Question AOD & Lock screen Notifications - Realme GT 2 Pro

Hi all!
Was wondering if anyone came across this issue: when receiving a notification the screen wakes and I can see the notification but there's never a notification badge on AOD. Also, after unlocking/locking the phone, the notifications don't appear in the lock screen either, only on the status bar once I unlock the phone again
I tried the obvious:
From the settings/Notifications & status bar/Lock screen menu I enable showing app and notification content
From settings/Personalization/AOD/Info enable notifications
Making sure the apps I tested had notifications permissions enabled
Also tried to go into the Screen Lock app settings from App Management (version 12.0.5_d0627d7_210928) and enable all notifications options/permissions but it still doesn't work!
Also there are some threads mentioning this issue since android 11 on r/realme...
Running on build RMX3300_11_A.17.

I have the same issue and i have the same build too, looks like its a chinese firmware bug, because on the global model doesnt happen, ive seen it on youtube, im waiting for a way to unlock the bootloader and flash the global firmware, i hope doesnt take so long

Why don't you preorder the EU model & after a weak or so you send back the CN version ... Problem solved !

Well I found the issue:
AOD notification badges only display if the default system launcher receives the notification first. (with Nova launcher, I never get the AOD notification badges)
Secondly the badge only displays for particular apps, SMS, phone calls shows the badge but not gmail, messenger, etc.
Lastly, once you have unlock the phone, the lock screen (not AOD) will not persist and display those notifications anymore, you'll only see them in the status bar and notif drawer when the phone is unlock.
I really hope we get bootloader unlocking abilities soon. Also wondering if the same behavior occurs on the global ROM with other launchers and with apps other than phone sms etc.

no, the global rom its fine, no issues with the notifications

If someone with the Global version of the GT2 Pro is reading this, if you could extract the AOD app using adb shell command (with developers options turned on) I would like to try and install it.
Bash:
adb pull /product/app/Aod/Aod.apk .
Thanks!

Thank you for this @RedFoXite !
Unfortunately, this apk needs to be pushed to the /product mount which is read only and not user mountable without root access AFAIK.
Guess I'll wait for the bootloader unlock and global rom extract after all!

I've successfully installed the global version aod.apk using 安装狮, which is an third-party installer app that can be activated using adb, shizuku or root access. Now notification badges work perfectly for me. 安装狮 can be found here: Coolapk link, and sorry for my poor English.

You're a legend! I'll give this a try! Thank you so much!

@shyzj666666 I'm pretty sure I got the right version installed, I see the badges in the Settings/Personalizations/AOD screen. But they do not show up in the actual AOD Anything else you did after installing the global apk?
See pics attached.

I did nothing and badges did appear at the first time, but later when I lock my screen again it disappeared again, and it turned out that aod.apk had been replaced by the stock version by the system. It seems that nothing can be done before bootloader unlock has been released officially TAT

I have the problem of AOD being turned on, but not showing up. I set up the phone once and it was working, reset it tho because I wanted to transfer all my apps n stuff. Now, turned on or off, it won't show up. Any suggestions?

You can find multiple threads here or on Reddit saying that Realme/oppo has problems with aod when setting the phone up with an google backup...
I've reset the phone multiple time with or without backup, I can tell it doesn't work with any backup (google or phone clone...)

interesting, cause it worked before even tho I used their phone clone app, only stopped working once I reset everything and restored directly by connecting the 2 phones together when setting it up

I have the GT2 and I am having the lockscreen issue, checked all the obvious settings like in OP.
I sent back an oppo phone because of this and support told me to try reseting system settings but that didn't help.
The AoD is working fine for me however on global.
If anyone knows how to fix this lockscreen issue it would me much appreciated.

Can someone who has the phone and where AoD works check with the SetEdit app what is in the Global Table under "always_on_display_constants"? I have just null written there as a value.

Cannot disable S Planner Notifications!

Am using a UK Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Kitkat and the latest versions of all system and 3rd party apps.
I have Samsung's S Planner notifications switched OFF.
However, if I create an event with notifications using either Google Calendar and/or my preferred calendar, Business Calendar Pro, S Planner notifications still pop up/sound. IE, I get multiple notifications for the same event - very annoying!
Even if I FORCE STOP S Planner, it re-enables itself after phone sleep or reset and the notifications switch back on!
NOTE: The 'Show Notifications' checkbox in the 'App Info' dialog is ON but greyed out, so cannot be switched OFF.
Is this Samsung trying to force their apps on us or is it a bug?
Many thanks!

Simplest way Open app info for S planner... See if the show notifications is highlighted... If yes then untick the option... It'll never show notifications again till you enable it back again...
Alas, it is greyed out

Not rooted, and yes, I have disabled the app using FORCE STOP. It re-enables itself. That is the problem.
(This problem is recent and since some software upgrades from Samsung, and possibly the Kitkat upgrade of a month or so ago.)

Am sure this is a Samsung issue, but many thanks for your help. I know that under normal circumstances, your tips would work, but there appears to be a major bug in S Planner or their underlying firmware. I have found other references to this problem online going back a few years, so it may be unique to specific combinations of Android version, device, apps etc.
I'll write to Samsung and see how good their tech support is!

Hello,
I've got the same problem since the last Kitkat upgrade one month ago on my Galaxy S4.
I've tried lot of things but the S-Planner notification re-enable themselves after phone sleep or reset.
Did you get a chance to have some more informaiton from Samsung support?
Thanks

...and sold my otherwise excellent (but too large to use one handed) Note 3 and bought a used Moto X, which a) Has no notification issues (in fact, it has the smartest notification system of any phone - Android or iOS) b) Fits in hand nicely. c) Is very well thought out.
Bought a Note 10.1 2014 32GB Black LTE for my stylus work, and it's superb. No notification probs, but then I have not installed any 3rd party calendars, it only has S-Planner on it.
solved
Here is a solution that worked on my Galaxy S3: install system tuner pro, go to system apps and freeze s planner, I did it, rebooted, tested and the obnoxious s planner no longer shows up when a calendar event triggers a notification. Probably you have to be rooted.
I had the same problem on a note 2. In my case, it was solved by opening the s planner apps, going to settings, and disabling notifications there.
Hope this helps.

No, that doesn't fix it as notifications turn themselves back on in S-Planner after a while (not even after an app update).
If you remove all calendars from S-Planner (to remove the stimulus of the notifications) then Google Cal doesn't work, which drives aCalendar+ that is my main calendar app. I only use this because in S-Planner you cannot copy an event, if you could I'd stick with that.
Note 3 on Lollipop.
Just to clarify, I opened the splanner apps and then went to the settings within the app to disable notifications. I didn't go to system settings / apps / splanner / disable notifications (I tried that first, but it didn't work).
Strange that it doesn't work for everyone!

I'm using a Note 4 right now. I see what you mean when it gets greyed but what I also noticed is that if you go to the App Manager, you actually see TWO S Planner's. One of them, which is 32.00KB large, has the options greyed out but if you look at the one that's 0.00B large, it will have those options available. I don't know if it works though. I just tried it now.
EDIT: The app is still in the app drawer. So I guess what I'll do is go to menu/Calendars and just disable my google calendar so it no longer syncs.
EDIT 2: Never mind. Scratch everything what I said. This is ridiculous!
Hi everyone,
longobedience is right, it's actually within the app that we can operate S-Planner notifications.

I am still having this issue as well. It seems to be the only app you can't disable and I am really sick of getting 2 notifications for everything (I use Google calander but keeps syncing to s planner no matter what I do).

[MOD][Xposed] EventLock - Calendar events on your lock screen

EventLock
An Xposed module to show your calendar events on the lock screen.
Features
Multiples events on the same page!
Scrollable layouts
Loads of customisations - layouts, scrolls, event color, time format, etc.
Many many presets so you don't have to mess with settings~
Why?
After Kitkat, the lockscreen widgets were disabled and so calendar widget can't be put on the lock screen.
AOSP lock screen for lolipop/marshmallow does not show calendar events on lock screen either.

Is the lock screen AOSP? I think some lock screens are having problems because they are highly modded by the manufacturers. Oh, and thanks for telling me about the version number, it was my mistake, I forgot to change it in the menu.

Hello,
I really like this module but I think it does not use the time zone of the phone/android system but maybe PST.
Could you add settings so we can choose time zone please ?

You will be needing a stock AOSP lockscreen for this to work. It does NOT use notifications.

The event color is fixed by the calendar event. As an example you can create a new event from your calendar and there is an option to set event color.
I believe you all blocks for you are the same color because all of them are either birthdays or festivals. Maybe there is a setting in the calendar to change it.

Right, I've found the error. I'll fix it soon.
Can you help me with the application a bit? It's intended to do these:
* Update all events after midnight, this means the older events will not exist in the list.
* Update the current event(the one in bold) after it ends/or a new event starts, the old event will be sent to left of list.
* Scroll back to the current event when screen is turned off and on once.
Essentially it should show the running event, if there are more than two running events then it should show the one which started later.
If there are no running events then it should show the upcoming event.
If none of above is there, it should show the last "no more events".
Please tell me whether all that happens, I've tried but for me it doesn't work sometimes.

So I have an event that I just went to. It finished an hour ago. The next event starts in 2 hours. I can still scroll back to the last one. Maybe because the one coming up hasn't started yet? Upcoming event shows tho but I can switch to previous if that's what you're asking about?
I also get "no more events" to show up

Mate 10 Pro Gmail Notifications Delay

I just acquired the Chinese version (BLA-AL00) of the Mate 10 Pro and seems to have some problems with notifications. I haven't been receiving most of my gmail notifications (only once did the phone vibrate and a notification pop up on my lock screen) and can only see my emails when l I turn on the phone and open the app. What's the fix for this? Thanks
I'm having same problem with yahoo mail
I've tried things like putting your app as "priority" and a few other things I've read on other websites but still no luck on getting my notifications to work correctly.
I would also like to add that even when I open the app, it can take a few seconds for the new emails to pop up. I'm going to assume this mostly a problem with the Chinese version of the software? The phone didn't come with ANY google apps preinstalled (gmail, youtube, chrome, googles maps, and play store)

I'm a note 8 user same problem that you have but my problem got resolved like this :
I've entered in battery optimization
saw the Gmail app putted to sleep by the battery optimization
Unchecked from there and it worked
Btw should I change note 8 for Mate 10 pro? Or should I keep both?

I'm not sure how to follow those instructions. Anyways, I too was thinking about getting the note 8 or this phone. If I would do it again, I would of gotten the note 8. This phone has given me nothing but headaches.... I'm actually thinking about selling it if I can't get these notifications to work correctly. I just noticed WhatsApp notifications aren't coming through for me either...

I just noticed WhatsApp notifications aren't coming through for me either...

Nope, my notifications still aren't working correctly.
My problem is same no Gmail notifications but wen they do come thru my screen flashes black goes normal and black again until I dismiss email
I believe your problem relates to Huawei's aggressive battery optimisations - check my post on another thread here for instructions on how to resolve it.

Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Apps -> Settings (the cog at the bottom of the screen) -> Special Access -> Battery Optimisation
... then set your critical apps to "Don't Optimise."
I'm assuming by "don't optimize" you meant "not allowed"? The choices are to "allow" the certain app to ignore battery optimization or "not allowed"
Huawei's battery optimization feature doesnt works, launch settings does not works. Its a bull**** phone, and all this huawei optimizations, kills every ****ing app as soon a screen got locked, no matter what seetings i choose, nonetheless with all this huawei ****, battery is still dieing after couple of hours of usage.

I'm not sure whether different regions of the firmware (or differences between Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro firmware) word things differently, or if you're in a different section of the settings - so I've assembled a series of screenshots to make sure we're both on the same page;

Make sure you select "All Apps" from the list (otherwise it'll only show you the apps which aren't getting forcibly killed). The last two screens show the options that come up when you click on an app.
This is on a Mate 10 (ALP-AL00 re-branded to ALP-L29) with 8.0.0.128(C636) firmware.

Doesnt helps. Easiest way to check is an app that does something while off screen. No need to wait for a mail to come.
Here's a screenshot, that proves I disabled battery optimisation, and that doesn't changes anything. As soon I lock my screen, the app is killed, and everything that app has to do, does after I unlock the phone... That's really my last time I buy Huawei.. was really glad about mate 9 pro untill updates ****ed up everything and ruined all phone experience I had. Now the same story with mate 10pro just from the beginning...

I'd dare suspect that the app you have immediately above "Flash Alerts 2" might have something to do with your problems. Have you been manually updating the firmware? Possibly with something which Huawei didn't intend to be installed on your 'phone?
Have you performed a factory reset after installing non-standard (i.e., not supplied OTA) firmware, as you're supposed to? There've been plenty of times during my experimentations with other 'phones that I've flashed new firmware and had very strange results until I performed a factory reset.

AMF is conformed of one app installed on mobile phone and the other on PACE/Stratos watch. No need to root / flash custom ROM
The description / links of the watch app can be found here:
http://www.guatedroid.com/amf/about/
The Playstore app for mobile phone can be found here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guatedroid.amfc
Some features include:
Quick Reply
Emoji Reply
Basic keyboard input
Google Maps Navigation
Vibrate on phone signal loss
clear / dark theme
Translations to: Czech, English, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Spanish
Notify without interrupting your sport activity (it overlays over the running app)
Custom vibration pattern
... and much more.
Hope you like it and find it useful.
Many features are free to use. Some require a small donation to unlock remaining features and help further development.
Hi, can you add notification actions ? ex I have "mark as read" like action when I receive a mail. Just dismiss not mark as read and the phone keep the red number with unread mail in the app icon .
(I use the donate version )

I've been testing this app for about 2 weeks.
The notifications are not displayed in the order you receive them, if you have like 5 messages, you get the last one then scroll to the first, it does not make any sense.
On the watch application the notifications remain on the app, you have to press READ and then clear them all, it must be an option to disable this, because at the end of the day you have like 500 messages there, and that makes the app sluggish.
It reminds me of an notification, but I have that option disabled.
If you get a notification and you get a call, you have to clear the notification to see who is calling you.
This application has a lot of potential. Thanks for your time to develop this, but for me those things made me uninstall the app. I hope you don't misunderstand me.
I will follow this topic and install the newest versions to test them, maybe someday the app will suits me.
I just downloaded the app ... As it was stated before - it have potential, but notifications are not synced when recieved.
I added apps to Approved apps list and still I get vibrated on wild notification.

The sorting order uses the same logic Pebble did on their notification system. That logic says the newest notification should be on top for easy access... (So the oldest is on the bottom).
But as requested there is a new option so users can choose what sorting order they want. If they want the oldest always on top now they can choose.
Also, notifications have a maximum of 120 old ones are automatically deleted from watch. But if you dont want to store at all. There is a new option on AMF phone to disable that.
The updates are going to be released on the following days. Stay tunned.
About the notification thing on a call... Strange... On my stock Pace and a Stock Stratos during testing time all was ok.
Will check that.

After adding the apps to the aproved list, did you checked the checkbox on that page that says: Enable this list?, if not, even if the apps are added the filter wont work.
Thank you! You are the best

Yes I did I stoped recieving wild notifications. The issue is that I recieve the notifications 5 to 10 minutes later.
EDIT:
I found the issue - appearently I have to unlock my phone to recieve notifications. This seems to be related to the wake locks ...
One more issue just found - phone application refuses to connect after certain time.
I like your work, really, even donatetd but I will wait future versions (the current one is unusable for me),

Have seen this issue with some users. The reason is that their phone manages a whitelist of aproved apps that can run on background. If they dont add the app to that whitelist, then the phone force-quit AMF to free ram causing this issues..

Haven't you read AMF website? The instructions are there.
HI MF, very nice work but I'm having same issues like when arrives a notification it only shows when i press a button and not right away. When I'm w/ the screen on does not show the notifications (great) but when I turn off the screen and get a notification it shows all of them that happen when the screen was on and I already check that is very annoying.

Question Any easy solution for the aggressive app killing?

So far I love my new Oppo Find N, great Hardware, Google Pay, Banking Apps, it all works. The hardware is so much better than the Fold3 in my opinion. What keeps me up at night is the aggressive app killing in the background that is known for Chinese Firmwares. I know if from Huawei but Oppo seems to be more aggressive. There are a ton of settings but still, some apps won't give me push notifications as soon as the screen goes dark. You can only select 5 apps to lock/to autostart. Does anyone know a solution, an app oder something else to limit these aggressive processes? So far I think this phone is not able to be a daily driver if you need to read E-Mails, Push Notifications ASAP. I hope this will change soon.
In this thread are a couple of solutions
-> https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-pay.4382345/
Thank you. The problem is: I already opted out battery optimization and I chose the apps I wanna have notifications to run in foreground but it's only allowed for 5 apps... The rest still no push notifications...
This is why it's a bad idea to buy Chinese rom phones. Wait for it to be released internationally.
Couple of things which seem to improve the issue for me. The first is Auto Start your important apps. The second is for other apps, lock them in the recents tray. For both of the above, for each app, allow 'Background Activity' - you can find this in each apps setting (Apps - App Management). Its not fool-proff but I did notice apps that weren't set to Autostart but where locked in the recents tray did start to give me notifications.
Edit: So just to be super clear, lock 5 apps in your recents tray (5 is the limit). Then autostart 5 other apps (5 is the limit). On top of all of this, for those 10 apps, ensure battery optimisation is off, and background activity is allowed. So far all of the apps that are locked in the recents tray are giving me notifications. Effectively this should give you up to 10 apps you can get notification for.

Scrumptyous, have you been using Google messages for your default. If so, any issues with the Find switching to the supplied Oppo messages app by chance. Another poster had mentioned thier Find kept switching the default messages app... Thanks in advance.

It has been trial and error since I noticed it switching back so this is what I have working so far and what will go in my next video.
I set the default to google messages
Lock it to the background to run
Set it as one of my auto launch apps
Do all of the same steps as I did in the video I posted.

This won't work. I've had a Convo with you as to why it won't work and I've given a proper solution in my previous post. Your video is cool in regards to optimisation, notification and background activity so thanks for it, it just needs a little more config.

The issue with this phone is getting notifications for anything beyond 5 third party apps. I'd Love delayed notifications for my apps as at least I get them for ALL apps.
Messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Viber, Instagram are automatically 'allowed' so maybe that's why it seems it works. For third party apps, you need to allow Auto Launch for 5 apps and then at the very least lock 5 other apps in the recents tray. Following your video alone won't solve the issue as you didn't mention Auto Launch so you won't get notifications at all using your method ( unless it's an Oppo approved app). So for a person starting out from fresh they won't get any notifications, let alone delayed notifications.
Question. The 5 apps that can be set, do they actually work the way they should work?

Where you mention 'auto launch' and locking 5 others in recents tray, I hate to ask but can you explain the steps in doing both of those procedures. I am not sure how to do those two things and would appreciate any guidance please in advance.
That being said, to those who already have their Fold N's, is it worth the hassle of having these issues for the hardware itself. I still am waiting to receive mine and am getting some doubts based on these issues. Thanks in advance!

I personally don't think so. For me, Notification issues isn't the issue, lots of Chinese imports have this issue. The main problem for me is almost all android apps are developed in portrait mode. This device is identified as a device for landscape mode. So many apps just aren't properly optimized for it. So even apps that display properly in terms of it's orientation aren't displaying to it's optimum. You can easily see this when you simply turn the device around. It's clear how the app should actually be displayed. It's actually quite funny .
I keep getting this when I receive a message and it switched from the Google messages to the OPPO messagesI've locked it auto started it and allowed background, etc I also can not send group texts in the OPPO messages app it send the text to each person individually any help is appreciated e
