Question How to local upgrade from Android 11 - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hello everyone,
I tried to upgrade my Nord 2 (EU) device from Oxygen Updater and I downloaded 11_C.01 zip update file, but the instructions given from the app for local upgrade lead to nothing.
The apk that the app suggested can't be installed as my device runs Android 11 and recovery mode says that the version is older as the current (I have 11_A.21, how is it possible?).
So I want your help to update my device, thank you in advance!

You need to wait the new update for A12 which will have android security patch newer than 11_A.21. Or downgrade to 11_A.20 which have lower than 11_C.01. So will update without issues. The reason is that 11_A.21 is newer than 11_C.01.OnePlus development schedule....
Btw, DN2103_11_C.08 is available for some users.

To downgrade from A.21 to A.20 you can use the excellent guide from @Raygen:
[STOCK][FULL-ROM] OxygenOS_11.3_A.20 EU DN2103 | Unbrick guide
/* * Your warranty is... still valid! * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. * Please do some research yourself before asking or use anything on this...

Cheers.

MediaPad M5 Pro - How can I update to Android 9/10?

Hello,
I have a MatePad M5 Pro that is stuck on Android 8.
Model: CMR-W19
I don't care if it's official ROM or custom ROM. I would like to maintain the WidevineL1 and mpen and keyboard support.
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Try downloading HiSense software onto a PC, then connect your Mediapad to the PC and it will check for updates, even if checking for updates on your Mediapad itself doesn't find any.
This worked for mine. I was stuck on 8 too, until HiSense found an update and did the update on my Mediapad, then the Mediapad was able to find further incremental updates itself.

You could try downloading and sideloading.
All updates are here;

Any idea which to use? There are a lot of different Android 9 builds.
And how do I sideload on this device? Sorry if that's a noob question. haven't had to do this for a number of years.
When you click on a version to download, it gives you full instructions on how to install.
You are best going up in stages.
Find the same version that you have currently installed, then download the next version number up.
They're all for the same device, but that is a list of every update that's been released.
So install the next version up from yours, then try searching for the next update manually on your device to see if it then triggers it to keep updating itself. If need, just keep running the updates by SD card method.

Thanks! Im guessing I just can't install the latest update first?
I'm not sure.
Mine did incremental (about 6 in total), even though the latest one was newest.
To be sure, you're best off going up in order.
Because it's fully stock and you're doing in the correct way, it will scan first, so any issues and it won't install - so nothing to lose.
Hi all,
Had a read through this thread to see if there was any chance of an Android Update for my device but from the answers given, I can't seem to find anything.
I'm using an M5 Pro 10.8 (CMR-L09 - Cellular) on 8.0.0.203 and the Huawei Updater site doesn't seem to have anything above this for my model.
If I was to look at installing an OTA for the likes of the CMR-W19, would this harm my device at all?
They're both Cellular, both 10.8". Only thing I can really see different is that they are 64GB and I'm 32GB.
Also, as a side question, I don't have a PC, what's the best way to download and install an update using the device itself?
I look forward to a reply!

In regards to the part of if it would be bad..
CMR-W19 is not an LTE model. So if you do successfully flash the ROM, not sure if you would have issues with LTE.
Ahhh, glad I checked! Thanks for the reply!

Would I use the OTA-MF or FULLOTA-MF?
CMR-AL19 (m5 Pro 64gb LTE) here. I'm on 8.0.0.199 Android 8.0 With July 19 Security patches. No Update available. Huawei support told me there is no newer version available for this Model.... I'm abit mad coz it's even the 'pro' Model..

Rolling back my LG V30 to Android 8 (Oreo)

I have an app that does not work after Android 8 that I need and there is no replacement in 9 or above. I managed to avoid updating my v30 to v9 and later for a year or so. It accidentally allowed the update to 9 this past weekend while I was camping. All I want to do is roll back to stock v8 or 8.1 (Oreo).
I have enough tech knowledge to follow directions and understand rooting but am having a really hard time finding the "right directions." As I was reading some of them, I found caveats like, "Use X unless you have the delta update and then use Y but not if you want to run Z. For Z, you have to follow this other thread." I also know that using the wrong settings or data file could brick the phone.
So, I'm hoping someone can help me narrow down what sets of directions I need to follow.
Here's what I have right now:
LG V30 (VS996) On Verizon Network
Developer Options Enabled
Android V9
Security Patch Level August 1, 2019
Kernel Version: 4.4.153
Build #: PKQ1.190414.001
Software version: VS99630c
Again, all I want to do is roll back to stock v8 or 8.1 (Oreo).
Bonus would also be a way to stop asking me every day to update or delay a day and just wait until I manually do it.
Thx in advance!!
Download the right firmware file for your device from here -
Models - LG-Firmwares.com
Free archive of LG firmwares. Comparison of features and reviews of all mobile devices. Quick download of updates for your device.
lg-firmwares.com
Then download the flash tool from here -
LG Flash Tool Free Download - Official Download Links
LGUP tool is the latest version of LG Flash Tool that allows users to flash stock firmware on LG smartphones and tablet devices. Download LG UP tool 2018 from the official download links.
lgflash.com
Follow the instructions on both the pages. I think you can take it from here.
Note that implied with this process is that you cannot downgrade your firmware without wiping the phone... there's no way to "patch" back to the old version. So, be sure to take backups FIRST.
If you're rooted on the old firmware, you can then disable/freeze/delete the update APKs so that the update warning goes away. But this requires root, so be aware of that. If you don't haven't rooted already, then this is a process of its own, and will require you to go back to Nougat in order to perform that, so you may want to do that before installing the final version of the ROM you want. You can find out how to do this rooting process on the WTF thread, post #193, located here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ar-instructions.3790500/page-10#post-76584629
If you don't want to root, that's fine, but then you must endure the update warning process... unless you can find another way to disable the update APKs.
Thank you both. I expected to wipe the phone so that's not an issue. I will first install Nougat, root and then update to Oreo.
There are about 14 Oreo ROMs on that site. Do I just pick the latest one or do I have to pick the earliest one and update that?
Pick the latest one.

Does Lineage OS work on most/any old android devices?

Sorry- Im probably in the wrong area... Does lineage os work on most old android devices? I have an old HP Slate 21 - its a 21" all in one android machine that I got back in 2014. It runs Android 4. I am trying to update it to a newer operating system if possible. One of the apps I use requires at least android 5 and I saw Lineage OS 17.1 shows it works on this old HP Slate 21 on here:

I am not sure if that site is legit or just some kind of junk site.
from my experience, tweakdroid is just a junk site with no valid links or working tutorials
also, android lollipop is android 5

note that its for the "phobos" model (apparently there is phobos and ranger), the same developer also has twrp for the device. make sure that your model is the phobos one.
android 5.1.1 isnt very recent tho, and considering that your device is running lollipop (android 5), its not even much of an update, and it probably also is buggy.
if your device is running android 4 (icecream sandwich), then it may be a good upgrade if you want more play store compatability. lineage will definitely be faster than whatever rom hp installs into the device, but it will have its fair share of bugs.
Thanks. We just use the HP Slate 21 in my office for 1 app (a digital sign in board called Frontdesk). This app we used stopped working over the weekend because of an SSL certificate issue. The developer is saying the app now requires a newer version of android to connect to its SSL server. I wish HP had put out a newer android version officially but I guess this Android all in one is super old now. Im currently on android 4.4.2 (kitkat , I mistakenly said lollipop before)
Oh, well i guess you could give this a go:

It's android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). Ask the dev if the app supports android 5 (it should), and make sure that you have the correct model. if all is good, give it a go. there'll be some bugs (e.g. camera or something like that), but at least you app will work!

If you're on android 4.4.2 KitKat u need to upgrade. u can't even play clash of clans on that device anymore since it requires at least lollipop or higher.
Yeah, most apps have dropped support for android kitkat, with android 5 and 6 (lollipop and marshmallow) being the bare minimums for compatability now. The upgrade is defo recommended, just be aware of the bugs accompanied by it, and try not to brick your device!

Then patch boot.img with magisk to avoid update to higher version and keep root. Ignore update requests from system update software.

[Solved] Unable to unlock bootloader with ANE-LX1

Hello, i've just got a Huawei P20 Lite ANE-LX1 with EMUI 9.1.0.381 from a friend. It's my first Huawei and since i am usually running my phones with custom roms, i want to install a custom rom to it. Usually i am trying to get phones that have a reasonable unlock process but this was a gift and i thought it should be possible to install something anyways.
After spending hours into this and reading allot of posts on this forum, i am not eager to open up the hardware and go this potatoe way. I've watches some Youtube videos about the process and i am not sure, if i can manage to get the phone back together. So i was trying the other way with downgrading EMUI to 8 using dload method in order to run dc-unlocker. But somehow i am unable to do so. I am always ending up with "incompatibility with current version" error. I've tried using the dailer code menu, as well as the 3 buttons method. It's not working at all. I've tried multiple versions from androidhost.ru for this phone. There were no options to downgrade to any prior version using HiSuite as well.
Can someone help me to unlock the bootloader for my phone?

If the rollback option is not available with your HiSuite ("switch to the older version" or "Earlier version"), you must downgrade to the lower EMUI 9 build version number doing the dload method (flashing Service ROM ). What is your region? (Cxxx in build number).
Btw, it's impossible to downgrade to the lower EMUI version via dload method.
Hello, thanks for your reply. My current build number is C432E7R1P7. I think i figured that i should use C432 versions but i haven't thought about using another 9.x version and instead go straight to 8.x. Is any lower 9.x version ok?

On EMUI 8 (in order to run dc-unlocker) you need downgrade to .126:

With .126 you should be able to use dc or hcu-client .
Thanks, you've helped me allot! I've got it working and have the bootloader unlocked. Going forward, i was reading your LOS 17/18 thread. I could add a comment there but since we are writing here now, i am going to ask here:
I am still with EMUI 8. Is it actually needed to install another version of EMUI in order to install LineageOS? Isn't it possible to just install TWRP and go on from there?

LOS/LiR requires emui 9.1. Do not install the latest version, flash 9.1.0.200 via dload.
Finally made it and finished installing LOS. Thanks again for your help. I've marked the thread as solved.
No problem .
