I received March security update on March 14th on my A52s. I see no performance, battery or any other issues.
Anyway if Samsung messed with software on purpose i doubt all those users would go and buy newer Samsung phone again. It's a reach..
A52s is a better device anyway with 778G instead of that Exynos. And it has 3.5mm jack.
Well,my a52 became laggy.Don't know is it because of samsung updates or intalled/uninstalled apps during time or some google bul***** but it happened with every midrange I bought in the past...

Well A52 has way slower CPU and i would advise against updating to newer Android on midrange phones anyway. Updating definitely does slow down phones, but it's not like Samsung is doing it on purpose..
Xiaomi for example isn't updating mid range phones to android 12, but instead offering new MIUI 13 coupled with Android 11. Samsung should start doing something like this.
Similar is with Windows i have couple of older machines that work great on 7, fast and snappy, but on 10 or 11 are just unusable.

Then i don't know i honestly don't have a problem. Did you try clearing cache from recovery, that's something i usually do every time i do a major update to newer version.
I believe it's possible to downgrade with Odin yes. Tutorial
When i bought A52s i instantly got the oneui 4 update and updated so i really can't compare it if it would work faster on oneui 3.

I patched the ap tar from the last 11 A528B firmware. Did an install of the patched ap, cp, bl, and the csc tar not home one. Presto i had 11 on phone rooted. Used zygisk and safety fix 2.2.1 and lposed zygisk and all is good. Firefds R and GravityBox R working great....so yes you can go back to 11 and I am fine with the dec security patch.

Did Apple not get sued, for doing something like this.. They made the phones batteries go south, just so people would buy a new one.. I'm planning dumping this phone by the end of next month.. I'm not sure what I'm getting but it will not be a A53.

in the end OneUI is just android and we know android updates are always a joke, see Pixel 6/Pro, Oxygen/ColorOS, MIUI and etc...
I've had no significant issues with my A52s after any of the updates, just the odd bug/glitch. I wonder how much of this is down to individual apps not behaving nicely with the update, giving the impression that the problem is with Samsung's software.

Not really unless you've made lots of modifications such as using the xposed framework.
But it also depends on what phone you have, I'd say shouldn't be an issue if you a decent phone. Even the Moto E 2015 performs quite well..
I personally haven't had lag issues on my Z Ultra..

It really depends on the mobile people use, If you say Samsung is the top brand, it still lags (even if it's a top brand). The latest Android versions now a days seems to be turning into a crap, really ! Let's see how marshmallow android update does its work....
Depends on the phone and update as well as what apps you have, just to name a few things. There is nothing inherent in Android itself that causes lag.

Definitively ... yes and no matter what ... sooner or later any device will lag or drain battery as hell.

I have to say, my Samsung is surprisingly a crap!! It always lag perhaps because its small rom. Need to grab a new phone, how you guys think about Huawei phones?

.1 updates rarely have anything in them that aren't nexus and pixel related. all the stuff for none pixel devices tends to be in the security patches, hence why for the most part samsung rarely if ever updates to them anymore.
the only release devices on the .1 variant as a selling feature as lots of thick people think it's better to have 8.1 than 8.0 so they upgrade a s9 to a note 9.
it's all PR and in no way an actual upgrade

Sure, BT battery levels would be nice, but, the device has to support it, and I'm pretty sure Samsung baked it in anyways. LG I know did on my old v20.
The only other notable thing is the fingerprint deactivation after X failed attempts. Nice and all, but for someone frequently forgetting to dry a finger first, I'm not even sure I'd use it.
Now if it was some huge memory leak or something, sure, let's get 8.1 to the masses, but Samsung is struggling with security patches. There's really no reason to invest in testing 8.1 for the few things it adds.
Honestly the biggest thing I am looking forward to is the limited notification sounds per second. Nothing is worse than coming out of Android Auto to 45 seconds of notification sounds. I can mute the phone for a moment to bypass this, but it would be nice if I didn't have to use a workaround.
The only thing I want is dark theme in settings menu which is baked into 8.1

No it isn't....... Even the Pixel hasn't had the option to switch dark mode for the notification shade until the latest Android P Developer preview

The update to 8.1 on Nexus improved battery and performance. Others may argue differently, but I would like to see it come to the S9. Major releases are always buggy and is the code that was developed to meet the deadline. The intended functionality usually comes out in the x.1 release.

In my experience my Pixel XL microphone stopped functioning the day after the v9 update. I went through troubleshooting with Google and could not get it to work in safe mode nor after a factory reset. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty so they shipped out a new phone overnight. The replacement phone did update to v9 but I did not let it re-install all my apps from a backup. I then did a factory reset and reinstalled the apps and the phone seems to be stable now.

Don't know. Pixels were the first to get the Pie update for those of us on Project Fi and some of the other carriers seeing they are Google produced phones. I guess we'll see as the update broadens out beyond the Google phones to other platforms. Note this has affected both v1 and v2 Pixels. So I'd be surprised if it is something specific to Pixel. We'll just have to wait and see as more manufacturers roll out Pie.
It does appear that doing a factory reset after the install does resolve any issues. Unclear why this would be necessary. But the refurbished Pixel XL I received is running on Pie as good as the 8.1 Oreo I was running before on the original phone. Might be worth waiting until 9.1 is released until they work out all the bugs. Why did I upgrade the refurbished Pixel XL? Because once it did the backup to Google I could not downgrade my Pixel XL. Otherwise I'd have had to start from scratch reinstalling all the applications. By upgrading it to Pie I was able to have Google simply restore all the apps. Though I had to re-login to all the apps which was a real PITA but that is part of moving to a new phone.
My wife's Pixel has alerted her to the Pie update and she has prevented it from installing. While we do have a backup Moto G6 seems to be a waste of money to upgrade to Pie as I had to pay the $99 deductible on the extended warranty to get my Pixel XL replaced. Hopefully now I'm good for at least another 18 months before I need to purchase a new phone. These Pixels were pretty expensive.

It has been the experience with the S1 and S2 that Samsung would provide updates to the major releases of Android that came out within two years from the date of release of the tablet, however possibly with major delays. For example, it took Samsung something like one year and a few months (since Marshmallow was announced) to release the Marshmallow update for the S1, so beware.
I don't think we get Pie as neither Samsung or the community cares about the tab s3, this is a ghost device!
But we will get it.. 2 major updates that is Samsung's policy

It all depends on the sales volume for the Tab S3. If the release of the Tab S4 leads to certain price reductions and the Tab S3 becomes more popular, then, yes, it is quite possible that it may be upgraded to Android Pie. Otherwise, I do not really believe that this is really going to happen. Unfortunately, Samsung has dramatically overpriced the Tab S4 and it may not feel the "necessity" of price reductions for the S3. Who knows!! Let's wait and see.

For the purpose described, the Tab S3 is the smarter buy. Really, you would get very little for the additional money. I am not sure that your mom would have any use for Dex (and frankly, I do not have such use either).

Considering that Samsung has not discontinued the Tab S3 and that it is still actively selling it as a lower cost alternative to the S4, I think that it would be proper to provide an Android 9 upgrade, considering that many are actually just now buying the device.

Q is no big deal anyway. There isn't a whole lot going on with it other than Google will be able to release security updates via Play Store with their new Project Mainline. It will also give the Pixel kids something to run around and squeal about because we know how they get all puffed up when they can say they got it first. ?

Yeah, it's true that Android Q hasn't a lot of new stuff.
No need of it now.
But, there's many manufacturers who participate to the beta. I don't understand why a big player like Samsung isn't on the list.

I've been through 2 betas with Samsung and before that I was in 3 or 4 with Motorola. To be honest, Samsung doesn't have a clue on how to run a beta program. When we reported problems in the Samsung Members app, the best we got if anything at all was to submit a report through the app to the developers. As far as I know no one got feedback other than we're looking into it. Everything I reported with the S9 carried over to the Pie final. Motorola had a dedicated forum with moderators that actually passed feedback back and forth. I even spoke with a software engineer two times.
Beta with Samsung is sort of here it is, hope it works. :laugh:
well,i was hoping samsung can update a new full screen gesture like android Q , MIUI 10 , oneplus 6's or maybe just build-in one hand operation in next firmware. and faster fingerprint scanning,it really sucks when you try so hard and it just not unlock the phone

Not sure I agree here. I'm running it on my Pixel 3 xl and it has many noteworthy features. There is live caption which let's you get real-time transcriptions of what is being said on any video, in any app, across the entire OS. There are systemwide UI changes like dark mode and improved gestural navigation and the back button; over 40 updates to the way security, permissions and privacy agreements are handled. Also, there are improvements to Android's security which will make them come faster thought the Playstore (Project Mainline), better parental controls, new Notification Assistant that will help you reply to incoming chats and other minor stuff. In my opinion, it is by no means a small upgrade, specially when you consider it is still in Beta 3 and will probably add even more features. So far, it runs smooth as butter for me and had great battery life.

If it follows historically anything like previous generations of Samsung phones it should arrive to the S10 family sometime next year in February or March... Just in time for Google's Android R first preview release.

? I'm buying a new high branded product to have one of the best smartphone. I'm here because I want to share my experience and to find informations from others.
What I see is that almost others brands are offering beta firmware to users and faster updates than Samsung. Why do we have to accept this?
I owned some Samsung devices in the past. Finally change my P20 Pro to try S10. But Samsung was not faster than before on updates, maybe slower.
My girlfriend know nothing about cellphone and don't care about updates. But, if you're here man and you don't care about new characteristics, what are you doing here?

You accept it because that's pretty much the way Samsung has always been and not anyone here is going to change that. When someone buys a Samsung phone, they need to accept that as a condition. I would bet money that the majority of users worldwide care less about updates as long as their phone works reliably.

Other brands may very well offer beta firmware and if what you want is for firmware to come out quickly then I suggest next time you get one of those devices but what I said was be patient, it will eventually come out. You shouldn't be here just to whine about updates not coming out, I've been on XDA for nearly ten years now and it annoys me when people complain about the speed of updates. You should want a complete update without bugs and that takes time, making a post about it won't speed up the release and just clutters up the feed.
Samsung if you see has alot of devices to take care of. They release security patches on monthly bases to phone ranging from 100-max$ they have. Also the one ui which is very heavy skin needs to be fully usable and bug less in new android q. I myself have tried betas and didn't find anything usefull expect bragging in front my friends. Apps run same or maybe 1-2% faster in Q.
With Android betas you can download a new CPU & more RAM to your device so this is why it's so important to get it quickly from the manufacturer.

I'd like to get to as close to vanilla as possible. Not a fan of Samsung's ui or bloat. I'm coming from the tab s1 which had some pretty good roms. There are none for this device and it's almost 6 months old. I would make one myself but lack the necessary skills
Most of the newer top end Samsung Tablets get very little developer support since they cost so much. Happens with every new tablet having people asking where the developer support is for it. Samsung newer UI much nicer and any vanilla roms would take away most of the functionality that makes the tablets great. Apparently the S5e has some dev support.
Problem is Samsung seems to be super slow with there updates for the S7.
I've owned the S7+ SM-T970 for like just a week and I'm already feeling impatient waiting still running off the Oct. update while I keep hearing about about UI 3.0 update hitting there flagship phones.

Not everyone gets the update at the same time (don't know how they handle when and who should receive the update). I only got a November update a few days ago (though some claimed to have already gotten it) and it offered few improvements. The tablet still feels the same as usual.
As one must choose between custom ROMs and Knox (especially warranty), I'm currently at a loss myself, and for the time being I haven't heard of anyone trying (or succeeded in) booting a GSI on S7/S7+ probably because of this, although it's theoretically possible (again thanks to Treble). At least we now have TWRP... it might be better if one day custom kernels become available.
So far this is the only tablet I know that can offer 120Hz display. My current phone (Razer Phone 2 which is also 120Hz-capable) still doesn't have a specialized ROM but I can already run GSIs on it with adequate performance. For new devices, going for GSI might be easier, but performance-wise it still has a way to go compared to specialized ROMs.
Think it has to do with the fact that snapdragon is locked on samsung
