If your device is Chinese version, you can lock the bootloader with Chinese rom only.
Use :https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/

Its EAA model but xiaomi.eu and newer than EAA firmware...

bootloader should be unlocked
you are on eu rom, means it's already unlocked
just download you desired stock rom and flash with "mi flash" with all data format

@mong786 why? I wanna to close the bootloader

you can lock bootloader, just by simply selecting "clean all and lock" option while flashing in "mi flashing"
check attachment to see
i am telling you now at the moment your bootloader is unlocked {because you using eu Rom}, it's your choice to lock or unlock it

First, unlock bootloader. Then, you can use miflash to flash stable ROM and relock bootloader. You can use this to download appropriate and official rom.

Revert to Miui 8 from Cm14.1

Hello ppl,
I have unlocked the bootloader of my RN3 snapdragon version officially and i flashed the offical twrp on my phone.
Then i did a complete backup of the rom and then installed CM 14.1 (Santosh's build)
When i installed the rom,it relocked the bootloader and the fastboot mode now shows cyanogen logo instead of the mi logo.
The TWRP is working fine and i tried out both CM13 as well as 14.1.
i was on the miui 8(5.1) build and i tried to restore the EFS file to enable VOLTE on CM14.1 but no VOLTE is working as it was V5.1
I now have to revert back to MIUI8(6.0).How do i proceed?.
*I will flash the global MIUI8 developer rom using the TWRP?
*Restore the backup that i had done earlier with with official TWRP?
*Boot into eld mode(Cyanogen fastboot mode) and then use MiFlash and flash global developer MIUI version.
Please Help me with this.Need to get the VOLTE working fast and get back to MIUI.
First of all let me tell you that volte is broken and fluctuating in miui8 MM builds. Even though there are fixes but then you have to compromise fp scanner. So in my opinion flash xiaomi.eu rom 6.8.11 based on 5.1.1. But as per experience I have seen volte working in santhosh build. Just dont flash any firmware. And to revert back to miui8 LP just wipe partitions and remeber dat official MM roms are encrypted. Dont go there. Happy flash.

Didnt you unlock bootloader? If not then unlock it using mi flash tool, and check out roms from xiaomi.eu site not from miui.com, official site produce ****ty roms. They mess up data partition with encryption. Check out 6.8.11 based on 5.1 where VoLte works fine.

I have locked bootloader. Is it fine if i just flash the zip file using twrp
MiUnlock is not detecting the phone to unlock the bootloader.
Sorry for too many questions.Litte bit new to RN3 .It was easy to flash and do stuff with my old OnePlus One.
::And ill download the stable or weekly
I think you might lose IMEI/EFS if you downgrade from CM 14.1 to lolipop MIUI? Someone more knowledgeable can confirm.

download weekly, miunlock is not detecting? Hmm then may be it is due to windows drivers. If you are using x64 bit OS then you should tweak driver signature enforcement in windows. which twrp u are using? Use a twrp where you can backup efs, modem and other important partitions. alka, zcx are best twrps.

if you use edl then it doesnt matter whether its unlocked or locked. But edl mode needs to wipe everything all data in int storage.
Whats the update? Did it went well? I mean through edl mode using MiFlash.
Hey,
I also have a question. If I officially unlock my bootloader and some how it gets locked again then can I unlock it again officially?
I flash MIUI 8 mm from cm 14.1 , via two booted but mi account verification error . Not go beyond that . What to do ?

Unofficialy unlocked bootloader

What makes the bootloader lock itself when flashing firmware on unofficially unlocked bootloader?
I have found some firmware which remove emmc_appsboot.mbn, but according to other users you need to update that too.
So what I want to know is what happens when I flash a firmware with emmc_appsboot.mbn removed. Will it be the same as when officially unlocked phones flash a firmware with emmc_appsboot.mbn?
Is there any downside to removing emmc_appsboot.mbn?

emmc_appsboot.mbn is the bootloader. If you did not remove that, it will flash a Marshmallow bootloader. The problem is it will relock your bootloader if you're on Lollipop bootloader. Doing the unofficial unlock method means you're on Lollipop bootloader.
Relocking your bootloader while not on MIUI could be a problem so don't flash any firmware with emmc_appsboot.mbn if you've unlocked unofficially. Right now no one knows a method to update to MM bootloader without unlocking officially.
Latest Lineage OS(and those based of of it) needs Marshmallow bootloader to work(otherwise bootloop).
Try official unlock Just wait for one week after applying. Because you will always need the latest firmware to work smoothly on any custom rom . Using patch emmc_appsboot.mbn will keep you stuck at the old miui rom only

You can't check what bootloader you have but if you did the unofficial unlock then you're definitely on LP bootloader.
Firmware is whatever the last MIUI ROM or standalone Firmware you've flashed.
You needed to be on latest MIUI dev to unlock officially.
If you're on Kate though, then doing this doesn't seem to cause problems when flashing the latest LOS. Can't guarantee the same for kenzo though.
How to flash latest miui on UL LP bootloader
I've unlocked my bootloader unofficially and can't flash any new ROM. How can i go back to MIUI to get MM bootloader without any problem of boot loops?

How to return to stock ?

Hi,
I have 2 RN3P, both running a custom rom.
One has an unlocked bootloader and another has a locked bootloader.
I'm looking to sell these phones.
I would like to know how can I return to a COMPLETELY stock rom, meaning NO TWRP, locked BL, etc.
I'd prefer not triggering ARB.
Could anyone please tell me which firmware to flash and which method to us ? TWRP or MiFlash ?
I'm ok with using an older firmware too, I just need to return the phone to factory condition.
Thanks for any help.

What is ARB ?
Download and Flash this fastboot stable rom for kenzo .
For unlocked bootloader u can flash using mi flash and fastboot mode.
For locked bootloader u need to put phone in EDL mode and flash using miflash.

ARB is Anti Rollback Protection bro
this will disable u to dongrade to lower ROM version bro
okay bro?
ARB is not implemented for RN3. So don't worry, just flash latest fastboot ROM from official website (http://en.miui.com/a-234.html) using Mi Flash (clean and lock) and you will be good to go.
I have done it a few times, haven't faced any problem even for a single time

you can try this method :https://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Download global Stable rom( I flashed DEV last month and it worked for me) if you are form India. If miui flash tool doesnt detect your phone in EDL mode, use miflashtool 20160830 / https://androidmtk.com/download-xiaomi-mi-flash-tool
Please use caution and do it at your own risk . I reverted my phone to DEV fastboot ROM & locked bootloader to getaway from ZCX TWRP issues.
My issue is resolved.
I used the oldest rom I could find (marshmallow).
I used MiFlash, fasboot for unlocked bootloader and EDL mode for locked bootloader.
Thanks for the help everyone!

Is downgrade possible?

Hello, I am on rooted 8.11.15 Developer Pie ROM. I want to flash global stable ROM 10.0.6.0 which is based on oreo using MiFlash tool to return it to pure stock condition. My question is is the downgrade possible using the flash tool? From a pie based ROM to an Oreo one?
First,if you have your POCO's bootloader unlocked and not mind the user data lost, its very simple by Fastboot Flash.

Question Installing other MIUI region

Hello, as you may seen the title.
If I have Global Indonesia MIUI, (RKEIDXM) can I install Global MIUI (RKMIXM) and lock bootloader?
Here's the step if you confused what I meant:
1. UBL
2. Flash fastboot Global MIUI ROM (RKEMIXM) via MiFlash with 'clean and lock' option
Thanks!
