Privacy/security guide for non-rooted Nord N10? - OnePlus Nord N10 5G Questions & Answers

Just wondering if anyone has a privacy/security guide for a non-rooted Nord N10 on Android 11. I was initially going to ROM it and install GrapheneOS but it looks like it has a lot of issues for some people trying to install it and I'm not tech savvy enough at fixing them or have the time to go through it if it bricks.
So far I've used a debloat script I found and also added some Google/TMobile packages to remove from it (I don't log into a Google account on my phone and Google Maps is the only Google app I use). I've removed or disabled a lot of the other stock apps which I don't use and have tried to go with as many open-source apps as possible along with a few other basic Android security tips.
I've also installed AdAway non-rooted version (the one where it sets up a VPN, initially tried InviziblePro but it shut down on restarts).

[Q] Alternative to Adaway?

Ever since upgrading to Android 4.3 on my S4 on Sprint, I have been noticing that Adaway doesn't work correctly. It either fails, or takes forever to apply the hosts file after it compiles it's list. Adfree however, works fine. Unfortunately, the lists tht adfree use are poorly maintained (or old), and I enjoy the ability to specify which hosts I want included in being blocked.
Is there any alternative to Adaway, or is there some reason why Adaway doesn't want to work correctly on Android 4.3, specifically, my phone? I had been looking into this, but unfortunately, my search results didn't really come back with anything conclusive as to why that may be.

Hey, try grabbing the 2.8 APK from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753. I've had tons of problems with the version from F-Droid and the Play Store. Apparently, the one compiled by @mrRobinson fixes those issues.

I think you should better consult the adblock advisor which has three unique options to block ads:
1. Ad Block
2. AdGuard
3. Adblock Plus
You can choose one among them for your android. If you still face any difficulties, you can then google and visit their official sites for further information. I hope this will solve your issue. Good luck!
Mother of All Ad-Blocking
More than 15Mb of blocked domains into one signle hosts file and you can add yours if needed.

[Q] Google-free Android - how?

I'm using a Nexus 4 and trying to get rid of all the Google tracking services and their built-in Android background communications with Google servers. I have already searched the internet and found a few articles about this, however most of them were outdated or didn't answer my questions.
I do like the look and feel of stock Android, which is why I would probably go for CyanogenMod for this. In an optimal world, it would retain its current look and feel, but without communicating with Google.
My questions that I currently have pretty much are as follows (when using CyanogenMod):
- is it possible to keep using SOME Play store / stock apps but taking their permission to send information to Google? For example, I still want to use whatsapp and I doubt I can find it in the F-Droid store, or perhaps i like the Google camera app, and so on
- is it possible to turn off all Google tracking services (obvious things such as Google Now, but also the less obvious, like the constant hidden communications with Google servers) using CyanogenMod?

HUAWEI matepad 10.4 2020 GMS/Google Play questions

I recently received a new matepad in the UK and have been struggling for days to get anything up and running so far.
Successful so far is YouTube Vance, it's the only Google related app that I've managed to get working.
Any third party app I've tried is either outdated or outright doesn't run on the device. Examples are Lzplay chatapp and insalling everything manually.
Nothing has worked so far. I was also wondering why there isn't a development channel for this device as it has such big potential but just suffering from the lack of a play store.
Any advice / help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried all the usual stuff but it's hard to find anything online about this tablet.

Youtube Vanced isn't a Google authored app.
Due to an order of the madman in the White House, Huawei since almost a year is no longer allowed to pre-install Google Play Store and/or GMS on their devices.
You have to install Google Play Store ( consists of 4 APKs ) and/or GMS manually by yourself.

Hi thank you for your reply. I'm aware of the reasoning behind the idiotic decision, I was just wondering for my device specifically speaking as its so new and has a lot of problems with the preexisting methods. I've found no way to load GSM onto the device as of yet and made this thread to explore if there were any potential way whatsoever. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

OnePlus 7 Pro-Restricting access to certain settings/functions?

**If this is posted in the wrong section, my apologies as I very rarely post to this forum and was unsure where to post it.**
If this is already available somewhere, I apologize, but after several days worth of searching, I could not find it.
That said, what I am looking for (and Im not sure that I am wording this correctly) is a system or root level addon or mod that will completely lock or disable the modification of certain settings with a password, i.e. changing/disconnecting from the current wifi, disabling the developer settings (more than just the "off switch"), restricting access for installing or uninstalling apps and their settings, etc. Kind of like the Mobile Device Management in iOS.
I would really prefer not to have to use google policies if that is possible, because last time I tried that I was forced to sign up for a google developer account and even then I had to be part of a business before being able to access any of the "corporate" or "enterprise" software that does what I am asking. Needless to say, I was unable to get those settings to work anyways because I am not part of a business.
I would like to use this on a rooted OnePlus 7 Pro running stock android 10 with the eXposed/EdXposed framework, Magisk, and TWRP.
Thank you,
Fenix

Custom ROM advice - looking for a kid friendly solution

First off, I hope I'm posting this in the correct area
This may be a fantasy, but I will state my idea, and if you know any way of making it a reality, OR if it already exists, I would really appreciate your advice & help!
The idea is basically a super lightweight custom ROM that would work (be able to be flashed on) on a lot of different devices. (multiple android phones & tablets)
Preferably, I want it to run on the most stable version of Android
No play store, only a predetermined set of apps to be installed along with the ROM
No stock browser or any native apps that have a browser built-in
Basically, there are a few applications for this product, 2 that come to mind.
The most obvious, Kid friendly - I know about the parental controls available, I want something 'bulletproof'.
To ensure productivity and reduce distractions among employees.
I would also want a browser that is whitelist-based that can have the whitelist updated remotely, every time the browser connects to the internet, (either on startup of the app or in the background) it would check the whitelist and update itself with the new definitions. Ideally, I would want a Chrome-based browser with a built-in adblocker.
I know the lines are blurred from custom ROM to custom apps. I hope I'm not dreaming of a unicorn
(The native apps preferred would be The Camera, Messages and phone apps)
I think what you looking for is "Kids Space" from oxygenOs and colorOs 13. Now even I'm looking for the same for older oneplus devices.
You had any luck with it?
