface/drying it etc.
The brodit just clips into your dash, and fit your touch hd perfect. They make mounts for every car.
I love it!!!
And it charges at a normal rate, just like a standard wall charger.
I have this one and it's excellent..
Brodit holder question
I have a cheap universal effort I bought from some motorway services - Im looking for a better solution - im using airvent attachment - its a three pronged affair which clips over one of the vent "stays". Its wobbly as hell - which is fine most of the time, except when you are attaching the charging cable. Does the Brodit attach to the airvents ? if so does it attach solidly ? in a better way than my three pronged clip ??
Depending on your car and which mount you want.
For my Xantia, using the vent beside the steering wheel the mounting plate fits in around the vent, between the vent unit and the dashboard body, rather than the cheapo ones that clip feebly to the vent.
At the moment I'm using two of the suction cup ones that people have had problems with.
Superglue is your friend (no, do not superglue it to the windscreen no matter how temping that sounds!).
The internal flange which holds the silicon cup to the base of the arm breaks up causing it to regularly fall off teh windscreen, some good superglue carefully dripped in fixes this. The other problem I've had is the ends breaking where the metal snake fits in, again superglue (pull back the concertina cover) in each end sorts this.
Ok these are things that should not go wong in a good product, but when they're available for a couple of quid shipped from China, it's to be expected, and thankfully easily rectified.
Has anyone got the details of a UK supplier of Brodit?

[Q] Car holder for Xperia Neo?

Hi everyone,
can you recommend me a good sturdy car holder for the Xperia Neo? I have bought this one http://www.dealextreme.com/p/universal-car-swivel-mount-holder-black-81053 as it had positive reviews, but the holder is really useless. The swivel section does not hold in place at all, so after several minutes the phone starts facing a direction where i cant see the display.
Basically i need the following:
- holds phone from 4 directions
- does not cover any of the buttons (incl. volume buttons)
- does not cover the loudspeaker
- can be turned horizontally
- (ideally) can be mounted on dashboard as well (my car has the lighter connector way to far from the windshield).
Well I'm searching a car holder too but I can't find anything that please me. I'll let you know if finally I found something worth to buy!
so far this is the one that looks the best, but 20 eur for a noname car kit seems to much for me... http://www.ipshop.sk/sony-ericsson-...p-2000.html?osCsid=ctachbj3vmfhjumbgagr828l45
I can't see your link but 20 € is really too much, I don't really use my phone as a navigator every day...
I bought one for 5 dollars but the only issue I have with it is it covers the volume buttons. Would like to see a good car holder for this phone too.
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App
There is the clingo http://www.amazon.co.uk/Clingo-Univ...P9A2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317411036&sr=8-2
I read good things about exomount, and i think i'm going to buy this one.
But it will cover volume buttons.

looking at the design of the exomount i am afraid it will not only cover the volume buttons but will also permanently keep at least one of the pushed... it seems to be overpriced as well. but anyways if you decide to get one please share your experience
With my current (cheapy) holder the phone is a bit hard to get into place and if i center it, it's touching one of the volume buttons and always playing around so I have to put it off-center which, when driving can make the phone jump around a little. hope to find a better car holder soon.

I bought this one http://www.dealextreme.com/p/universal-plastic-car-swivel-mount-holder-with-suction-cup-for-cell-phone-gps-black-81246 cause I'm also using a TPU cover on my Neo.
But you could also try this : http://www.ebay.nl/itm/260770628331?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
it should fit the Neo.
Last night, I ordered the Neo on Amazon (anxiously awaiting arrival now
While I was at it, I looked around for a car holder. I ordered this:
amazon.de/gp/product/B005EXHJ66 (Saugfußhalter = the suction thing). As I just ordered it, I don't know if it's really good - I'll post again when I have it.
It seems like it's not too ugly (I hate these 'universal' holders - they are way too bulky), and one can order extra parts to mount the phone on a bike or on the car venting holes too (search the site for Haicom and you'll find these). That also means one can just mount another bracket (for another device).
It's also available on Amazon.co.uk under another name: amazon.co.uk/dp/B005F2U32S (lot of pictures there).
While I was searching, I also came across something that can be attached to the screen or placed on the dashboard - like the topic starter asked - but I don't have the link for that anymore.
Regarding the Clingo: I considered that too - but then I read some reviews which said it left residue or the phone falls off under some temperature circumstances - so I didn't dare to try that one anymore.
I have a media that is installed on the grid certral the air outlet, it took two years and I have taken this stand Nokias, LG, Samsung .... all perfectly anchored and comfortable
I bought it at The Phone House and has never given me problems

Can recommend Griffins universal holders.
Doesn't block any buttons, ok price but if u want to charge in the same time u need to be careful with the cover. But it works

in your opinion, car vibrations can cause problems to the phone? can brake?
It´s expensive for me 20€+shipping cost!!!!!

Windshield mount and phone case

It looks like my next phone is going to be a Note 3. Does anyone have any experience with a windshield mount that will work with their case? The case will need to have a holster with belt clip. My current windshield mount is from slipgrip, but most of the cases they offer a mount for on the Note 3 don't seem to have the holster option.
I drive on some pretty rough roads so I need something that will stay stuck to the window and not let the phone bounce out. I use my phone as a GPS, so the windshield mount is kind of important.
See if my car holder plus wireless charger suits your needs.

It is very very sturdy. Suction on windscreen is awesome. Even after releasing button the suction is awesome abs have to really pull to get it off. Have four other holders and they don't even come close. Screen had frozen a few times due to cold and it stays on when usually my others would have fallen off.
I use it for sat navigation and Google music streaming usually and works great.
The holder had a depression where I insert the wireless charger. You could easily accommodate a belt clip in it.
Looks interesting. The only down side I see if it looks to take 2 hands to place or remove the phone. I don't always wear a bluetooth headset, so one handed removal and installation is kind of important.

i dont know the LG part number. The one i got is made by some one else for the LG WCP300 qi charger, i use the koolpuck qi charger in it as its a lot cheaper. The car holder is called SMART FIT2 cradle (TCD-C800P) and says designed by NEIM for LG Mobile
Not sure if its made by LG or NEIM as in the front it has a hologram sticker on the box saying FOR LG MOBILE. it was less than 25$ when i bought it, and i sent my video link to seller as was happy with product and he withdrew listing and later found all sellers had increased prices from 200$ to 600$ which is crazy. Very few sellers and hence probably demand has gone up. But the product is great and i want to buy another one too but not at these crazy prices! Hopefully soon the prices will come down once other sellers start selling the same seeing demand.
The suction is awesome and i dont think suction can get any better. One handed shouldnt be an issue as you put it in the holder when you sit in car before you drive and later only remove it when you get off. quick release button is efficient. I use the speakers on the phone as i dont like bluetooth headphones or ear pieces. The volume is loud enough for me to use google music and google navigation and phone calls come via the car speakers as mine is an older car where the music doesnt come through the car stereo and only phone calls come through car stero bluetooth connection.
I have the first and second version of the Exogear Exomount. While they have amazing suction to almost any semi flat surface AND work with cases , they do take 2 hands to put your phone in. I also have a TechMatte car mount which has a button in the middle of the back. When that button is pressed, when you put your phone in it, the mount closes down on the device. It has foam padding on each side, so it will not scratch your phone. The only issue you might have with it would be using big cases. My Spigen Bounce and Diztronic TPU fit in the mount snug, but I'm afraid that a bigger case might not fit.
Here's a link to it :
http://www.amazon.com/TechMatte-Easy-Touch-Universal-Windshield-Packaging/dp/B00G3KN9LI
SwiftKey'ed from my White Sprint Note 3 via XDA Premium
I use this from Techmatte. Works great for me
I had an iOttie one touch for my previous phones. The suction cup mount works *very* well. Better than anything I've seen before.
http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Windsh...UTF8&qid=1385573943&sr=8-1&keywords=iottie+xl
To lock the phone you just place the phone in the dock and push it in. It pushes a button in the center and pulls the sides in, locking the phone in securely.
To remove, you hit two buttons on the side which releases the tension.
One handed in, one handed out.
Oh, and it's very sturdy. Doesn't bounce around like other cheaper mounts.
I ended up going with the slipgrip again. It works well for the Spigen case I ordered, so all is well.

Any experiences with car mounts?

Does someone use their Z1 on a car mount? If so, which one?
Hey,
i bought a mount which looks like this:
http://www.amazon.de/iZideals-Unive..._UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=0CG8D7VT925YPS92KEC5
but it only paid like 2€ or something it works pretty good!
To be honest, I prefer the spring mounted holders with the suction cups which attach to your windscreen/dashboard, these holders which attach to the heater vent don't look like they could take many knocks and there's lots of lovely sharp corners and pedals under there which will make short work of your phone's screen, suctioning a holder to the top of your dashboard means it's attached a lot safer and if it becomes loose it'll probably land on the top of the dashboard and slide to the sides.
There's tons of these type of holders on ebay and Amazon, I would go for something similar to this so if you insist on the vent mount you still have that choice :

It's got a very good rating and the QA states that the arms on the side are adjustable (usually spring loaded so they grip the phone with tension) meaning, even if your phone is in a rugged case, it will be held securely.

I use this with my Z1. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Rock solid build quality, and the raised part at the bottom of the cradle means that the phone never falls out. Easy button at the back to release the side clamps. It holds the Z1 firmly enough to press the home button to unlock without the phone moving.
Highly recommended
I bought this one for 2 USD from aliexpress. It's great.

I've tried a couple of mounts the last years, but the only one i would buy again is the former recommended Samsung cradle.
It still "sticks" on my windscreen for month, you can turn it from landscape to portrait mode with one hand, put the phone in and out one-handed, everything no problem!
I have the isomount one that is istalled in the CD. Its works really well

I use a magnetic one with a metal plate under my case, works so great and is so easy! We have a magnet in each car and every phone in the family has this metal plate. Go into the car and just pop the phone on there. Holds almost every bumper! And I really like to not have it on my windshield so it doesnt block my view in any way. Works better than expected!
Not allowed to post links yet, sorry
