Galaxy J6 stuck at logo bootloop after "rooting" - Samsung Galaxy J6 Questions & Answers

Hello there!
I installed TWRP recovery mode on my phone in order to root it, I watched a very goog tutorial (
) on how to do it. After installing Magisk, my Galaxy J6 is stuck at logo bootloop, I uninstalled Magisk but it did not help. I tried to wipe data, format and everything from TWRP, but it did not work.
How do I fix my phone??

You can access download mode?
Then I recommend to restart from scratch by using Odin to flash latest Stock ROM (get it via samfirm_reborn).

Yes I can access it. What would the Stock ROM do for the phone? I am just curious and don't want to mess my phone anymore

Now I see, do you think it will work after wiping data using TWRP recovery?? USB-debugging was turned on before the reset, do you think it turned off?

Don't understand your question.
You wrote you've wiped already and it didn't help.
In download mode USB-debugging doesn't work anyway.
As system is wiped it can't work imo.

Thank you for the link, but there is no file with the name Stock ROM or firmware or something like that. How am I supposed to download the Stock ROM to my laptop??
Please bear with me, I know I am aksing to much

@mahaci7363 use samfirm to download stock ROM from Samsungs servers.
Check "binary nature"
Unzip the file you'll get into 4 o 5 different files (AP, BL, CSC aso)
Start Odin and insert the files appropriately.

@bmwdroid Thank you so much! Then all I have to do is start Odin and wait for the installation (I believe I should be in download mode). Can I use Sammobile? (Found a firmware for Nordic countries - this is where I live) In Samfirms I did not find a version for Nordic countries.
I really appreciate your help! Thanks mate!

Download mode is necessary for using Odin.
Sammobile can be used as well, but sometimes it only gives you a one part file which might not help as much as the multiple part files you'd get using samfirm.
Which region code did you try there? NEE?
How to Find Your Samsung Galaxy CSC Region Code? - KrispiTech
CSC stands for Country Specific Code. It is needed to download firmware for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and we can find out what ours is in
krispitech.com
Device type SM-J600F ?
Never happened for my eight devices that samfirm didn't find the stock ROM.
One part file has to be put in AP on Odin.

@mahaci7363 you seem to be right.
Just tried myself and with J600F I couldn't find any.
That's peculiar.
So you have to rely on sammobile.

My device type is SM-J600FN, but it is okay, I can download the SM-J600F version.
Isn't CSC the same as the build number?? In that case, I copied it before damaging my phone: J600FXXUACVC2.
I found a firmware version for J600FXXUACVC2 but its region is Iraq, which is really strange, since I live in Sweden and bought the phone from Sweden. Unfortunately I did not manage to find the CSC code, in downloading mode I don't see information about my device, I only see this: (check the image).
Can't I just choose the version Nordic countries or is it going to damage my phone more?? In that case, I can download the Iraq version which has the same build number as my J6

Edit: I did not see your comments before this comment, thanks for the help @bmwdroid ! I really appreciate it!

@bmwdroid the downloading instructions on sammobile:
Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL,
CP in CP, HOME_CSC in CSC). Do not tick any extra boxes. The only
options to be ticked are F. Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
What is meant with the option F? I don't find any options in Odin.
Edit: I found it

Bricked Galaxy S4 GT-I9506

***Problem Solved***
Hi experts,
My Galaxy S4 GT-I9506 is bricked with this error:
image 1 (attached)
It doesn't go to recovery mode anymore now!!!
First I tried to install custom Rom to root it with Odin, it did seem fine with "green pass" but didn't actually install any recovery mode (there wasn't any install option in recovery mode, there were only update options), nothing happened to phone at all and it worked normal.
Second i wiped the phone and cache and I download the firmware from Samsung website.
and after try to install, it failed in Odin:
Images 2 & 3 (attached)
I'm not sure but I think it was a wrong firmware, because I bought my phone online (kogan.com i think it is in Hongkong) and I downloaded the Australia Vodafone firmware (as I'm using Vodafone sim card).
anyone can help me?!
I should mention that phone doesn't go to recovery mode, failed in Odin, Kies can not fix it! the drivers all are up to date and no Antivirus runs in my PC.
Please someone help me.
Thanks & regards
Tesius

Tks - I have tried many ROMs from different counties (other ROM or even Kernel, etc...) and upload does not seem to work in ODIN. When you find the right country ROM, did it suddenly work in ODIN?

yes, there are different operator in one country, first u have to find out in which operator of which country your phone is supported, then download the ROM from sammobile, make sure of using last version of Odin, and maybe it takes longer than u expects, for me last about 9min to get the Pass sign...
i had the same problem..so try downloading GT-I9506_501_Stock-Recovery_XXUDOF2 that file from internet and extract..and then flash it using odin..it worked for my s4 gti 9506...

Ive tried not flashing the boot loader.
Ive tried using the appropriate PIT
Tried different cables and usb ports as well.
edit: the phone was encrypted and had the reactivation lock on as well
Thanks for any replies

You can boot into download mode on the phone?
Holding the volume down and power button at the same time? If so..
Use kies air, it will say that the phone is unsupported but still navigate to emergency firmware upgrade and put in the device model and S/N number located on the back of the phone or on the box, hope this works for you

Is it showing as only 16GB capacity or 16GB free memory left? Sometimes rarely flashing custom rom can mess up partitions. Flashing stock will fix this.

Hi sorry for reviving this thread. i am having the same issue as OP and wanted to ask. i have an s6 edge plus and i rooted it to make it easier for me and wanted to go back to stock rom. so my cousin brother flashed it for me and it ended up having 16gb storage like the OP.
I was wondering is that the same thing as flashing stock or thats another thing?
I used odin3 3.12 today to flash saudi arabia version and it still shows 16gb. If its not the same thing as flashing stock rom, how do i go about doing it?
Thank you very much

I also wanted to ask when i click on odin3 3.12 Pit tab, it says its only for Engineers. That kind of caught my eye.
Is it a risky thing using a pit file? as in a chance of bricking the phone or its just a warning odin3 gives?

The one you tried to flash with 4 files you need to flash all files not just one. Thats why it failed.
I have seen this happen before and it should flash the partition back to 32GB after flashing stock with pit.
Before you flash the next one reply here so i can guide you.
And dont worry about the amount of times you flash it. It will do no harm no matter how many times you flssh it.

Hi, im currently at work and will be home within an hour.
This morning i used IRAN (4 file one) and used all 4 files on odin. Here is what i did in detail.
1. Opened Odin 3 v3.12
2. Uploaded BL (1st), AP (2nd), CP (3rd) and CSC (Last)
3. Under options - > only Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time was ticked.
4. I hold volume down, menu button and power button at same time and pressed volume up button.
5. I connected the phone to Computer.
6. Odin3 recognized phone and i clicked start.
Within 2-3 seconds it said it has failed, and i used the SAUDI file to reflash back to normal (As i was late for work).
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
For the PAK file with the PIT you provided, i did everything almost the same other than it had only AP file and i had Re-partition ticked as well. It flashed fine but showed the same 16gb storage limit.
I will be home soon and post here beforehand if its easier for you and allowed in forum to use skypecall or such, that is indeed fine for me as well.
Thank you very much.

Now bring your Phone into Download Mode (Vol down, Bixby button and Power) and flash the XEF Firmware including CSC not Home CSC
Take out the Sim and SD Card and do the initial Setup without Wifi/Cell
Factory Reset the Note again and flash the Combo File as AP and the Home CSC from the French FW use the Odin Combo version (MOD) from the download above..
After your Note booted into the Combo FW go to IME and type: *#243203855#
Change to XEF the Phone reboots and now you are on XFE you can check it if you take the last step and see that you on XEF
Power Off the Note and bring it into Download Mode again and Flash the XEF Firmware use the CSC not CSC Home
Now you are on XEF and you can connect to wifi and install Oreo!!!
Have Fun..
No need for OEM Unlock or Developer Options..
Pls if someone votes that it didnt work, let us know what the Problem is/was to help others. If you follow the instructions it should work 100% i tested this on 5 different Note 8

You have to be rooted for that and mostly rooted means no ota its not hard to do if you follow the instructions. I was trying countless hours and found the easiest way as described in this faq
Hey mate, since you are not from France, is OEM Unlock available after switching to XEF for you, assuming you are not whatsoever tied with France (SIM, physically there)?

It should be there for me it isn't because I flashed about 30 times or more and now I have to wait for it to come back. But it should work for you if you still see it on your 7 rom.
I was on DBT Germany and no French sim needed

I think that update.zip should be installed over stock recovery without root on BRB2 firmware.

I don't get what you mean there is no update.zip available
Do the trick with XEF CSC and download Oreo update. Skip installation for later. Browse in internal memory and you should see update.zip. Copy that zip and share it. Everyone with BRB2 firmware, but not XEF CSC will be able to put that zip in internal memory and install it over stock recovery manually.

I've downloaded an android 9 firmware before it came to my phone model (SM-G965F/DS) and flashed it. When I check under Software Update in settings it says "Your current software version isn't supported visit a service center".
Is there a way to go back to the factory firmware it came with through smart switch or.... how do i find the correct firmware to flash with odin? Because i dont have any version details from before...
Please help!

I believe as long as you do a full clean flash, the software update will function normally. By full clean flash I mean flashing the CSC and not HOME_CSC, and flashing userdata if that was included in your firmware, although I'm not sure if that part affects this or not. But the CSC, which will wipe your data by the way, should set everything straight I believe. It has worked for me.

Oh, you said you flashed the firmware package, so did it have four or five different files inside the package, like AP, BL, CSC etc? You put each file in the respective slot in Odin, and instead of using HOME_CSC, use CSC, which will wipe your data but it will line up the customer code with the firmware so that updates should work as normal.
