Question Facebook apps do not see screenshot folder after update to Android 12 - Realme GT

Hi,
Is this only me or can someone confirm that Messenger and Facebook do not display screenshots when I try send/post image. I see all other folders like WhatsApp etc. but apps do not see screenshot folder and I can't send them.

On Android 12 I have two screenshot folder. One old in the DCIM folder, and a new on the pictures folder.
After a update sometimes permission of folders gets messup.
To fix copy all yours files from misbehaving folder, to a new folder you just create, then delete the misbehaving folder, now take a screenshot the folder must be recreated by system automatic, then place all yours copy files on the new folder.
Then check if app can see it.

[Q] Making "picture" folder in the Data folder :solved:

The "data" folder is 11gb and I made a new folder in it called "pictures" I downloaded Quick Pic and that folder will not show up. I want to store more then 2 gigs of pictures in it. I can add pictures to it via esFile Explorer. I can point Quick Pic to //root/Data, but it wont show any other folders... The question would be how do I go about doing this?
EDIT
I got it, should have kept trying before I posted this.... Just dump content in the media folder within the data folder.

[q] [other] how to move a picture through folders?

Hi chaps,
I was wondering how do I move a picture from a folder to another. I sent myself a pic through bluetooth and now when I got to gallery there's a folder called Bluetooth - I want to delete this folder and send the picture to a different folder.
Any thoughts?

using my file or file explorer or what ever your app is named.
copy and paste the picture to the folder you want.
delete folder you do not want.
I meant these folders (see attached)
you should still be able to deete subfolders from the pictures or image folder file using my files.

How to stop the automatic creation of ".nomedia" file in a specific folder ?

How to stop the automatic creation of ".nomedia" file in a specific folder ?
Can you please let me know the steps to stop the creation of ".nomedia "file in a specific folder( Ex : Abcd album) so that i am able to the pictures of it in the gallery.Every now and then it gets created and i had to delete it manually. I am using Whatsremoved App which stores the deleted files and statuses from WhatsApp in a folder but in the folder .nomedia files gets created, thus that folder did not come in the gallery and gets hidden, no matter how many times i delete that file it keeps coming.
Also, i had used this same app on my old Moto G4 Plus and i did not face the same issue on that phone.
Please suggest a solution

I have renamed DCIM folder and its vanished, But it contained 30 GB of photos. But in microseconds.
Anyone could advice whether can restore. thanks.
Do you mean that folder and all photos in it have disappeared after you renamed the folder?
In general, this is impossible. Open the 'Files' app to find the renamed folder and your photos.
Hi Mr James,
Yes, totally gone missing. It was about 30gb.

Did you have them backed up on the PC?
Renaming that folder as is now obvious to you is not a good idea, here's why.
Why Does Every Camera Put Photos in a DCIM Folder?
Every camera — whether it’s a dedicated digital camera or the Camera app on Android or iPhone — places the photos you take in a DCIM folder. DCIM stands for “Digital Camera Images.”
www.google.com
The camera will also not recognize the renamed folder when you take a picture unless you edit the cam app's coding.
I copy the DCIM folder subfolders to a renamed folder on my SD card then back that folder up. I then delete the images in the DCIM subfolders and start over about once a month.
If you really deleted the DCIM folder (I don't think this is possible on a stock Android but never tried it!) things will get dicey.
Search by file type, image or jpeg and check the SD card. If MiX file explorer is already installed try using that. If they have been deleted the files are still there until they are overwritten. Using the device can cause this to happen.
Use only known good recovery software; some offer free recovery but encrypt the results and require a payment to unencrypted the actual images all the while potentially overwriting the originals if it hasn't already deleted them.
Be warned.
If you do manage to recover them it will only be the image files. The folder structure is already lost and the image exit information is disassociated from its image, lost is a sea of files. So there be no timespamp, pic number or any other information for the images and no way to recreate it. 30gb be a complete jigsaw puzzle of images in mostly random order. You can sort by file type but that's all.
You better hope it was renamed and not deleted!!!

Question Can't Edit or Move and Copy Files to Android/Data or Android/OBB Folder

Hi, does anyone know how to edit Android/Data and Android/OBB folder?
I can't move any files to those folders and I can't edit the contents even rename it too.
It was just fine when I'm on OneUI 3. After I update it to OneUI 4, which is Android 12, those folders completely uneditable.
I CAN still access it, I just CAN'T edit the inside of those folders.
not sure what folder you are referring to, but you can reproduce the issue and submit error to samsung members app > get help > error report.
Samsung should be able to confirm what the issue is. Hope this helps.
Have you tried this ?

I've tried this.
The thing is, I can access the OBB and Data folders but I cannot edit the contents inside of it. So I can't rename or add anything inside those folders..
Try TotalCommander file manager.
