On my previous phone Galaxy S21 Ultra there´s a 2x portrait zoom option.

On my new phone Galaxy s23 Ultra this feature has been removed.
Does anyone knows why or how to get it back?
The standard lens is to wide for portraits and faces gets distorted. But I'm in most cases to close to the subject to use the 3x. I love the 2x digital zoom option. And I can't understand why Samsung removed this option. Also the 200mp sensor would be ideal for digital 2x zoom. Iphone recently introduced 2x digital zoom and made kind of a big deal out of it.
And what about S22 Ultra? Is there a 2x option?

As a workaround, you can apply portrait effect after the fact in the gallery app so you can always take a picture in 1x, then apply portrait and crop.
Granted it's not remotely as convenient as having a 2x option in camera... Hopefully they add it back in a future update

Thank you PhilMorin for your reply.
I didn´t know the gallery app had this feature. I will check it out!
To avoid the work of manually cropping and also reducing megapixels you could tap the 1x zoom and then 2x that appears (But this can't be done in portrait mode).

unless you read somewhere that it has face detection, then I really don't believe it has face detection.
you can, however, move the focus point around. which is probably what they did in that pic.
Self Portrait - Puts camera in face detection mode and will automatically take a photo of your face or any face it locates in the viewfinder. You will not be able to press down and use the camera's capture button in this setting. Camera takes photo automatically when faces are found. All resolution sizes are allowed.
Yes, yes i realise that there is no such mode on the camera... but motorola
says there is... https://motorola-global-portal.cust.../69959/~/atrix---camera-use-&-troubleshooting
On a separate note, I believe it was removed in the 2.3 update
There is no face detection for international ATRIX. But I don't know about any of the other ATRIX

[Q] Smart TV Box with built in wecam - How to increase camera brightness?

I'm hoping that someone may have a solution to this problem...
I recently purchased an Android Smart TV Box from China (Ebay). It's model is GV-11C running Android 4.0.4.
This TV Box has a built-in 2MP camera. See pic...

I bought this purely for using Skype on the TV (and watching the occasional DLNA movie).
The function of the TV Box itself is great, apps work fine and it does everything I want it to.
However... When using the camera for Skype calls, the video is way too dark.
I've checked the video recording within the Camera application and can confirm it appears to be the camera in general rather than Skype.
When I switch the camera to picture mode (rather than video) I can increase the exposure to +2 and this looks acceptable. However, this setting does not save for video mode.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to increase the brightness/exposure of the video camera by default?
Willing to try just about anything as the only reason I bought this Box was for the camera.
Here is a screenshot of the 'About' page.
Thank you in advance

[Q] Fix incorrect camera orientation for side-mounted camera

I have a Chinese watch phone running Android 4.2.2, with a sideways-mounted camera that has the same relative position to the screen as on the Samsung Galaxy Gear. However, when I take photos with the camera tilted downward (e.g. pointed towards the floor), the photos are upside-down (see attached image).

}
I know why this happens but I am looking for a way to fix it. The root cause is that the camera is treated as a front-facing camera. For a front-facing camera, photos indeed need to be flipped if the gravity sensors detect this orientation. Sure enough, if I disassemble framework.jar, I find CAMERA_FACING_FRONT:I = 0x1. Sadly, there is no such thing as CAMERA_FACING_SIDE_FORWARD in the camera API.
The ideal solution is to find out where the camera sensor orientation relative to the screen is stored in the system files, and fix it by rotating by 90° around the pitch axis, if that is possible at all.
If the same can be achieved with an XPosed module, that would also be perfectly acceptable. For instance App Settings allows to fiddle with the sensors, but I don't think it allows this kind of rotation. Another problem is that the camera on this phone does not have its own APK, it seems to be embedded in the framework.jar, therefore it cannot be modified with App Settings.
Any ideas?

works like this with videos and photos
Short answer: most likely no.
From what I understand you want a joint picture between the 2 cameras. That doesn't exist AFAIK. The only thing u can get with *some* cameras is a small window on the back camera that houses the image from the front camera. I think Sony had that feature on one extension... But it's pretty much impossible to port. There must be other apps that support this but certainly not full on 360. How would you use 2 *different* cameras for this? You'd have dramatic differences in quality, locked white balance and exposure (if you want a viable image at all) etc..

Transparent Galaxy Note 3 (Skin Template)

Well, as you all know, Galaxy Note 3 is quite old, and barely gets supported by most accessory manufacturers nowadays, so I decided to take some pictures, and scan the internals of my Galaxy Note 3, and stitch it all up, so I can use it like a transparent skin mod on my clear case, and I wanted to share it to you guys, so enjoy printing lol.
(You might be wondering, "take some pictures"? Yeah I did, I used multiple images and stitch them all up. Normal methods doesn't produce the desired clarity: Scanning the whole phone opened, produced blurred components, and are out of focus, and only those that are touching the glass surface of the scanner are that on focus, such as the battery, pen and the camera; Taking a normal whole picture of the phone, on the other hand, didn't have the blurring issue found on scanning, although the resolution of the picture is affected by my other phone's Camera resolution (which is 12MP). And so, to workaround this, I instead took multiple pictures of the parts of the phone. That's why you can see some unbalanaced lighting here and there throughout the image.)
