LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Why Android 11 GO version? According to the Android 11 Go Edition Device Setup Guide, starting with Android 11 all smartphones with 1GB or 2GB of RAM must use Android Go.
Although this tablet has 3 GB of ram memory, this tablet has a technology of 8 years ago, I believe that the Android GO version can run in a responsive way with minimal lag.
In addition, some tweaks were applied to improve the overall performance for this old device.

Thanks!I going to try this one too!

Many thanks for this. I have installed and it generally seems to be working well.
Glad to see audio working well as it wasn't initially in 17.1 and only recently fixed.
I am using ShevT's 17.1 and he had managed to fix audio issues in 17.1 which I think were being caused by the CPU core control - after the fix the cpu cores run at almost top frequency all the time, even on the interactive governor. The same is happening in this ROM. This makes battery drain significantly higher and charging slow when the device is turned on.
I installed deathly auditor - in the 17.1 rom this allowed to tweaks battery charging current, however these are not yet enabled in the 18.1 kernel.
USB Midi OTG is working well.
My usb soundcard is not working (but was in 17.1) - in android 10 I used the lesser audio switch app to use the tablet speakers and the usb mic to together, but this does not work in android 11 as we are supposed to be able to select usb audio inputs/outputs through volume control - this is not available in the 18.1 go.
I don't think Palm rejection on the spen is working on this. ShevT had fixed this in 17.1.
Some streaming apps are not available on play store (D+ and NF) although this may be because I installed magisk, but this wasn't ever an issue on 17.1.
I will continue to use and test. Thank you for sharing this.

Change your device fingerprint in MagiskProps to a certified fingerprint in order to get Netflix to show up.

Are you also noticing that Wi-Fi disconnects randomly? And there’s also no on screen nav buttons

thanks for the feedback. I think Streaming Video like Disney+ and Netflix is not available on Play store because you are using a custom rom.

I noticed that Wifi sometimes disconnects when using 5 GHz. When using 2.4 GHZ, I didn't notice random disconnections.

I am 5 ghz and haven't noticed disconnects yet. I watched a movie streamed over chromecast and no problems during that.

One of my key apps (koala sampler) is crashing as soon as it opens. A previous test version of 18.1 by the exynos team was posted briefly for the p601, but removed as there was a memory issue causing crashes. It was said it would only be available again once this had been fixed. Have you fixed this or do you know if has been fixed in the exynos team sources?
the issues started after I tried to use my usb soundcard, so it could be related to that, but would be good to know if there is still potentially an underlying issue before doing further checking.

Seems like with this rom, the memory issue hasn’t happened. I’m about to put this rom to the test with everything that I do on a daily. Also got Netflix installed btw

I never got a chance to try the other 18.1 version - did you notice app crashes on it? Certainly the koala app is solid on 17.1 and I'll be going to back to that for now.

On ShevT’s version of 18.1, there were many app crashes cause of the memory problem. It would get to the point where the system would randomly crash and reboot. So far with this new rom, I haven’t experienced any crashes (yet). There are some features that I do want to see in the next build though. If any errors do come up I’ll pull logs. So far this rom is a step in the right direction. I installed this rom with the Opengapps Super Package.

The other problem with 17.1 was that video playback in the browser wouldn’t work unless your webview version was v89 or lower. I’m going to see if that is the case with this new rom

still no sound after update to 3.0.201

Hi there.. no sound for me in my dell xps 12 9250 even with latest update I heard that the stock android-x86 rc2 supported my sound card so maybe jade didn't update there kernel?
My sound card: realtek high definition audio (sst)
@katana444 don't just say u heard Android-x86 supports your sound card - be sure - check it out by installing it.
On my device sound works from the beginning, but it works either badly or fails few minutes after booting the system.
I have the same audio card on my Lenovo miix 700, and it's not working on the latest RemixOS release, while it is working on Android x86 RC2.
According to Jade developers, they are aware of the issue, not all changes in RC2 have been incorporated yet, hopefully in the next release we will also have audio working.
I want to emphasize to you all that realtek high definition audio (sst) is just a "userfriendly" sound device name. There are dozens if not hundreds of audio chips that carry this one same name, but many require different drivers - because of that, providing just this name can be insufficient. I for instance, I found out online what my audio chip model was. There are many methods to get the proper HW info, but Remix needs a good, neat guide for that.
About differences between Remix and Android-x86 - I agree, these are weird. Logically, I'd thought that Remix has all what Android-x86 + it's own features, but apparently there are differences, the sad fact is that sometimes it's backwards. Developing such project is a big challenge and we should have that in mind - there will be lots of problems and that will persist for some time (probably long) before we reach a stable state.

thank you !

I installed 104 on virtual box and USB flash drive. In VB the audio setting is:
Host Audio Driver: Windows DirectSound;
Audio Controller: ICH AC97
The sound card works perfectly.
But NO sound when running 104 from the USB flash drive. Any suggestion.

Nougat or LineageOS

Hello,
here's a quick question. Should I stick with the Nougat demo, or is it better to switch to LineageOS? I'm kinda annoyed by the fact that the fingerprint sensor is not working so that would be a pro for LineageOS (as long as it supports that feature). I don't care about stuff like paying over NFC. Does Xposed and root work on LineageOS?
I recently went onto the Nougat Beta and happy with it mainly due to the fact I have better GPS / 4G and more important for my need the Bluetooth Audio in car works great.
However, I ihad nstalled Lineage prior to this and I really like Lineage, only reason I moved to the 7 Beta was because of the Bluetooth audio issue. With regards to rooting LineageOS, read here in the LineageOS thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/el...ndroid-6-0-t3423518/post71013904#post71013904
I think it is the best if you take LineageOS and install xposed. Then you can use a few things with Android N-ify from Android 7 to Android 6.

Chromebook Pixel 2013 with Acer r11 Software Issues

So I finally have Android Apps working on the Chromebook Pixel 2013. It was an easy matter installing the R11 firmware. The issues I am facing have to do with the sound. It plays sound, although the volume does not seem to work as it should. It only really changes when I set it to either mute or on at full volume.
Also, there seems to be an issue with the headphones. I need to go into the Alsamixer and unmute the channels. The issue is I can not save this setting (tried the normal Linux way with no success) so when ever the comp is restart have to go back into the Alsa mixer. It is not a major issue, but it is one thing keeping it from being flawless.
The only other thing is the mouse pointer in android apps is very small. I am thinking this has to do with the way Android is rendered on Chrome OS and the resolution of the screen, so not sure if there is any way of fixing it, but thought it I would bring it up. Beyond that, if anyone has a Chromebook Pixel and wants Android apps, the process is easy. If anyone needs me to outline the full process, just let me know! The Chromebook Pixel 2013 is far from dead, and still one of the most stunning laptops you can buy!
I'll probably be doing this myself shortly. I'll investigate the audio issues and alsamixer. I assume this is you? https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/c...pixel_2013_but_now/?ref=share&ref_source=link
Thanks,
Michael
Did you ever get this working? I've tried and after installing the R11 firmware it won't boot.
How do you install the firmware?

Stable HP TouchPad ROM With Bluetooth & Wifi

From all the available Android ROM from this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/general/hp-touchpad-optimize-android-swap-t3901773
WiFi works on all ROMs:
Bluetooth works on:
Kitkat , Lollipop and Nougat.
It all depends what features of Bluetooth is been use. Is an old hardware it has it limitations.
For File transfer it is best to use WiFi, take a look here:

What version of Evervolv Nougat?
I am referring to 7.1.2 from this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hp-touchpad/general/hp-touchpad-optimize-android-swap-t3901773
The Tablet does a very good job at streaming and also playing with the loud speakers it has.
I know the Bluetooth works as I use it for the OBDII on the car.
When it comes to music and do not like Bluetooth for its low quality, I use wire AUX connection.

Looking at my settings it shows:
Android Version -> 5.0.2
Kernel version -> [email protected] #1
Thu Mar 19 05:47:08 PDT 2015
okay super old version
Interesting enough - the bluetooth option now seems to be working, but the wifi shows an exclamation point beside it and is not working atm. It was working a few days ago when I was trying to get bluetooth to work.
I'm going to do some googling but I think there was a way I could update directly from the touchpad.
Here I am almost 24 hours later and still unable to get the wifi to connect. Since I am already on evervolv - what steps would I need to take to update to the most recent version sans wifi?

WiFi works with all ROMs and Bluetooth up to Evervolv 7.1.2
For WiFi to work the router needs to be properly configure and the user must know how to connect to the WiFi network.
By the way, I did try Bluetooth for playing music on a car stereo and works perfectly, hours of playing with no issues. I was very impress!
For the second time, here is a link to all Android ROMs and to flash it to get the most out of it.

Android Auto issues with my phone

Hello XDA,
I'm having issues with my Android Auto. I'm using it with OnePlus 7T Pro (with the latest OOS 10.0.13 and the latest AA 5.9.604634).
After a click or few inside an application (no matter if it is a Phone, Spotify, Waze,...), the cursor disappears from the app. I can control the bottom bar only - that one works flawlessly. When this happens, the application still normally works, it doesn't freeze or anything, I just cannot control it. It behaves the same wired and wireless.
I recorded a quick video presenting the issue:
YouTube
The thing is, when I tried it with Samsung Galaxy S8 and there were no issues, so it looks to be something wrong with my OnePlus.
Do you have any idea how to troubleshoot this? How to find out what is causing it and possibly how to fix this?
I tried to delete all data from AA application on my phone, but no luck.
I'll be happy for any advice, thank you.
