Question [CPU] & [GPU] Overclocking - Xiaomi Mi 11i / 11X Pro / Redmi K40 Pro+

Hey heroes of XDA!
I have a question, since watching a video from youtube, making a DIY gaming phone, he used a Mi 9, since the Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro/K20 Pro has the same CPU and GPU, i wondered if i can overclock it too the same way he did, but since he rooted the phone to overclock it, i have doubts, if i root, overclock it to my heart´s desires, and unroot, does it keep the overclocked values? or does it reset?
here is the link for the youtube video where i saw the idea, and in minute 3:24 he shows how to overclock the CPU, GPU and the display (i know how to overclock)
im actually copying the idea he had, but instead of a Mi 9, im using a Mi 9T Pro/K20 Pro since i already have the device in perfect condition, i know how to root it, but i had to unroot due to safetynet issues that was way out of my knowledge how to fix the problem, thats why im asking if i can unroot it after overclocking the CPU so i dont have to deal with the same issues i had before,
i dont want a custom kernel/firmware or whatever, i want the phone as stock as possible excluding the chip overclock, heat and battery life isnt an issue since im planning to cover the back with a thin layer of copper plate, with a custom phone case (cutting the middle of the case) and im buying the blackshark funcooler 2 pro to take care of the heat, and since i already have a 20k mAH battery pack, power isnt a problem for a whole day outside my house gaming with the phone...
i know this might be a foolish question for some of you, but i dont know, since i never tried rooting then overclocking, then unrooting..
thanks in advance and have a wonderful day/night!

Why samsung galaxy s 2 i9100?

Basically, i got this phone(GS2 i9100M) a week ago and found way too many problems that i cannot fix. So, why exactly does so many people like about this phone compared to other variant, e.g. GS2 T989 with snapdragon processor? I mean, my brother has the T989 and i also had it before too until i sold it to get this. It seems like i've been experiencing a lot of problem from this phone that does not really occur on the T989. The default music player is faulty which causes auto reboot, and the phone constantly heats up; even when viewing photos from the gallery! What attracted me to get this phone was people's opinion about the CPU and GPU also the gorilla glass, but i dont really notice a big differences in speed between the two phones. The T989 also doesn't heat up this much or this often. Feel free to share your experience people, and would appreciate if someone can offer me some advices on how to fix the heating up issues.
First, its better to talk n read at 9100 forum section but since im a 9100 user, ill share it here
Yes, on day one i got my 9100, it gets really warm even when not charging and got a lot worse when on charge. Its mostly the media scanning process which seems unstoppable on the earlier build when the SGS2 was released
I first noticed that its solved when using XXKG3 firmware and above. And also, undervolting to around 50mv reduces the heat too. A normal 9100 is capable of undervolting up to 175-200mv but it depends on phones are some silicones are made better and its not a constant result. What samsung made is setting the voltage at all the same safe level to avoid reboots. U have the option to undervolt it to reduce heat or even underclock to 1Ghz since 1.2ghz is quite overpowered and u want to conserve the battery and make it last longer.
Try Siyah kernel and learn to tweak using voltage controller and extweaks. There r guides given in SGS2 section here on XDA and it is well compiled.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply. I've posted in the wrong section by mistake. Someday I'd consider rooting the phone, but at the moment I don't want to take the risk because I'm still kind of new to smartphones and don't know much about it. What's your opinions on ICS? Do you think ICS OS release will solve most of these problems?

[Q] Undervolt Kernel for Hisense Sero 7 PRO

Hello,
I've picked up my first Android device to mess with and caught a deal on the Hisense Sero 7 PRO (Google Nexus 7 <1st Gen> clone).
I was wondering if anyone was aware of a kernel that supports undervolting? A few of them allow overclocking the CPU, but I'm more interested in Undervolting for extending battery life.
I've read through as many Sero 7 PRO centrix posts as I can, but I cannot find mention of undervolting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :good:

im just speculating, so dont quote me
many times oc and uv go hand and hand, so frequently it is included.
im thinking it is a good possibility that most of them have the ability to do both and it just is not stated.
i would make a backup first, then move it to a safe place, then try some out.
jmo
I had hoped they went hand and hand but every app I've DLed that lets me play with parameters and advertises the ability to OC and UV, has had the UV section grayed out or it doesn't show up like in the screenshots for the app in the play store show. This is why I was wondering if I perhaps hadn't hit on the correct kernel yet.

[HELP] Panic - CPU seems broken, I need help!

First of all, Hi everyone - chefs, users and admins!
I am writing this post with a really heavy heart now, almost bleeding experience happened to me from nowhere about 2 months ago. I feel quite an advanced "flashoholic", however I've broke up with that few years ago. In 2013 I sold my Note 2 and started "new life" with Android, bought a DSLR and engaged into photography. This year, in february I have bought a tablet as I needed really something for business purposes, and I have chosen a Tab S 10.5 LTE. I didn't ever hear about any Knox tripping or anything, and as soon as it arrived I flashed a AOSP ROM to my thingie as I love AOSP overall. Than strange things started to happen with my CPU. As I recall I have noticed it first after installing Xposed to the tablet - it started heating pretty badly. When I checked my CPU states through ROM Toolbox etc I noticed it sometimes freezes at frequencies around 1.7-1.9 GHz, and during this behavior max frequencies could even fluctuate from 1.7 to 1.8, 1.9 and so on. It looks like "something" changes max frequency setting of CPU as it wants, whenever it wants to and pushes usage to the maximum.
Now, I started to look for a fix - uninstalled Xposed, every root apps etc. Nothing stopped it. I was "pretty sure" the cause is in AOSP thing and the conflict between my hardware and custom AOSP Roms. So after 2 months of tryouts to solve the problem, I today reflashed TW to "finally" get rid if this and save my battery life. What shocked me was... the bug is still here! Even with 0 apps installed, all ROM stock and clean, my CPU goes crazy, the back is hot, and CPU monitoring apps show a hard usage of 1.9 and 1.8 GHz frequencies. At this point I started to panic.
To mention - before I posted this here, tried to search over xda, googling it and so on, but it seems noone has such problem anywhere! As long as I know I can't get my warranty back, and I feel really panic and don't know what to do. I am asking experienced devs or anyone who faced it before for some help, on my knees. This tablet is great, but pretty useless when my battery hits 20% after 4 hours!
Thank you very much for any help and advices, and sorry for my bad english.

Z2 High CPU temperature

I am running CM12.1 + M5 Kernel UNDERVOLTED
2.3ghz voltage is 0.900v
I am using EX Kernel manager to show my cpu temp in status bar and I am running StabilityTest v2.7 to stress it .
After 5 minutes of continous stress , the cpu temp is 84 celsius degrees , is this normal ? It's possible to be a sensor reading bug in EX Kernel manager ?
after 15 minutes of stress the temp is 91 ? c'mon is this true ? the phone should be untouchable at that temp but is pretty fine lol . Could be temperature sensor bug ? I hope so
Its weird,i remember my cpu hiting 83-85c and shutting down automatically when i used stability test..but.. i had 4 cores overclocked to 2.7ghz on about 1100v so its a bit of imposibility to have 91c on 900mv.. try kernel adiutor mayby? And Believe me it would be hot as hell as i couldn't handle mine during the tests and cpu was 'only' 85

yes , sound weird , it even goes to 93 degree but still running lol
and yes , the case is not that incredible hot
what rom and kernel you use ? I am using CM12.1 and M5 kernel , maybe that's why sensor reading is bugged , also if I use Cpu Temp app I get 9c lower temps :-/
just asking , how did you kill 2 z2 ?
Currently im on existenz 7.0 + androplus kernel v72,but i was also playing with overclocking etc on cm12.1 and m5 kernel v10.2 some time ago. On both i never got higher than 80-85 degrees without shutdown..And its really hard to get that 80 degree on 2265mhz even after about 10 mins of stability test for me. Only get that high temperatures on voltages above 950-1000mv and long tests.Look at my kernel adiutor settings in attachment. It must be a bug with EX kernel. Probably the cpu temp shows right one.
Ah and i killed 2 because i wanted to switch their motherboards. My carrier permamently locks bl and i wanted an unlockable one.It was a stupid thing to do..but it was a long time ago when i didnt knew many things yet

Oh , good to hear that .
And about your 2 dead z2 , sorry for asking too many questions but I am curious when it comes to this stuff because I also disassembled many phones and my Z2 to do some camera improvement . How exactly you killed the motherboard ? some short circuit or physical damage like scratch or crack ?
When i started the phone after replacing the old board with new unlockable one from the other z2 and doing a fresh ftf install it started to boot..and died..permamently.Pc companion, flashtool, even service didnt revive it (they tried testpoint etc.).I tried to put back my old Locked Mb instead and same thing happened. So i sold my main z2 as a non booting and the second one which already had a cracked digitizer (the one from which i took the unlockable mb from) i sold in parts. Not sure why i was so stubborn but i got third one which i use now and it was unlockable since the beginning..

maybe you screwed up some battery pins on that flex and fried some part , no idea , very weird
anyway , good thing to know , not to mess with removing motherboard ... I love the SoC from my phone because it runs stable 2.3ghz with 900mv and this seems to be very rare .
Thanks for the help and also for telling me the story of your 2 phones

Is my LG G5 about to catch fire?...

I got a second hand perfect condition lg g5 ls988 rather cheap... All seems perfect... New condition pretty much... Unlocked bootloader and installed lineage os and typhoon kernel, did antutu test and scored really well... But I'm having one huge issue..... HEAT....
This thing had climbed into the 80c range for cpu... While gaming on a rather non aggressive app called arcane legends.. And I don't know what is going on.... Even on light use seems to hit 55c+ can barely touch the phone at times...
Even on stock it seems to get very hot... Also I can not use stock kernel because I believe this device suffers screen burn in and I have to use custom kcal settings to prevent this... Which means kernel much support it...
Hopefully I can get some help.. I really like this phone but the heat is insane...

Have you sorted out the heat issue yet? It seems to me that the issue is with typhon kernel. I'm not sure if this is fixed in the last update to the kernel, which didn't get built for the rs988, or not. Although I never had much of an issue with heat on stock so it may be something else.
