Tether breaking - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

I use WPA-3 Personal, 5.0 GHz, identification as portable hotspot.
None of the settings change anything with the issue I'm having, the issue is, that very often when I connect to the network on my PC and do any amount of traffic (send around 1mb of data), my pc shows that I disconnect from the WiFi, but phone shows that pc is still connected, trying to connect on PC back to the WiFi it just said could not connect, and only fix is keep trying changing random settings that automatically turn off/on the hotspot, it never fixes if turning it off manually, nor does restarting the phone itself. Been happening since day 1, there's a lot more weird issues but that's another few hundred words to type and they seem to not happen atm.

Want to say that, it just happened while typing that too

[Q] Wifi and the recent ICS leak

I just installed the recent ICS leak and all's well so far, save for one little thing. i have an airport extreme at home, and while it appears to connect to my wifi, it's not listed on my AE's connected devices. furthermore, i still have the 4G LTE icon as well as the wifi icon. So, it seems that it's still using 4G. I've tried the wifi other places and all seems well.
Also, when i FORCE it into wifi (put in airplane mode, turn on wifi) it works fine.
Any ideas?
rats... was going to post a screen cap. i guess i have about 5 more posts to go before i can.
maybe now?

interesting... another AE at work, set up pretty much just the same, but i can see in the airport utility that it IS connected, but same result here... 4G LTE icon next to wifi.

GT-I9300 Inconsistent WiFi Connection

When I connect to any WiFi AP with my phone it connects normally but when I try to download big files either from the Play Store or using the Browser the WiFi just stops sending and recieving data.

As you can see in the Image when was pain in the a** to upload the WiFi bar doesn't show data being sent or received by the arrows. This problem really annoys me for example while downloading a game from Play Store it stops somewhere in the middle then I have to go back and browse to a website which brings the connection back to life and it finishs downloading the remaining.
I'm on Archi's CM12 Weekly 9

Is it a problem with my WiFi AP? Or any AP I connect to? Or it's a problem with the device itself?
Thanks in advance

Wifi reciever constantly on?

My battery recently started draining ridiculously fast (like 20‰ in a half hour) with only regular use.. I assume its from the fact i noticed the wifi seems to constantly be turned on.... Except its not actually turned on by me. In the picture, the mobile network is clearly turned off because i had my phone in airplane mode for two hours, but wifi is still active.

I have the advanced settings "scanning always available" for google play etc turned off. Although i assume it is still searching for a signal through some app or setting as battery does drop significantly slower when wifi is actually turned on and being used. I have not installed any apps or changed any settings that i am aware of since this started happening.
Is there perhaps an app i could use to check my phone and see what else may be causing wifi to be constantly on?

Wifi turns off when I leave house/office

I've had my V30 for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed something strange happening. When I get to work and get home from work, it seems that wifi has shut itself off and has to be turned back on before I connect to the networks at both locations.
I've gone into battery settings and power saver is off. In the wifi settings, the option to turn off wifi when the screen is off is disabled. I can't figure out why it's doing it. I'm running the AT&T version of the LG V30 with build number N2G47H. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Look under Settings/device/smart settings.
I actually have that turned on, on purpose. I don't want my phone trying to connect to Wi-Fi networks without my permission, especially my corporate Wi-Fi.

I need an external antenna

I regularly use my Mi A3 at my desk (inside). Unfortunately this leads to a massive reduction in dataspeed compared to outside my door. Would an externat antenna fix this and, if so, how to I install one?
You use a cell phone signal booster, it's wireless.
My cell phone is my modem. My ISP signal comes to the phone and transfers via Hotspot to a tp-link connector and thence into my PC. It is data flow to the PC that I am really interested in.

Desk is where the PC is. All the other locations are within ten minutes bus ride from home. Is the 'cell phone signal booster' going to help?
Not sure... it may not.
Voice calls don't use that much bandwidth.
Thanks. I'll check the signal strength at those other locations.
