Question Flashing Taiwanese Firmware (61.1.F.5.82) over Russian Firmware (61.0.A.25.7) - Sony Xperia Pro-I

Hi!
I recently rooted my XQ-72 running on the RUS firmware.
Since it is no longer being supported and cannot update to Android 12, I was wondering if I could flash the Taiwanese firmware over it without bricking or corrupting the phone. If anyone can lend their expertise, please help!
Thank you so much,
Eric

Hi, I really appreciate your response! I have another question. if you don't mind:
Would you happen to know the best way to flash the firmware? I tried using Emma but it did not offer any services with the device. I have the Taiwanese firmware from XperiFirm but am unsure as to what I should do with the files in the folder.
Thank you so much,
Eric

i think for you the only way is newflasher

Thank you so much! I just successfully flashed the firmware and it is on Android 12. It means so much to me!

Anybody knows if it's possible to flash a European version (XQ-BE52 - EEA) on an Asian model (XQ-BE72)?
It's been so many years since I've done this thing the last time.

[Q] Debrand unlocked phone

Hey guys,
first post here. =D
I have a Vivo branded phone (Carrier from Brazil). It's unlocked, but I can't yet update to 2.1 because unlocking does not unbrand. =/ Vivo is only releasing the 2.1 on the last week of november.
There is a lot of information here in the forum, but I found it a little confuse - too much information.
So my question, is there a safe way to unbrand my 1.6 X10a without rooting it?
Thanks!

Tks! But to do that I need to root right? Another question (sory, i'm new to the android plataform) I must update prom 1.6 to, 2.1 World generic then change the code to 2.1 Brazil generic, right?
How can I save the Branded Firmware if I need it in the future?
So, can anyone confirm that the SEUS method to debrand the X10 still works?

1- if you update your phone from 1.6 to 2.1, the code will stay the same (Brazil stays Brazil) unless you use the flash tool to upgrade with another firmware.
2- You can try to download the flash tool with the right firmware if it's available, else, just use the 12XX-XXXX code on your phone (under the battery on the sticker) and rebrand using the different methods available on XDA.

If you mean the one where you have to quickly replace a file while it's updating, no it doesn't work anymore.

Hi,
All the fw's in the link are original ones.... u can either port the NZ one or Australian version or Indian version or the UK one.... There are versions like 10A, 10B, 10C .... Go for either 10A or 10B because the latter one's can't be rooted.
Also, avoid using swearing words in this community bro, the moderators mite even delete ur account.

Cannot update g850f (tun) 4.4 to 5.0.2

Helo everybody,
Im stuck a bit with update. I have downloaded the 5.0.2 android for my phone from sammobile but unfortunately odin always fail with the firmwares.
The only thing what i can do is installing back my old firmware, Otherwise not even kies could recognise my phone.
Is there a reason why its now allowing me to update it?
My current android is G850FXXU2BNK3_G850FOJV2BNK5_TUN
And i have tried G850FXXU2COI3_G850FNEE2COI1_NEE (This is for nordic countried...5.0.2)
and also tried G850FXXU2COE4_G850FH3G2COE1_H3G(This is for GB and H3G service provider)
Unfortunately both failed at the end.
I have tried the usual troubleshooting which was described here, but i think i just cannot find the proper 5.0.2 android for my phone.
Is it important which country i choose?
I bought the phone on ebay a year ago, made in Vietname, and the csc is TUN.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
Thank you.
Same with French xef?
Any specufic branding?

Helo. Sorry im quite noobish with this particular topic. What does xef means? Do you mean have i tried with any French firmware?
No it is just a simple sm-g850f (Tun).
I have put back the tunesian (original) firmware and it works like a charm now again....but still no luck with 5.0.2

Retail EU doesn't have 7.0 Nougat firmware

Dear friends,
I want to ask why Moto Z XT1650 - 03 Retail EU, now doesn't have the full 7.0 firmware yet? Most of version, like RETMX, RETLA, RETCA, TELUS, those have 7.0 full firmware.
Now I would like to unlock bootloader and root my device, but I am afraid of this process will have some issue, I need to re-flash the firmware.
I have already OTA to 7.0
Are there some people can tell me where I can downlaod the full firmware of Retal EU? Or this version will not be released?
Thank you,
You have to ask Lenovo/Motorola why they haven't released officially signed recovery images yet. As of now, you can safely flash RETBR as RETEU, but won't be able to relock the bootloader. But that was already discussed several times.
But the question is that, where can I find the firmware of RETBR ?
Could you please provide the link or share drive to me ?
If I root failed, so I don't want to flash back to 6.0, you know My bootloader was up to date.

Yes, Mate. I have got this link also.
But it seems the RETBR is not related to 7.0 firmware. It just 6.0
Thank you for your information.

[Newbie] How to upgrade firmware?

Hey folks,
I'm using the ResurrectionRemix 7.0.2 and I would like to upgrade the pocophone firmware. Does anybody know how to upgrade and to check the actually installed version? Is there anything I need to keep in mind? (e.g. some versions doesnt work with CustomROMs, loss of data,...)
Thanks for your help

Download latest firmware from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/firmware-xiaomi-poco-f1-t3854873
and flash it as a normal zip. No data loss or anything.
You'll have to check with your rom's page, but the common rule is : old firmware- bad/ new firmware- good
I think that was the easiest thing I've ever done.
Thanks a lot
