I am here to just warn you of who ever owns a roxfit case, for those who have not stick it on to their phone you might want to reconsider before doing so. And for those who have it on already you might want to reconsider as well.
I bought this case like a month ago and used it for a month. Yes it is a good case "full protection" but when i tried to take it off today i realized the following:
1- it is a PAIN in the ____ to take it off, I am not even kidding. You might think why would you want to take it off? cause one day you want to clean up the dust, take out the sim card, or maybe switch case. I nearly had to break the top left corner, that little thin strand infront of the power button, and find something to stick into the top right.
Yes, i know it might not be the right way to take it off, but I have done some research and it seems like no one knows what is the "proper way" to take it off.
ANYWAY to get to the worst part
2- you know the inside of the case it has the black rectangle thingy with white words on it saying "roxfit?" Well, when i took off the case, i realized a bunch of little tiny black/grey dots on the back of my phone. No, I cannot rub it off, and i also tried erasing it off (which is not a good idea, cause it does rub off the anti-coating and causes it to look shiny which was described in another thread)
I know its just the back cover, but still...
Not trying to complain or anything, just keep your eyes open when choosing your case

I've have 2 of their products for my S, I have the hard shell, which I broke trying to take it off, those little this bits near the switches are a pain and a weak spot. This case had a thin felt patch inside to stop it rubbing the back of my S.
I also have the leather flip over case , i've had to stop using this because unlike the hard shell there is no felt patch inside to stop it rubbing , now I have marks on the back of my phone.
For the money I paid for these items, you'd think a bit more thought would go into the design...
I know, matte coating is not a cool thing, it just feels nice.
i dont know about your XPS but on mine the front bottom part where it says "xperia" that part is also glossy shiny, obviously that part's anti coating is rubbing off just by putting in my pockets.
this is what i am planning to do instead of making the same mistakes again.
the best thing to do is to get the zagg full body kit and protect the [ top, bottom, and the "xperia part" on the front ] and then get a case that only covers the sides and the back.
I had a roxfit and never had such problems.

Thanks for the warning. In the case thread there was someone saying something about the shell feeling loose. (maybe it was you, dont remember).
I guess thats what you get with a hard shell that covers the phone's back and sides completely unless it was made of two parts or from soft material like TPU. I thought of buying this on long time ago because none of the TPU cases had a good fitt (and the buttons still usable).
I never did buy this one, but thougt about it since it's for me the best next to my TPU preference. I'm using a (little reshaped with hot water) 'Nillkin' TPU case at the moment. I also have a 'Gimmick Five' hard case, but i don't like the edges (like almost all hard cases) , its not smooth when putting it in and getting it out of my pocket for a phone with this size. I also do't think those cases offer much protection.

and remember this skin is only for scratches not fall damage duh (cases/covers/shells might help a little with low height falls)

Can you give us some more info? how is the fit? is it easy to take out? do you have any little scratches of the coating on the edges?
@LitoNi The case is a little flexible, maybe it has also to do with how someone tries to pull of the case?
I took my case many times off. Yeah it's not easy, that's for sure but I can't confirm your other complaints.
My phone slipped once out of my hand and landed on hard ground. I just have a few scratches on the top right corner and bottom left corner.
without the case the damage would have been probably much worse.
The case also was damaged in the bottom.
Currently I'm waiting for my nillkin flip leather case. Hope it will protect the front as well now.
Edit: that is now a little embarrassing. I actually have a krusell case, but the should be the same
I have the roxfit hard shell as well. It fits perfectly and doesn't feel loose at all. As for taking it off, well yeah it's a snug fit, so taking it off requires a bit of fiddling. But it is definitely not impossible to take it off without breaking it. Then again you shouldn't have to take it off daily, so for me it's not a problem.I usually just push the bottom corners of the case down, then you can stick your nail through the hole on the bottom and just push the phone out completely. Not that hard to do.
Also mine does not leave any traces on the phone. I'm pretty happy with this case.

anyway i changed the title so it wont be directly talking about roxfit, but cases in general
taking it out is slightly a pain in the ass... you need to flick it out from the powet button corner follow by volume side... one you flick it past both the 2 buttons, the rest is a breeze...
no there's no stain on the phone....

i start with the left side and bottom, then top side and last the right side. works everytime
Let me add that there is also a slider shell case: Incipio EDGE Hard Shell Slider Case

Not later than 5 mins, my phone fell flat back from three feet. And its okay. No problems yet.

Ive droped it about 5 times now, the first without the case on and all it did was chip some chrome off but ill replace middle housing when it comes to selling so no panic there the other 4 times were onto concrete screen down in a thin side case, and not a scratch yet
I dropped my mega a few times with no problem ,once I accidentally caught my headphone cord with my hand then it went flying to the ground like a sling shot and survived. A few days ago though, I dropped it face down on bitumen and the screen cracked from the top corner going down towards the middle. It was still functional straight after, but about half an hour later I couldn't swipe to unlock it. It was a rainy day so I'm thinking maybe water seeped in and stopped it working? Either way I think it's a write off
The cover I had covered the corners and sides, but had openings for the front top and bottom portions. I think if I had a cover that covered all sides completely it may of survived.
I think it all comes down to luck and how the phone lands, if you have a cover and it hits a corner that is protected it should survive.

I got an official S-view cover from ATT store (Black) for my new note 3. I love it except for one major problem. When I fold the cover open around the back and set it down on something like a desk or table. Eventually the phone will sit completely flat against the cover and I am noticing that the cover will engage S-view mode on the phone while it it folded around the back of the phone. This is super annoying, because when its in S-View mode the phone is essentially locked and I can't do anything with it unless I un-fold the cover from around the back. I thought maybe I had a bad cover with super strong magnets or something so I returned it to ATT and bought another one from T-Mobile (This was the advice I got from Samsung support). I having the exact same problem with this one. Now I think its my phone. I can replicate this problem anytime by simply putting pressure on phone the and cover while it is folded around the back. When I hold the phone in my hand with the cover around the back it is not as prevalent because phone usually is not sitting completely flat to the cover (because the cover is still new). Once it breaks in and gets flimsy this will happen all the time completely limiting phone functional while the cover is around the back. I had the an S-View cover on a S4 and it never had this problem. Can any of you guys replicate this issue or do I have a bad phone. Please help, I need to know if I need to exchange my phone. I've got the same problem here. It seems to be an issue of either the little magnet on the bottom of the cover being too strong or the sensor on the phone being too sensitive. Definitely annoying and poorly designed. I don't know of any solution. I just wedge my finger behind the cover to prevent it from tripping, but that's hardly a solution.
Can't help you with this issue.. but I got bought two knock-offs on the web and never experience anything like that. Probably the way it's built with the OEM case.
I have the same problem with my sview case for note 3.
Interesting issue. I have the wireless charging s-view case and I can confirm that this dos not happen with it. I guess that is due to the thicker back cover portion.
Ok, firstly I'll admit that I suffer from a certain level of OCD when it comes to phones. I ordered a GPE last week and was very impressed with the phone. The size is a bit large, but everything else, except for the camera, is phenomenal with this phone.
However, about one week after I got the phone, I noticed what can best be described as a smudge on the front lower right corner, about the radius of a quarter. Granted, since it is at the corner, the total size would be a quarter of a quarter. Anyway, it is usually hard to see it unless you run your finger over the area, whereby the spot becomes clearly visible. I don't know if it is a scratch on the screen protector, but I can't feel any texture and light doesn't seem to show any micro abrasions. It almost seems to be under the screen protector.
Anyway, the unit also had a weird creak on the back of the phone (pressing it in an area would make the phone creak), so I asked for a replacement unit. I got it yesterday and what do you know, the smudge is there on the new unit, too! So my question to other Z Ultra owners is whether this is a common thing and secondly, whether it is an issue with the screen protector only, not some damage to the screen.
The best way I can describe it is as if someone applied pressure on the corner leaving a mark. Again, it is really hard to see if the screen is clean, but becomes easily visible if you smudge the corner with your finger - a clearly visible quarter-circle will become visible if your phone is like mine. Thanks for your help. BTW, I'm going to keep my phone unless it turns out that the smudge is some kind of pressure damage.
The anti finger print coating wears off real fast on the xzu, only way to solve this is to either remove the sony screen protector or apply another screen protector on top of it. Mine wore out in a week, and your replacement gpu is most likely a used defective unit being refurbished. The reason why the smudge is on the lower right corner is because that's the area you use most often....for scrolling and unlocking the screen, hence the wear out

I'm not so sure my replacement unit is a refurbished one. I believe Google has a policy to replace phones with new devices. Also, it is basically the exact place and shape as the smudge on my previous phone, and this unit has been used for only a bit more than 24 hours. The smudge starts at the lower right corner of the glass on the front of the device and goes as far as barely short of the actual display portion of the glass slab.
With sample of two devices, it seems to be a result of the manufacturing process because the two are so similar. Just weird. I guess if it really gets under my skin I'll try to remove the film.
I had the same thing, only in the lower left corner, but i got my screen replaced (for a different reason), and the screen protector i got on the new display is looking good. It's only the oleophobic coating that's wearing off, but i understand how that can be incredible annoying.

Believe what you want to believe. Although I'm telling you its a used device...do you really think they'll thrash all units sent back and dispatch new ones every time someone RMA their phone. Anyways, the solution have been stated out for you, choose what floats your boat

apply any screen protector on top. The sh!tty smudge will not visible any more.

I just wanted to add that I have the exact same issue. Noticed it today while going to show someone it.
I've been babying the heck out of the phone to prevent this issue, but unfortunately my screen protector and case won't show up until a few days from now.
I'm hoping applying the screen protector over it is all I need to do.
I figured I'd post in this thread in case someone else also had this issue and was unaware of this common issue.
Smudge in up left corner
Hi.Just bought this phone and when i clean the screen from fingerprints i see a smudge or mark or whatever its called about 1 x 1 cm in the left up corner.Is it normal?
If you look carefully it seems to be from inside and it doesnt leave.You can see it better only when you pass over it with a towel while cleaning the screen.
Is it something with antistutter film?Warranty covers it?

I found a solution. I returned the phone back to the shop i bought it, i took back my money and i just ordered it from another shop.

Okay, story time. Some time ago, the battery in my Z5c swelled up and pushed the battery cover off the back of the phone. I replace the battery myself, & also order new (supposedly OEM) adhesive for the back glass. It does NOT stick on well, popping off one side or the other every few minutes. After fighting it for a while (ordering additional replacement adhesive and trying to re-clean and re-apply it a couple more times), it seems to finally stay in place.
Fast-forward a few months. I see the back glass coming off again. Oh, great, here we go again. I peel it off, and find that the replacement battery is a *little* inflated. Not by much, and not nearly as much as the original battery, but even though it seems to barely be a problem, it's also clear that the battery cover is not skin-tight as it was when it went in. Perhaps it was "enough" that given the tolerances inside, it still managed to push the back glass off. Okay, fine: I bought 2 replacement batteries at the time, so I'll put the other one in.
Fast-forward another few months to a couple of weeks ago. SAME BLASTED THING. Battery barely inflated, back cover coming off, but not really 100% clear whether the battery *really* is the culprit, or whether this adhesive I keep buying is just crap, or if I'm not applying it correctly.
Well, this time I'm running into the same problem trying to re-apply it that I did the first time around: it simply Will. Not. Stay. Put. I've tried the usual tricks I have read about: namely, making sure everything is squeaky-clean, and warming up the adhesive before pressing the back glass onto the phone, and then giving it a little time to cure with something heavy on top of the phone (if I had some clamps, I might try to use those instead). It helps for a couple of hours, but then the back cover just comes RIGHT off again.
Here is my hypothesis: either my phone's chassis is was not quite up to manufacturing standards, or I keep re-assembling it wrong, or something along those lines, because the battery sticks up slightly above the surrounding black frame. And what I can see when the back first starts coming off is that it is slightly "bowing" a bit...the top and bottom are sunk slightly below the plastic frame, but the middle bows out to the point where it rises slightly ABOVE the plastic frame. It's as if either the battery is sitting too high inside the phone, or the frame around the battery is sitting too low.
I have tried taking it all apart again and putting it all back together, but no dice.
Has anybody ever experienced anything like this? It's super frustrating. It seems clearly like a design defect. I just wish I could understand how things are different right now vs. when it was originally assembled at the factory.
Right now I'm sitting here seriously thinking that maybe the answer to this is to layer TWO back adhesive stickers on top of each other, in order to raise the edges of the glass back up enough above the battery that the back won't bow out anymore...

...oh, also: and are genuine Sony batteries REALLY this crap in terms of quality?? If so, they should be ashamed and should have recalled many of these phones. I have yet to run into a genuine Sony Z5c battery that doesn't have at least a small build-up of gases within the battery pack after a few short months of use. I have been shying away from third-party batteries by no-name companies, but at this point I'm thinking that those could only be worse if they managed to spontaneously burst into flames.
In case anybody else who is struggling with the same thing ever ends up stumbling across this in the future, I seem to have finally managed to successfully tackle this problem. I finally got more pre-cut adhesive in, and yes: at least in my case, stacking two of them on top of each other has done the trick. (It's not easy lining them up in order to apply them to each other, either...I can tell you that much.)
I don't know if maybe all the adhesive that is out on the market is not "genuine" Sony and so not built to the same spec (maybe the genuine article is much thicker?), or if my particular phone's manufacturing tolerances are just outside the norm (either the battery is sticking up farther than it should, or the edges of the frame are sunk in further than they should be), or what. But using 2 stacked on top of each other instead of 1 seems to be the perfect thickness, allowing for the back glass to remain flush with the plastic frame's edges while also remaining perfectly flat.
I can tell you that at least on my phone, this is still not enough to ensure a tight water seal (pressure sensor doesn't change with increasing outside pressure). But it's hard to know if that's due to the way the back is applied, or some other issue elsewhere that's entirely unrelated.
ARGH. Nope. It lasted a lot longer than previous attempts, but now the upper-left corner, where the camera lens is, is already starting to lift off again.
This is *such* a stupid design.
Try using B7000 industrial glue from Aliexpress or other vendors, it can still be unglued by heat if repairs are needed, but should stay glued better and longer then these precut adhesives which are low in quality...
Thanks for your thread. I can feel your frustration! I'm having problems with the flash LED making weird green shadows in photos (like here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/camera-flash-bleed.3368004/) I was thinking about opening the back cover to try and fix this and maybe install a new battery and a new camera lens while I'm at it. But now I'm afraid to open it up. I am pretty sure that a this point all "original" replacement parts that are available are fake. Should I ever find the courage: Is the back cover and camera lens made from one piece or must they be replaced separately?
Try to get the OEM adhesive strips and battery.
3m makes all sorts of industrial double sided strips. Get the right thickness if you go that route.
