[help] Remove pin lock on duo - Microsoft Surface Duo Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, I am feeling desperate and want to try my luck here.
I got the phone from Amazon 3rd party seller, but it came with a pin lock! I've tried to use ADB update the recovery image downloaded from MS website, but the lock is still there. Maybe because the usb debugging is not on? I also tried to bypass Google Account on MICROSOFT with the method showed here
, not working since the "keep your device unlocked " does not show up.
Yes, the seller can give me a full refund if I return the phone. However, the phone was shipped to Hong Kong and no carrier is able to ship it unless i provide lots of documents due to the built-in battery.
Any idea or suggestion is welcome! Thank you!

Unlocked bootloader (including critical).
USB Debugging turned on.
Unfortunately, the machine I have does not meet the prerequisites. Thanks for your reply anyway!

Way from the top doesn't works.
I found new way.
1) Go to settings (from keyboard)
(Open keyboard - Hold on "mic" - don't allow (2-3 time) - reopen keyboard - again hold on "mic" - after you'll see "settings" .
2) -> Permissions
3) Search "Android Setup"
4) a) Force Stop + b) Clear Cache
5) Search "Google Play Services"
6) Clear Storage + Clear cashe
7) Disable + Force stop
8) Enable
9) Go to second screen
10) Skip WIFI
11) Accept, accept. skip....
BIG DEAL!
Erase all data(factory reset)
Done)))
P.S Way is not new, but works great.

I really REALLY hope someone might be able to help me here.
I am rather upset at my stupidity.
I was looking for VPN software for PPC.....found this:

But I managed to download the Antha Secure instead and istalled it without checking.
I will Never make same mistake....How I was so stupid (not enough coffee)
I reset my device expecting Cisco able VPN but I was presented with a lock screen (like windows lock ) asking for a password to access my device.
Below the password box is a note saying "password is: demo"
Password demo does not work I am crying.....I have locked my Device!
Unlock code is not my device unlock code
It wont let me make emergency calls or anything......
I am stuck looking at their splash screen...
I can connect via Active sync - I removed the program files relating to this but I cannot get it to stop starting up with my device....
In windows/startup I have:

Anyone rescue me
PLEASE!!!
If you are able to connect with activesync. Can't you just flash your device with Windows Mobile 6 again? That should put you back to start.
Hope that helps

did hard reset
Thanks for reply though......

Maybe someone has a better solution but here goes mine. Download and install Safe Mode for PocketPC. http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/safemodeforpocketpc.shtml
Soft reset and try to go into safe mode to see if it'll allow you to uninstall. If you can get into the device, at the very least you may be able to edit your registry to disable this buggy software. Let us know how it goes.
It's weird that you can't uninstall the software via ActiveSync though.
Hard reset so sorted but....
Well, the app locks the device on startup. ASks for password (in box under says password : demo - this didnt work with soft keyboard hard keyboard upper and lower case etc...)
So Couldnt actually get to home page...
When I selected the item through active sync add and remove programs it let me click on remove but didnt remove it, just hung
This soft does actually suck. Anthasoft.com's web site needs some TLC but their support got straight onto my issue.
Shame I couldnt wait and reset really.
But SD card intact
Microdrive intact.
Copied program files and my docs out onto PC before Hard reset.
all ok really....jsut missions getting it back together.

Might want to have Safe Mode installed in case this happens to you again with other software. It's saved my butt several times already.

Can't get the miss OEM unlocking option back on G965F

Sorry about post a new thread about this again, but my situation seems a little weird.
I got an S9+, from Australia Optus (but I'm in China), with the latest firmware, trying to get the missing "oem unlocking" option back but failed.
In download mode, both OEM and frp is off , RMM state: prenormal.
My procedure is:
1. Reset the phone without SIM card.
2. After finishing the whole setup and get into the destop, I plug in the sim card. (but didn't login google or samsung account, because I can't connect to google service. So if I want to get through the setup, I can't plug in the sim card or connect to Wifi.)
3. Then I connect wifi and login in samsung account to restore my backup.
4. Open Developer Options.
5. Wait 7 days. (the uptime is over 168 hrs, even over 300 hrs)
6. the "oem unlocking" is still missing .
Or the phone must online "the whole" 7 days?
Because sometimes the phone will lose the network in subway.
And the swiching between network and wifi won't make a difference, right?
I've already consult the Australia samsung customer-service, can't help me online. And the Samsung Centre in China didn't have the access to fix an S9+ sold in Australia.
Hope somebody can help me to fix this, I want to install a third party ROM.
You have to reset your device while the sim card is in the device , then in the setup you have to log in to your both google and samsung accounts , then wait 7 days , and it should appear , if it doesnt appearing simply use google to check how to fix the missing OEM Unlock option

thanks! I'll try in this way.
so to clarify, whats the problem when you just leave the sim in, restore/wipe phone, login to google account, then wait 7 days and check dev options ?

You should flash the original fw (mine is optus) and leave the phone without a sim inside, connected to wifi, on all the time. Plugging the chinese sim might not unlock it.

Cant access device after Android 9

Hi ! Today i bought my Pocophone F1 and updated it to MIUI 10. Created MI account, entered my google account and downloaded Android 9 update. After the installation of the update i no longer can pass the first settings screen. There is a Confirm your password section where the keyboard is only numerical and cant enter any of my passwords cause they all contain letters. I cannot install another ROM because my bootloader is locked and cannot unlock it from this state. I can access all of my accounts from computer, just dont know what is this only numerical password ... Would be glad if anyone can help !
Hi, I have exactly the same problem and conditions. Today I got the smartphone, registered on the page, updated with:
miui_POCOF1Global_8.11.29_14c6931f61_9.0.zip.
(MIUI10/choose lang/chose your region/connect to network/terms and c./checking for updates/copy apps&data(skiped)/checking info/confirm your passsword)
Wipe data did not help.
I've been desperate for hours. Please help

Its seems is somehow google account related. Managed to flash the same ROM (cause its the only one i can flash with locked bootloader) with XiaomiADB and MI account dissapeared, but only Google one left. It let you go without wifi connection to the end but just when you press the last button to go to the homepage it says you cannot because there is a google profile here and Couldnt been able to bypass it cause all the techniques dont work here, like for example the talkback gesture and SSID copy stuff. Tried even to remove my device from my google profile, but with no luck for the moment ...

I suspect more likely a numeric password, which would have to be connected to Xiaomi-account.(it's google)
When I turn off the wi-fi I get a message that the phone is assigned to a Xiaomi-account with the number xyz (account number is not this asked password) which can not be checked.
Ive send the device back to the seller. Actualy i contacted Xiaomi global support, but the bad news is they cannot understand the problem i have with the device, despite the description i gave them. I wrote them if the seller cannot fix it and decline to send a new device to give them IMEI and Mi account to unlock the bootloader since i cannot access the device. I doubt instaling official rom void warranty. We will see tomorrow.
Have someone any idea?
To try to remedy to this you might want to follow these steps. Do it in quick succession.
1. Press Power Button and Vol Down simultaneously to force shut down the device.
2. When the screen switches off quickly press Power Button and Vol Up, this will give you access to Recovery Mode
3. From there, you need to wipe your data (factory reset)
Here you use volume buttons to navigate and power button to select.
I don't know of any other way for your situation.
Hi I've the same solution there is the solution
Download on your pc the fastboot rom
http://en.miui.com/thread-3943816-1-1.html
Based on oreo
Start your phone in fastboot mod (pow + vol down)
Launch mi flash
Extract the zip and the zip inside
Flash it
Bootloader locked? Not a problem launch mi flash and click on unlock
Enjoy you're phone is now alive
(I've found this myself and it working)
Hf
my phone is back

i had a similar problem after unlocking the bootloader, i had to log in to my mi account which gave me a normal keyboard but to then go online i had to enter my wifi password which gave me no keyboard at all.
i used a usb keyboard with an otg adapter to circumvent the issue, worked fine but shame on xiaomi for such a bad software...

Question A02S SM-A025G - Google Pay, McDonald's application doesn't work (Root problem)

Hello recently I tried to root my phone, wanting to fix ghost touch, I did something wrong and the phone stopped working, "Only official binary blah blah blah ..." popped up during startup, I decided to reinstall the official stock, the phone started working normally, even ghost touch repaired, I looked at the Root Checker application if I have root, it turned out not, which is all right, but when I want to add the card to google pay or open McDonald's applications, I get a message that the phone is rooted or was somehow rooted modified, what can I do in such a situation, please help me, I tried to install other stocks from other operators and restore the phone to factory settings: _ (
I saw one solution, probably in this forum where someone wrote to enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging then disable and enable again, something like this, but I don't see OEM Unlock in the developer option, I know that with a failed root attempt, I somehow unlocked this option, but I don't remember how and I prefer someone to help me as best as he can, because I don't want to break anything anymore, I just want Google Pay to start working for me
OEM is probably hidden cause your device isnt older than 7 days. Connect to wifi and enable automatic time and date, than disable once done set the date atleast 7 day forward and oem should appear but you will have to lock ur bootloader before you disable oem and if you are running a custom firmawre make sure to backup data if you wanna go to normal firmware
But I use official firmware from some Samsung firmware site, i think my bootloader is locked, anyway do you have any solves to make work google pay?
I tried to unlock OEM but this solution with data & time doesn't work for me.
Hey, when I go to Google Play Shop there is an information that my device isn't certified, I tried to register my ID Device and still doesn't work can It be a problem, because of that Google Pay doesn't work?

If i wait 7 days OEM option should unlock automatically?
Is it good idea to root this device correctly and use magisk to make google pay work good or for example root this device and then unroot to make work google pay?

before you do this if odin says you are in custom mode backup all your data before doing this. no it wont automatically, first you have to go to odin mode and hold up for a bit until the screen shuts and shows the question (do you wanna lock your bootloader) you select yes once done if you are on custom it will bring up only odin mode before anything thats where u flash firmware, now that should get rid of the root, and then if u wanna disable oem connect to wifi disconnect date and time unselect automatically and go 7 days ahead and the option will appear.
How to check if i have custom mode and what i have to hold up?? please explain better because i don't know what i have to do

Question Sm-t227u mdm lock/rooting help

Hello! So I am on a journey to attempt to root a Samsung tab a7 lite sm-t227u. So I want to be extremely transparent as to my reason for rooting:
I was given this tablet by my father whom got it from a previous job. When he left the job they never asked for it back, a long with a good bit of supplies he had that he got to keep.
So, I have this tablet, I can get into it as it doesn't have a passcode. I have wiped it by factory reset as well. However, it has IBM's MAAS360 installed and after factory reset AND a firmware flash using odin I still cannot get rid of this maas360 mdm. It is not Knox locked. I can activate developer mode and change all those settings, but I cannot download any apps through the app store at all or enable unknown source app install as those are under an IT block. I also do not have the OEM unlock option in dev options. I've tried the whole changing the date and connecting to wifi, with and without sim card but I cannot get this option to show, nor can I unlock the bootload through fastboot.
I have read that most of the new samsung phones do not have a bootloader unlock option, but from what I can tell that is specific to the snapdragon phones, and this tablet is running a mediatek chip.
Now, if I can remove mdm restrictions without rooting that's great, but I have a feeling that is the only way to properly flash this thing to completely remove the mdm.
I have tried the recovery tar that is posted in this forum but I cannot get it to flash, likely because I still don't have an unlocked bootloader
Have any of you all faced something similar or know of a solution? I may call the company the mdm is managed by and just see if they will remove it from their system, but I find it highly unlikely.
SM-T227U is an American model wich doesn't have the OEM unlocking option, you could unlock using unofficial ways but those are not pretty "stable".

Hey man! Still got your tab 7? I also have a SM-T227U and have oem unlocked! After doing the usual stuff, you will want to turn off automatically update in developer settings. After that, go to settings>General management>Date and time and select manual time and date, and set it for exactly 10 days before the day you attempt this. OEM unlock will appear in dev settings!!!
Then turn off device and while holding power up + power down, plug into PC. It will show the pre-download mode screen where it asks if you want to continue. Just follow the on screen instructions to unlock bootloader!
*note that the bootloader unlocking results in an unavoidable factory reset**

Sweet! I will absolutely try this when I get home this afternoon, will report back with results!
But just for clarity. Let's say I start with a freshly wiped tablet. Go through set up and connect to wifi, do I need to add a Google and Samsung account? Then in dev settings, enable USB debugging, also enable wifi debugging? Then change the date. Is there any step I am missing?

If it has Mediatek chipset then you can use SP flash tool to format the tablet firmware and reflash it.
I would strongly recommend you to backup the NV DATA and NVRAM files before you format the tablet.

You can follow this guide actually! ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...220-t225-install-lsposed-magisk-mods.4406933/) it recommends just skipping the setup junk
I have found that many times, rooting methods work across different models of the same device unless there are some sort of major differences in chipsets or some sort of random change lol
The only thing that doesn't seem to work for our model is section V of the guide which is for the removal of the "bootloader is unlocked" screen at startup. so you will still need to press the power button on that screen to boot up. It's a tiny hassle, but otherwise no big deal in my personal opinion
Make sure to read all the way to the end of the root section (section 4) and especially remember step 7. I retried probably 4 times and even patched the entire AP file of the firmware for use in odin (doing this gives a second warning on Knox screen that it isn't samsung official fw then boots normally into the bootlogo screen) before realizing everything was going fine.. I recommend just using the patched Magisk boot.img first just because I find it unsightly
Just flash the boot.tar in the AP slot. Don't download any of the boot imgs from the guide because they are for the t220's and t225's. I'll link the one I made according to the guide below. It'll save you some time and you won't need to install zarchiver and Magick just to have it factory reset again lol. Just download the latest Magisk apk (26.1) from the official github (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases) and install it when you have completed the 2nd factory reset/the patched boot img install.
