Question Error: Pen Menu is not available temporarily. Please try it later. - Microsoft Surface Duo 2

Hi all,
I've recently bought a Uogic pen for my Surface Duo 2. Like the slim pen, it features a top button that, once paired, can be programmed to open various apps.
However, on my Duo 2, I am unable to open the Pen Menu introduced with the android 12 update. Whichever gesture I assign to it the device shows the following message:
'Pen Menu is not available temporarily. Please try it later.'
I cannot see any reason this should be the case and cannot find any reference to this issue online.
I spoke to a representative online who suggested clear the data for the Pen Menu app. However, it seems that the app didn't or couldn't reinstall and as such is taking up 0B of storage.
Can anyone provide the apk for the app so I can attempt a reinstall or suggest any other fixes?
Cheers!

Tablet: "Virus" disables applications!

Hi! I have a problem with my new tablet. So...
Please! Help me to remove it!
I recently bought a tablet. This is a new model on the market: Lenovo Yoga 10.
And as it often happens. I started to download different apps from Google Play and upload photos from your computer to the tablet, via cable.
And that's probably the way it got something on my beloved tablet
When I turn on any game, it takes several dozen seconds, and "something" off her, but not as the end but they drop it "*on the belt" (if you know what I mean). This happens with any application that inclusion. There is no difference whether the inclusion wi-fi or not. If the inclusion galleries one finger movement off the "*belt".
* "at the bar" - At the bottom of the screen. You have a "black menu", a belt. And "something" allows apps to the third window.
Please! Help me to remove it!

[Q] Cubot One S & Google Cardboard - Display Issues

Hi there,
I have a (stock) Cubot One S and recently purchased a Cardboard kit.
Anyway, I can install and launch any Cardboard app and can always see the on-screen centre divider, the settings (cog) icon at the bottom and when I launch the Cardboard app I can see the 'intro' icons and tutorial. The issue I am having is that I only ever see random vertical lines in both sides of the split-screen instead of what I should be seeing once an app starts, including the Cardboard demo apps.
I already knew the magnet would not work as this phone does not have a magnetometer; I confirmed this by installing a compass app that reported no hardware support was found on the device. This wasn't a big issue; I can always just pop the flap open and tap the screen. I at least expected the video to work, though!
Is anyone else having this issue with a Cubot brand phone? Any help would be much appreciated.
A small update...
I have downloaded one game so far that works: Highway Stunt. No other cardboard games nor apps work; they all exhibit the same display problem mentioned earlier. I have a feeling it's either related to the GPU reporting incorrect values or the firmware incorrectly reporting the graphics capabilities of the phone. It's frustrating either way.
I'll post the solution if I find it.

Cannot enable muiti-user in Andriod Lollipop on Lenovo Yoga 3 8"

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 does not come with multi-user, so I've been trying to set it up so my family can actually share the tablet without kid-adult conflicts. I'm running Android 5.1.1
As suggested in a number of forums, I've rooted the device and modified build.prop to include:
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=8
The two lines of code are in the build.prop file after rebooting the tablet and "pm get-max-users" in adb shell returns 8, so the two lines of code are in there. However, there is no multi-user icon either next to the settings on the lock screen or the swipe-down menu (next to settings icon, where I hoped it would be). So I cannot add or switch users.
I've tried manually adding users through the adb shell using "pm create-user [username]" with no luck...they may exist in the back-end somewhere, but as a tablet user I can't see them.
I've tried rebooting several times, removed screen lock, and eaten a bunch of chocolate but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be much appreciated!
same issue for S8-50 running 5.0.1. actually the profile section can be found in settings if search for 'profile' . from there the user can also be switched but that's about it - no ability to switch between users in lockscreen
I bought two tab3 10" 16GB for the kids for xmas, and they had a "Users" entry in the settings, but no user avatar in the quick settings.
It seemed pretty good, so I bought another of the 32 GB version for myself and my wife and that has neither. However, I was able to set up user accounts for us by searching for users in the settings menu, so it appears to be there. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow any sane way of switching users, since one has to be logged in as a user to do it... It cannot possibly be considered a good idea to do this, it has to be a bug...
I'd be very interested in a solution to this problem too.
any findings an that so far? How to "search for 'profile'" Am on tab 2 a8-50f, with mentioned changed in build.prop but no options in settings
It is actually as simple as kjekje suggests.
Open the settings tab. Instead of scrolling up and down and looking in every submenu for a "users" section like i did, just click the magnifying glass icon and search for "users". Seems like Lenovo have just hidden it from the menu.
Further broken in 6.0.1
I just upgraded the tablet to 6.0.1 yesterday, as it was pushed by the usual channels. Figured it couldn't make it any worse. It did
Now, if I search for users, I can switch to a restricted user, but I cannot switch back, because there's no option for it when I search for it in restricted mode.
So, I would still be very interested in a better solution to this problem? The only good solution is to be able to switch users when the screen is locked. Anybody found anything by further digging?
I don't know why on earth Lenovo is doing this to us. Perhaps they figure we will buy another tablet if there's no multiuser...? But it surely won't be a Lenovo, they ought to understand that.

Help?: LG Google TV G3 - "Unfortunately, VideoInputSetup has stopped"

I have a 2013 model LG Google TV G3 55GA6450 that was recently gifted to me. Whenever I try to configure it to use the built-in tuner as my video source, I encounter "Unfortunately, VideoInputSetup has stopped"
According to this G+ thread, the error has to do with Google no longer supporting the local channel / programming lineup service thus causing the app to crash, and making the TV unusable as there is no other way to enable the TV Tuner input option without the app.
I have already tried force closing the 'VideoInputSetup' app, clearing its cache, etc. Also tried were a factory reset and using a custom launcher shortcut to launch the different functions of the app. Nothing has worked so far. I am willing, (with help) to extract the app and send it along to whoever and see if they can fix. Or to help any other steps / process to fix the issue.
Optionally, if someone might be willing to help me root and/or upgrade the device to newer Android TV, that would be awesome
I'm having same ANNOYING problem! This guy says he managed to root the TV but not sure if it will help. You need to go to the article since I can't post a url

Any fix?

Negative. I was able to find a way to manually add channels to the tuner, but it is currently useless without a way to enable the tuner for Input selection.
Thanks! Could you share the manual process to add channels? Right now, I have a fancy wall paper, would at least like to watch the morning news. Thanks in advance!

This will only work if you already have the "Buil-In Tuner" option available under Inputs.
You will need an app to launch custom shortcuts, I am using QuickShortcuts. Some custom launchers can also do this.
In the shortcut app, find the Settings application under "Activities". Expand it and then scroll through the activities until you find "Manual Tuning" (com.android.settings/com.android.settings.lge.channel.ManualScanActivity) and select that and finish setting up the shortcut to it. Launch the shortcut and add the channels you want.
and is there anything that we can using inseed to do this manually? It is working but there is a bad pop up saying "no paired devices found" and I can't change channel.
Thanks
Awesome, it works! It's clunky, but I can see a few channels now. Really hope someone has a hack through a rooted approach.
Do you know if anyone are working to root the GA7900 or other GTV3?

I've tried decompiling the VideoInputSetup apk to see if I could manually change anything in the part that keeps crashing, but I wasn't able to recompile it afterwards.
And I've tried everything else I can think of as a work around for those like me with LG's that can't even see the manual tuner in the input options, but to no avail ?
Correct, the manual function for the tuner is not available. I am writing to LG every week to get this done. know it is a lost of time ...
Your inquiry has been submitted for review and we are waiting for feedback so we can communicate it with you as soon as possible. We will also be including the observation you have suggested to improve future LG products. We assure you that these are being reviewed by LG management periodically and being utilized as valuable inputs for consideration in our products and services innovations.
Sorry, I can't help much than that
After a few calls with LG support, and asking for escalation, I learned that a converter box is the workaround. I have coaxial from cable provider. The converter box should have an hdmi output. Any suggestions on which product/model works well?
After accidentally rescanning for channels, I've bricked my TV for the broadcast channels. I've tried to use Teamviewer, Remodroid, but I can't find proper instructions to connect remotely to possibly fix the problem. The exploiteers website seems promising (www exploitee.rs) but not much information for my LG GA6450...
Anyone with update root instructions or ways to get Manual Tuner to work.? I've tried the manual tuner method but no channels are showing up.
I ran into this same issue and had several frustrating calls with LG support that went nowhere. I was lucky enough to stumble on some other suggestions and found a workaround. While not perfect, I can actually use the TV again. I hope this helps others in a similar situation. Follow the steps below and do not deviate (trust me I got really close to bricking my TV figuring this out):
From settings navigate to "Applications".
Scroll over to "All" and then down to find "Live TV" and open it.
Click on "Disable".
Exit back to settings and then to "Channels" (you'll see the options are now enabled).
Auto scan for channels (or if you've already done this manually tune to a channel).
Exit back to settings and back to "Applications".
Scroll over to "All" and then down to find "Live TV" and open it.
Click on "Enable".
Turn the TV off and then back on. (You'll notice you can change the channel, but after android has finished restarting it won't let you any longer).
To get around that, use the gesture button and click on the channel bar at the top to enable to guide below. You can now scroll up and down through channels, find the one you want and open to watch.
Note - If you press the "Home" button, you will no longer be able to get back to live TV. You will have to repeat the steps (on step 5, you can just manually tune). It's extremely frustrating that LG won't release an updated firmware to simply re-enable the tuner and I'm very disappointed with the way they have handled this situation (as well as how they interact with faithful customers).

Smart Select problem in MultiWindow

Hi. I've searched far and wide for this problem and returned with no solution. I use my tab to read medical books and write notes so I open Xodo on the left and OneNote on the right in splitscreen mode (multiwindow). Whenever i use smart select (spen feature) to snip parts of a book to put in OneNote, the app says "Cant use this app in Multiwindow mode" and resets the screen to full screen leaving only one app and ruining my workflow.
I tried the force activities to be resizible in the dev options. Also tried multistar. No luck
Help please!
I have the same problem on the SM-T970 (Galaxy Tab S7+)!
Yup. same here. Tab S7 plus that I expressly purchased for this feature, and it doesn't work. Really quite disappointed about it. Just bombs out with a crappy compatibility issue. Even if there was an option to copy to clipboard without losing the split screen would be nice. Totally ruins what would otherwise be a brilliant work flow feature. My only hope is that they'll sort it out in future updates... It really can't be that hard to sort out
