HowTo Update to Android 12 with Firmwarefile and sideload - Nokia 8.3 5G (8V 5G UW) Guides, News, & Discussion

It looks like the OTA Upgrade to Android 12 is only available to customers in Finland.
There are many posts to get the upgrade when you use a VPN and delete a cache and data for some apps that belong to Google.
I've tried many times, but nothing has worked, so I tried to find a way to get the firmware file and flash it directly.
This worked for me:
Take a backup from phone, it is not necessary, because the upgrade doesn't delete anything, but you never know.
Download the firmware file from Telegram channel "Nokia OTA Repository" Link
You also need the minimal ADB-Tools which are mentioned in the posting on Telegram
There is also a guide to put your phone into recovery mode and to sideload the firmware
Basically you have to turn it on and hold Vol- and power Button, then go to Recovery Mode and when the phone says to press nothing, play with the Vol+ and Vol- Buttons)
Then follow the instructions for the sideload method on Telegram, as mentioned in the post the SD-Card variant doesn't work, and it didn't also for me.
I got an error message that the timestamp is older and the upgrade isn't possible, but it does work, at the next boot Android 12 was installed, and I didn't loose any data.
Probably this helps someone who wants Android 12 on his 8.3 5G

[GUIDE] How to Convert Asus Zenfone to Worldwide ROM (Chinese, CN, CCUC and TW to WW)

Hi
I managed to convert a chinese asus zenfone 6 to WW (International) and then Install Android KitKat from ASUS international to it. same method is valid for zenfone 5, just firmware files are different. I am going to share the process as most of the sources were not updated and were in chinese language.
I came up with an chinese asus device that sold as an International asus phone. I don't know how they did that, but they installed WW rom while original SKU of phone was still CCUC! I noticed it is a fake ROM because I noticed there are many bloatwares installed such as random marketplaces and baidu browser and phone had a weird permission popup that appear every time I tried to open an application. for example it says Gallery tries to use network. I click Allow and click "remember", but it ask same question again next time I open gallery. or WhatsApp want to read contact... and this popup was appearing on every applications.
I found out the reason for this problem is that the rom is not original ROM, in system information menu in setting, ROM release date was 2019 which is very weird and show that ROM was modified highly and they changed date of release to 2019, so it cannot check for newer update from Asus! Anyway, lets get to the point...
so I downloaded newest firmware and tried to install, but there was an error message saying device SKU is CCUC but ROM is WW and install failed. new firmwares from asus check against device SKU and don't allow to install. so, here is an option. you have to download latest firmware that doesn't check for device SKU, which is v1.14.40.50
Once you install this firmware, your device SKU will change to WW, then you can go ahead and install new firmware.
So, in my case, I had to download old firmware UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-1.14.40.50.zip ( for Asus Zenfone 6 ) and sideload it into my device.
Once it sideloaded, It changed my device from CCUC to WW and then I could proceed installation of new firmware updates.
Here is what i did:
1. turn off phone.
2. turn on phone while keeping volume up + power button to enter into fastload mode.
3. open recovery mode.
4. hold volume down for 3 seconds, then press volume up to enable ADB mode.
5. choose ADB mode. ( have to download Intel Android Driver so that your windows can detect phone )
6. download UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-1.14.40.50.zip and extract it ( from asus support page: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=ASUS+ZenFone+6&p=39&s=1 )
6. copy UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-1.14.40.50-user to my windows adb folder. ( have to download Google's Android ADB tools )
7. open adb folder in command prompt and type: adb sideload UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-1.14.40.50-user.zip
8. let it sideload and get installed on your device. now phone is WW. have to restart phone and open recovery mode again so that WW version apply to recovery mode.
9. open ADB mode again.
10. download UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-1.18.40.12.zip and sideload it.
11. once this version is sideload, boot android and let it optimize apps. it will change your android version to latest 4.3, which is needed for
12. turn off device and open ADB mode again.
13. download UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-2.19.40.18.zip and sideload it.
14. restart your device. Now your phone have KitKat android v4.4
15. Enjoy it and don't forget to thanks me if this method helped you.
Had to flash an older recovery.img, without anything else changed from tw to ww, the sideload of ww went through.
Thanks for all the info.
a follow up question, automatic updates will attempt to download tw or ww? or are they now broken? I noticed it didn't try to autoupdate to latest asus ww firmware.
Just wondering if anyone knows why there are different regional firmwares or what might be lost/gained moving from tw to ww firmware?

Huawei P9 PLUS VIE-AL10C00 successfully UNLOCKED and ROOTED

So we just managed to get our Huawei P9 Plus (VIE-AL10C00B106) successfully rooted
0.) *** if you have your Bootloader UNLOCK Code from Huawei, jump to STEP 3 ****
1.) downloaded DC-Unlocker, created a account, added 4 Credits(4EUR) to account. Device should have USB DEBUG Mode enabled and you need to enable 'Manufacture' mode: in dial pad type *#*#2846579#*#* - you enter the "Project Menu", go to "Background settings" -> "USB ports settings" and switch to "Manufacture mode". Dont forget to have your device Drivers (ADB) installed
2.) Once your P9 Plus is normal booted, start DC-Unlocker (here we tested 1.00.1299) , select "huawei phones" with "auto detect" and hit the Search-Button. Your device should be found and listed with IMEI, FW ect.
If you have entered your account details under "SERVER" in dc-unlocker, you can now use the "read bootloader" Button to get your bootloader unlock code - your Credits are GONE then. SAVE THIS CODE BEFORE CLOSING DC-UNLOCKER!!!!!!
3.) Boot your device in fastboot - screen should show "locked" as status on the white screen. Type command "fastboot oem unlock XXXXXXXX" (replace the XXXX with your unlock code from DC Unlocker)
4.) Phone Screen should show a WARNING Message and offer to press VOL UP to UNLOCK phone - WARNING, if you select UNLOCK and press PWR Button to agree, DEVICE WILL INSTANTLY RESETED TO MANUFACTUR DEFAULT
5.) Download the Root-SuperSU-v2.65.zip (DIRECT DOWNLOAD) and put it on a SD-Card
6.) Download the TWRP3.0.2_EMUI4.1_H95X File (DIRECT DOWNLOAD)
7.) Reboot your phone and re-enable USB DEBUG Mode, dont forget to ALLOW Debugging via PC if promped. Insert your SD-Card with the SuperSU Zip into your phone if not already done.
8.) RUN TWRP3.0.2_EMUI4.1_H95X, it will reboot your phone in Fastboot mode. By pressing 1 and then enter, you will Install TWRP 3.0.20. Follow the instructions, by pressing enter again your phone should reboot
9.) while rebooting, HOLD VOL UP and VOL DOWN together pressed until Phone tell you "booting", it should boot into TWRP now
10.) On TWRP, in the right Corner, you can Switch Language from Chinese to English (selectable, dont worry). Now go to INSTALL, move to EXT_SDCARD as source and select the SuperSU ZIP -> INSTALL
the installation of SuperSU may show mounting/unmount errors, but will be installed anyway.
After Operation is done, reboot your Phone into normal Mode. You should find SuperSU installed on your device now.
Working Firmware Versions :
VIE-AL10C00B102*
VIE-AL10C00B106
VIE-AL10C00B163
If anything goes wrong, you may RESTORE your phone to TOTAL Stock by downloading
*VIE-AL10_C00B102 (initial CN nonspecific_Android 6.0_EMUI4.1) firmware - DOWNLOAD HERE (LINK will be added later)
Put the UPDATE.APP File (~2.8GB) (content of SDupdate_Package.tar.gz) in an folder named "dload" on your MicroSD Card and reboot phone with holding VOL UP and VOL DOWN. If the Huawei Logo appears, keep Buttons pressed until DEVICE gives you a vibration impulse. Device should now completly restore initial Firmware from SD-Card. PHONE IS LOCKED again after is operation.
****** i will add Firmware Files B102(initial full release), B106(update) and B163(latest update) LATER to this thread, need to Upload them first ******
Thanks. Can Xposed work on ?

how did u do that?? so u exported it from Google contacts den used their Computer software to upload it all back in?? back there is no backup made to google moving forward yeah??
anyone knows when the international ROM will be out? i heard some variants actually allow for Google accounts to sync with the phone.
Yes, exported from the web page on my PC and put the file on my phone, then opened contacts on the phone, selected inport from the menu and imported them from the file I cresated. I found no other way at the time other than moving them to your sim card on another phone, then use that sim on your P9+
Calendar and contact sync adapter work fine here, we installed the apks I posted in the mate thread...
Does this unlock also work with the International versions for example VIE-L29 ?
Could anyone test if FlashFire works?
Guys here real TWRP with decrypt option. Chinese TWRP ****. My sources are clear and free for every one

Restore Backup with: TWRP
hi, i apologize for such a noob question, but i've never rooted a phone before so i'm wondering what are the benefits of rooting the Huawei P9 plus? i understand the basic gist of what rooting does and why you'd want it for phones with heavy, heavy bloat (like, say, a Samsung S5 from a US carrier). but the VIE-AL10 unit's bloatware can mostly be uninstalled (i have the china unlocked version), and with NiLS lockscreen, Nova Launcher, and the Android N theme that i got from this forum, i was able to get the phone running mostly like a normal, clean phone without any sign of those tacky Chinese bloat.
so i'm just wondering at this point what more can root do? what do you guys plan on doing, or have done, to your P9 plus after rooting?
thanks, and apologies again if this is a really dumb question for those experienced in this.
tested on L29.
Phone unlocks but I got stuck on Encryption unsuccessful loop. I did full format, but this removed the OS completely.
I have TWRP running though
Ok working unlocked rooted xposed.
Will rooting/unlocking the bootloader void the warranty or trigger some sort of counter that cannot be reset ?

Properly installing LineageOS 14.1 on Honor 5X (KIW-L21)

Good evening XDA Developers Forum,
I am trying to figure out how to install LineageOS 14.1 on a Huawei Honor 5X without getting into too much hassle. (If you are not interested in my chit-chat, I recommend reading only the bold text.)
Why do I need help? I tried to install LineageOS 14.1 right after buying a fresh new Honor 5X following the instructions at the LineageOS-Wiki*, but things didn't went as expected. After 5 days of macgyvering the (suspectedly) bricked phone I managed to get it running again, but not yet with LinageOS. So I wanted to share my experiences to help others having similar problems and I want to avoid too much stress with the next steps. (* I wanted to link to the Wiki, but due to being a new user, I am not allowed to. You may follow the kiwi-Install-Instructions in the LineageOS-Wiki.)
Kind of disclaimer: I've modified my mobile devices a few times in the past years. I rooted and installed CyanogenMod 12.1 and later an XDA-Dev-built Android 7.1.2 on a Nexus 7 3G 2012. I rooted and installed CyanogenMod 12.1 and later 13.0 on a Nexus 5. I stumbled over some problems, but after some trial and error everything worked. Therefore I thought I was a bit experienced and could easily do that stuff with a phone that is listed as "supported"... I didn't ignore mandatory steps of the LineageOS Wiki. I did RTFM and read this forum. I often found questions being close to my problems, but sometimes I didn't understand the answer or often the answers didn't work for me. I hated to see how this forum tried to help new users that didn't reply on questions and how some new users neither followed the instructions nor posted their solution. I promise not to let the thread die before I summarize a solution. As soon as I'm allowed to, I'll link all the files I used to their source, I kept track of them all.
You may skip the history passage if you're not interested in the pre-story or if you don't want to profit of my trial and error experience. So here comes what I did until today:
Update Google USB drivers, already have adb and fastboot installed
Buy a new Huawei Honor 5X
Check its attributes: It's a KIW-L21 with a Huawei version of Android installed, version 5.1.1 and EMUI 3.1. This device is called "kiwi".
Successfully receive unlock code via Huawei
Root the phone via fastboot, until the fastboot & rescue mode screen says "OEM Unlocked, FRP Unlocked"
Flash TWRP 3.1.1.0 (kiwi) to recovery
Push lineage-14.1-20170809-nightly-kiwi-signed.zip to /sdcard on the phone
Wipe cache, system and data
Start install of the above LineageOS .zip file in TWRP
Installation getting aborted with "assert failed: kiwi.verify_trustzone(...) ==1" and ending with an "Error 7"
Learn from the forums that I should have installed "stock MM" first. "MM" seems to be Marshmallow, also known as Android 6.0
Search for images of "stock MM", end with a complete mess of gigabytes of dozens of images, differing by region (Arab/Europe/Americas/etc.), build numbers, firmware stuff, model numbers... oh crap, I don't understand a word
Extract different "stock recoverys" from multiple firmware packages, try to combine them with all kinds of firmwares
Flash stock recovery "recovery_l21_b130.img" to recovery, put SD card with /dload/UPDATE.APP (KIW-L21C432B130CUSTC432D005.dload.modaco.zip) into phone, reboot with Volume-up + power button, start factory reset, end with "data and cache format failed"
Flash stock recovery "recovery_l21_b130.img" to recovery, put SD card with /dload/UPDATE.APP (08_Huawei_KIW-L21_Firmware_C432B130CUSTC432D005_Android 5.1_EMUI 3.1_Finland.zip) into phone, reboot with Volume-up + power button, start factory reset, end with "data and cache format failed"
Flash stock recovery "RECOVERY.img" (from Extracted_L21_B130.zip) to recovery, put SD card with /dload/UPDATE.APP (08_Huawei_KIW-L21_Firmware_C432B130CUSTC432D005_Android 5.1_EMUI 3.1_Finland.zip) into phone, reboot with Volume-up + power button, start factory reset, end with "data and cache format failed"
All of the issues resulted in a boot loop
Wife getting mad because I bricked her new phone and wasted nights for it
Finally find this nice file depot of the Honor 5X in this forum but do not understand all the different headers or the structure of the list
Find out that the used firmware versions may have been too old (although I thought I should have used "stock" and therefore the oldest ones)
Try my luck with flashing L21_B130\RECOVERY.img (from Extracted_L21_B130.zip) to recovery, used "KIW-L21 C432B350 - D003" from the file depot to copy its UPDATE.APP to /dload/ at the external SD card, held both volume buttons and the power button until reboot
The Honor reboots into an autorecovery mode, installing the file from UPDATE.APP automatically and for the first time not cancelling the process
Great success!
I feel myself like I "unbricked" the phone
I am now holding a running Huawei-crippled Android 6.0.1 in my hands
My current situation is a running Huawei Honor 5X with a Huawei-branded Android 6.0.1, EMUI 4.0, build KIW-L21C432B350, custom version CUSTC432D003, fastboot & rescue mode screen saying "PHONE Unlocked". Unfortunately – you may have noticed – that is not LineageOS 14.1, which I actually wanted to install. How do I do that? Should I just follow the wiki instructions? Do I now have a "stock MM installed"? Doesn't it become uninstalled when I wipe system in TWRP before I install LineageOS?
When I try to read information of the phone via "fastboot getvar all", I just get an empty value after "all:". Why is that?
Rather than struggling over anything else when I try to follow the LineageOS wiki install guide again: What should I do or check first? I do not want to get a "kiwi.verify_trustzone" error again. How do I avoid that?
Thanks for your patience in advance!
You're on B350 and it's a good firmware to go (my phone was using it before 'conversion'). Flash twrp via fastboot, clear system/data/caches (backup your and app data first! if you want) and just flash Lineage + gapps (at once, no reboot between). You should be fine.
You are good to go
I have the problem that i cant get MM on it. I am still on b160.
I copied the dload folder for b330 on it and went to updater, menu, local update, update.app and press install
My phone reboots into twrp and nothing happens. I also cant boot into stock recovery. When i press vol up, vol down and power, my phone restarts over and over again. When i release the Buttons it just boots into android.
How do i get b300+ on it?

You can't flash stock images with twrp. You'll have to revert recovery back to stock one (extract image from b160) and then try to update.
ok that was a little bit to fast. do i need to download stock recovery and flash it via adb? because i got TWRP on it this way.

Please do not steal my thread topic. I am trying to complete a tutorial.
you literally had the same problem I have. You had TWRP on it and tried to get stock recovery back to install MM. wouldn't it be part of a tut to explain how you did that? And since you know the answer, cant you tell me?
It worked! I finally got LineageOS working. Thanks to ShadySquirrel and PalakMi for your verification of my installation!
So here is my ultimate tutorial how to install LineageOS 14.1 (= Android 7.1.2) on a brand new Huawei Honor 5X KIW-L21 that comes originally with a Huawei branded Android 5.1.1:
Step 0: Preparation
You have up to date Google USB drivers installed
adb and fastboot are working
You know how to check checksums
You checked your device: It's a KIW-L21 with a Huawei version of Android installed, version 5.1.1 and EMUI 3.1. Your device is called "kiwi".
With your detailed device information, you ordered an unlocking password from Huawei (except your phone is already rooted)
Step 1: Install Stock MM (= Marshmallow = Android 6.0)
Root the phone via fastboot until the fastboot & rescue mode screen says "OEM Unlocked, FRP Unlocked"
You can reach the fastboot & rescue mode screen by plugging your phone via USB to a PC and keep volume-down + power buttons pushed until you see the Honor logo
Download the following images and its checksums and check them to avoid corrupted files:
- Stock recovery image from Extracted_L21_B130.zip: L21_B130\RECOVERY.img
- Stock MM from this nice file depot of the Honor 5X in this forum: KIW-L21 C432B350 - D003
Flash the stock recovery to the phone with fastboot when you are at the fastboot & rescue mode screen: "fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img"
Copy the UPDATE.APP of the above file to /dload/ at an external SD card and put it into the phone
Hold both volume buttons and the power button until reboot
The Honor reboots into an autorecovery mode, installing the file from UPDATE.APP automatically
Wait until it's ready and be happy about your Honor 5X with Stock MM
Check if you are at this status: Huawei Honor 5X with a Huawei-branded Android 6.0.1, EMUI 4.0, build KIW-L21C432B350, custom version CUSTC432D003, fastboot & rescue mode screen saying "PHONE Unlocked"
Step 2: Install LineageOS
Download the following images and its checksums and check them to avoid corrupted files:
- TWRP 3.1.1.0 recovery image for the Honor 5X (kiwi): twrp-3.1.1-0-kiwi.img
- LinageOS 14.1 nightly build for kiwi devices: lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-kiwi-signed.zip
- Open GApps package for ARM64 / Android 7.1 (in my case I choose "pico" to have the calendar and Google Play): open_gapps-arm64-7.1-pico-20170819.zip
Place the files where you can reach them from your adb/fastboot-console
Connect phone via USB to PC
Keep volume-down + power buttons pressed until phone restarts and shows Honor logo, release buttons; "Fastboot & Rescue Mode" screen should appear
On PC, check with "fastboot devices" if phone is connected and ready to go (should list an ID and the state "fastboot")
Flash recovery with "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-kiwi.img"; should report sending and writing with two "OKAY" messages and a "finished"
Try to start recovery mode by keeping volume-up + power buttons pressed until Honor logo appears, release buttons and wait ~ 20 seconds
In my case, this started the Huawei eRecovery – you don't want that (and it's not part of the LineageOS wiki)
Navigate with the volume buttons to "Reboot" and press the power button; phone should boot normally
Once your old Android is up again, activate USB-debugging
Check if adb is connected to your PC with "adb devices"; you must allow access to the device on your phone when prompted, the device should appear with the serial number and the state "device"
Restart into the recovery mode you really want with "adb reboot recovery" and wait until TWRP boots; allow writing on its first start
Check if adb is connected to your PC with "adb devices"; the device should appear with the serial number and the state "recovery"
Push LineageOS image and Google apps to phone with "adb push lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-kiwi-signed.zip /sdcard/" and "adb push open_gapps-arm64-7.1-pico-20170819.zip /sdcard/"; both should report transferred size and time
Do not forget to push the md5 checksums if you are paranoid like me
Backup everything to an external SD card from the Backup menu in TWRP (needed 4021 MB of space and took ¼ hour in my case)
Seriously, backup! Even though you haven't done anything with the phone yet. You have a running firmware, that's worth a lot
In TWRP, select "Wipe" and then "Advanced Wipe"
Check "Cache", "Data" and "System" and swipe to wipe
Go "Back" to return to main menu, then select "Install"
As you have backed up to an external SD card, "Select Storage" to "Internal Storage"
Navigate to "/sdcard", select lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-kiwi-signed.zip and swipe to confirm flash; should not take more than a minute
When it's done, do not reboot but navigate back to "Install" and install Google apps by selecting open_gapps-arm64-7.1-pico-20170819.zip and swiping to flash
Once installation has finished, return to the main menu, select "Reboot", and then "System"; the Honor logo will appear shortly
LineageOS 14.1 is now being initialized
Disconnect phone from PC
Profit!
I'll provide links to the images as soon as this forum allows me to.

You are right, sorry, I was being too harsh. I'd like to post the link to the recovery image I've had success with, but I am not allowed to do so. Maybe you'll find it when you look for it and follow the instructions of my last post (Step 1). Does it work?

Hi I want the same kind of tutorial for KIW-L22 also. I tried almost every methods to flash any custom ROM. But all ended up as a failure. WhatI did was, I was in KIW-L22C675B360 version of EMUI. I unlocked the bootloader the official way, flashed twrp as proposed by TWRP site (fastboot flash recovery my-twrp.img). I booted into recovery successfully. I BackedUp all my partitions (Thank god that I did this). Then I wiped my Data, Dalvik-Cache, Cache, System, Android Secure. Then I flashed the latest Lineage OS (lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-kiwi-signed.zip) and flashed the latest Open Gapps nano. Then I rebooted. There was no problem with the installation. Then the boot animation started loading and I was waiting to see LineageOS. :crying: :crying: But all of a sudden, the boot animation freezes and the phone starts rebooting. This was happening all the time no matter how many times the phone rebooted. I thought it might be a ROM problem and i went back to twrp by holding power up when the phone rebooted. Wipes all as before and flashed certain other ROMs like AospExtended, MIUI 8 (PatchRom), etc but neither of them booted. I don't know what to do after that and I restored my old TWRP backup and now I'm on stock EMUI KIW-L22C675B360. I would be thankful if I get a solution to solve this problem. Waiting eagerly for answers.

[GUIDE] Huawei P10 Debrand/Rebrand/Update for Nougat&Oreo "Updated_19.5.2018"
Huawei P10 debrand/rebrand/update GUIDE
This thread will be discontinued, because Huawei refuses to provide unlock codes in the future, because of security reasons.
A shame that after the support end of the device it will be quite useless, cause you don´t get any security updates and have no chance to make secure again, by flashing something else.
I recommend you not buy any Huaweidevices in the future cause of that.
Disclaimer:
Before you do anything (stupid), backup your data!!!! Don´t make me or others responsible, i warned you!!!!!
If you wan´t to go back to your orginial version some day, you have to backup your OEMinfo!!! Best way to that is via TWRP before the rebranding ( see details of STEP 1)
When using the follwing script, take your time and drink a cup of coffee/tea!!!! First rule, don´t panic!!! Don´t do any (unnecessary) extra steps, while using the script!!!
Be aware that the phone sometimes takes longer for a step to finish, or you get stuck on a certain procedure (maybe depending on your branding). Key is to what to do at this point e.g. how to boot manually into fastboot.
If for some reason you must restart the procedure and factory reset appeared for the step, remember to look for the debugsettings and other mandatory settings.
Please use the orginal cable that came with the device for the rebranding and not some cheap aftermarket stuff. Also make sure you USB-Port has enough power (Might be the case on some notebooks)
70% of the posts/questions here are answered, if you read the gude carefully. So do you´re job and read!!!! Yes, i know it´s a lot to read, but details will maybe save your a**
Make sure you removed security pin from the device and also remove the google-account from the device itself, so you are not triggering googlesecuritysystem on nougat or oreo.
If you have a carrier version of the singleSIM P10 (VTR-L09xxxx) and you want rebrand or debrand it, you have to use the firmware for DualSIM (VTR-L29xxxx), or you SIM won´t be recognized anymore!
The good thing is, after that, you´ll be able to use both SIM or SIM and microSD. The provided HWOTA rom is mainly for the L29. If you want the L09 you have to replace the "update_all_hw.zip" in the update folder. If you not sure how to get, take a look in the Huawei-Forums
From Oreo to Oreo:
1. Download: @AndroidFilehost: HWOTA8_P10_B369a (Oreo) (MD5-Hash: fd330a74d22d2ef55a02bfcfdcea33ee )
All important files are inside this package!!
2. The steps for the this procedure are described here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-oreo-update-package-t3699522
From Nougat To Oreo (or Nougat to Nougat, if you use the older files):
STEP 1 (optional steps for the oeminfo backup are cursive)
1. Unlock your bootloader: (There´s no way around it (unfortnuately), but after the procedure your device will be locked again, so don´t worry!)
The device will make a factory reset, so once again, BACKUP your files!!!!!!!!!!
If you already unlocked your bootloader with installed twrp you can go to step 2. You don´t have to install TWRP in the following miniguide. the script installs it automatically.
But if you want to backup your system or the OEMinfo you have to do this step.
1. Request an unlock code: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGwoQ44zqykuTfjCQrVP07JOHBYnBcAxAbz9SAVxPTFqMh9g/viewform or contact Huawei via live chat on their site.
It may take some time till you get the code. Hopefully they revamp their old unlocksite in the future, cause using a googleform seems to be temporary solutions anyways.
I also found a nice handy tool, but haven´t testet it yet on the p10 and officially it isn´t yet supported (for now only P20): https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711 If can prove that it´s working for the P10 just leave a comment in the thread here or in the orginal thread.
2 Download Hisuite and install: HiSuite
3. Enable ‘USB debugging’ and ‘OEM Unlock’ option from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.
4. Install the ADB Minimal Installer or ADB and Fastboot for Mac and then restart if you already have the driver installed then skip this step.
5. Download TWRP for the P10
6. Now go to ADB and Fastboot installation directory open ADB folder and open the command window as an administrator
7. Connect your phone to PC and reboot the device into fastboot mode by typing “adb reboot bootloader”.
8. Type “fastboot devices” in command prompt and hit enter, it gives you serial numbers in return means your phone connected properly.
10. To unlock bootloader, type fastboot oem unlock yourunlockkey. Here replace unlock key with the key you got. For example “fastboot oem unlock 1234567890″.
11. If you want TWRP at this point you have to copy the downloaded twrp.img-file into the adb directory and type fastboot flash recovery twrpimage.img If you already have oreo running on your device, you must use this updatepackage and follow the guide <.--instead of twrpimage.img type in the exact filename you´ve downloaded.
12. To restart the system type “fastboot reboot”
13. Boot into TWRP and make a Backup of the "OEMinfo" and/or the system. You should be able to that without any guide, otherwise it´s a big mistake keep reading and following this guide!!!
STEP 2
1. Depending on your variant (You can check with the app firmwarefinder and imei, if the update is approved) use:
@AndroidFilehost: HWOTA_P10_B369a (Oreo) (MD5-Hash: b935a84180565fb1717a46d7337f2d43 )
@AndroidFilehost: HWOTA_P10_B365 (Oreo) (MD5-Hash: dbcd30e157625fc6d709b26d49421bb6 )
@MegaUpload: HWOTA_P10_B360 (Oreo) (MD5-Hash: E75DCD3950517E517865878DF8F21679 )
Be aware, it takes some modifications to the script if you wan´t to rollback to nougat. You´ll find guides here on xda for that. So really be sure if you want the new oreo version.
Also you bootloader may stay unlocked after using the script to update to oreo. You have to relock it manually. Boot in fastboot mode and use: fastboot relock INSERTYOURUNLOCKKEYHERE. After relocking your device will once again do a factory reset.
@MegaUpload: HWOTA_P10_B180 (Nougat) (MD5-Hash: 7E11EE56E83AB98DA4DE03273A6A7633 )
@MegaUpload: HWOTA_P10_B179 (Nougat) (MD5-Hash: 7D133B7484E7B4AABA84BA1284D148EC )
some older versions of the hwota:
@MegaUpload: HWOTA_P10_B164
@MegaUpload: HWOTA_P10_B130
and extract it on your PC or your device SD Card. I recommend using 7zip.
2. Run the update.bat file from a preopended CMD with adminrights, It will ask you if you copied the files. Press any key to continue.
3. Now connect your device and Reboot into Bootloader mode using “Volume Down + Power” or just use “adb reboot bootloader” then press any key.
4. The above step will install TWRP in your device.
5. Now Disconnect USB Cable and turn off your device and use “Volume Up + Power” to enter TWRP.
6. Once you’re in TWRP mode, plug in the USB cable again and press the Enter key on your computer.
7. If your files are saved in the HWOTA folder on the SD card, type 1 and press ENTER and if files are saved in the HWOTA/Update folder on your PC, type 2 and press ENTER. I recommend using the sdcard, cause you avoid problems with cheap cables, driverproblems, etc. Make sure you sdcard is fully working and has no errors.
8. It’ll ask you the update type, again type 1 and press the Enter button twice.
9 Done! Be patient an let it do it thing.
10. If you have any problems booting, i recommend doing an low-level factory reset after.
11. Run the update.bat file as an administrator, It will ask you if you copied the files. Press any key to continue.
12. Now connect your device and Reboot into Bootloader mode using “Volume Down + Power” or just use “adb reboot bootloader” then press any key.
13. The above step will install TWRP in your device.
14. Now Disconnect USB Cable and turn off your device and use “Volume Up + Power” to enter TWRP.
15. Once you’re in TWRP mode, plug in the USB cable again and press the Enter key on your computer.
16. If your files are saved in the HWOTA folder on the SD card, type 1 and press ENTER and if files are saved in the HWOTA/Update folder on your PC, type 2 and press ENTER. I recommend using the harddrive of the pc
17. It’ll ask you the update type, again type 1 and press the Enter button twice.
18. Done! Be patient an let it do it´s thing.
19. If you have any problems booting, i recommend doing an low-level factory reset after.
20. If you are rebranding your device with this method, you have to do the whole "STEP 2" again in order to flash the new system files correctly. Also sometimes the device gets stuck on installing the new system after pushing the big updatefiles via adb. Wait 10min and if nothings happens you have to longpress the power key in order to complete.
21. After the new firmwarefiles have been pushed the device will make a factory reset, if it fails, restart the device while pressing Power+Volume up and factory reset the device from the orginal recovery. If enter TWRP at this point, something went wrong.
After that, you´ll be able to get updates directly from huawei via systemupdate or use the awesome firmware finder from the playstore.
If you wondering how to use the firmware finder, watch this guide and do it step by step: Firmware Finder Tutorial If you don´t want to rebrand/debrand this maybe enough for you!
STEP 3 (Optional Update Method 1)
If you have already unlocked your bootloader und installed TWRP, you can also use this method to install the new system update (Don´t try it if you are running oreo or wan´t to install it!! There is no stable und fully functioning version of TWRP for Oreo yet!!!):
1. Make a complete backup of your current system via twrp and save the backup to sd or your pc.
2. Download one of the Huawei P10_HWOTA files from above, save it on your device and unzip it
3. Navigate to the update folder in the HWOTA-folder and copy the 3 files to your device (sdcard recommended)
4. Now Boot your device into TWRP
5. In TWRP flash "update.zip" and don´t reboot!!!
6. Flash "update_all_hw.zip" and don´t reboot!!!
7. Flash "update_data_public.zip"
6. Wait until all files are flashed
7. Done! Reboot TWRP
STEP 4 (Optional Update Method 2):
1. download and install Firmware Finder
2. start the app and search for the exact model you want to update for example VTR-L29C432
3. Look for an FullOTA package and check with your IMEI if the device is approved, otherwise it won´t install cause huawei hasn´t signed the update for your device (IMEI) yet.
3. hit the button "inapp proxy" and setup the proxy with localhost and port 8080 in your phone´s wifi settings.
4. check for the update in systemupdate-app from huawei on your phone, start the update and pause it quickly (at 1-3%).
5. delete the proxy in your wifi settings.
6. resume the update
7. After successful download your device will reboot and install the update
If it fails there actually 3 reasons:
1. your Wifi is crap
2. you didn´t do the steps correctly
3. the firmware isn´t approved for your device, so be sure to check with imei before

Pressing Power + Volume Down will launch the Fastboot Mode
Pressing Power + Volume Up will launch the Recovery Mode
Pressing Power + Volume Down with connected USB will launch the Fastboot Mode in forcemode (might useful if you can´t boot to the bootloader)
Pressing Power + Volume Down+Up will launch the forced firmwareupdate if you have the suitable updatefiles on your sdcard in a folder named "dload"
Turning your phone off and then pressing Volume Down while pluging in your USB-Cable will launch the Fastboot Mode
This whole thing was only possible because of the hard work of other heros here on xda!!

I´m not 100% sure, but in my opionion your VTR-AL00 (should be the china version with playstore) has exactly the same hardware as the VTR-L29. Be sure to backup you system or at least only your oeminfo.
In case you rebranding doesn´t function you can revert back to your orginal version via TWRP. Maybe you should try the 636 instead of the 432, depending on your location.

Really sure, think about it twice, most people want rebrand their phone to L09 or L29. I makes no sense to rebrand to VTR-L00, the only advantage i see, is that you get updates earlier, but in fact the other variants get really often updates too.
People with VTR-L00 bought their device cheap in china and want to rebrand because of the missing playstore, or thr missing LTE bands.
Here you can see the differences between the variants:

I´m sorry i can´t provide yoo a oeminfo for the VTR-L00.

Actually in VTR-AL00 you have more features and the updates are faster. Moreover, you can install play store
By the way in case I don't like it, I can go back to European version. But at the moment I want to try VTR-AL00!
Do you know where I can download it or do you know someone who has it?
Thank you

Be sure to stick exactly to the steps! After its finished wait at least 15min.
If the device won´t reboot itself, you have to switch it off and maybe make a low level reset via orginal recovery, if you´re stuck in a boot loop.
Happened to me on 1 of 5 flashes.

Maybe you forgot to unplug the cable. Just repeat the steps to this point. If you however get stuck, try to flash a custom rom for the p10 from this section, at least you get your device working again.
Maybe you find a solution here: [Guide] Mate 9 Flash Update Package and Rebrand it´s the same batch from mankindtw, only with files for the p10.

Maybe the update.bat hates you, just kiddin Open a CMD as admin run the update.bat from there. What you describe is a common problem and relates to a lot of other batchfiles

Please read again everything in Step 1, there lies your answer how to get your TWRP and what to activate in developersettings. This step has nothing to do with the update.bat and is absolutely crucial and mandatory.
After installing TWRP the official way, make a backup and continue.

O.K. now i understand, did you set OEM-Unlocking in Developer Options? It seems like you have a locked FRP and your device doesn´t allow flashing the custom recovery.

K, now we are talking. Only thing you can do is flash your rom back to stock the semi-official way:
Download the firmware finder from the playstore.
Search for your device (not the one you want rebrand to) and check with IMEI in Firmware Finder just to be sure. Here you have a guide: Firmware Finder Tutorial
If you prefer reading, you can also follow this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-update-p10-via-firmware-finder-app-t3674477
Then you should be back to normal. When it´s finished you can try again, just be really sure following the steps and do no extra steps!! ....for Instance wiping something after you installed TWRP
You can try the dload method instead, but i recommend doing it via firmwarefinder, simply cause it will work.

Question turning into a brick after returning from android 13 to android 12

I decided to go back to - my Pixel 6 phone was in beta testing on Android 13. I decided to go back to android 12. I have left the beta testing program. The update was sent to the phone after my phone turned off and no longer turns on. Only in recovery mode. At the same time, it does not work to flash through ADB Error when applying the update: 7 (Error code: :Error opening the installation device). Maybe I need a OTA firmware from 2022-06-05
I am in this situation, I was using Android 13 for a while and recently installed Beta 2. After two days I found that I was returning to Android 12, opt-out from the Beta program, entered the update and the phone suddenly turned off. Of course, I didn't enabled USB Debugging. I started reading articles on Reddit that the phone was already bricked. I have been fighting this Pixel for 4 hours now, I will let you know if something can be fixed.
Okey. I was able to fix it! First and foremost, do not make my mistake and know what the difference between OTA image and Factory image is. I downloaded Factory and got errors with a wrong signature.
- OTA for phones with locked bootloader (sideload)
- Factory image for phones with unlocked bootloader (flashing)
The OTA image version cannot be older than the current one.
Download latest OTA image, you can download one here:

Download and install latest Google USB Driver (i recommend to reboot your PC after that):
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.
developer.android.com
Download and unzip Platform Tools:
SDK Platform Tools release notes | Android Studio | Android Developers
Android SDK Platform-Tools is a component for the Android SDK.
developer.android.com
Open CMD in unzipped Platform Tools folder:
Turn your Pixel into recovery mode (Video here) - power button + volume down button, choose recovery mode using volume buttons and press power button, after that you should see black screen with small android image and No command text, then press and hold power button and press volume up.
Choose Wipe data/factory reset.
Connect your Pixel to the computer.
Go back to CMD and type adb devices, you should be able to see your Pixel in sideload status.
On Pixel choose Apply update from ADB
Still in CMD, type adb sideload path_to_the_OTA_zip_file for example:
adb sideload C:\Users\PixelUser\Downloads\oriole-ota-tpb3.220610.004-988fd1c3.zip
Wait until end of sideloading.
Done.

Hi.I also have this issue. Were you able to achieve this without usb debugging enabled?
You don't need USB Debugging if you want to sideload. OTA or “over-the-air” update can be flashed with relative ease and will not restore any of your app or system settings when applied. To go back to a previous Android version, you will want a “factory” image.
Hello, I can't solve the problem by cmd, I get a message that I can't read. What am I doing wrong? I was in android 13 beta 3.3 and I have left the beta program to go to A12 and it no longer works, I follow the steps but the error appears

You should change name of the file. Like update.zip. and do you have all drivers installed?
Make sure that you perform a data wipe from recovery before attempting to sideload. This fixed the same issue for me.

I have already done it and I get this
Have you attempted sideload since data wiping?
I have already solved it thanks to your advice
thank you very much and very grateful
Hopefully this helps someone, but for an experienced noob like me I had trouble getting into recovery mode because my device was seemingly stuck at the "Your device is corrupted" error screen.
@pindlosz1 directions helped, but to get into the recovery for my Pixel 5, I had to hold the key combination (power + volume down) for about 20 seconds or so. While holding them it went to the Google logo but _keep holding it down_ otherwise it goes back to the corrupted screen.
Eventually I made it to a menu where I could select recovery. The phone did, again, show me the corrupted device screen, but this time continuing went to _No command_ screen instead of a boot loop. From there, I pressed power and tapped volume down and was at a recovery menu.
Finally, the rest of the steps worked, _except_, upon restarting it still said corrupted device. However, I was able to continue and it loaded Android.
