Accessories Caseborne S23 Ultra Rugged Case - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

I have the S23 Ultra Rugged case in from Caseborne. Figured I'd share some pics/thoughts for anyone looking for a rugged case. This one: https://www.amazon.com/CaseBorne-ArmadilloTek-Protection-Multi-Layer-Screenless/dp/B0BP1WL6LG
Sharing pics I took of it next to my S22 Ultra Case. The S22 Ultra case is the one with the P shaped camera cutout and the s23 Ultra case has the rectangular cutout. I like the feel a bit more than the S22 Ultra version. They made some good improvements. I like how they tapered the backside more so the case isn't digging into your hand at all. Also like the thicker bumper areas on all 4 corners. Looks to be spaced well for a screen protector just like my S22 Ultra case was. The pen hole is large, so no problems getting that out. The S23 pen is more square on the end vs the S22 ultras being round/oval.
I noticed the 6 little pads on the back aren't on the s23 Ultra version but it grips no different to the table, so no loss there.
The kickstand does seem to hold it portrait or landscape despite saying its for landscape.
Ask away if you have any questions.

I have the same case for my S22U, which is a great case. I ran into a problem with the case though which forced me to stop using it. The kickstand on the back of the case has a steel hinge pin at its top which is right where a wireless charger needs to be during use. This metal pin interferes with the charging process causing wireless charging to fail. Does the S23U case also have a steel pin in the same location? Probably, a non magnetic pin, made out of stainless steel would solve the problem.

[Review] Noreve Sony Xperia Tablet Z Tradition leather case

I bought the Noreve leather case for the Tablet Z about a month ago, due to the lack of availability of the official Sony case. I did a small review of it on a Dutch forum before, and I will post the English version of it here (click on the pictures to enlarge):
I have ordered the Noreve Sony Xperia Tablet Z leather case on the 8th of July. It's shipped the next day, and in less than 24 hours, my case has traveled from Marseille to the Netherlands. After opening the DHL shipping bag, you directly get the feeling that you have a quality product in your hands.
After opening the box, the dustbag appears. The case is in here to protect it during travel or storage against damage.
Once you remove the case from the dustbag, the smell of leather dominates instantly. On the front side of the case, the Noreve logo can be seen. Under the piece of leather, a soft material has been applied. This gives the front side a nice soft touch. Unfortunatly, there's no magnet in the case, so the screen does not turn on/off automatically.
On the rear side, the text "NOREVE SAINT-TROPEZ" can be seen. The soft material is not applied on the rear side. Instead, a hard material is used to improve the ruggedness of the case. There's an opening for the camera.
In the inside of the case, a layer of leather with the Noreve pattern is applied. The edge of the case does not cover the screen borders, so the screen can still be easily used in the corners.
You can tilt the case in 4 different angles for use on table.
Of course the case can also be used "flat".
Everything can be reached at the sides, however the power button has become a little harder to press. The dock connector can also be reached. Unfortunately, I can't test if this case is compatible with the dock, because I don't own it. But you can fold the rear side of the case backwards, so I'm pretty sure it can be used with the dock.
Unfortunately, the USB port cannot be reached when the case is closed. This is also the case with the Micro SD/SIM slot. But this should not be a big problem because they don't need to be changed constantly.
The case closes with a handy clip. Because of this, you can always be assured the screen is protected during transport.
This case costs €84,99 on Noreve's website. With the coupon code "mobigeeks" (without quotes) this becomes €76,49 including shipping, just a little cheaper then the official Sony case in my country. Adding up that the inside of this case is also made of leather, unlike the official case, the production costs should be little higher then of the official case. This makes this case a little better "value for money". A quite important con is that the USB port cannot be reached when the case is closed. If you're looking for a case for the Xperia Tablet Z and you want it delivered fast and price is not a problem, or you're looking for a high quality genuine leather case for the Xperia Tablet Z, I highly recommend this one.
Did you like my little review? A simple click on the "Thanks" button would be appreciated. For the Dutch speaking readers, here's a link to the Dutch version: http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_message/40540897#40540897

Looking for the best case for Xperia Z Ultra

Hi all
As the title says.. i would like to get some opinions about a case for my sony Xperia Z ultra.
I already got a Flip case(its called Original Flip case for Z Ultra) but i kinda dont like it for few reasons.
My headset cant plug in correctly(doesnt work at all)since the case is preventing the Headset to totally fit in the phone slot
I cant open the mini usb cover on my phone, coz that specific case is also covering that part of the phone
I even think i cant open the microSD/MicroSim cover on phone coz of the same reason
So my main question is: Im sure many ppl here purchased many different flip covers etc.
Which one do u think fits the best for it ,so that none of the phone inputs/outputs are not covered by the flip case it self?
Im from Greece, but i can order worldwide if it actually worths it
* small note: if u dont have the case in your hands... you cant really tell which parts on phone its blocking. Thus..i odnt wanna buy one and just waste some cash.So im looking for an opinion here
Thanks very much
The best choice is no case for this big guy : P
Case
Here's what I'm debating on getting: (look up xperia z ultra bumper devilcase). It's a really sleek looking bumper case. I would do that bumper and then get some metal decal/skins for the front and back.

I just ordered the Sony CP12 battery case from Amazon. It is very expensive but it supposedly doubles the battery and also comes with stylus that can be stored in the case. I like that very much since I'm coming to Z Ultra from Note 3 and am used to stylus. Anyhow, I hope this will it as far as cases go (it should arrive in few days). By the way, I already tried 2 different 3rd party cases and hated both - one was flip cover type and the other open type that only covered back and sides (came with useless screen saver).
I have tried many cases, and the Stilgut leather case is my fav by far.
Incipio dual double layers
The incipio dual is a double layers case giving the ZU a very good protection. I've got my for about two years and very happy with it. Also very thin for a double layers case (rubber inside, plastic TPU outside). The only con is that you can't charge with the magnetic part on the side because it is hidden inside the case.
i hate having a case on my ultra, it just becomes too bulky
i have front/back glass screen protector for everyday use and then i use a plastic case when I am traveling..
I have a flip open case and also a rubber case that I'll sell cheap.
No case

Spigen Rugged Armor for Huawei P20 Pro - Review

Spigen has been my go to case maker for the last 5 years and once again I was not dissapointed with the quality. The case is a perfect fit for my Huawei P20 Pro and looks stylish. All buttons and ports are easily accessible (there are cutouts for cameras, speakers, USB C port, IR blaster and microphone). The case doesn't add too much bulk and the buttons are easy to press. There is a lip on the front surrounding the display that should protect it from drops face down.Would definitely recommend. The camera on the back doesn't stick out and the phone lies flat on the table.
For 9.99£ it's a bargain imo. Link to Amazon.
I've decided to live dangerously with this phone, I've ordered a KitBag from Amazon and will have no case or screen protector on it, unless a DECENT full coverage one comes along
I got the same thing but unbranded for £3.99 on ebay. literally exactly the same.

Thank you for posting this review. I was about to buy one too but was concerned If any of the camera bump stuck out or was nicely tucked in. Spigen rugged armour is the best phone case I've ever had. incredible shock protection yet doesn't scratch funny enough. They clean up great and look new throughout (or at least mine does).
Damn, just got this case. Really slick, I'm a little worried about the camera it's rather flush but better than nothing haha

I can vouch for the Slim Armor case. Just picked up a P20 Pro yesterday and Spigen was my go-to brand and it's really nice and not super bulky.
The rugged armor is good but the glass screen cover that Spiegen offers is crap! I've had it on the phone for 2 days, just took it out of my pocket and theres a crack right across the screen cover! This is with the Rugged Armor on the phone too, so theres a nice big lip above the screen cover to protect the edges. Nothing else in my pockets either, I'm very careful with my phones.
I have to disagree with the above ref the Spigen screen protector, I have had one on for 3 weeks and am really impressed with it. My phone has been with me everywhere in that time and has taken a couple of drops and knocks and the cover is holding up really well, also it looks and feels far better than the others I have tried. I'm using with the Slim Armor and together it's very well protected
I'd be surprised if the screen protector just magically broke on it's own. Probably just took some minor impact at a fateful angle. Maybe ask Spigen for a warranty and see what happens.
I returned my spiegen tough armour because of the lack of camera protection.
went with this instead... purchased 3 of them(different colors)
great case with camera protection
Dooqi Huawei P20/P20 Pro/P20 Lite Ring Stand Holder Shockproof Rugged Case Cover
I got the Spigen case before I picked up the P20 Pro. Never had an issue with it; I even stuck an iRing to the back of the case so that it gives me some added security if I somehow lose grip of the case.
It's true that the camera hump is close to the plastic spigen back. But it is enough to protect the camera. There is no doubt that it could be better. Spigen have recognised this and brought out a new case. See the spigen website
Anime had experience with Mark Armor Case from Spigen?

What Case is everyone going with for their S20 Ultra?

Just wanting to see what all cases everyone is getting for their S20 Ultra. I am debating on getting the UAG Monarch Series case again. Their really good cases and not bulky at all.
I've preordered the Samsung Protective Standing Cover along with the phone.
I've also ordered a Zizo Bolt.
I used to like UAG Monarch, UAG Plasma and Otterbox Symmetry cases, but they offer very little drop protection at the bottom lip, which is loose.
Also thinking of getting the Speck Presidio Grip and Gear4 Battersea.
I work in a factory environment so defender/whitestone all the way...
I'm trying to find one that will a) have built-in magnets for magnetic mounting (want them built-in so there's no bulge from inserting a flat one between the case and the phone so it lies flat on it's back), and b) have those magnets in a place where it minimizes disruption to wireless charging. The only one I was able to find for my S9 was by Pitaka (with their own magnetic mount, which makes sense since the magnets are in a non-standard location), but the case had an issue where the top/bottom/side lips wouldn't extend past the front face to protect the screen from lying flat on it's front on a desk.

Nice- thanks!
Pitaka, since many years, for day to day / office, dBrand Grip case (with custom pitaka plates under the back sticker) as a self made 'Pitaka pro' for days with higher demand for protection.
Using Pitaka in the car daily, so I want that option ti stick it to my magnetic Qi charger in the car.
Latercase for me. Probably the DBrand case and skin also
I'll go with the Spigen Neo Hybrid. Slim enough not to be embarrassing, but offers drop protection. Gone are the days of OB Defender, UAG, etc. Second option would be the SupCase Unicorn Beetle.
I also buy the QuadLock case for the Summer, to use with my bike.
Black leather offical from their site. Although most of the time I don't use a case even though I should. But given the hefty price tag it probably will be wise to keep it on

The (Samsung) black leather case was nice from the S10+ series. Got an open box from Best Buy for $29 in perfect condition although the package looked like Flossy opened it! LOL. The silicone IMO was junk!
The rugged (Samsung) case is great, the kickstand comes in handy. I have one on my S10 5G and Note 10+ and will be picking one up for the S20U.
I may splurge and get the Pitaka for the S20U as the pics I've seen with the phone in it just look plain sick!
I'm gonna start with the Caseology Parallax and Spigen Neo Hybrid for now. Got them both on the way!
Spigen Rugged Armor, already in hand lol
Been using S-view cover on N10+ since September, it does great screen protection job, don't want anything else for my S20 Ultra. Scratch protection 24/7 and a piece of mind when the phone is being put into or taken out of jacket or pant's pockets. My N+10 screen still has a 'mint' looks even after 6 months of use w/o any protective film, I peeled that off right after getting it.

I don't see an s-view cover for the Ultra on Samsung's website. S20 and S20+ have it.

Well, when I was writing my previous post I just assumed that they will have S-view case for S20s, most Samsung phones have it and now I found it, they don't list the price yet:

Cool!
Gone for the grey samsung case with the stand option , abit dull but it protects the phone , second choice would be a case from spigen
Spigen Rugged Armour. Went with it for the S9+, S10+ and now S20U. Protected my phone perfectly for 3 years so why change

Accessories Any decent cases and screen protectors

Ok guys I got the Xperia 1 iii after much thought and since I got it after getting the official Sony case and a screen protector I have been through 3 glass screen protectors in like the first couple of weeks and hadn't even droped my phone outside . I put this down to the poor protection from the official Sony case offers. So I purchased the Spigen case that offers the full bumper cover and replaced another Spigen glass screen protector for little under £15 and after putting it on my bed side cabinet last night and getting in the car this morning I noticed the screen protector is broken again .and I haven't even dropped it inside . So I'm down over £100 in the last month or so and geting fed up with trying to find a decent case and screen protector for the Xperia 1 iii
I also look for a good screen protector. Which one can I get on Amazon Italy?
I have read that it is best to avoid the spigen align master.
As a cover I feel great with the Spigen
Spigen case is great. You will not find a suitable screen protector because the edges of the screen are still "curved" thereby not allowing the protector to cover the entire screen edge-to-edge. I gave up on a screen protector for most phones lately due to this fact.

I think it depends on what you mean by edge to edge protection. If you mean it covers the entire front, bezels included all the way to phone edges than no there isn't one, though those screen protectors with black borders all around get pretty close. The draw back is that depending on the manufacturer, some of them have black borders covering the edges of the screen more than others, which can be noticeable and annoying.
There are also screen protectors that go slightly beyond the edge of the screen. As in you can see the border between the screen and the bezels right beneath the glass, but that's about it. I consider that screen edge to edge and I have been using that. As you mentioned, since the screen curves ever so slightly at edges, the edge of that screen protector doesn't sit 100% flush on the screen.
Some manufacturers give a kind of transparent filler glue that you can brush in the gap along the edge to fill it up and make it looks seamless instead of a visible air gap. However because it isn't a solid surface, the glass along the edges can crack if you press your screen edge hard enough multiple times, maybe from an intense gaming session. But under normal use, so far it held up.
I don't have recommendations, as I bought them from my local e-commerce site, although they are direct from China, so I'm sure they are there somewhere on Taobao or Aliexpress. I am not sure of which ones are these if I were to search on those platforms, or on your platforms like Amazon.
I use spigen glass and except the first one that broken easily i have no issue.
I bought spigen case but trashed it after a single day..too bulky...i bought a 10 Eur in soft clear silicon off amazon.it (Elyco Cover) Not the best against yellow tint but i smoke then no case will ever be safe from yellow tint.
But this cover is really really thin and don't ruin phone appearance
The spigen cover for iphone 12 pro was good, pretty thin but protective. The one for Xperia 1 III from spigen is really really bad, it protect well but increase the size of the phone in a nasty way

Not sure which Spigen case you are talking about but the one I have does not add hardly anything to the feel of the phone. Oh well, to each his own!

The Spigen ultra hybrid (in 2021 It was the only cover for Xperia 1III fine by Spigen)
And compared to the One i use now is sensibly bigger and bulkier, also i found the hard plastic parts in the rear of the cover pretty nasty.
For example on my old Xperia 1 i have the Spigen Crystal liquid cover and if you compare that Spigen cover with the One for X1 III Is pretty clear how the new cover made the phone bulkier.
It's not much, around 1-1.5 mm thicker, but the feeling Is worst, at least for me.

$12.00 can't be beat!
I really recommend the original cover with stand:
Osłona z podstawką do smartfonu Sony Xperia 1 III | XQZ-CBBCB - Etui - sklep internetowy Sony Centre
XQZCBBCB.ROW : Stylowa osłona z podstawką do smartfonu Xperia 1 III

It is made of materials that helps heat dissipation and also anti-bacterial.
Maybe it's only a cover and expensive one but I can say it is really a good quality. So I can recommend it.
Spigen cases all the way. Had them since my Nexus 6P.
If you can get up to north Wales tech base they have what they call clear shield it's like that dbrand skin I have it on my Xperia 5 ii only prob is getting there and paying 20 pound of you want I can show pictures of the front and back o also have the like crabon type back cover and also have Duc ducis flip case I alternate between the 2 and go naked sometimes
Here's what I was on about
