Where Hieroglyphs Come From - Windows 11

Just a little bit of humor today~!
I was thinking about what would happen if I upgraded my Dad's Windows 7 machine to Windows 11 For Him~!
He's a smart man just not computer smart, very set in his ways, you know the type...
I imagine sitting next to him at his desk on the machine I built for him a decade ago that is still thriving to this day... haha
And him running into these symbols on a right click and not seeing any written instructions to copy pasta!!!

I can see the Steam exhausting out of every single crinkle in his brow, as he exclaims~!
"WHO KIDNAPPED A PHAROH AND PUT HEIROGLYPHS ON MY MACHINE!!1!!1"
After laughing at our morally ambiguous Schadenfreude session,
I realize.... he May Be Right. :0

Oh and did you know in WSA 127.0.0.1 is the Honeypot? Conspiracy Theory~!

...Now I can actually play with the Note a little! Believe it or not I haven't yet removed the stylus (sorry, S-Pen) from it's housing... I wanted to get the good stuff out first

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Its quite impressive since they licensed the Wacom tech behind it. Have fun with it, draw funny moustaches on people lol

what the heck are these?

for the past several days i keep getting these popups browsing this site and only this site in firefox. what gives?
they get some ads injected that are trying to put crap on my pc or what? not blaming xda at all, just looking for an answer.

ignore the second one, i figured out what it is, though i have no idea why it would randomly pop up while idling on xda. still confused about the other
ya, that's definitely not normal. It sounds like you may have malware or something if multiple things are popping up like that, but please please let them know in this thread here in case it's one of the ads here acting up.
i think i've got it sorted out. seems it was a combination of things. one being a jacked up firefox add-on, the other being a tiny piece of malware that was only detected by today's Symantec definition release

Young Dev : Games/Apps from Inspirations

I started off with Google's AppInventor (now MiT control the releases). Made a few apps to start off, but then saw the money in theming and decided to go in that path, but then got banned because I used a few copyrighted images.
Then switched to Windows Phone because of Microsoft (and their partners') frequent rewards to devs.
Now I am trying to get back to Android and have been learning a lot of Java theory.

I have made 14 apps for Windows Phone that can be found HERE
2 out of the 14 are the ones I'm proud of.

[Q] Today Screen for Android?

Hi,
it looks like the homescreen's solely purpose is to draw beautiful icons since smartphones entered the massmarket.
Does anyone remember the Today Screen from the old Windows Mobile devices?
Something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Every single piece of information in one place, without the need to click/enter/open anything. You were even able to read the last message/email directly from this screen.
I tried hard to achieve a screen like this using widgets, but these got title bars and spaces everywhere. In 2011 there was a project called SlideScreen which seems to have been pretty close to what i am thinking about, but it got abandoned.
Help me guys, how do i get something like this on android?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
cool!
