Question OnePlus Nord N20 5G discontinued - OnePlus Nord N20 5G

I've been told that the OnePlus Nord N20 5G has been discontinued due to poor sales and is being replaced with the SE variant.
Their website doesn't even mention this phone anymore, and the product page was taken down. I guess there's no hope in getting stock firmware from OnePlus anymore.
The SE variant is basically just the 5G version without 5G and with an ugly teardrop camera design instead of the holepunch like the rest. The N10 5G is not a substitute for the N20 5G, they have many differences despite being similar in branding.

Their selling them on prime early access NOW. They may not be planning on doing much else with the device but they've already produced them by the thousands. There are branded as well as unbranded variants. I think they messed up with the N20 and n200 naming because the n200 literally sounds like it would be the better phone but none intuitively it is a much lesser device so I think they sort of shot their self in the foot with that. But that being said, the SE is a terrible device compared to it's predecessor. It's literally not even in the same league. I would say that maybe the SE is a expensive high , low tier device looking at specs and what I've heard from others

I have zero complaints about the N20 other than the fact that they seem to have rushed it out and then back stepped. There are plenty of things they could be doing to give the user better experience with these devices but they seem to have made their little bit of money and ran moving on to other projects and it feels like they sort of just forgot about their customers. But I'm sure there will be more devs to come with the skill to give the community lots of cool mods and customizations maybe even just to spite the fact that one plus seems to have forgotten about us LOL. But I'm not angry there is really nothing I can complain about on this phone maybe they just feel like they got it right the first time.

Also SE is NOT anything like the 5g version. They went with worse hardware, lower performance CPU, no 5g etc... Completely different device.
If you can snag the OnePlus N20 5G at a good price then grab one while you can, assuming the OP is right about discontinuation. Not sure why they decided to go with a lower spec device to replace this one but maybe people just weren't ready for the price range that they listed it as. I believe mine were $280 when I got mine. Lots of people either want a cheap device or a flagship. I think you get the best of both worlds with the N20 5G

It's still on one plus website I just looked

Nevermind I'm in America we sell the n20 but not the se

[Q] HD2 or MT4G?

So as many of you know I have recently lost my beloved HD2. Now I am shopping for new device and narrowed it down to few devices, but believe it or not on top of the list its still HD2. So specify which you would pick and why as it would be very helpful to me.
Only reason I'd get the HD2 over the others is its hackability. If you just want an Android device and don't want to multiboot I'd personally get the G2 because I like hardware keyboards but the MT4g is better if you don't care about that.
LOL the customizability is the only reason I was even considering this device as I haven't seen anything like it. This device has access to more platform ATM then any other device. So I was super pissed when I lost it. I mean I paid $750 for the Leo1024 unlocked version and got it on TMobile months before it was released to the general public. But at this point I am not welling to pay $300 for this phone when its 1 year old, thats just crazy. I went for the G2 also but later moved to MT4G as its going for $300 also and its better device.

MT4G 7/8

MT4G vs Desire HD (WON)
Well, after comparing many phones to MT4G in many areas like spec, benchmark, IRL usability (browser, map, cam, ect). This is the overall result I got in my opinion so I am not trying to be biased here as I myself voted for HD2. But the only device that did beat MT4G in my opinion was Desire HD which is what I wanted only if they supported 3G in USA, hell IDK why HTC make stupid decisions. I know ill be super pissed of if they realse DHD in USA with US model just like they did with HD2.
Looks like I have made my decision as I already placed order for MT4G, in the end I was not welling to pay $300 for old device top of that idiots are selling it claiming "like new" lol we all know its used, so let them have their cake and eat it also. I now hope that MT4G community is also rich as ours and hope it grows in development also or ill be super pissed as HD2 hackablity is unbeaten.

Are you satisfied with your Z Ultra?

I'd really like to have one, but there are a couple of issues: The screen...if I bought a used one, for example, can I get the warranty honored? Secondly, the SOD: Has it been solved?

I'm very happy with my two (one as a incar GPS/test box). Good luck on warranty on a used one, Sony here in NZ didn't want to know for my second one (I brought it broken), although they are a gray import here.
The sleep of death was solved a long time ago on one of the 4.2 updates. There is 4.4.4 kicking around noe.
Yes, i am very satisfied with Z Ultra. Nope the chances for me to go back to small screen is very much gone... Unless no Z2 Ultra in the future.
But as of now, Z Ultra is really great. never got satisfied more than this. Battery Life might need to be better but 5 hour real time screen time average is very respectable for such screen size and power engine
Short answer: Yes. Very. I'll probably stick with it for another year (have had mine for around 10 months now).
horribly glitchy, unpredictable, can't depend on it, countless small little annoyances everywhere
but every android phone is like that... at least this one has a huge screen and is rather fast so yeah i guess

YES, I AM
Except when I'm learning now how to create a custom recovery...
And I don't understand anything, I locked back my bootloader... Still rooted on stock .108
I'm trying to create a website dedicated for this C6833
To avoid any confusion between the Z1 and our Z Ultra
(even if they are pretty close the same)
(I'm recreating a new account on XDA because I forgot my old one, and those 10 posts minimum gets me very angry)
I am very happy with my C6802 almost 11 months after getting it (bought it early August last year). It is still unsurpassed and despite about three weeks before root was possible (vRoot unfortunately), the arrival of GPe got things going.
It is the best phablet made to this date; I don't consider any other device close beside the Oppo Find 7. The only thing I am worried about is the lack of any successor rumor or even information about upcoming devices in the same category. The only competitors I know about right now is the Oppo N1 and Huawei Ascend Mate 2, both with weaker hardware.
My requirements for a new device is Snapdragon 810/815, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 6.5-7 inch screen, keyboard cover as an option, camera not important (have the QX10 for that), microSDXC slot and... either Google vanilla/Android Silver or CM-based. Sony implementation is OK.
I guess next year will bring those things to the table but it would be great with some decent phablets this fall since it would indicate that the segment is alive and well. Right now, the Ultra is in a class of its own and any other device means compromising on the core: a solution that is a true tablet replacement with great software.
Edit: The GPe ROM paired with Xposed Framework and optimized Dalvik libraries (compensating for the ART/Xposed issue) make the Ultra a completely superior phablet. I have tried the Note 3 (which is hyped as being such a great device) several times and it is far, far behind the Ultra in every aspect besides the camera. The best features of it such as multiwindow is available on the Ultra through Xposed and it works great.

ZTE accuses Huawei’s Nexus 6P of ripping off its Athena phone

The latest batch of Nexus smartphones are certainly look quite a bit different to last year’s model. But they’re apparently not unique enough for ZTE, which has accused Huawei of copying the design of its Athena handset when it came up with the Nexus 6P.
Taking to the Chinese social network Weibo, ZTE’s marketing director Lu Qian Hao suggests that the Nexus P6 pays a heavy tribute to the ‘elegant’ and ‘stunning’ ZTE Athena, also known as the Grand S. The message was directed at Huawei’s Yu Chengdong.
I don’t think Google translate is working too well though, as there’s also something about Huawei having a sex change operation thrown in there too? Either way, he doesn’t seem to have taken the 6P’s launch too well.
Comparing the two side by side, there is certainly a similarity between the ZTE Athena and the Nexus 6P when you look at the black bar across the back. Then again, the Athena is a design from back in early 2013 and ZTE hasn’t seemed too bothered about reviving the look for any of its recent models. The Nokia 808 PureView also springs to mind.
Huawei and ZTE have a long running rivalry. The two Chinese companies compete not only in the smartphone market but also in the international telecommunication equipment field too. However, this wouldn’t be the first time that Huawei has been accused of “paying tribute” to other smartphone designs with its products, so perhaps ZTE has a point?
What do you think about the resemblance?

Who cares..
Hmmmm ....... Smart phones look similar ..... Imagine that
That zte also looks like a Motorola atrix HD. At least a little bit. Not sure if that phone came out in 2012 or 2013.

Those who care please speak up...

Hmm, the major similarity is that big black bar aaaaand that's it. The bar isn't even the same size. That bar also isn't unique to ZTE, as mentioned by others.
As a result, I give exactly 0 flips about this.

got the phone since 1 week, ask me anything

Hi guys
If you have questions about the phone, just ask
I must say, this is one of the best phones I had. I'm really happy with it. My only criteria were:
- Stock Android
- 71-72mm max. width
- Good camera
- Bonus: DT2W and GCam Mods without rooting
It has all of it, in addition to an awesome display and build quality, and just fits perfect in one hand.
I tried Nokia 7 Plus before, but it was too big for me. My previous phones were: HTC U11 Life, Xiaomi Mi A1, OnePlus 3, Nexus 5, iPhone 6.

One question - does it have a LED notification light?
@iCstyle: thank you.
No it doesn't have LED notification, like every other Nokia phone.
do you have the possibility to test 4g+ ?
there is an option to hide notch?
thanks
I didn't yet see a 4G+ icon, but 4G works good, also VoLTE.
No option to hide a notch, it should come with Pie though. But Nacho Notch works pretty good.
Hi, thinking of buying this device is it worth it, I'm stuck on this or sammy A7 honor play around 300 Mark, what's future development looking likely etc bootloader unlock will eventually arrive? Thanks

How do you enable hdr10 playback in youtube app? I can only see normal quality settings with no hdr.
I want the steel 64gb version. I had the 6.1 for a day and my big problem with that phone was the bluetooth stuttered when connected to a Cardo Packtalk Bold. No issues with BT on my QC35 headphones though. The Cardo was a deal breaker though. I'll wait until a local shop gets one in and go play with the bluetooth with the helmet on my head. How has the battery life been? Got any camera samples?

Question Oneplus 9R is Still worth it this 2022?

I would like to ask if Oneplus 9r is still worth it to buy this 2022?
I've seen alot of negative comments about the updates of oneplus and the news that it will be discontinued?
ColorOS for OnePlus's update progress is a bit slow...OOS 12 RIP(for it is based on Color instead of OOS)...
However it runs smoother if you use a custom ROM.
was the update for 9r stable or not? cuz i'm planning to buy to this phone, my only concern is that the update if it is stable or not

If you still think so, I suggest you buy OnePlus 9RT.
because 9R and 8T are actually similar, and even the firmware is common.
Wait for 9RT

How to go back to coloros? Like u got color os msm tool for 9r?
I have a 9R, it's a superb phone. I have absolutely no issues with it. Like it's totally super great. Not trying to be sarcastic. Only one downside - the phone can't go SUPER loud call volume. But unfortunately this plagues the 9 Pro as well - and the 8T which is the same internals as the 9R minus the SOC.
And for some reason the call volume thing only happened to like one-two people. I bought a 9 Pro to alleviate the problem and guess what? Still can't hear crap. OnePlus phones are just generally more quiet than a Pixel 4a or a like a Samsung flagship.
But yeah, if I were to buy a Samsung, I'd spend like 1500$ on the phone, and the updates would slow it down to a crawl within a few months. I've had like Note 4, Note 9, Note 10+ and they all been the same.
So yeah. Good phone.
- Great GPS signal
- Great sound
- Great performance, no overheating/heat problems
- Battery has been solid, though, 1 day with heavy use (well you can buy a 6000-7000mAh "phone" with 250g weight if you want more lol)
I've been also using the ColorOS on my 9 Pro for a while now. Honestly, it's not so bad. Been a bit rough on the edges at start but you can live with it and updates will fix these minor problems.
