Huawei Y9 2019 Root Request for Viper4Android - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been able to unlock their Huawei Y9 2019, ever since Huawei blocked their bootloader service. I wished to install viper4android in my device however, due to the inability to root the device, that wish stopped dead in its tracks. If anyone could help, I'd be highly grateful

Me too! I'm going to try and contact the Devs for twrp or Cwm and see if I can get a source code. Might be able to compile it myself for us when I get to my desktop. Is there support for lineage yet?
Your devices are AL/TL or LX1/LX2/LX3?

Fla-lx1. I've been actively looking for a way to root it safely, as huawei is going to stop unlocking bootloaders in less than 2 months. I did find a way to root it on a russian site, but i don't trust it.
I'd appreciate any development or help! thank you.

You're not with lucky, FLA-AL have 4 different Firmware releases so far and FLA-LX# have zero !
Without firmware released for your device you don't have a starting point.
@HatemB
what's your build ?
Example : Huawei P20L - ANE-LX1 8.0.0.126(C432)
Huawei Y9 - FLA-LX2 8.0.0.121 (C636)
@RememberZ
Only for FLA-AL or FLA-TL Firmware find with FirmwareFinder.
You need for your Device FULL-Update. Without FULL-Update it's very danger to flash anything.
If after flashing 1 error in phone - you have NO chance for self-repair !
@JamesBott
It's fla-lx1c185. I will wait in order to have a safer rooting process. But I do have a related question. I unlocked the bootloader, with no other modification. Will i receive updates normally? OTA and such.
@HatemB
if stock-rom installed OTA-Updates incomming "normaly" and you can install.
Only "point of attention" is : OTA-Updates need stock-recovery for install, not work with TWRP. That's all.
Bootloader unlockt OR lockt is the same : no differences for install.
i have Bootloader unlockt, TWRP installed, OTA-Updates incomming, i am copy Update to external-sd, flash stock-recovery and install the update. Thats work.
Me too need root and twrp
Actually, since Huawei is no longer providing Unlock Codes, it's almost impossible to find a solution. There's a chance with DC-Unlocker which calculates the Bootloader Unlock Code for 5 Euros or so. I was Asked for 20€ for the same service.

Root / unlock bootloader for Y6 SCL-L21

Hi,
I have a Huawei Y6 SCL-L21, Build SCL-L21C432B130. Still running a (totally outdated) Android 5.1.1, bootloader locked.
I want to unlock the bootloader, but the Huawei website to request the unlock key is down since a while. Great move, now I can basically throw the device away. I will definitely not buy a Huawei phone again for this bull**** move.
I read that some folks managed to get root with KingRoot v4.52 or v4.6, but that didn't work for me. Also I find that tool incredibly shady.
Is there any other option to get a custom rom on this device?

For unlock code bootloader use DC unlocker... for me it works... you have to pay but I guess it is only solution... then look at the posts in the Forum to know how to do it
I just remembered that I wanted to post this:
I can confirm that DC unlocker worked for me, when I used it to unlock the Huawei Y6 earlier this year.
is there a new (and maybe free) option for this phone in 2021?

As far as I know, there is no way to unlock your bootloader since Huawei stop their service.
Your only option is 3-party-software, like DC-Unlocker.
I personally own a Huawei p8 lite 2017, and I was facing the same problem, to cut a long story short, I gave up. And Im getting a new phone this year, bit not a huawei

This website works, I'm really not happy about having to pay for it, but for $4 it isn't too bad.

Rooting a P40 Pro+

I have bought a P40 Pro+, knowing that GMS was not installed and hoping either a) Petal Search would help me install the apps I use or; b) there might be a way to install GMS failing a).
Googlefier doesn't work for me as LZPlay doesn't work anymore.
This is a story leading to some questions. I am a software developer, but not with Android so please consider me a noob.
I have tried contacting Huawei tech support asking why they restrict the ability of users to root their phones whereas in the PC world when one buys a gaming PC, everything one can think of is opened up to help enthusisats 'tweek' their PC's to get the best/what they want out of them. As far as I am concerned, one has to be pretty keen to buy a P40 Pro+.
I received a stock dull response from Huawei.
So, having already been intimidated/spooked by whispers that rooting P40's was not possible, I decided to have a look myself.
It seems that rooting the P40 series is possible - although I have not gone as far as trying it. I started here which led to this link offering a possible method but I got caught in click bait whlist attempting to download the link at the bottom labelled 'AutoRoot Tools for Windows' - link deliberately not included. The link tempts one with a file called 'autoroottools3.0-win.zip' but downloading is conditional on completion of marketing nonsense. I fell for it, and backed away when I realised a) it wasn't going to let me have the file in the foreseeable future and; b) even if it did, my trust level of that file had disappeared through the floor.
Question #1: Which rooting process/apk/Winapp whiich can successfully root a P40 do you recommend?
Hypothetically speaking, the next problem is installing the base GMS services on a rooted phone. There does seem to be an process asscoiated with an old GMS apk file from 2018 which might work (yes, I know it's wishful thinking).
Question #2: What is the likelyhood of the above apk working? I am asking two questions here, one is a) will such an old apk install on EMUI 10 and; b) Will Google let me install in any case if it knows the phone is a Huawei P40?
Question #3: Is it worth trying OpenGApps?
Question #4: Has anyone tried the virtual machine VPhoneGaGa?
Question #5: Is it worth trying MicroG?
Question #6: What is the perceived likelyhood of Biden releasing the embargo on Huawei, opening up the possibility of Huawei phones being able to natively install GMS?
Have I missed anything else worth trying?
With my best regards, Paul.
With regards to thread's title: Already tried this?

Unlocking the bootloader for Huawei Y6 2019 (MRD-LX1)

Ive been looking for countless ways to try rooting my phone and all of them either needed a custom recovery (needed to unlock the bootloader) or just need to unlock the bootloader to do any of the work. And with Huawei whos closed their services on giving the code to unlock it makes it nearly impossible and i cant pay for third party services.
Can anyone help me?
(if you need info ill reply with what you need)
