Question Force Full screen for apps and games? - Sony Xperia 1 IV

My previous Sony had an option in the Display/Settings for running apps and games to run in full screen.
There is no such option on the Xperia 1 IV. I have several apps and games that are having black bars and not full screen.
What methods are there of forcing apps and games to run full screen???

Immersive mode is broken since Android 11. The only options require root.

It's a shame, I remember with my old Sony Xperia 1 Mark II, there was an option under "display" & then "display apps in full screen, apps that did not display full screen had the option to use full screen as normal.
Also there was an option" double tap to wake" which also appears to be missing in the Xperia IV.

Settings -> Display -> Lock screen preferences -> Tap to show lock screen. See the descriptive text under the option. Doesn't this do that?

You are correct, this option is for the "double tap to wake" option, it's just worded differently than the predecessor, thanks for correcting me.

[Q] Is there a way to disable the secondary lock screen?

Hello,
I'm not sure what the name is for the second lock screen but a lot of times when I try to wake my phone and get to a text message or email or the browser, it wants me to go to a screen where you can probably add some apps but not fully open the phone but I just find that annoying as can be. It has a little plus at the bottom. I NEVER want that I just want to always fully unlock my phone when I swipe the screen.
Is there a way to do that or what am I doing wrong that it brings me to the second lock screen?

Settings > My Devices > Lock Screen
Uncheck "Multiple Widgets"
Also, go into "Lock Screen Widgets" and turn "Favorite apps or Camera" OFF, though the above option should disable this entirely.

How can I enable screen casting on LG styles 3 M400DK

Hi,
"Cast" option is normally available in "Settings > Display > Cast".
You can also use the "Search" feature in settings to find out what you're looking for:
Go to "Settings",
Click on the search button (should be in the upper right corner),
Type in "Cast".
If nothing appears, then your phone doesn't likely support screen casting.

DT2W/S on Pocophone

Hello there,
I recently purchased a Xioami Pocophone F1 after using LG for the past 4 years.
I am so used to double tap to unlock and lock my screen that I find myself constantly doing the same on the Poco.
Is there a way to enable that feature on the Phcophone?
How come LG is the only company that has that feature enabled by default? Is it something on their hardware or is it a part of Android in general?
I find it to be a great feature and personally, I don't like phones with buttons, especially on the right side of the screen.
Thank you,
It´s standard in MIUI 10. You can find this option under Settings -- Display.
If you are on MIUI 9, wait a few days. Xiaomi is rolling out the MIUI 10 stable in waves.

Finally! A contender to LG.
Thank you for letting me know.
I'm on MIUI 9.6.14, and you can enable double tap screen to wake under Settings > Display.

I prefer installing nova launcher and use double tap to lock screen.
to turn off the screen I use the following apps:
for dt2s on home screen - DTS Widget
for using the fingerprint scanner - fingerprint quick action
for status bar - all in one gestures (no longer available in play store, google apk)

How to bypass Lockscreen

Hi all,
I recently purchased a Samsung A21s, running Android 10, for my wife and set it up so that when she pressed the power button to use it it went straight to the home screen. No Lock Screen at all.
She wanted to try the Fingerprint option so I set that up however she did not like it so I deleted her Fingerprint. Now I cannot find out how to bypass the Lock Screen, she how has to swipe to unlock. There is no "None" option either in the Lock Screen Settings, cannot remember if there was originally.
At the moment I press the power button, swipe on the lock screen, and it takes you to the home screen.
It used to:
Press the power button and it takes you to the home screen.
I just cannot figure out what I did initially to bypass the Lock Screen altogether. Can anyone stop me from going mad?
TIA
No ideas anyone?
I would really appreciate any input at all.
Try this go to Settings < General Management < Reset < Reset Accessibility Settings if that doesn’t work choose the first option Reset Settings.
Thanks for the suggestions, however neither solved the issue.
How to change the setting to get to the home screen, without swiping. Go to Settings > Lock screen > Lock screen type, and from the list select None.

Unfortunately there is no None option in the list.
Sorry if you tried that already, then I'd say the phone might need a software update.
If the software is up to date, lack of the "None" option, might have to do with a finance app, such as Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or banking apps. I think they have to have a lock screen, if you have a finance app installed and active, that might be why the option is hidden.
Related to this, I notice there's a toggle setting called Security policy updates. It's in Biometrics and security > Other security settings > Security policy updates. I'm not sure exactly what that does, but I'm assuming limiting options in settings, to comply with app security, might be part of it.

Thanks for your reply. I have no finance or banking apps on the phone so I guess this is not the cause of the missing "None" option. I still think it was related to me enabling fingerprints and then disabling it, though I'm not 100% sure. It is just do annoying. Have also contacted Samsung who "jumped" onto my phone to have a look around and they were unable to find the cause as well.
Settings lock screen then lock screen type and then none it should be there

No I have not. Just don't want to go thru all the setup and installation of apps and settings.

Swipe from bottom gesture is bugged

Is frustrating that every time I made a swipe from the bottom of the screen, there will be an involuntary touch to the app I'm using or with the keyboard space bar/letters.
A small workaround is to use the bottom gesture bar, but other phones this will not be an issue.
It seems to be a normal behaviour from a certain version of OneUI but no one seem to care about it.
Coming from an old OnePlus 5T, I've noticed it from day one on my S21+.
I'm missing something or what?
I'm the only one facing this issue?
Go to Settings > Display > Navigation Bar. Here try to activate Gesture hints; then open more options in "Swipe gestures" and increase Gesture sensibility.
I also found usefull to download "Good Lock" from the Galaxy store. There in Home Up> Task Changer I activated "Allow bottom gestures in full screen mode"; this was the thing that gave me the most headache.

Yes, it seems to help a bit within apps interface but not with keyboard.
Today I've tested my old OP5T and there is a different approach with gesture.
Swiping from bottom is really fluid and no there are no issues with keyboard.
I will try to make a video comparison, because this is the only major issue I've found with this device.

Sorry since I don't have problems with the keyboard I have just realized your problem. To solve it go in Setting > General management >Keyboard list and default: here just switch on "keyboard button on navigation bar" and "Show button hide keyboard". By activating these two options your keyboard is going to be moved up a bit so you can avoid miss press (if you use Samsung keyboard you can also just press the three dots then keyboard size and move the keyboard up).
