If this phone has A/B partitions this command cannot work.
You must use
Type' fastboot boot twrp.img' without the apostrophes.
The phone will reboot in TWRP after that go to Advanced > Flash Current TWRP.

No option to update from ADB in recovery menu - HDX 8.9 3rd Gen

When I use ADB to reboot into recovery, there is no option on my device to update from ADB. (See picture)
I just want to wipe the device and flash the latest update to get it running normally.
Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks.

I've also tried going into fastboot and running the recovery command
.\fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
It returns with:
FAILED (remote: 'flashing not allowed for locked hw')
I'm guessing this has something to do with why ADB is not showing in recovery menu.

Stock HDX devices do not have a customary recovery menu or fastboot command set. If your device fails to boot and Amazon's simplistic reset does not fix it there is no recourse other than unlocking the bootloader (3rd gen) or tossing it in the waste bin (4th gen).

Question [Bricked?] Need HELP!

I'm totally noob for android/root
My Redmi Note 10 Sunny is bricked or something
I do some research and unlock OEM bootloader and install this rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-mojito-sunny-project-sakura-official-aosp.4325663
But It's stuck at Sakura loading screen and doesn't boot to the system no matter how long i wait.
I try to restart a few times but it stuck at the same animation.
Then i decide to power off and open again with power + volume up now i'm at this RECOVERY screen but i don't know what to do.
If i choose Enter fastboot the phone instantly freeze can't do anything and need to power off manually.
If i choose Reboot to bootloader it's just reboot to this very same screen.
If i choose Reboot to recovery same as the above.
If i choose Mount/unmount system the text at the bottom about failed to bind appear.
I post this here instead of in the rom thread because i believe it's not the rom fault but i'm doing something wrong and i lose all of my rom? according to the bottom text.
Please help this is my only phone and i regret it now.

Try PE Recovery, LOS Recovery seems incompatible with the Sakura rom
CLEAN FLASH (RECOMMENDED) :Boot Into PE Recovecy
First Format Data(Factory Reset)
Click On Apply Update And Choose Adb Sideload
Now Go To Pc,Open CMD In Platform Tools,Type adb sideload PPUI_Mojito.zip (File Name Will Be Different)
It Will Be Failed At 47%.It's Normal So Dont Worry.
Now Reboot Your Phone And Enjoy!

Question boot is not being flashed

costs miui 12.5,bootloader unlocked, usb debugging enabled
I want to install custom rom,via fastboot, but the problem is that after flashing boot.img or vendor boot.img after rebooting through the console in the recovery it gets back into the standard recovery
Before everything worked fine, now I can not flash the boot, what could be the problem?

Tried this?
Assuming you're trying to install Lineage.

ALTERNATIVE WAY OF FLASHING THE ROM
For those like me who have issue with flashing this rom here i what I do to bypass recovery issue..
after flash boot+vendor and start on LOS recovery and format data, I click update but I haven' apply update from sdcard1 but justapply from ADB..in advanced settings, there isn't such option....so I installed with ADB sideload
that what I do, and after 1 error I tried again and got error when I command adb reboot that system was not installed but I'm now on your rom....only issue is with my sdcard not recognized...have to backup on pc, format and recopy back, but certainly error on my side when I flash back miui rom.......
for those who don't know how to use ADB sideload here is a tuto you can read
How to Flash Custom ROM using ADB sideload [Easy Steps]
Flash Custom ROM zip file with ADB and Fastboot commands on any Android phone. Install Custom Firmware without TWRP recovery using CMD.

Problem with installing ROM via TWRP (A/B device)

I have problem with installing new ROM on phone Xiaomi MIX4 with A/B Partition file system. I followed this tutorial: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
Before I started my trying to update my system, my phone was running this ROM from xiaomi.eu community and everything was running good.: xiaomi.eu_multi_MIX4_V13.0.6.0.SKMCNXM_v13-12-fastboot.zip
Newer ROM, I want to install, is this one: xiaomi.eu_multi_MIX4_V13.0.8.0.SKMCNXM_v13-12.zip
but this new ROM can’t be installed simple through fastboot as previous one, so I need to do it in more complicated way (via TWRP):
Steps I did:
1. I did all data backup on external drive.
2. Phone is fully charged.
3. Bootloader is unlocked.
4. USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking allowed
5. Reboot to bootloader
6. Set active B partition through ADB command – “fastboot set_active b”
7. Run TWRP and tried to wipe all the data through WIPE button, but error occurred:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. Trying to install TWRP zip file (twrp-installer-3.7.0_11-0-odinx.zip) through TWRP Install button, but this error occurred:
Can you help me, what do I wrong? What step did I miss?
I tried a few alternative ways to solve this problem, but nothing helped and phone acctually can't run android anymore. Only shows fastboot logo and nothing else.
Thank you very much
Lukas

Redmi Note 7 stuck in fastboot

Hey, I had OrangeFox Recovery and tried to install TWRP from within the OrangeFox by flashing it in the recovery parition but somehow the TWRP file was corrupted even though it showed successful but when I restarted my mobile it automatically opens the fastboot mode and now the situation is as follows:
-No recovery installed on the phone
-No Operating System installed on the phone (because I was installing TWRP to install a ROM)
-No USB Debugging enabled because I didn't know that I would fall into this situation
-No matter what combination I do, it takes me to the fastboot mode and doesn't do anything else.
Now I have installed the Mi Flash Tool along with its drivers but it doesn't show my device in the list even the windows make the connected sound but I think because USB debugging is not enabled it doesn't show it in the list of devices to flash to. Please tell me if their is anyway I can get my mobile back to normal (I have the original fastboot rom from official website) but the only problem I guess is the USB debugging. Thanks

hey buddy thanks for your help, I had my bootloader unlocked and I did it, I now flashed orangefox recovery using fastboot and I can use the recovery to install the ROM I want, However there is a problem that the last ROM I had was very secure and private rom (Calyxos) which encrypted the data so I am not able to wipe data. Tell me if you have any fix and once again thanks.
