Download and install the NGCam Mod: https://t.me/s/ngcam
Open the app, swipe down, go to settings
Go to Advanced -> Auxiliary Camera
Activate toggles next to "First Lens" and "Second Lens"
Go back to the main camera interface. On the right side, there will be toggles for 1x (main cam) and 2x (wide cam)

which XML do you use with NGCam? Because the real difference usually come from that file.

I installed BSG 8.1 GV1z: MGC 8.1.101_A9_GV1zfix from the link below and the wide angle is working fine eventhought it is stated as 0.6×.

Thank you, this works very well. However, I would like to know if there is any way to enable the Macro feature (available in the original Moto camera). I've tried modifying the configuration, with manual Focus and activating the Third Axilliary Camera (which resulted b/w, by the way) but I couldn't achieve it.
If someone has any info about that, or another config, I would be extremely grateful!

So can you put in an upscaler which will upscale the video from 1836p to 2160p?? if it is possible then its a great thing, or can you increase the bit rate of the 4K recording, so that it can store details near to native/up scaled 2160p..... btw thanks for taking your time and fixing the camera for Le 2, really appreciate it!!!

can i install it even im not using the original rom??
Great camera experience, using this as part of PixelExperience. Reporting on 24/12 build, very stable most of the time, but some random tinkering and switching back and forth froze and and eventually force closed the camera. Camera would FC upon reopening and hard reboot reset time and date. Will try to reproduce this and provide logs.
Otherwise, 16MP with 4:3 aspect ratio would be the very sweet cherry on top, maybe there's a chance you can make it fly

Install magisk and then flash the provided .zip module through magisk......after that install the provided GCAM .apk.....

Magisk is a software firmwork which helps you to control internal working of the roms, systemlessly....
Magisk Manager is the software which helps you to control Magisk and manage the modules installed.
You need magisk firmwork flashed through a custom recovery before hand, to make Magisk manager work, so that you can add modules and other fixes.....

You need magisk installed before, you can use magisk manager to install the modules.....

Did you try rear portrait mode on a person?? Cause as far as I know, portrait mode works only on people and not on objects....try doing that.... Lens Blur is what you need to blur backgrounds of objects....

Really good mod. I'm running it on LineageOS 15.1 and it works very well (some rare crashes, but mostly when navigating to Photos, not when taking pictures or recording videos). Night sight is a godsend for our device and it's crappy-on-low-light camera.
On the subject of making a great mod even better, do you have any plans to also implement support for slow-motion in this mod?

Slow motion is broken because of the drivers and not the app.
Probably the best Gcam mod around and the only one that is stable on pie roms. So, um will you update this mod anytime soon? Anyway you could add 4:3 16mp 2160p 4K mode? 11.9 mp is good but why isn't the rest of the pixels being used. Potriat mode works perfectly. Sometimes (rarely though) there is a greenish tinge to my photos. Another thing. Can you unlink it from Google photos? I mean on tapping the shot picture, it opens in photos. Can you link that to gallery instead because it takes a lot of time to load google photos on my phone. Also, when I add this app as shortcut on the lockscreen,and try to access it directly without unlocking the phone from lockscreen, it says that there is an error and camera doesn't have proper permissions and that I should grant it all permissions in settings. On checking in settings, all permissions are already granted. Can you look into that ? Otherwise a really great Job. Keep it up!

Install via TWRP. Sometimes magisk doesn't recognize a zip as a magisk module. If you install via twrp magisk will be invoked automatically.

Just change saturation yourself in settings for the lenses you wish. You can tweak every setting to your liking.

I tried this one, works fine (especially the 4k60, which phone is obviously capable of), except for the Night Sight, the photos are so bad in that mode, much much worse than stock Night mode. Which is already by far the worst aspect of the camera on this model. I hope improved GCam comes out that doesn't mess the Night Sight.
Nice cam. Really like the 4k60. But the image stabilisation isn't working for me. Any specific config file I should be using?

Bsg gcam should detect the macro sensor automatically but if not find the camera id in app like Device Info HW and enable it in gcam settings.

Post screenshot of the viewfinder of gcam to see the available buttons. If the 1.9 is the macro camera it will focus only on short distance up to 10cm.

4K60 is not working for me for the above mentioned build.
After 03 seconds camera stops recording by itself and the video is not saved on the gallery

Do you mean you have EIS working in other resolutions? I wish I had EIS working at all. I tried so many different gcam versions. Tried so many configs and settings too... I asked here, I also asked on the gcam Telegram group. Never even got an answer...

Oversharpening effect on Zenfone 9 is very strong. Every Zenfone 9 user should inform Asus that they aren't happy about it on Asus forums:

Working front, rear cameras. Haven't test everything. But so far so good. Wide angle works too. No config applied
The stock camera auto HDR pictures are way to overexposed. This is just an example I took this morning. I prefer the gcam output.
I will post about this in the Asus forum once I have more time.

The GCam makes photos look way better - how ever I'm not knowledgeable enough about the configs to know how to fix. The 8.1 Wichaya version seems to work the best. Though video modes still feel sluggish in the viewfinder. A lot of delay from moving the phone.
I also can't select the main 773 sensor in the noise reduction section. It's simply not there as an option.
Oh well. It seems to work otherwise. Slow motion and 50MP RAW has been disabled for now from Wichaya.
This guy evidently got GCAM working and notes improvements over native camera app.
Has anyone how things are with android 13? The Gcam is way better, but cannot be used for all purposes, I wish Asus just fixes the heavy post-processing so I can use the native app which is great by the way.
I just joined Android 13 beta program from my Zenfone 9. No ROM yet, but will let you know when they start rolling out.

Enabled 50MP for video and slow mo only (partially working)
Just my 2 cents for wichaya.
The photo is tricky (but ugly) and the purpose was to demonstrate that the Asus process is not on par with the Gcam for color rendering and HDR.
The reds (box, chair and dress) are much more realistic on the Gcam shot. Same for the woody wall.
And look at the sky....

I'm using Wichya's Gcam mod + zenfone8/9 config. You have to take the photo in "Portrait" mode.

In the app, you Setting -> Advanced -> XML config -> Import XML config (and you import it).
Before it will allow you to import, you also have to give the gcam the "All Files" permission.

Oh I worked out the problem. It only applies portrait mode to photos of people, not to other objects. I remember this was the case with the original Google Pixel 1 that I had.
Is it the same for you?
It doesn't pick up my dog, which is a bummer.

Sadly, I don't have a pet to check
It works on my front and rear camera in vertical or horizontal orientation. It only works this way in "portrait" app setting (so chosen from between Night Sight/Portrait/Camera/Video/more...).
I've provided you the link to the config file too. It's an .XML file in the previous comment.

Yes I got it thank you very much. I have a Pixel 6 too, and the portrait mode on that (and camera in general) is much better so I may just stick with that for now.
@eVen123 the config you link to is the one for Zenfone 8. Am I correct there is no Zenfone 9 config yet?

Thanks mate but this Parrot force closes. I found MWP version specifically made for Pixels.
