Mic?

That looks like a mic to me. Noise cancellation? Or maybe it's the zoom mic I just read about?

Zoom in mic is in a small hole under the middle camera lens & Noise cancelation mic is at the top hole of the device ,

I mean iPhones use three different mics so it's not inconceivable that Samsung decided to do so as well.

Previous Samsung phones also had 3 microphones Since Note10+ , but this time it seems like they added a 4th one
Two at the bottom, one at the top and one in the back beside the camera,

Yes, it's first time but this is what indicated in user manual.
Also mentioned there if you cover this then there may be extra noice during call, so might be to lower noice.

I wonder if the Air vent hole is to fix the issue I have had on multiple S22 Ultras. I have had 3 phones as the speaker would start to get static(blown speaker). I also seen numerous post about the speaker getting static from air preasure while flying. That air vent could be associated with the speaker to help equalize the preasure issues it has.
The S22U was the only phone I have ever had from Samsung that has done this let alone multiple times.

I'm literally scratching my head as I'm trying to find it myself. Maybe there's a big enough gap between the glass and the camera for the mic to pick up sound.

According to Jerry Rig Everything, the S23 Ultra Teardown shows that those 2 holes are for the MIC's, however, there is protection there so the SIM Tray Tool CANNOT damage anything if you accidentally put it in there. The hole is tapered smaller BEFORE it gets to the protecting seal so you cannot damage it.
The MIC actually sits ABOVE this membrane, so even if you managed to stick something in there and reach the membrane and poke it, the only thing you have accomplished is to make your phone less waterproof.

Interestingly enough, I looked into that. The "rear flash pack" the guy is talking about doesnt exist. The static image at the beginning of the phone with the back off is PHOTOSHOPPED to show an LCD on there. Yay, he touched an app on the screen that "turned on the lcd"! I could disassemble an lcd flashlight and tape the contact point, battery and lcd to the back of my phone and duplicate this video. I could even put an icon on my desktop to press too, just to make it look nifty! Notice how nowhere in the video does he show the back of the phone ON video in good light.
Oh, and very interesting that people have been asking the guy for the link for his "rear flash pack" for almost a year and hes given 0 responses.
Theres no proof of concept there. You know how ridiculous a mod like that would be? Not only would you have to have the knowledge of the circuitboards to solder the lcd leads on, but you would also have to know android well enough to know how to activate those specific contact points. Hell, we cant even figure out how to crack the rogers coding yet, what makes you think that someone out there figured all this out?
EDIT: Heres proof:
This is the "picture" from said video.
Increase the image to biggest size and notice the following:
-The LCD holes arent round.
-The LCD holes are PIXELATED
-The LCD holes are drilled right through a flimsy metal clip under the battery door. Look at it on YOUR phone and tell me how thats possible without the clip breaking into pieces and falling off.
-the rim of the LCD holes has obviously had the burn tool in photoshop applied to it (notice how its darker around the edges than any other part of the phone.
Oh, and the coup de grace: THE PICTURE IS AN UNBOXING PHOTO FROM THE PHONE'S RELEASE LAST SEPTEMBER. You can see the G1 box and all of the box contents on the floor right under the phone!
Well.. that brings us back to square one, ill bust out my nikon as soon as I get my phone up and running again, ran into some minor (i mean major) technical difficulties.

European TouchPro2 battery door on Tilt 2??

ive searched for posts around here and i couldnt find the right answer,
but has anyone tried on the european TP2 battery cover(silver) and put it on the Tilt 2?? im thinking about buying one off of HTCPedia since my original cover has scratches on the brushed metal area but i also want a touch of the original TP2 ...all though the charcoal color was good i still want the silver Euro cover,
if you do have it please provide some pictures, and btw i could care less about the PTT button being covered up
thanks a lot

lol true, but i remap it and the extra button is really handy.
As for the back case fitting, i remember searching a while ago for the same thing but got nothing conclusive, only that the back case for the cdma rhodiums doesn't fit right on the gsm ones because they have mini-usb and 3.5mm jack on the bottom.
Guess you should just buy a cheap one online and tell us all if it works?
Its not just about the PTT button.. the bottom of the back cover will be different. I believe if you need one that will fit the tilt 2 you have to get one that is made JUST for it. By that I mean the cut out for the space where the USB port at the bottom is is different because the tilt 2 just has the usb while other versions have the usb and the headphone jack there for are.... bigger I believe.
I saw some pictures on here somewhere that someone took of them trying to put on an different cover and yes while it does indeed clip on the bottom part looks stupid as it had a big gab on either side of where it would normally fit snug on the bottom by the usb port.

I'm not sure I know what you mean, but doesn't the AT&T Tilt 2 have a 3.5 mm headset jack? The Euro TP2 has the combined USB headset/usb port. So at the least, even assuming it fit, would you not lose your headset port?
I know you could use an electric drill, but that is a bit extreme...

The tilt 2 and the European TP2 both only have the htc modded mini usb on the bottom--no headphone jack. The Verizon and Sprint tp2's have the headphone jacks.....No drill needed.
I would assume as LONG as the door/back cover is from a device that only has a usb port on the button and not a usb port AND headset port then.......... yes it will fit. If you're putting on a cover from a phone that has the usb port and headset port you'll have a pretty large gap, hole, whatever you want to call it, on either side of the port.. well where the cover meets the area where the usb port is. I know this for a fact as I saw someone post a picture on here when they did it to their phone .
If it has the same bottom fitting... Give'r

@Ambroos, I know you have a lot of knowledge, do you know what that is? It is a small hole on the top right edge of the device. Look like the microphone/dock conector, but it is a bit smaller, candy don't seem to be deep...

Xperia Z (the phone) has the same thing. Probably something related to the construction process. I doubt it actually does anything.

At least you don't have to open any flaps or connect any wires.
What's the difference between placing your tablet on a "wireless" charging pad or in a cradle anyway?
A cradle looks much nicer and neater. Inductive charging wastes a part of the energy, generates more heat and is generally slower.

With wireless charger you may use any case, with dock only original one or of the same construction (type). Energy waste is not substantial in this case, a lot of people plug in tablet for a charge overnight, it doesn't matter that it will take 1 hour more, because you can partially compensate it by using more powerfull charger (e.g. from Ipad or samsung 2,1A work well) instead of original 1,5A which chargers forever even in craddle).

yes
if your device isnt water resistant then it isnt air tight, so if your device is sealed and your are increasing the preassure by squeezing your phone a tiny bit then its theoreticly water resistant..
and since your preasure value should only increase if your flaps are close this only increases the validity of this test.
(mine do atleast )
Tnx

Btw this is how my Z2 reacts on pressure sensor when I press it from 1013 it goes to 1023 then it comes to back 1013 in faster then second when I stop pressing it, also when I keep pressure (my thumbs on phone few secs) it goes from 1023 to 1013 slowly even if I'm not removing my thumbs from phone, so I hope it's good or should it stay from 1013 to 1023 whole time I'm pressing it (not removing thumbs)?
It's a normal thing when you pressed and pressure jump at first and come back to normal. It's because pressue stabilizes it self in phone.
So?
also when I keep pressure (my thumbs on phone few secs) it goes from 1023 to 1013 slowly even if I'm not removing my thumbs from phone, so I hope it's good or should it stay from 1013 to 1023 whole time I'm pressing it (not removing thumbs)? So this is normal too?
It's normal, nothing to worry about but for me, a real waterproof test is when you actually put your phone in water ! ;D
I have to disagree.
If your front or back glass gets loose, it won't be waterproof anymore but when you compress the phone it will temporarily close the gap and you'll see pressure rise in your phone.
Oh

Oh man you shouldn't reply me that . My Z2 has 2 minor gaps like all waterproof xperias have, sheet of small and thin paper can go through but not deep. I'm not scared of that but my Z2 creaks too, when I push it stronger below sony logo on back. With all that pressure test works great like it should and guy from which I bought phone told me he used it in pool, I also saw pictures and videos he did not deleted but I'm still scared to put it in water. Ordering new usb and microsd flaps from ebay now and magnetic charger so I would not need to open flaps anymore, device is going to be 9 months old soon .
PS: Sony said that flaps are not thing you need to be concerned of with waterproofing.
I'm sorry but I don't know about that gaps.
Please tell me what to look for.
My z2 has the frame that moves a bit, around the power button, and it worries me a lot because I really need it to be waterproof....
it's not a 100% sure test. I tested my phone with this method and it worked, but then I tried to submerge my phone into water and a few hours later my touchscreen got broken. here is a link to my thread about the water damage.

Replacement grills for the Axon 7. If yours break or you just want to try another design, you can use these!
If you want a specific design, you can tell me and i'll do my best.
These models are UNTESTED - We don't know if they are the right size yet. Please print one and tell me where I need to refine the model!
They might be a few tenths of a millimeter off, but not more than that. my main worry is if the height is right - if someone can test and measure, i'd appreciate it (and fix it if needed)!
The grills are in .STL format, tolerances 0.05mm (You can open them with Win10's 3d file viewer)

Thank you
Are all these holes needed? I mean the speakers are not this "long" right?
A black one with cutouts only where its necessary would be awesome.
In wish i had a printer :/
With a standard 0.4mm nozzle, the model with all the holes will not be printable on an FDM machine. Maybe with an 0.2mm nozzle but I think the holes will still cause problems.

The problem is that the top speaker is in the middle and the bottom speaker is on the lower right corner. So it would be really weird

As long as the outermost shape is okay, just with having the holes as rough marks to drill them later is enough. That's why I want someone to print and test them, so that I can improve the design until it can be printed and sanded as little as possible.
These models are based on a 1200dpi scan of the grills. They might be smaller or bigger, or the camera hole might be slightly off-center.

I mean get a piece of paper and write down your idea. I make the models.
You can send stuff to print and then pay for it. I don't know how expensive that would be but it's known to be a common thing, since people can make custom things like Rubik cubes and get them all printed and ready to assemble. Since these pieces are tiny I guess it wouldn't be very expensive. But I have to test them first and see if the size is right or not
i wish those speakers in black,is there any video that show how the remove/replace the speaker grills?
scale is bad....
they are less than 10mm.... really tiny
scale it and quote me, I print it. is a few minutes to do it
Just wow! Love the Idea and it could be awesome to use black Ones with bigger Diamond shaped holes... Wish i could Print some, but i would also mind buying a pair of them...

I don't know why that could've happened, bur I don't know how to scale them. My .par files are on scale, around 70 mm long. I'll see how I can save them to retain the size, but it's weird

Well there are services where you send the file and they print the grills for you and send them... You're on Brazil, right?
