So my OIS has been acting up lately. Kind of weird. Like when the camera app is open, if I move the camera, the lens seems to keep 'drifting' ever so slightly after I stop moving my hands. It comes to a complete stop after a few seconds, but its very strange. If I move my hands again, to get a new photo framed, same thing happens. The sensor seems to keep drifting maybe for a second more even after I've fully stopped.
I've wiped data from the camera app, did usual factory reset, and problem persists. I'm thinking something is wrong with the OIS motor or how the sensor is positioned within the OIS?
If LG won't honor warranty(I'm 2nd owner), I'm thinking of getting an OEM replacement camera sensor. My question: Is the OIS module inside the module that houses the camera sensor, or is it somewhere else on the device? I was looking at this replacement for example:

I'm wondering if something like that replacement part also contains the OIS module. Let me know what you guys think. I can't seem to find answers anywhere if the OIS is with the sensor or someplace else.
I only experience that drifting issue with the slow-mo recording.
Why don't you just ask LG customer service? That would have been my first move.
Honestly that's how OIS has behaved for me on my Lumia 1020, Note 4, and LG v10.
In my Redmi Note 4, I have Sony camera sensor & goodix fingerprint sensor. But I don't know about the display. Do you know who made this display??

I'm interested in getting the pressure of the touch on smartphones. As far as I know there is only the Huawei P9 Plus with built-in touch pressure sensor (press touch) which is available on the market. Other phones with built-in touch sensors are the Huawei Mate S, ZTE Axon Mini and Meizu Pro 6. Does somebody know if the Huawei P9 Plus has really a built in pressure sensor? How does it compare to e.g. the Meizu Pro 6? I would like to read out the pressure values using event.getPressure().
The touch pressure can also be inferred through the contact area. I have also read that some of the devices are just returning 1 using event.getPressure (). This is also true for Galaxy Note 4 (I have this phone).
Is there a list of smartphones which provide reasonable values for event.getPressure()?

Hi, do you still face that problem? I bought a used Mi 10 with broken screen a month ago to sell it with a better price. I launched a camera, tested main functions including all cameras and haven't experienced any problem. I guess it was one of the previous generations because after update they introduced me a new a'la iOS notification panel. I decided to update software - because why not - now it's MIUI 13, and didn't check remaining functions. After all I took the phone apart and replaced the screen. I tested everything and I got scared because of the ultrawide lens. Now I don't know if the reason was too big pressure put on the UW lens to glue the screen, I put extra soft layers on screen and a battery cover to properly distribute weight (I already repaired a few phones and none of them got damaged in any way) taking care about a cameras' island.
Also I bought another cameras' island and unfortunately there's no difference.
I'll try to downgrade the OS to the oldest version and let you know about the result.
Always you can successfully access the stock camera by 3D touch on main screen and select among a few modes: Pro, Photo and Video
I believe that the screen fingerprint unlock system of my S23 ultra is a bit worse than the one on my S22 ultra. Although the fingerprint area is larger in S23 ultra than its predecessor, I ended up with many missed tries of screen unlocking. My s23 ultra is 918B , SEK csc (from initial EUX). It is very early to having results but if anyone has something to say , it would be welcomed.

I don't see a big difference. My recommendation would be to register a second time your fingerprint (as a 2nd fingerprint, not registering it over the original one you performed) with slight different positioning over your scanner, it might help.
Mine seems a lot less accurate than S21U. I rarely ever had to retry unless my hands were dirty, but with the S23U I am failing many times a day.
Compared to my Note 9's dedicated fingerprint sensor on the underneath (my previous phone) it's a flat-out fail, both in terms of accuracy as well as ergonomics
Is it Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor Gen 2? i saw a video that show the same size and Qualcomm said it was bigger.
Definitely seems fastest of the 3 other devices i've had recently the chance to use recently
Oppo Find X5 Pro - optical but has had a reasonable error rate in my experience (my daily phone since March 2022 replaced by S23U)
Google Pixel 6a - optical and really terrible until latest update (my daily work phone)
OnePlus 9 Pro - optical worked fine (partners phone)
S21-23 all have the same sensor 3D Gen 2.
I was hoping for the 3D Max on the S23.
The one on the s23 Ultra is terrible in comparison ot the one on my OnePlus 8T.

Terrible in comparison of my Oneplus, but not the same tech.
I registered 4 time my thumb to have more accurate reading, and even that , success rate is about 80% and it's not instant.
face recognition simply does not work, no matter how much I add picture.
Once again, Oneplus was instant, even under weird angle.
The fingerprint unlock in my S23U works better than my S22U and is much faster, people blames fingerprint and face detection when in most of the cases are user error, for fingerprint you need to consider two conditions of the finger: normal and dry and you should add the fingerprint for both conditions, for face detection you should add and alternative picture for improved detection and it works best in good light.
Both face detection in good light and fingerprint are working well, if its not, check what you are doing wrong otherwise you have a lemon.
I believe the S23U is the best phone Samsung made till now in all of the series and I made a correct choice upgrading from my older stutter phone S22U (Snapdragon).

I guess it work for samsung users since they are use to.
Face recognition works, but 10% of the time with good lightning and orientation.
Even MKBH mentioned that OnePlus face recognition was not only stupidly effective, but also secure. Sometime the phone is on the table and get you face.
I have a twin brother and it don't work on him.
So yeah, when you touch Oneplus magic, we are hard on a more expensive phone that are weaker on some aspect.

The one on the 8T is optical. The one Samsung uses is ultrasonic. Different tech and different results. For OnePlus devices the screen must be lit for the sensor to work. No so on Samsung.

I don't know who MKBH is and if it's a Youtuber is just a paid budy, that's it. If you get that number of 10% you have a lemon and you should send it to repair. My only experience with Oneplus are their Oneplus Buds Pro, bad quality, enough for not buying nothing from than brand anymore. I'm not pro Samsung because I don't have stock in that company, I use the phone for working and this version is working fine, this didn't happen to me with the other older Galaxy versions where I ever found an issue.
I wish it was like this.
