Question smart lock not working - Asus Zenfone 9

I have a Galaxy watch 4 on as a trusted device so that when it is connected to the smartphone it does not ask for the unlock code. But half the time when I put it to sleep with the power button, when I pick it up again it asks me for the code again. I have already verified that the watch has not been disconnected at any time and 4 hours have not passed.

Fingerprint/pattern always required even when smart unlock activated

I have smart unlock set for bluetooth, wifi and trusted places. Even when I'm connected to a trusted wifi network, bluetooth device or in a trusted place, the screen always stays locked and requires a fingerprint or swipe pattern to unlock it. What gives? Ideally, fingerprint unlock would only be required when smart unlock is not active.
I've noticed that the smart unlock appears to require that you are connected and unlocked before the smart unlock actually smart unlocks.
That sounds confusing so I will say if you phone is locked and you connect to a device that has already been set up for smart unlock the device doesn't appear to respect that until you have unlocked it at least once while that device is connected.
Also if the smart unlock device disconnects and reconnects while locked you have to unlock.
Kind of screwy but smart unlock appeared to work this way on my previous phone (Note 4).
I know after 4 hours of no use Smart Lock will require a unlock. Yesterday it was not staying unlocked and I reset my location unlock and it was good. I've only set it for location at home.
So this all happening within minutes of unlocking the device and staying in the same location/connected to the same wifi network. I have repeatedly needed to unlock via fingerprint/pattern in order to access my home screen after double tapping to turn on the screen.

Bypass the activation screen on the gear FIT without a phone

It sounds stupid but this happened one time on my gear fit, just was connected to my PC with the ODIN program open doing nothing, and I was on my phone trying to install the gfm (because I can't pair my note 5 with the gear fit), and suddenly I saw something on the watch's screen and I couldn't believe I was on the menu, I wanted to active the bluetooth and make it visible but it wasn't responding the visible option so that's why I had to restared, so now I'm back again in the activation screen :crying:
I have 1 week trying to figure it out what could I did, but I give up. Someone can help me?

Fingerprint wake issue

Hello,
3 days ago I bought this Mi Note 3 32GB, it was on display so no accounts were added or anything like that...... I got a discount just because the phone was on display and the shop sold it to me as used.....
In the shop I added my fingerprint just to test it and the phone woke up without pressing any buttons....
Now the problem is that when I got home, I performed and factory reset and after I added all my accounts and apps.
Now I can't get the Mi Note 3 to wake up with the fingerprint..... I must press the power button and then unlock it with my fingerprint or with pin.....
I'm seeing all these reviews on YouTube and all are unlocking the phone without pressing any buttons.
I've deleted and added again my fingerprint but it is still not working.
Please help.... What should I do?

Try to reflash the rom with miflash (or via edl mode). This seems like a software issue.
Sent from Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
Is there any tutorial on how to reflash ? It's my first xiaomi device and I have experience with miflash....

Check out this tutorial on miui forum

1. Perhaps you should try disabling google smartlock (not sure where it is, maybe lockscreen or security or privacy, i'm not using MIUI currently). 2. Next, try to NOT use any lockscreen apps. Some lock screen apps use Secure Lock when u turn off the screen, which means, no matter what, it will need u to insert pin/pattern/password.
Can I flash the official rom without having it unlocked?

did you get a fix for this issue? I am also facing the same problem for the last few months.
Also have same issue o note 3 pro from gearbest
I am having the same issue on my Xiaomi note 4x, it needs two taps on the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone, how can I unlock it with one tap
I sometimes have this issue when the phone would not unlock after placing the finger on the sensor. This is observed increasingly day after day. However, this usually tends to happen if your finger tip that you use to unlock is slightly moist. For example, if I am in an air conditioned car and then after a few minutes, try to unlock the phone, it never worked for me. The sensor tends to give up even with the slightest moisture.
I also observed that when this happens, I unlock with my password and then immediately remove the registered finger print and register a new one and then it works.
I should also mention that at times, after placing the finger tip on the sensor, the phone unlocks but after a couple of seconds (almost 3 secs).
To be very frank, I was having no issues with the MIUI version 7 (the version that I got my phone with). This and other battery drain issues never happened in that version. Was at some point thinking of rolling back to version 7.
Im having the same problem as thread strater. I have to disable my app lock feature for it to work.
If you do not want to disable app lock. You must not sleep your phone with the locked app as the active app.
For insstance, if i activated app lock on whatsapp, on not on chrome. When the device sleeps with whatsapp as active app, then you cant wake and unlock the phone outright using fingerprint..
but if chrome is the active app (whatsapp in background or not turned on), then the phone will be able to be awoken and unlock by finger...
This is clearly a bug. Btw im on 8.5.2.0(stable)

Help With AT&T Galaxy S9+ (SM-G965U)

I was JUST trying to manually flash android 9 to my AT&T s9+. I bought it used, so I do not have access to the original Samsung USB (figured that was worth mentioning upfront).
After doing some research online, I found a site called firmware.science that offered the manual update files I was looking for... or so I thought. I followed the directions and flashed this firmware (G965USQU3ZRJ9), which DID give me Android 9, but it gave me a few problems...
The phone vibrates once right after screen off - I cannot find a way to turn this off.
I cannot turn the screen immediately back on after turning the screen off - For some reason, the power button stops responding after screen off for about 5 seconds. Then, I can turn the screen on again.
The phone vibrates 3 times about 3 or 4 seconds after screen off - Oddly, it is after these vibrations that the power button starts working again and I can turn the screen back on.
The phone ignores the S-View Cover - The phone just goes right to the lock screen instead of the always on display when the S-View Cover is closed.
Whenever I factory reset it, I constantly (every few seconds) get nagged by the "reminder" app crashing. This happens until I disable it.
I constantly get security alerts about com.samsung.lool and com.google.android.gms.unstable (I can't remember exactly what the packages were): "Security Notice - This Pop-up is only for Develop Phase (noship). Please do the following to fix permission denial. (QA) please attach Log(*#9900#) and screenshot(Module Info) (PL) Please assign PLM to module TG.
I cannot update the Google app from the playstore
I would like to get from this to a stable android 9 firmware. Even if that involves going back to android 8.

According to ATT's website, the Android Pie update for their S9+ was G965USQU3CSAB. The firmware number you downloaded does not match the Pie firmwares that ATT has on their website.

Question Lock screen asks for pin

Hi,
I am using fingerprint sensor and smart unlock but several times a day and every morning the phone is manually locked and I have to enter my pin again. Is there a setting I am missing here?
same here. also it keeps asking pin through the day!
also I'd appreciate if I won't need to confirm pin once is entered correctly (just numbers then unlock instantly)

Is it that your phone is rebooting? There have been people reporting random reboots with their devices ..

Thats true, the extra confirming is annoying as hell...I think smart lock introduced this issue, so I will try to turn it off for now...

I have not noticed any reboots yet but I dont think that the problem. I still see notifications on the lock screen. I believe that would not be the case if the phone rebooted.

Smart lock relocks after 4 hours of inactivity and apparently defaults to PIN or Pattern, not FP.

That explains it, but it is not smart at all :-/

Doesn't seem to matter whether it's active or inactive. It seems to re-lock and require a PIN every 4 hours.
Extremely annoying. SmartLock on my Samsung phone didn't behave like that.
Disabling smart lock fixed it for me, make sure are smart lock triggers are gone

So now it is always locked and the FP is the default? I like having it unlocked at Trusted Places for 4 hours better.

I might just try this. I used smartlock on my Galaxy s20 FE because the fingerprint sensor was way down at the bottom and was difficult to reach, so I would just press the power button and swipe up on the screen.
However, I discovered with the Pixel 6, that when it's smart locked, if you just touch the fingerprint sensor icon, it turns on the screen and opens the phone. (without it actually triggering the fingerprint sensor) No pressing the power button or swiping required.
So I've started getting into the habit of just pressing the fingerprint icon anyway, even when it's unlocked with smartlock. So, as long as the fingerprint sensor is reliable enough, I don't really need the smart lock. I would be doing the same motion to unlock it with the fingerprint. (Although it will be a little slower and possibly a bit more unreliable)
Well, I don't think it's smartlock related. I turned off smartlock a half hour ago and used the fingerprint sensor to unlock it several times since then, and then a couple of minutes ago, it forced me to enter the PIN. Almost exactly 4 hours after the last time I had to enter a PIN.
I was wondering exactly the same... it's a weird behavior.
I think it may be a 'feature'. A fingerprint is considered somewhat less secure by Google. Ironic, given on a P6 it seems to lock folk out a lot of the time!
Understand fingerprint security - Pixel Phone Help
Your fingerprint data is stored securely and never leaves your Pixel device or Nexus phone. Your fingerprint data isn't shared with Google or any apps on your device. Apps are notified only wheth

As you say, annoying though.

Did you reboot the phone after changing the smartlock setting? Perhaps the phone has held onto that setting in memory.
i am having the same nightmare here. Considering i am wearing gloves most of the time, i need to usesmart unlock. but then every few hours i need to type pin, plus i need to press entre. it really breaks flow here

Smart lock resets every four hours, which requires you to enter your PIN to unlock for another four hours.
Confirming a pin makes it more secure, as now the number of digits in your pin is also hidden. In theory, this would make a 4 digit as secure a as 10 digit one as a potential thief would not know which to try.
