MicroG is installed by default, which is an open source replacement of the Google Play Services. So every app that depends on google services should still work normally.

It's an alpha don't expect everything to work. Catch a logcat and I'll see
let's just remember that this is the very first build of android 12 available for this device, so it's not stable enough for daily usage yet and is mainly used for testing, reporting bugs only

This ROM uses the same fonts as LineageOS 15.1 and then it will display the same bugs, so do not ask what its bugs are.

BT works in general, my headphone also works as headset (microphone and speaker), just media over bt is not working, so no a2dp.
Car audio is not tested, but I did not find a (aosp based) custom rom with working car-bt so far (for J5).

I use the same kernel as the unofficial LineageOS 15.1, so yes, zram should be there.

I did not use tioguda's build, because mine was already running, when he first published it, but as far as I know he used the same device-tree and (most likely) the same Validus-tree, so no big difference (if at all).
According to his screenshots, the kernel was the same, but build with gcc 4.8 (or 4.9) mine is build with gcc 7.2.

Flashed this rom on j500h, everything is running smooth. But after flashing magisk, magisk maneger is not opening, just stuck at its logo. Any solution?

Hi jenslody, yes, that was a clean flash. It was my first time testing out this ROM.
I have 3 things to say:
1. The Lawnchair app drawer now works. Probably something glitched out, but it works now.
2. Thank you so much for bringing Pie to the old J5 family! <3333 I already clicked Thanks on your OP post.
3. Not sure if you accept feature requests, but it'd be lovely if you'd make the Recents not lag when you have more than 2 apps open.

The home-button issue is a rom issue and will most likely be fixed soon. For the moment you can use WaveUp (I use it from F-Droid.org) to wake up your phone (and more).

Feature request in general are problematic, because it's official and the rom should be consistent.
But that's not a feature request but an issue.
(Un-)fortunately I don't see it, but I have all animation scales set to 0.5 (from 1) in developer options, this might be the cause for the difference, besides this it can depend on the used apps and their ram- and cpu-usage of course.

No such issues here, can you flash Magisk and try to reproduce the issues?
Also do note that I don't support any custom kernel for now.

Got Bootloop twice after flashing.
I followed the instructions from the first post,
1)Clean Dalvik, Cache, System, Data
2)Flashed firmware 3.6.1
3)Flashed Rom and Gapps together the first time, and the 2nd time I flashed them separately.
4) Rebooted system..and got Bootloop..!

i installed magisk 20.0 and made the log with that and no i didn't use custom kernel
Maybe because i installed magisk at first boot

Wipe again and flash rom+gapps at once then reboot, if you do that it's impossible to get bootloop.
Make sure you have twrp 3.2.1 official, also if you flash a big gapps package it will take a while to boot, it doesn't mean it's bootlooping.
If you followed that and still have bootloop get logs.

Try a clean flash with just rom+gapps, flash magisk after you did the initial setup.

It's a patch that allows an app to fake it's signature to pretend to be another, and is implemented in a way that the user has to grant the app permission to do so. It is mandatory for using microg in lieu of google's play services, for those of us who (rightfully) distrust google.

Instructions
At least MarshMallow bootloader is required or you will not be able to boot the rom !
Latest stock firmware is recommended before installing this rom, even if it might work with older versions !
You have to reboot one time after first boot to make mobile data work.
Use the TWRP from the download-link for your device above (needs to be flashed from existing TWRP, or use ODIN version)
Download the latest build
Put it on your device
Reboot to TWRP
Take a full backup
If you want to be sure wipe the device
Flash the latest build
Clean Cache and Dalvik if you want

Easily rootable with the great Magisk (stable) by @topjohnwu.
I use it as daily driver without major issues, except mobile data (see above).
I use microG as google replacement and for push-services, signature-spoofing is already build into the rom but need to be enabled in "Settings -> DerpQuest -> More" and granted in microG-Settings or "Settings -> Apps & notifications -> Permission manager".

I did not (yet) test dualsim on my j5xnlte.
I will do it this evening/night (UTC+2), I'm on-call this weekend and can therefore not test it during the day.
This works for me on my test j5xnlte:
It doesn't matter which sim is your data-sim.
Before setting your data sim to 3g or 4g (aka LTE):
make sure to set 2g as preferred network on the sim you do not use for data.
The data sim can then be set to whatever you want.
Never ever try to change the sim after you started a call, if you do so you most likely have to restart the device to make things work again.
Before restarting the device you can try to set both sims to 2g and switch the data sims twice (easiest way with the QS-tile)

It should not harm in most cases.
It's a bug with selinux-rules, but does not show a denial.

Lawnchair often lags when you install it as a system app
Just try other launcher until next update
And please don't expect performance at this rom's stage

A bit sluggish
It is a bit sluggish compared to LOS 17. Hopefully it will get faster. I love this rom and its customization.

How to Install :Due to broken setup, to perform an installation of this ROM follow the next steps
1.- Download the latest ROM file from above
2.- Download this userdata zip, unzip the file and restore it from TWRP
3.- Flash the ROM file for your device
4.- Reboot and enjoy android 13

Is the other sim slot working good for you?
I've been using sim 2 slot calls on my j5 2016 and call sound is working fine
