Question AT&T Base Firmware needed for A526U - Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

Hello, looking for some help to see if anyone can help me find the firmware of my A526U specifically for AT&T? I have moved my phone over from TMobile where I purchased it from, and am looking to re-flash it to AT&T. Was working fine for a few months, now I'm no longer able to make or receive calls.
After inserting the new AT&T SIM card, the TMobile splash screen still shows up. The Service Provider software version reflects TMobile still as well and I'm concerned that for whatever reason the phone did not fully update after inserting the new SIM. I spent 2 hours on the phone with AT&T support after the store said they couldn't help me. Pulled the SIM card out, restarted phone, put it back in, reset network settings etc. I've searched sammobile and I cannot find the AT&T firmware, only TMobile, Sprint, and TMK. I would sincerely be greateful please if anyone could help me by pointing me in the right direction for the firmware for this model phone.

AT&T doesn't make their firmware available publicly - for any device. I have a source who can get me Samsung firmware for any USA device - even AT&T. But he charges me for each one

I appreciate the quick response! Is there any option I have here? Could I try flashing a "U1" firmware to his phone then? He's currently on A526USQS4CVA6. I actually found your other post as I was also working on my note 10 plus - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/n975u-and-n975u1-firmware-links-here.3957648/. If I'm reading that correctly, I should be able to correct? If so, how can I tell if the version I'm downloading is "downgrading the bootloader"

1. Yes, you can try flashing U1 if you want
2. You can't "downgrade the bootloader" - Odin won't let you.
3. In A526USQS4CVA6, "4" is the position of the bootloader level/revision/binary. Make sure that whatever U1 firmware you download also has a 4 in that spot and you'll be fine. (Or just get the firmware from Frija or one of the other similar firmware download tools, because those throw you whatever the newest version is automatically)

Thank you very much sir! I shall give this a go this weekend! You guys rock!

My AT&T N10+ N975U is running on Pie. It transitioned seamlessly with no changes made on my end. It was already using 4G VoLTE though. Same sim card.
I would contact AT&T advanced tech support as there may be an easier way.
4G VoLTE needs to be enabled in hidden settings.

Your AT&T phone? So it's originally an AT&T model that you're still using with them? That's not the same situation that the OP is in

The U is the AT&T variant vs the U1 which is the unlocked variant, correct?

Yup. But OP has a T-Mobile model that they moved to AT&T. There's also no guarantee that a Note 10+ will work the exact same way as an A52. You're also running 3 year old firmware, while OP is fully updated.
So i don't see the correlation.

The old firmware works fine on 4G VoLTE... that's likely not the issue. What is the issue is it wasn't running on 4G VoLTE so it's likely the settings and sim card need updating not the firmware.

Hi All, thought I would provide an update... After spending hours on the phone with AT&T support this week and being frustrated with the AT&T store, I decided to proceed forward with flashing the U1 version. What started this all was last week my son could no longer make or receive calls on his AT&T A52 phone (we ported it from TMobile September 2021). The store and AT&T advanced tech support said there were issues with people's BYOD devices, even though the A526U and A526U1 shows on the supported devices list. The store rep said he's been getting people in left and right that can't make or receive calls, and all they can do is upsell customers to an AT&T branded phone.
SO... my son's phone was on A526USQS4CVA6. Startup screen showed TMobile still, even with the AT&T SIM card in it. I proceed to flash the A526U1OYM4CVB2_ATT that I found from Sammobile. Was hoping someone had just the "U" version but I couldn't find this anywhere. When doing the flash, I used the Home_CSC file (I had to download a patched version of ODIN as it was stuck as setting up connection) and when it finished it would just keep going back to the download screen on the phone and I freaked out. I did some more research and decided to flash again using CSC instead of Home.CSC (I did a backup using smart switch on my PC luckily). This WORKED! I'm guessing because the software version he was on was different than what I was trying to flash too so maybe this is why I needed the CSC for a clean flash (there was no user data file that downloaded from SAMMOBILE).
Now, calls are working on my son's phone again! AND his service provider software version now reflects ATT vs TMB! Man this has been one heck of a journey lol. I've seen numerous forums on google of people having the same trouble with me, their BYOD devices not working. Seems a flash of U1 worked for me, so hopefully this helps others out there!

[Q] AT&T to T-Mobile S3

Hey guys. I couldn't get AT&T to unlock my s3 so I downgraded to android 4.1.1 to do the free unlocking method. It worked, but my phone has AT&T apps in it, and when updating it says crap like updating from AT&T server or w/e.
When using ODIN, was I supposed to install the AT&T or the T-Mobile version of the 4.1.1 android?
I figured since it's an at&t phone I have to reinstall the at&t so it doesnt mess up the drivers or anything (I totally made up that conclusion myself).
Also, I don't get 4g LTE now and only get E internet. Do I have to do some settings so the phone cooperates with T-Mobile?
As always, thank you very much for the helping hands.

You're probably going to need to setup the apns for Tmobiles network to work for your phone fully.
It automatically made one called tmobile but I dont know if I have to edit it.
Was I supposed to install android 4.1.1 for at&t or tmobile?

As far as i know you should be fine on the at&t rom, You're just going to need to edit those apns probably.

Well, how about this? I install the T-Mobile rom. Shouldn't that have the proper apns?
Now another question comes to mind. Since this is originally an at&t phone, will installing the T-Mobile rom mess it up?

Verizon SM-G965U on other carriers

It's been forever since I've been here, missed this place. I am practically a noob now.
Here is my scenario:
I have a Verizon-branded S9+ / SM-G965U on the firmware/baseband G965USQ3BRK2. It is paid off, assured it is carrier unlocked and has also never been modified, pure stock. I'm looking to switch carriers from Verizon to another service. It's also my understanding that Verizon phones are a pain in the hiney and there may be issues with data, features, and other nags and warnings because a non-Verizon SIM is in use. Had an S5 that worked on other carriers but was a nightmare to configure.
Will I be condemned to a similar nightmare of nags and warnings, or will it rebrand it's self and allow me to receive OTA updates on the new carrier? Just not sure of what my options are, the search results yields conflicting information where some had to flash some firmware and others didn't.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I converted an unlocked Verizon S9+ to an unbranded, unlocked device, using it on T-Mobile and couldn't be happier with it. You have the option of flashing your own carrier's firmware or the factory unlocked, and it will improve your situation, no more SIM card notifications and all that.
P.S. I was in the same situation as you, used to be on here all the time but felt like a noob all over again. But a super helpful member here guided me through the process and it was completely painless, one quick flash with Odin and it was all good.

Welcome. Looks like there's some instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...icial-stock-firmware-thread-samsung-t3764479. However you will want to make sure you find the patched version of Odin to get past the fact that you are flashing a different firmware than is currently on the phone. And you will want to flash G965U or U1 firmware, that also has a 3 as the fifth number from the end, just as the firmware that's already on your phone.

Thanks for your help and for answering the questions.
Is there any benefit to flash U1 or would just U work?
Would the firmware downloaded using SamFirm work with that version of ODIN you linked?
Do I have to go through a rooting process and install TWRP prior to going ODIN on my phone? Or can I just go into download mode on my device, click yeah about a custom OS, then do the ODIN bit?

The U firmwares are those from carriers and the U1 is from the factory unlocked unbranded variant. so it's up to you if you want your carriers own firmware or just a generic Samsung version. If you need Wi-Fi calling and or volte, there might be a better chance of it working with your carriers firmware but the unlocked firmware does a good job with that as well, I have both of those features working perfectly with the U1 firmware and a T-Mobile SIM. Just make sure to use the CSC as opposed to HOME_CSC, so that your phone is fully wiped and configured for your sim card. I will say one advantage of the unlocked U1 firmware is free built-in caller ID ?
No rooting necessary, in fact it's not even possible on the US models, so just boot into Odin and flash the firmware using the patched version of Odin.

Flashing SM-G9650 (Brazil) into SM-G965U1 (US)?

Hi. I want to flash a Brazilian firmware (dual SIM) into my US hardware (single SIM). Both are Snapdragon. Reason is that I want to use the Brazilian Samsung Pay. Bough the phone in the US but I live in Brazil.
Can I flash THIS ROM without problems? Will it trigger Knox? Any loss in functionality?
Thank you all.

not possible. also, is there not a CSC for your area you can flash instead?
I don't know why these guys say it's not possible, maybe it isn't with your model. I also don't want to give you any bad ideas or anything, so use your own discretion & research.
My phone was unusable when I did this, so I had nothing to lose when I did this (It worked though).
I easily flashed my canadian note 8 with a us firmware using modified odin (must be same version bootloader).
It has warranty status 0x0 (aka, Knox is NOT tripped).
AGAIN, I'm not advising you try this with your model, unless you know what you're doing. I just want to make the information available to you.
Edit: I'm just waiting for someone to upload snapdragon beta 3 one ui 2.0. I'm going to try the same method to convert my Canadian s9+ to USA version.
Edit 2: I can confirm this method works on my Canadian s9+ aswell.

Yeah I don't think it'll work on mine, since it's a single sim phone, and the ROM I wanted was for a dual sim version. Unless of course the hardware is the same and the second SIM slot is present. I could try, but I don't want to risk it. Maybe later when Sammy stops updating the phone.

Unfortunately not. The SM-G965U1 is the US unlocked version. There are only CSCs for American carriers.

if its truly unlocked, then you should already have the U1 firmware on it. Get modded Odin and the U1 firmware, flash it in Odin and go from there. I never looked back after ditching the carrier junk on my phone
Sometime ago I did somethinh like that on my Arabian S7 Edge that I bough in Paraguai, it was Dual Sim model and i flashed ZTO CSC via Odin, and the phone was working well, but i'm not sure if the reverse works, and even the models were similar (F vs FD version) in your case u have 965U vs 9650, I would not take that risk, i thing that a korean or chinese model is 9650 too
look at this picture, US version has more bands so the modem could be different, you can try but you're risking your phone

yep, they are different phones that just so happen to use the same processor. Different bootloader, same chassis for whatever reason. Anyways, there have been threads talking about converting the 9650 to a 965u, but ive never seen anyone confirming that it indeed works. Big risk, but as long as one can get back to Odin mode, one should be good.

Calls not working through Simple Mobile / T-Mobile network

I'm at my wit's end on this. Calls stopped working the other day due to 3G disablement as far as I can tell. AT&T model unlocked and using with Simple Mobile on T-Mobile network. Calls would just say "Calling" for a long time and then eventually disconnect. I could switch to GSM and make calls again, but slow data. Simple told me to get a new SIM and when trying to activate, it shows ineligible IMEI due to no Volte it seems.
I'm trying to get that fixed, but running into various issues.
LM-G850UM
I tried to crossflash (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tutorial-crossflash-bypass-opid-mismatched-error.4345963/)
I flashed G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz but it didn't ask me to change the model, so it still shows LM-G850UM software G850UM30c. IMEI is the same.
Since this didn't get calls back or Volte, I tried updating the MBN (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ther-qualcomm-powered-lg-devices-too.4343655/)
Data shows 4G. Calls don't even try to connect.
I don't know what to do next and don't have much time to try to figure it out. I like the G8X, so I'm hoping there's a way to save it.
Any thoughts from the experts?

I crossflashed to general firmware. Where's the best place for the TMobile firmware? Just off their website? Will that lock the phone again, or will I still be able to use the Simple Mobile Service?

That's where I got my KDZ before. I used the one here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg850qm-firmwares/ and used the 3/24/22 version for Android 11. When I flashed it with LG UP, it didn't ask me to change models, which I'm not sure if that's why it didn't trigger it to start working again.

Most are using the international firmware for the G8 and G8x models.Which is what the qm firmware is.If you're carrier is T-Mobile or any T-Mobile MVNO,I would solely use T-Mobile firmware. My G8x is AT&T branded and factory unlocked, and I tried using Tmobile service about 2 months ago and was having issues sending text messages.I could place and receive calls and get text but couldn't send them period.
Yeah, so my G8X is AT&T unlocked. AT&T didn't activate VOLTE on this model, so when T-Mobile shut down their 3G network, Simple Mobile calls won't work and the current IMEI shows it's not eligible (because of the model.) At least that's my understanding so far.
So for the G8, is this the firmware I should crossflash? https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg820tm-firmwares/ or I could try the QM which may or may not work. Is that correct? Basically going to the 820 firmwares instead of the 850?

I would go with the T-Mobile firmware since you're on their network. It wouldn't make a difference with VoLTE enabled with an AT&T sim.Once you pull the sim,and swap it it defaults back and turns the IMS settings off until it receives the configuration from their servers.Yes,820 firmware. It at least has the higher android builds, and better security patches.Once you put T-Mobile firmware on the device it should all work regardless of IMEI.
Edit:Make a back-up.Don't forget to do that first!
OK Surge....you've been helpful and seem to know what you're doing. What did I mess up?
I followed the cross flash instructions. I flashed the 820QM firmware first, and System loaded but the touchscreen wouldn't respond. I could only use the hard phone buttons. Decided to go to what you recommended with 820TM and it wouldn't boot at all - black screen - but I could still get to QFIL and LGUP.
I reflashed 850QM and touchscreen works again and I'm back to where I started.
When I flashed 820s, It did ask me if I wanted to change model numbers this time and I said Yes. And it asked it said it was changing some partitions on the 820 loads.
I may have been working on this too late. I appreciate your help so far.

I think someone else encountered this once before, and it was caused by certain manufacturering dates of the device. Some models can use 820 firmware, and some can only use 850.Looks as if yours is kind of stuck with 850 firmware only.I think the AT&T version I have I could go either way it worked with no problems.I still have my G8x but never really used it.I bought it because it came with the dual screen attachement, and $125 I took it.Here's my Sprint copy if you want to give it a try. It's a LUNS copy minus LUNS 5 for IMEI information etc.I was in the same boat as you on certain features not working with AT&T at one point myself and had to crossflash the Sprint version of the device. With that being said, try this one from LG Fans first. If that doesn't work, try my LUNS Sprint copy and let me know which ones works the best.

So interesting news....I obviously didn't try making calls last night at 2AM, but apparently reflashing with the same exact 850QM software I used before seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe changing the model to 820 and then changing back to 850? Who knows? That's like the 3rd thing that happened with this process that I have no idea why it started working differently, but hey I'm happy and back up and rolling.
Thanks for all of your help, Surge! I was truly at wits end, and had already ordered a new phone, even though I'm happy with the G8X overall. Now I can return that and keep rolling with the G8X.
Thanks again, you were a huge help and its much appreciated!

Glad you got it working!I run in to a same similar issue with a Note 8 I have, and it being an international unlocked AT&T phone. No calls would work period, and swapped firmware over and over and finally started to give up and flashed the stock firmware back and it worked. It's something that hangs in Android with the changed IMS settings that are sent to the device. It's all odd at the moment with carriers, but nothing surprises me anymore..lol..
"G850QM30c_00_NAO_US_OP_0224.kdz" Is a BPT kdz and is not truly open even though it says, "NAO US OP".
I got the phone working by using "G850QM30b_00_NAO_US_OP_0902.kdz", the "real" open kdz. Everything worked fine after that.

Yes,the firehose will always work regardless of the Android version. Also from what I have read, yes the same procedures work for A12 for root and unlocking the bootloader. As always, backup your firmware before rooting and attempting to unlock the bootloader just in case something goes wrong!

Do you think there is any point to crossflash
USA G850QM40b_00_NAO_US_OP_0805.kdz
on ATT G8X to be used on Tmobile network? I can do the VOLTE patch after rooting it . is it worth the headache?

QM versions are international unlocked versions of the firmware. My branded AT&T G8x had issues sending text messages with T-Mobile service I do remember.I crossflahed my variant with the QM version and it worked flawless after that. But,I do have a full backup copy of the AT&T firmware if I ever decide to put it back.

Question SM-T225 with US T Mobile

Hello
I got this tablet SM-T225 and used it with T Mobile in the US, but the data stops working a lot. some times it shows 4G on the notification but no internet, other times it shows "E" in place of "4G" and very very slow internet or no internet. I tried moving to different location but the same problem, some times work and other times doesn't while the phone and my other tablets work normally. the WIFI works without a problem.
the tablet had CSC CHO and the service provider software version showing OWO CHO
the tablet is rooted and bootloader unlocked.
my questions
is it a tablet problem or this model doesn't work reliably in the us?
or it needs to be flashed with different firmware?
thanks

Seem bootloader ok , firmware ok, try to clean flash with stock.
But now where are you? Chile or US. If live in us why not installed US firmware Region.?
I am in the US and this model is not used in the states by any provider, no firmware for it in US as far as I know https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-T225
I flashed it before with stock firmware (CHO) after I flashed it with magisk patched boot loader but same problem, I will give it another try now. at first when I flashed it with magisk I used in the in the CSC slot HOME_CSC_OWO_ but later I used CSC_OWO_ if that matters.
unfortunately after flashing stock firmware https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-T225/CHO/T225XXU1BVGB same problem.
I have this tablet in the USA on att post paid with a "phone" based sim. It can txt via the native mssgs app or Google messages. It won't make phone calls via the native app. Voip calls over Google voice will work.
Also tmobile sells this tablet as a the sm-t227 and it works fully ont their network

Can't used sm-t225 with your provider. Sorry
I am aware that the 227 is used by T Mobile, but I read a comment on XDA that the Bootloader of 227 used in the US is not unlockable and I went with the 225 to be able to unlock the bootloader
I am returning.
I appear to have basically the same issue. I cqn send texts but mobile data just does not register. I have model T227u that was sold through Fido in canada. I hqve a 12 gb data plan and everything works fine on a phone. (I also have a note 9 that is starting to crap out.)
It is running android 13 and is rooted with magisk 26.1 patched boot img
solution for this issue is to just Flash one of the SM-T225 official firmwares for T-Mobile Europe. (I switched it to using the Poland (T-Mobile) - TPL version. T225XXS2CWA6

Now, that IS interesting, particularly if that conclusion applies to every "unlocked" version of T225 sold in the Western Hemisphere. Mine was sold by Amazon's on line from store, specifically advertised to work as phone etc. Been trying to solve by GSI, twrp root for a while. Getting an "involuntary" refund from Amazon so it's worth trying.
