Question Is there a way to Change Bands to a specific Band with BandMode? Without Root? - OnePlus 10T 5G

Anyway without Root. I want to pick band N77 specifically.

I unlocked more LTE bands on VS985

I unlocked some others LTE bands on VS985, I tried other tips from Sony Xperia forum with no success and now just with hiddenmenu it work, for that:
1. Download Shortcut Master (lite) from play store
2. Top right -> App Explorer ->Verizon Hidden Menu
3. go to -> LTEBandSelection tap and select Launch
4. Now choose all Bands and Save and reboot
Need ROOT
That's all
This sounds cool in theory, but I'm skeptical. Not every VZW LTE tower uses every band. Different locations may even require specific bands. I'm not sure of the implementation details but our modems negotiate connections with towers, and this includes which band and channel within the band to use. If you enable all bands all the time, you're making your phone scan more frequencies, which takes more time and therefore increases battery usage.

No, not all bands, only 2 bands, BANDS 3/7 which it's the most used in europe
Do you get signals on these bands? Could just have software support because most of the software is shared between versions, but not have hardware support at all.

Yes I have 4g now, and in France most used band is 3 (1800mhz) and I get it
Just wanted to say thanks for this
Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Either lollipop changed or something else changed. The app crashes on the App Explorer function
Anyone know what stock bands were set at? I forgot to look before I checked them all. vs985 here. Thx

Hello.
without ROOT, impossible to use more LTE band?
I am currently using VS985 in Korea(South) with 3G mode only because of Korean SIM.
Really want to use LTE in here.
Thanks.

No for this app you need root. You should just root. Its very easy and will allow you to activate the other bands.
This thread/mod isn't getting much play it seems. Is there really any benefit from this in the US? Or will it drain battery looking for the other bands?
Works good
Thank you so much for sharing :good:
I am using vs985 verizon in pakistan. Service provider is warid. Coustomer service told me that they're offering 4g on band 3, 1800mhz
So i unlocked band 3 by using this method. works like a charm
Thanks again
Good looks on this! I did it for the hell of it. Might as well have all 4 bands selected

Very good question...!!
Here is a link to LTE bands by country/region if anyone needs/wants it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
It's wikipedia though, so it may not be 100% accurate.
Ok but what bands does this actually unlocked vs those already in us for a specific region...
I ask this b/c in my limited theory, one could unlock said bands and theoretically use the phone on diff bands/carriers without having to go thru the hassle of 'begging' for a carrier unlock, correct? Essentially you could create your own carrier unlocked and/or international compatible G3... But I may be completely ass backwards wrong.... lol

The vs985 is already carrier unlocked, but I get what you're asking. And I think that, yeah, if you know the bands in the country/region you're in you can unlock those bands to get 4g working there. Post #14 is a good example of that. I believe bands 3 and 7 are used for global lte, which would be why his/her carrier told him to use band 3 for lte in Pakistan.

Nexus 9 lte band enable

I have an international version on the 9 and I was wondering if it's possible to enable any of the US bands. Did some searching and I didn't find anything. I was looking for something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
I don't know if the modem in the US and international version are actually different or if they just artificially disable bands for specific markets. Can't find any info about the actual modem hardware. Thanks.
Get a dialler app from the market like True Dialler. Then dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information, and switch to USA band from the overflow menu on the top-right corner.
Thanks, I thought it would be disabled at a firmware level more than that. I'll give it a shot in a few days and report back.
put my verizon sim in, ran 4636 menu, but I don't see an option to enable the specific bands. Just modes like cdma, gsm and lte. Do I need root or something else?
Are you getting LTE speeds in USA? And is this a permanent solution, even after factory reset?
I'm not aware there is a solution here. Yes my verizon sim is working and yes I get LTE on band 4, but my goal is to be able to use band 13 and I'm not sure that that is unlocked.
I got into that settings page but didnt see any of that menu for usa or whatever... Tablet works fine with my tmobile sim.
might work fine on band 3/4 but what about band 13?

LTE band unlock -- Never work

Hi forks,
I want to create a new thread because there are too many misleading information about this topic. Band unlocking does not work. I'm here in the US for a month and after trying to modify #6828 value LTE will not show up in my phone (enable band 2). Even unlock bootloader, install LineageOS but it will never work.
That's it. Mi5 will never work in the US with LTE.
Who cares. Why do you need 4g on a phone anyway?

You are correct, I followed the articles to unlock bands. It showed me all the LTE bands unlocked however it never connected on those bands even the mobile company support those bands.
You can not connect to any LTE band other than came with xiaomi mi5 inbuilt.
U can Unlock
I think you can unlock the band. I am from India. I brought Mi5 from china. Band 3,5,40 are the bands in India. There is band 5 was missing in my Mi5. I unlocked band 5 through nvram value edit method
If you read the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/progress-trying-to-unlock-bands-t3337476 carefully, you will find that the method does work but only for some bands. Specifically, while the Mi5 comes with bands 1, 3, 7, 38-41 working, with the method bands 5 and 8 can also be made to work.
hey iam also purchase the same mi5 64 from china after that i notice the lte band 5 is not working cause iam from rural area here is only band 5 work as well. i rooted the phone and after that try the nvram values but with no signal plz tell me the detail method how to unlock the lte band no 5 in mi5 phone.

carrier aggregation?

So I want to use carrier aggregation on this phone, but I'm not sure if it's supported. Does it work? I guess it's possible to modify the modem file to enable it although I'm not a coder, a device don't know much about coding. So can anyone figure out if the phone will supports carrier aggregation or not?

Which variant are you using? Qualcomm or MediaTek?
LTE CAT 4 and beyond is capable of carrier aggregation
It's the snapdragon variant. I don't want 2x10MHz CA because my carrier supports 20MHz on band 40 2300MHz
I wish this phone supported 2x20MHz CA on the download

LG V60 Variants and their corresponding 3g/4g/5g bands

Do the various V60 variants have specific corresponding bands? If so, are they software locked or hard implemented? Is there a "best" version with "most" bands available?
Is the "best" version the EU version? (v600ea)
Thanks in advance! (Long time LG user, can't live without the DAC)
Yeah, I'd like to know this too. Since bootloader access and root are available now, is there any way to enable "all bands" for any sim, or something to that extent?
