In my Nokia 1 the adaptive brightness works well with Android 8.1, and doesn't work at all with Android 9 and 10. Has anybody a solution?
I think that is a common problem. Doesn't get good up to A11/LOS18, after that I am not sure yet...

I have installed Android Oreo update from an FTF file. I have read somewhere that this update comes with Ambient Display feature but it seems that it is not present in my phone. Could anyone tell me where to find it?

Ambient display is not enabled on our X. I tried it using overlay, but the touchscreen does not work after the screen lights up. I guess this is something that should be fixed in kernel :/
Hello guys, i just wanna ask you about the dimming issue. i have already turned my auto brigness / adaptive brightness off. however when i open some apps, like PUBG Mobile (gaming) the brigtness is dimming after a few minutes. after i read some articles, i know its a bug from emui itself. is there any solution here. thanks before and sorry for my bad english.

I'm used to automatic brightness feature from my old samsung phone and it worked sufficiently well.
On MIUI 9.6.14 it really blows. When I'm in a dark room, the brightness doesn't lower itself. When I'm in sunlight, the brightness doesn't go to full.
Any ideas?

i'm not on miui 9.6.xx anymore since i moved to miui 10 8.9.20, but i didn't have any problem with autobrightness. the only complaint is that the auto set is a little too dark in my opinion.
Yeah, it's too dark for me as well. Is it the same on MIUI 10?

coming from a Samsung device where you could easily adjust the brightness of the integrated flashlight by longpressing the according flashlight-button, I wonder why this is not possible on the Mi Note 10 lite, or am I missing how to do it correctly. Is it really not possible to adjust the brightness of the flashlight? Are there any Xiaomi devices available at all that support this very basic feature?
i noticed that in the orange fox recovery it has a flashlight thats SUPER bright, i wish i can get miui that bright.

Have been investigating some sources of eye strain and headaches with the PIxel 6, none of the PWM apps work for me, but it's been suggested that temporal dithering employed by the device might be at least a part of the problem.
Does anyone know if it's possible to turn this off in software? if rooted possibly?
It certainly seems that some older ROM toolkits had the ability, but they've long gone.

I would like to see some solution for Pixel's 6 PWM as well.
I have also tried multiple apps. They help a little, but the issue with Pixel 6 is that it flickers even on 100% brightness.
I do wonder if it it even remotely possible to force the device to DC dimming or there are HW barriers.
