Question S23 Ultra SIM Configuration - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

For those that have the S23U in North America, can you tell me if the phone will take two physical sims yet or do we only have on SIM slot and one eSim?

One and One

I'm not in US but it's same version worldwide. The sim tray has room for 2 nano sim. So you can have either 2 physical sims or 1 esim + 1 physical.
Hope this helps

My T-Mobile has ONE SIM card slot and ONE eSIM.
I converted my physical SIM to an eSIM without issue and have a normal SIM slot available.

Once the green SIM tray replacements are available in dual-SIM. I am going to order a couple and see if t he second slot actually works. The second IMEI is there, regardless of whether it is used for eSIM or dual-SIM. The DSDS apk is listed in system apps although I would like to get a hold of the DSDA apk to see if there would be a way to replace it through a custom ROM to enable dual active, even if it's just with one pSIM and one eSIM.

Would be fantastic if we can use real dual SIM but I don't put it past Samsung to have made physical changes to the device to make sure we can't use it.

Dual sim adapter question

Hi everyone!
I noticed a large selection of dual or triple sim card adapter out there allowing us to have more than one sim installed in our phones at a time.
Just had a quick question if anyone has used them.
Do both slots allow LTE support? Or just the main slots?
I travel from Canada to USA and would love to find a sim option that allows me to switch between Sims when I cross the border, but I'd like to make sure LTE and all features work on both Sims, not just the main one.
Thanks for your advice!
Hi, I think that only the SIM that is into the phone takes internet, the others only make calls, you cannot use them for internet.
Cheers

Hi.
I bought myself no-brand adapter on amazon.
TL;DR version? My adapter allows LTE only on "first" sim. Second one is limited to HSDPA speeds.

No. Both sim chips are fully functional on my unit, only with limitation in form of LTE being present on main slot. Also, only one sim chip is active at any given time - that was exactly what I needed, so I don't mind rebooting my phone when I switch carriers. For active dual sim support a phone with build in dual slots for SIM is needed.

Rebrand S9+ and turn it to DualSIM

Hello everyone,
i could take this phone as an upgrade with my current plan, however it is of course single sim.
In EU there are any differences in the hardware between single sim and dual sim (other than the sim tray slot)?
Thanks

I wish it was that simple, could use that functionality tbh... Unfortunately you can not convert a single sim card phone into a dual sim card.
This is because the phone lacks the necessary connections/hardware internally for dual sim card support.

Dual SIM?

So I got the 7T Pro today, all the specs say it's dual SIM but the one I received (in UK) only had a single SIM tray even though there are System Settings for Dual SIM.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to order a dual SIM tray from somewhere, and would it be a simple process of just replacing the tray to get dual SIM functionality? TIA.
Do you have a unlocked model or some carrier brand? Remember the Sim tray is double sided.
Sim is one on the bottom side and one on the top side, pretty neat design
Sent from my OnePlus 7T Pro
Thanks, I didn't realise that! My previous phone had the SIMs side by side.

Question Dual Sim support?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the T Mobile Nord N200 have dual sim support? The one I got from t mobile the sim tray only support 1 SIM and 1 microSD, it seems there is a filled in space in the middle that has a size for another sim, do you think if there is a Oneplus dual sim tray we can buy and use it for the N200 and have dual sim support?? Thanks!
If I understand it correctly it's capable of one sim and one esim. I could be wrong however that is the way they explained it to me.
I wonder if they will market an international version of the same phone like the 6T. With the 6T you can convert it by flashing the international version of the firmware and replace the sim tray with a dual slot tray.

The Nord N200 5G does not has esim. Just single physical sim

That could be. The TMobile lady wasn't the brightest person in the world.....
Spec on GSMarena says it's dual sim capable... https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_nord_n200_5g-10961.php
So I'm hoping the tmobile version retained that functionality just need a dual sim tray...
If it was just a matter of needing the tray, I think both IMEIs would be shown. However, only one IMEI is shown so either it doesn't have eSIM or a new firmware/ROM is needed.

Dual SIM works just fine on my TMo 8T with a single IMEI, tray replaced & rom flashed. So I doubt having 2 distinct IMEI is a requirement for dual-SIM support.
If I recall correctly with my 6t it did not show the second IMEI until I flashed the international version

Having only 1 IMEI should not generally be an issue. If the dual SIM tray trick works on the N200, then both SIMs will get that same IMEI number. As long as you use the 2 SIMs on two separate cellular networks - which is usually the most common use case for dual SIMs anyway - it will work just fine with that 1 IMEI on both SIMs. I think there are multiple posts on the other Oneplus threads on XDA about this working out for them, when the dual SIM tray trick indeed was possible for that specific phone.
I think the crux here is testing out a dual SIM tray on the N200. Since I am not aware of any dual SIM N200 version released anywhere in the world, there is no easy way to purchase an actual dual SIM tray for the N200. The best test scenario I can think of is for folks who have both an N200 and any other dual SIM tray Oneplus phone - like international or factory unlocked OP8 or OP9 - they can perhaps visually verify if the dual SIM tray from the OP8 or OP9 is the same geometric shape and size as the N200 tray (which already has a filled in dual SIM tray). If so, simply try the OP8/OP9 dual SIM tray out on the N200!
Anybody who has the dual SIM tray for OP8 or OP9 as well as the N200, who is willing to look into the above test scenario for dual SIM tray for N200, and sharing their experience with us?

not sure about OP9, but I can confirm the SIM trays for OP8 and OP7 (two SIM cards overlapped with chips facing outside) have different shapes from the tray of Nord N200 (SIM1, the potential SIM2, & MicroSD slots are next to each other).

Question Switching from sim to esim T-Mobile

I have a pixel 6 with a physical sim. How do I go about swapping over to an esim?

call T-Mobile or stop by one of their stores. You'll need to give them the IMEI # for sim slot 2. They'll assign a new virtual SIM to your phone and then you'll be able to remove the physical card.
