Themes / Apps / Mods [Magisk Module] A52 Patches | Secure Folder Fix and more - Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

This is a magisk module that patches/enable Secure Folder and more to work on rooted phones. A52 5G EditionFor more mods for the A52, also try: A52-Hidden-ModsNote: It should only be used on the Galaxy A52 (SM-A526B). Testing on other devices is at your own risk.
In case something doesn't work, remove the module. It will revert everything to its normal state.
If you bootloop (Which is extremely unlikely), boot into safe mode and remove the module.
If you stumble on any problems, please open a new issue on GitHub. I will take care of it ASAP.

Could a future fix also include getting the galaxy wearable app to install from play Store + actually work?

Is the stored information still encrypted in Secure folder using this mod?

That's strange that it doesn't work for you because, for me, it works normally. But you can try https://adil.hanney.org/SamsungAppsPatcher/. This patches Samsung health galaxy wearables etc.

From what I know, it should still be encrypted.

Just gonna post a plain reply cause I have no idea how to quote. I'm not sure of it's just the Patched app for my specific watch (GWA2) but it gets to the pairing process than just repeatedly crashes. Would a fix be on the table in the future for this module?

Sadly I have a USA version of the phone, SM-A526U1
Unless you know for sure that would work with my model..
I used to root my own stuff, Note 2-3 but have been out of the scene for quite a while.
Don't want to risk bricking it.
Thanks for the quick reply btw.

I'm not really sure but you can always remove the module if it doesn't work. In case of bootloop you can enter safe mode and all the modules will turn off automatically and then restart the phone normally and delete the module and enable the rest that you have.

ok, thanks!
I may man up and try it then, since it really irked me that Samsung software locked what I would consider a basic function of the phone, to force USA customers to buy a flagship phone for that feature.

Well sad news for you, U.S. phones have their bootloaders permanently locked so you won't be able to use Magisk to gain root access or even install this module.

[Q] No multiple user account management in lte version

There seems to be no multiple user account management in the lte version, are there anyways to enable it?
Have been unsuccessfully searching for it myself. The tab has SMS and phone features, but no user account management. I think Sony has confused it with a telephone...
I really wasn't aware of this, I totally wouldn't have got the lte version had I known. I hope someone is able to mod this soon.
I read somewhere Nokia has a patent regarding sim enabled tablets with multiple users... Grrr.
Hi all, there is no fix for this?
Could please a LTE model owner who is rooted try this Xposed module:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=droidmate.multiuser.xposed
and report whether it works or not?
Says it works only on phones and only on AOSP ROMs, but since the Sony ROM is pretty AOSP-like, it's worth the try...
(Don't forget to have Xposed Disabler zip file on SD card )

ah, so there is as of today, I should have looked... I'll root mine and try this out and let you know!
Sony now offically stated that the LTE variant is based on the Phone Software (Z2) and thus does not get Multiuser capabilities.
The design of SGP521 is based on phone software. Therefore there is no user account functionality available in SGP521, like in SGP512 and SGP511.

[Q] Custom kernal that has knox disabled and SELinux in permissive mode?

Hi all, is there a custom kernel that has Knox disabled and SELinux in permissive mode by default? I cant seem to find one, and I need it to use my S5 with AppRadio2.

No kernel can fully disable knox. In the S5 it is a hardware function that is built in. As of this time there is no way to root or modify the system without tripping knox. All the custom roms do have knox fully disabled in the system and removed though.

Phone is rooted and currently on NE9 running jasmine rom.
trying to flash a custom kernel but i think im doing it wrong, kernel version isnt chaning... not seeing much kernel support for the G900V either...
Thanks,
I am also willing to donate for a step by step way to get my tmobile s5 and arliberator and appradio 2. Glad I found this thread thought I was only one with problem. I have not done any rooting yet and scared to do it. Love stock rom if i can keep it that would be awesome. Again willing to donate...
I'm willing to donate before I get help if that helps... I need to root without triping Knox or have a app that sets it to 0 like triangle way did with my s3 and my Samsung note 10.1 2012. Thanks again

Unfortunately it's not looking very likely that a knox counter reset will be found anytime soon. I've been scouring the internets for a solution as well.
Does anyone know if you can screen mirror with the AEL kernel and SELinux set to permissive on the S5?
Looking for that info as well

Glad to hear you made it work!
We know you must be very busy but if you could give us 5 mins that would be great! We are all wondering what did you do to make it work. We have few questions.
1. Which Custom Rom are you using? Could you please share that Custom Rom with us with the LINK ?
2. You said you flashed the AEL Kernel. How do you flash a Kernel? And where can we find it?
Also, did you face any issue after installing the custom rom and AEL Kernel? Please let us know.

You should probably do some research on the forums on flashing a custom kernel. There's lots of info out there and I wouldn't recommend wading into those waters until you thoroughly acquaint yourself with the risks and benefits of making such modifications. In brief though you generally flash a kernel with a similar method you use to flashing a custom rom. Like I said be careful though. If you flash the wrong kernel for your device you might end up with a paperweight composed of equal parts plastic glass and aluminum.
With regards to this whole selinux permissive issue: I have been emailing back and forth with the developer of appradio unchained reloaded (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mars.area51.arunchained&hl=en) and he told me he is trying to design a work-around for the selinux permissive requirement. It sounds like it's still in the early stages but we can hope.
I would be happy with just a stock rom and a kernal that sets selinux to permissive.. don't care about Knox anymore

Thanks for getting back to me. I did some research as you suggested and I have some update on this. I wanted to share with everyone here who might be trying to do the same thing like me.
I was able to Disable the KNOX and set SE to permissive. I used Omega v11 Custom for this. Omega v11 does the both requirements we are looking for. It Disables KNOX and set SE to Permissive. But first I flashed a recovery using "Philz Touch". Then from the recovery i installed the Omega Zip file. Everything went smoothly and i was ready to connect my phone to the appradio 3.
First I download the ARUnchained Reloded App from google play. Then connected my phone to the Samsung Adapter which is also connected to the Pioneer CD-AH200 cables going back of my AppRadio 3 (DA210) HDMI port. When you connect your phone to the adapter 2(two) apps will become visible. APPs and Pandora button. When I run the app ARUnchained it takes me to the home screen where you will find START, STOP and HOME button. Before i pressed the START on ARU, i went to my HU( Head Unit) and clicked on the APP option. It showed me a Message telling me to make sure i am connected to the Bluetooth and I have appradio App installed by Pioneer. I clicked on Ignore since my HU was connected to the bluetooth already. I didnt install Appradio App since i don't need that. Then it showed me an warning sign telling me not to watch video while driving and put my car on Park. So I have a bypass installed which allows me not to do all those crazy stuff. After switching the bypass on another message screen comes off and i simply clicked on OK.
Now i was mirroring my phone on the HU. I went to ARUnchained app and clicked on Start and nothing happens. Top left side of the phone on notification panel shows letter "R" with "x" sign on top of it. I believe it means HU couldn't connect to the ARU. Also its showing "Listening for Connection" on the screen. I tried moving the screen on HU but it gives me that hand with X sign.
Question is What am i doing wrong? And why is it not working? I went to ARU diagnostics and almost all the options are checked except "Installed as system app" and "Can switch mock locations". Do you think these two options has to be checked as well? If you have ARU, what does it show for you under setting > Diagnostics ? Please let me know.
I made a video on youtube showing whatever i just mentioned here. That might help you to understand better what is happening with my configuration.
Please help me out here and i promise if i can make this work, i will do a step by step HOW TO youtube video on this matter and i am pretty sure we all want to see solve this issue as well.
Video : Since i cannot share video here, look for a video with title "AppRadio ARUnchained Issue" by RockOnRay.

[Kernel/Root] Root for the SM-A700F LL

Root method for lollipop for the SM-A700F THIS WILL TRIP KNOX. If you don't want to trip knox don't use this. If you do use it and whine you tripped knox because you didn't read ,we will all point and laugh at you.
Named it TrapKernel because well its not my normal HispAsian Kernel and I listened to a crap ton of Trap Music while doing it.
Thanks to @g.lewarne and his root method with his Unibase and Unikernel for the s6 , we finally have root after I ported it over to us. So be sure to thank him for his work.
What's included:
Auto installation of root and busy box
Kernel set to permissive
Otherwise stock
So here's the deal. Stupid simple.
1. Put Phone in Download mode
2. Open Odin
3. Connect Phone
4. Put Kernel in AP Slot
5.Flash it
6. Reboot and profit
Notes:
Download SuperSu from the Playstore. Its not included.
If at first it doesnt boot, hold the power button til it shuts off and reboot.
To fix wifi passwords= Open build.prop and change ro.securestorage=true to ro.securestorage=false
Download
Do NOT mirror this link. Period.
TrapKernel SM-A700F
Special thanks to:
@g.lewarne for the obvious reason of being awesome and his root method for the s6.
@XperiaNoobie & @nino64 for testing
@Chainfire for SuperSU

Heres the source with it set to permissive if anyone wants to fork it and build a kernel that allows root.

Hey after some research i found out that when your SE is set to permissive you lose the privilege of the private mode as it suggests that your phone isn't safe :/ You can use third-party apps so you can lock your apps though :/

Probably not. I don't own the device and normally don't do things for devices I don't own. I just did this because I hit up a couple devices because I had some free time

[Urgent!] First time rooting, not sure about what software to start off with.

Hey, I'm new to this rooting stuff with Androids (I'm familiar with jailbreaking on iPhones though, so I am aware of the risks) and I'm not exactly sure which software would best fit me. I would like something that could change some of the things that I can't change without rooting with Android 6.0.1 like the lockscreen settings (like being able to access the apps I want WITHOUT having to unlock the phone). I've heard of some rooting systems like Xposed and SuperSU, what's the difference between those two? And to note, I have a Galaxy S6 Edge Sprint variant (SM-G925P), running the latest build of Android 6.0.1. I also have Odin3 10.7 downloaded with the latest Xposed APK downloaded and installed on my phone but not rooted.
Ill keep it short.
SuperSU manages root access requests
Xposed is a framework that able to manipulates system without actually touching the system. framework require root access and modules to.
Its like cydia.
Here is startup things u can do with xposed.

[MOD] XposedWifiFixer - Change WiFi region to US (enable most 5GHz frequencies)

I wrote this for myself but here it is in case anyone is also interested.
Google sets the wifi country code to whatever is in your sim card. If the country does not have a corresponding list of enabled 5GHz frequencies, then a lot of these frequencies get disabled. This mod simply sets the country code to US. There is no GUI or anything, just enable and restart and you're all set. Android marshmallow only. I tested it on my S7 edge and it's working fine.
Enjoy.
Edit: Added OREO 8.1 version. Testing working on Pixel 2 XL.

Enjoy.

Hi!
Are you actively working on this still? and did you get around to testing it on a oneplus of any kind? I got the 5T, this does nothing on it sadly, and i'm desperate for a fix
thanks!

I can't say I'm "working on it still" but whenever I have a need for it, I update it. I actually have the pixel 2 xl running latest oreo 8.1 and needed the added 5 GHz access points at work to have higher speeds (780 MBps beats 54 Mbps any day!)
Works fine here. Just make sure your xposed is working fine and that this module is loaded correctly. Reboot, profit. should work on all 8.1 ROMs given that I'm only modifying a simple framework method which should exist in all variants out there.
Hi,
thanks for the reply!
I have installed the latest Xposed, and your module (downloaded from there, not the file here) & rebooted. nothing happens. I do not see my 5GHZ when it's on the 148 and up band. When I switch it to the lower bands (38 and up) works just fine. this is driving me insane. Any chance you could help me out ?
In another post, someone offered me to replace a file, and that seemed to work for a bit, but now it has also stopped working

Thanks! appreciate any and all help.
Edit: Actually it would help to understand what it is exactly your addon is changing ? since the above file does have something that seems relevant. is this the same value being changed?

Maybe use my file here instead? Not sure what's on the xposed modules repo.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply! I thought I had mentioned I already tried it, did not change anything.
Maybe if you told me which file this is editing and which value is being changed, I might be able to debug and see if it's actually changing the value it needs to.
Works fine on my xiaomi a1 !!! thx so much!!

It would be great if you could specify which version of Android (8.0, 8.1) and which ROM (or stock).
thanks!

Sure, editing method setCountryCode in com.android.server.wifi.WifiServiceImpl
Setting the parameter to US manually.

Cool, thanks!
Just as a follow up..
1. is this com.android.server.wifi.wifiserviceimpl a file (.jar?)or db file?
2. where is it located?
3. does your fix change it every time on reboot? or is it a one time change? (meaning, does the phone update this from the SIM occasionally?)
thanks again!

no man, it's a framework class that xposed can tap into and change the behavior. Take a look at the source code of Android AOSP for that class. it's not a simple file in /system that you modify. It is changed every time this method is invoked, it's how xposed works.
Lol, just goes to show how much I know about how rhis works, which is nothing
Its working with the update to 8.1 btw.
Thanks for all your work and patience!
