Question Phone app won't switch to speaker or Bluetooth device... - Asus Zenfone 9

Anyone else having this problem? I'm on Android 13 and neither the native or Google phone app will let me switch to speaker or Bluetooth in a phone call.

No problem here, phone let me switch between speaker and Bluetooth in call or when listening music.
Did you try to re-pair your Bluetooth speaker ? Or simply reset the network/bt settings (via system -> reset options)

It won't work with several different Bluetooth devices. I don't think it's a Bluetooth issue because switching to speaker doesn't work either.
A network settings reset fixed it. That's a first.

vmx 100 bluetooth headset problems

I have a Sennheiser VMX 100 bluetooth headset and paired it to my htc dream. When the headset is already connected to my phone and a call comes in, it's automatically transferred to my headset, which is great. But when I try to make a call myself, I just can't get it transferred to my headset. I tried to press Menu during the call, and selecting bluetooth from the menu but that doesn't do anything.
Also, when a call comes in but my headset is not connected (phone has bluetooth turned on, though), and I turn on my headset, the phone won't connect to my headset until after the call has been finished.
Besides my HTC dream I also have a Nokia N95. My headset works without any problem on the nokia, I can even connect my headset in the middle of the conversation and it will automatically take over.
I'm not sure what features android has when it comes to bluetooth headsets, but I assume that outgoing calls and auto-connect during a call are implemented features. I'm running Android 1.6.
Does anyone else recognize these issues? Do these features work with other headsets?
Thanks,
Pepe
Try the following steps:
1. Menu > Settings > Wireless controls > Bluetooth Settings
2. Under Bluetooth devices select and hold your Sennheiser; 3 choices will show up (Disconnect, Disconnect & Unpair, Options)
3. Select Options
4. Connect (if unchecked)
5. Under Profiles make sure Phone (connected to phone audio) is checked
Let me know if this helps
Hi mate,
Thanks for the reply. I checked those settings and Phone audio is already checked. Unchecking and rechecking the box does not make a difference.
Thanks
What ROM are you running?
VMX 100 Issues
I'm having the same issue. I'm running CyanogenMod 4.2.9.1. I have several Plantronics that work flawlessly. Any ideas would be appreciated. I've tried power cycling both devices.

[Q] Bluetooth Media Audio defaults to On

I want to use the bluetooth phone connection in my VW Golf, but not the media audio connection. I untick the Media Audio option under Bluetooth settings -> long press VWPHONE, but it always defaults back to being ticked the next time it connects. This is annoying because the phone routes the sat nav directions (CoPilot and Google Nav) over the Bluetooth audio connection, and sometimes auto starts the last media file on the phone.
Is there a way to force the phone not to default back to being ticked? Or turn off Bluetooth Audio for all connections (I never use this feature)?

I have a VW golf too with bluetooth on my phone and I am using it for playing song and answers my phone. But not for navigation...
I'am not sure of what your question is... Can you clarify?

My issue is that the sat nav verbal instructions are routed over the bluetooth media audio connection. As I'm not using that function on the car stereo it means I don't hear them. If I turn off media audio in bluetooth settings the nav instructions are routed to the phone speaker and so I hear them, and calls are routed to the car stereo. Problem is next time I get into the car the bluetooth media audio defaults to on, so I have to turn it off everytime I get in the car. I'd prefer it to remember the setting, or just turn off bluetooth media audio completely as I don't use it.
Sounds like you have the same issue that I have with a 2010 Seat Ibiza FR. I've noticed that the kit effectively pairs twice with my Atrix, first as a headset then as a media capable device. This approach means that the phone bluetooth setting will never be retained.
I've raised the issue with Seat UK who frankly aren't interested, and have yet to find any way of blocking the 2nd connection from the phone side.
I'd be very interested in any resolution / workaround you can find; this drives me nuts too...

Bluetooth - Permanently disable Media Audio?

Did some searching, and didn't find an answer/solution to my problem: Every time I connect my Bluetooth headset to my phone, it enables Media Audio, even though I repeatedly disable it in the settings. Has anyone found a way to permanently disable Media Audio? I don't want anything but phone calls routed to the headset. As a matter of fact, when it's connected (and Media Audio is enabled) all notifications and ringtones are routed to the headset, so if I'm not wearing the headset (and I'm not right next to my phone) I don't hear it ring. Once Media Audio is disabled, it rings from the phone.
I use the "Autostarts" app. You should be able to disable that using it.

that's weird. Even if I have media going through the BT, the phone rings/notifications come through both the phone speaker and the headset.

If you have it, can you tell me if it's possible to disable it using the app? Even though it's only $1.50 for the app, I'm not keen on spending the money for it, if it won't fix my problem.

Mine behaved normally up until recently. Now, Media Audio must be unchecked for rings and notifications to sound from the handset.

Nope. I even installed Autostarts (as previously suggested) and have had no luck in changing the behavior.

Bluetooth call volume low in car.

I cant seem to turn up the in call volume past 15, it always reverts back. I was able to fix it once by unpairing it then re-pairing, but that only lasted until I reconnected. Had the same issue with my S8.
My equalizer in the settings is set to normal.
Headunit: DDX774BH
No other devices connected to phone or headunit.
If this is a bluetooth connection,
From settings, do a search for bluetooth.
Try changing the Disable Absolute Volume option
also, from the Settings, bluetooth, 3dots, try changing the Media volume sync option
Ugh, same problem for me with a Kenwood HU. No solution yet, including the one mentioned above.

Question Bluetooth audio in car

After a successful bluetooth connection (Audi Q8), the call sound is not from the car by default, but I always have to manually switch it to blueooth in call settings on ZF9. Even if I select the bluetooth sound on the phone during the first call, I have to do it again during the next phone call. It also happens when I make a call through the car display.
I tried pairing again several times, changing the bluetooth name of the phone and car, unsuccessfully. The problem persists and it is quite bad.
Does anyone have a similar issue? Or an idea for a solution?
Thx
