Just posting here to show appreciation for crDroid which is my rom of choice for many devices I own and to you who ported it to good old cedric.
It passes safetynet by default (without magisk installed, with it one should be able to still pass it by using magisk hide) and while being slower than stock Oreo (on the 2Gb ram version), it is the fastest 9+ rom I've tested.

This is the best ROM i have tested for my old cedric. Really customizable, faster no bugs (cam and GPS) and stable. Tks so much!

arm or arm64?, Also, can I flash nikgapps, or only works with this Gapps?

It is arm64 just like official lineage. You can use the vanilla build and flash your own gapps, but I recommend to just use the gapps build that I provide.

Note#1: Official nightlies have the most current vendor, radio, and bootloader img's built-in, so no need to worry about flashing those anymore.
Note#2: When using twrp it will ask if you want to install the twrp app. Make sure you tap "DO NOT INSTALL".
Note#3: Root is not included in official lineage roms. If you want root you can flash the arm64 su addon here. It will be disabled by default. You can enable it in developer options.
1. boot into twrp and select wipe, then swipe to factory reset. NOTE: If updating from a previous official rom (15.1/16.0), skip this wipe step.
2. flash rom zip.
3. flash twrp zip.
4. (optional) if you want to install gapps zip or su addon zip, in twrp main menu select reboot, then select recovery, then install those zips.
Reboot & enjoy.

correct. you no longer have to on 15.1 either (as indicated in my changelog here).
i finally figured out a way to fix the problem that google's theme app was causing that was in that overlay folder.
Let the Rom development begin!
Booted up all fine on my end. One thing I noticed is that the stock browser is missing though

Grab our recovery from the peripherals section and install it.

Through Fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Install the ROM and then wipe your internal data partition.
Through TWRP Recovery:

Through Fastboot:
Code:

Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done, I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.

Great rom
Installed this rom as for what ever reason i could not go back to stock oreo as i wanted to for a change. No issues over instalation or anything but it needs kernel work as there is battery drain present. I just need to find a gcam mod that works and thats about it. Installed the nfs mod to see how the battery life will improve. 3h or less of sot is not gona cut it for me so will see what happens.
Hey,
So I've managed to add Over The Air Updates support to this. You no longer have to download and flash it manually. The updater takes care of it. But (here comes the problem) for some reason the Updater doesn't show up in settings (I'm looking into it). I suggest downloading an activity launcher and creating a shortcut to the updater on to your home screen. The name of the app is 'Updater', package name is 'org.xmxrtyx.updater'. I'm also compiling a GAPPS variant for people who want inbuilt gapps. Both have different channels for OTA Updates. You can always check out my sourceforge for the zips if you wanna flash it manually.

If gesture navigation is used, I cannot install apps from the Play Store. I get "Your device is not compatible with this item.". If I set it back to the traditional 3-button navigation, then I can install apps.
PS: Uh... I don't know. Now the message does not appear and I can install the apps, even though I have installed gesture navigation... So, I am not sure why it happened.

Mine does works flawless. check *#*#4636#*#* and check if supported
Btw measured some drain and not too bad at all
Btw, using magisk20.4 and cts passes with MHPC, using poco f2 pro (global) FP and force basic key attestation (will be fixed in next build probably)
Hope to work some things out today regarding FOD, smartcharging, faceunlock,..
no problems. I was experiencing a bootloop but after i used the 'format' function on TWRP and reinstalled it, everything went smoothly.
Thanks soo much for the ROM!

For anyone curious here's my quick look over the ROM.
I had surya on latest global 12.0.3. I've used the OpenGapps nano.
The installation went quick and smooth. I haven't restored my google account so everything was fresh. During the setup screen was tearing sometimes.
Fingerprint works very well and unlocks are quick. Haptic feedback is ok. Double tap to wake works ok. There is 17.5GB used after the first boot. Selinux is disabled. There are some quick settings tiles to choose from.
In battery settings there are thermal profiles. Neat!

There are color profiles to choose (+ live display on another screen).
https://i.imgur.com/X1OIeM6.png
There is refresh rate selection.

And a Gcam one:

Power menu customization missing. "Dirac sound enhancer" present in Sound system settings menu doesn't open. No call recording ootb.
Check out the rest on a few more screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/5c9fkNP
Overall feels very solid.
Oh, Google Maps keep crashing: https://i.imgur.com/3zSxSIg.png

Hello,
Thank you for this great work!
v7.11 version (2021-10-31) works quite well.
2 problems from my side:
#1. Google backup restore doesn't work: It restore all apps, but no settings, wallpapers, registered WiFi networks, etc. Quite annoying for me
#2. I miss the option "direct unlock" "Skip the swipe to unlock screen and immediately begin key entry"

#1 Fixed by using FlameGApps-11.0-basic-arm64-20211107 instead of OpenGapps or BitGapps
Thank you vytska69 for the help via telegram!
#2 Is missing from CrDroid 7.11 sources. It is yet available in LOS sources I think.
I have some issues with the latest version:
The camera only displays garbage image.
There is some flickerings here and there when using the app drawer
It's not possible anymore to test the device with Geekbench, it crashes near the end.
Since I'm no expert on this, I can't affirm if this is my device becoming faulty or is some issue with the GPU/CPU drivers, but it only started at the latest version.

This is a great rom, and is very smooth too. I noticed that WIFI tethering does not work. It connects to a network provided by another device but does not actually have any internet access. IT works fine when connecting to another devices network using bluetooth tethering.
