Hi. Im into de-googling my samsung galaxy A-32, and the last google service (besides location services, but i wont remove that in case i need it) that i have yet to remove is also one of my biggest battery drains: Google play services.
When i removed it by ADB none of my apps worked in the background anymore. Every time i wanted to get a new notification i would have to unlock my phone and open the app to see if i got a message, nothing i do can make the phone send me a notification while google play services is out, so i had to get it back.
Is there a non google alternative? Why does the phone needs google services to do that instead of being a basic android feature?

I have every app I don't need removed from my Rom (blocked with no bloat).
My play store is stuck on
Authentication required please sign into your Google account.
However I have Gmail and email and a ton of other useless system apps blocked.
What apps are required for play store to function properly.
(I can fire up an old phone that's stock and the play store on this phone stars working again)

Hi! Not sure if I'm in the right spot, but I figured I'd start here.
I just recently purchased the Asteroid Smart receiver and I'm having issues with the Google Services Framework. I followed a lot of guides to get Google Play to work on the deck and for the most part, I'm happy with how I have it setup. Google Calendar doesn't work, but I can access it from the web browser, so it's not that big of a deal. Besides that, everything else seems to work, except for the Google Play Services. It tells me that I cannot download to a duplicate user id, which I'm sure it has a lot to do with the account management apk file. Google's Framework Services also Force Closes whenever I first turn it on or/and when I connect via Wifi. It's annoying and even after the guides I've read, I can seem to fix this. Although I'd love to get the rest of my Google Apps to work, like the Calendar, I'd be far happier if I could get the FC messages to stop appearing.
Anyone know how to fix this? If I remove that apk, will it stop my Google Play and other Google Apps from working?
battery consumed by google play services is almost half of it..i am really not able to understand what to do. i have searched forums regarding this but i did not understand exactly what to do.my phone became sluggish.its rooted stock firmware running 4.3 android.i am new to this.could any one help me out in resolving this issue.also i saw a solution which says update play services.how to update?
Use app called disable services from play store.
And turn off Google services

No I m using it for a very long time and it doesn't affect any functionality for Gmail or play store.
Don't know about Google now.
If you use that just check after you disable a particular service.
Don't disable network location and fused location service they are needed for maps to work.

Disabling a critical service can have negative impact. I would recommend Greenify donation package for this since it only hibernates the service and it can start when needed. You will need xposed for Greenify's experimental feature to work

I don't know if this is related but I tried that app to disable services and disabled all the services in google play services.
Gmail and others didn't work, so I enabled them again just like it was before, but now I'm getting a "can't sync contacts" problem in the google account sync panel in preferences...
Seems only contacts is having problems when syncing. Everything else syncs perfectly.
What should I do?
I tried deleting my google account and then adding it again, but no luck.

i try to keep my phone free from google apps but due to requirements of some apps this is not 100% possible. some apps require at least google maps framework. one does not need to install gapps for that. instead you can just copy 2 files to your system (https://sdgsystems.com/blog/installing-google-maps-framework-aosp-android).
i was wondering, if there is a similar possibility to install google location services. again, this is a requirement of some apps like geohash droid. if there is none, i am willing to install google play services, but can anyone explain to me what this software/app does? does it connect to google / phone home / whatever? do i have to register an gmail account in order to activate it?

I have a huge problem with my rooted lenovo z5 (model L78011) with android 9 and ZUI 10.5.254.
I cant use any google app's - simply log in button doesn't work, or it's minimalizing all the time. Probably the reason is Google play services (when i uninstall it apps works, but i cant log in). Also there is a problem with creating google account in my phone.
I've tried to clear data, cache of google play services, framework and other google apps. Also restarted phone, used factory settings few times - still nothing. I used different versions of google play services and apps - still nothing. There is no any pop ups with error number etc.
Can anyone help me with this problem? Which version of google play services is recomennded for lenovo z5? Maybe i missed something.
