Installation : State of the art Installation procedure.

WARNING
Before you root your device you must be aware that
This will void warranty.
As of now you will lose Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass forever if you root once, even unrooting won't help.
There are many features stop working when you unlock bootloader other than S pay/Pass like Samsung Health, Secure Folder, Galaxy Watch pairing issue, Issue connecting old gear watch (S3 or earlier), Google Pay etc but ROM is patched for all these mentioned features. Still you may trouble using some bank apps and these may fixed by adding these apps to Magisk Hide
There may be some knox features there which you may not able to use but I can't list those as I never used. Just Google It
Patched featurs are working today when writing this, No idea if it may stop working next moment/tomorrow or later
Also to note, once you root, you can't go back to "pre-rooted" state completely. It is one way!
OTA won't work on rooted device.
ROOT with caution.
On unlocking bootloader you will have warning screen while device boot and as of now no workaround to hide. Though it can be removed with re flashing stock rom + re locking bootloader
You can unroot & Relock bootloader after flashing stock firmware, but still your warranty flag remain 0x1 and most of countries it still voids warranty. Also after unrooting & relocking bootloader, some knox features never work again.
ROM Tool permission : Files & media - To save and read files, Calendar - Tool needs some time monitoring to avoid using RT immediately after reboot. Special access for accessibility service - Since Android 12 it requires for QS panel custom Toggl e.g. Reboot to recovery

Hi, thanks for the effort. I'm looking forward for the development/optimization of the the S23 Ultra rom/module of yours.
Secondly, I know it's still in "startup phase" but the dedicated S23 page on your website show some faults concerning Exynos, because the S23 don't have this chipset they're all the same. Like under 'IMEI backup' or 'Sound changer'.

Installing this Rom will void warranty. Installing TWRP will trip knox to 0x1!
Hey folks! I bet you know me from the S7/S7 Edge forums
I did/I'm still doing some work there with the SuperStock-Rom (which is quite similar to this rom here on the S8 actually), or the probably most known Rom on the S7 edge: SuperMan-Rom. So, what's the aim of this rom? Trying to be as close to stock as possible with some nice modifications as: Always up to date, knox fake, auto updated bootloader/modem. You can check full feature list below!
And why the name "BatStock-Rom"? I will do a custom rom (which has similar features to my SuperMan-Rom) with the name "BatMan-Rom" that's why.

HOW-TO Install the rom:
0. Make sure you have ticked OEM Unlock in Developer settings and have a backup of your user apps!
1. Download latest bootloader and modem from here:
Bootloader/Modem
2. Download latest odin
3. Flash BL (bootloader) in BL tab and CP (modem) in CP tab of odin. Then follow the steps on this side until you get a working custom recovery: TWRP for S8 (to enter download mode, press power+bixby button+volume down)
4. If you are done with bootloader, modem and recovery we can move on, boot into twrp holding power, bixby button and volume up while phone is powered off
5. This will delete all your personal data! In TWRP recovery: Click on wipe, format data and type "yes"
6. Wait until it is finished then click reboot, reboot to recovery
7. Now connect your phone to PC and copy the rom file inside your internal or external sd card
8. Flash the rom and wait until it is finished
9. Reboot your phone and wait till it finished booting
10. After you setup your phone, check if magisk/busybox got installed. If not install them from playstore

As long as you download the G950F files, sure. I always use one device for all uploads. This time I own a S8+ that's why.
On the s8 it was the opposite

On the other roms that has been released they all had the problem that they didnt check which device specifically it was installed on in Aroma which made the problem that build.prop got the wrong model-number for some. Ie the roms either always put SM-G955F or SM-G950F regardless of what the phone at hand was or wasnt.
Not a problem on this one i presume?

on my s7 i use youre superman rom and now first on my s8 nemesis rom but i change now to this rom
If I have already install another rom now can install directly this rom without upgrade modem and boot loader or is strictly necessary????

As with any ROM, by flashing you choose to enable these modifications on your device.
Your warranty will be gone and Knox will be tripped. I am not responsible for any damage caused
or problems encountered by your use of this firmware.
All builds I upload have been tested on my personal phone.
Any issues with TWRP should be asked in the TWRP thread.
Before proceeding, please create a backup of your /data/ partition using TWRP or by copying the files into some other external storage medium (USB, PC, cloud etc).
Make sure you are coming from an Oreo ROM and OEM unlock is enabled

Is the OEM unlock option enabled in your developer settings? (This unlocks the bootloader). If the bootloader is locked, you won't be able to flash TWRP. See this post on the TWRP thread for the full install instructions.

No problem, happy to help. The part about rooting in the S8 TWRP thread is if you want to root the stock firmware. If you want to install this ROM (Altitude) then you'll need to do a full wipe from TWRP, and install the zip from the "Install" menu. Once it's finished, you can reboot and Altitude will be installed with root.
Make sure you've got either a G950F or G950FD, and don't forget your warranty will be voided after doing all this, so Samsung Pay etc. won't work even if you go back to stock.
When I try to boot up my phone it says Verification failed and it tells me I need to factory reset. Even after agreeing to it, boots up to the same screen. What do I do?

hi, i got an issue:
in aroma, during magisk install stage screen goes black and phone is completely unresponsive.
if i manually force to reboot, device is in bootloop sort of. id does kind of boot but restarts after screen saying upgrading android.
this was when choosing normal wipe
flashed again and same issues as described above.
as stated earlier, this is on an n950n bootloader v3
rom checksum matches the one on AFH

mmm thats weird do you have telegram ? so you can send my some stuff that i need to check whats going wrong when magisk installs. because someone with the same model is running 4.0 fine without any problems

If rom have option to skip root then skip it and flash magisk zip separately after flashing rom will fix issue. It's a known glitch.
If no such option in rom then you can delete magisk zip from Rome zip, flash this modified zip and then magisk.zip

i already tried it. when it finishes copying data and system, it just wents black and reboots, but sadly it says 287 apps are optimizing, when it finishes it just do the same thing again so it puts you on bootloop

That's another issue and dev can only comment, I said is known issue
Make sure Chrome is not debloated, else it can cause such issue

About this project: discoveryOS (or in short: diOS)
I was not satisfied with any external car navigation system I can get because either they are ultra slow, outdated, having bad user experience, missing speed cam support or simply taking ages to get a gps lock within my car.
So the main approach here is not having the best ROM for all users but for those having the same need then I have. Usually these both should not conflict so if I fix an issue for my needs it might fix yours as well. But my focus is navigation, nothing (much) else.
Examples: if Camera has issues I might not solve it, if calling has issues I might not solve it, etc.

Your device need to be unlocked (seriously?!)
Latest TWRP/SHRP build is highly recommended, e.g. mine: see my recovery post
Do a full Nandroid backup before doing anything else!
Samsung STOCK firmware should be on T285XXU0AQH1.
You can check your current firmware version in Android -> settings -> About / Phone info -> Baseband version
If you like try first without flashing this firmware but if you encounter any issues upgrade to this version first before reporting

(scroll down and type T285XXU0AQH1 in the search box, choose the one for your country, download, flash as usual, flash TWRP/SHRP again, flash this ROM)

When you flash diOS the first time:
Wipe: System and do a factory reset !
A LOT of bad stuff can happen otherwise
Flash the ROM
Optional (if you want root): Flash Magisk
Flash OpenGapps ????? STOOOOOOOOP NO No no! you don't want that on a google-free phone! diOS contains everything you need to live without Google!
Boot (be patient on first boot!!! SIM detection might take a minute after the FIRST boot after clean flash as well)
Open Maps (MagicEarth) and click the download button to get your country/region maps
Open Automate to import the kioskmode flow
Open F-Droid -> Settings -> Repositories and choose those you want to enable (most of them are described here) & swipe down to update the repo list.
Open Aurora -> choose Anonymous as long as you don't want to have paid apps working

Known issues
no OMS support! OMS is a hack DEEP in the android sources and all these are outdated now. if you need that use jedl's build
build is ENG , i.e. "adb root" will work and no auth required for ADB
bluetooth is working but using the blobs by jedld's build until I find the time fixing the android sources (unfortunately the repo of jedld does not contain the full history so I have to compare manually...). Until then I keep it like that.
not charging on USB connection (normal power supply works fine) - still investigating. Seems to be an issue with my kernel.
This ROM is just coming with BASIC stuff so several apps you might want to see in a regular Android ROM are simply not there.

I had a REALLY hard time to actually make LOS 14.1 boot with cleaned sources.. thought the ramp-up will take a week at most .. but that was way off..
jedld had done several patches within AOSP and I had to find out which are required where etc. the main reason why my build were not booting at all (which is f**** hard to debug without and log and/or adb ) was that one.
But I needed to clean the sources as several parts of these were incredible outdated and so needs to be udpated.
I had spent several more days to cleaning up even more stuff and finally uploaded a test build.

It is still in a very early state and I have tested pretty much nothing else then boot, apps, bluetooth, WiFi

Ah yea I haven't uploaded the ODIN file yet. Thanks for reminding. You can either wait for that or flash any of the other available TWRP versions for the smt285 which have a ODIN package. Once you have TWRP you can simply flash my img from within TWRP to update .

Installed - works fine but found one annoying bug - lockscreen is not rotating at all - it's only vertical and not want to rotate to horizontal when I rotate device.

Prequisites

Being unencrypted (recommended)
Android 13 Bootloader (Android 12 BL may break camera features)
Instructions!

Add zip to either internal memory or SD card
OPTIONAL but recommended: Format data. This will erase media too.
Flash zip via custom recovery and read the on-screen information. ROM installs in 2 steps.
After step 1 is complete, you should be able to reboot to recovery and flash the zip again
Follow instructions and make the selections based on your preference

FAQQ: How can I report a bug?
A: Try and be as detailed as possible on how you encountered the bug. If you can include a logcat then even better. The more information provided the more likely it is to get the bug fixed. Unfortunately, I do not own this device and have to depend on users to help each other fix any bugs encountered.
Q: Can I flash this ROM without wiping my phone (dirty flash)?
A: There have been reports of this being successful, but I never do it myself nor do I ever recommend it. I always try to use the same bases to make the ROMs so in theory it can be done similar to an OTA update. All up to you, but I will ignore any reports of bad performance
Q: Help, I'm getting "secure check fail :" what should I do?
A: This is usually an error produced by mismatch in bootloader and the ROM images. To fix this, the easiest way is to install the latest stock firmware or the firmware best close to the version of the ROM you want to install (install February 2023 firmware if you want to install NcX February 2023 or install stock March 2023 firmware if you want to install NcX March 2023...etc...)
Q: Why aren't OTA updates installed automatically?
A: There's a bit of unfortunate news regarding this. Current OTA updates depend on TWRP's openrecoveryscript which seem to be broken on the latest TWRP official releases on both my A52s and A52 (might also be broken on M52). I don't like bothering TWRP devs or maintainers so I've passed on reporting it because it's really not widely used and for some reason stuff like crDroid OTA works fine on it. It could be that I'm working with outdated code but I'm not skilled enough to fix it.
If you want to keep using the latest TWRP, the way you install OTA's is following:
Download the update when available
When pressing Install, it should reboot to recovery. If it doesn't because you don't have Magisk installed, reboot to recovery manually
Once in recovery, select Flash on TWRP or directly navigate to the following directory with OrangeFox
sdcard/Android/data/com.mesalabs.ten.update/files
Flash the zip in the directory and wait for update to finish
[Optional] Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Reboot to system
This may be fixed in the future but for now, this is the current state of OTA updates

if enabled during installation, you can notice that the elements behind it, in the notification bar for example, are not static like in stock, they continue to show/play behind.
What about SM-M526BR ? Rom compatible ?

No wifi network show up and not possible to add wifi network after install

Also a red writtings after about this is not original software bla bla bla can you pls remove.

BR version has problems with wifi at the moment, a solution has already been found but not yet implemented.

this is bootloader message, cannot be removed, also not rom related.

as I mentioned above the BR version has issues with wifi, a fix hasn't been implemented yet.
ncx installation keeps going to recovery and not installing step 2, just detects step one and repeats same steps

Don't let the screen sleep/turn off during step 1 installation or it can cancel it. It's a bug I've seen on most phones.
I've uploaded the January build and updated the OP with a few changes.
The important thing to note here is the following:
The January patch cannot be used with MCK kernel at the moment
Also, in order to use the January version you need to be officially updated to the official January patch for M52 which means you will not be able to downgrade anymore since January official release bumps the Bootloader version to S2
Do not try to flash the January build of the ROM with U1 bootloader

Will I be able to flash ncx February version even if I updated to m52 5g oneui 5.1 that has February security patch??? Or not???
