I have not found a rom than has a working camera and can play video with Newpipe even at low resolution (I have not installed gapps).

The following setup has a working camera and is capable of playing videos (I use Newpipe):
1) GT-S5310+StockROM (flashed with Odin3 v3.10)
2) CWM-based Recovery v6.0.4.9 (flashed with Odin3 v3.10)
3) cm-13.0-20161223-UNOFFICIAL-corsica (installed with CWM recovery after Wipe Cache&Dalvic)
At this point it was not playing videos, so I flashed Slim through recovery after wipe cache again.
4) Slim-corsica-5.1.1.beta.0.9-UNOFFICIAL-20151208-0401
5) open_gapps-arm-5.1-pico-20220215
Apps I'm using: Newpipe, Macrodroid, Google Drive, Amaze file manager, F-Droid and Aurora store.
The setup was much faster before installing gapps. If you don't need Google services, don't install them.
I can confirm Carbon ROM hasa working camera and plays video through Newpipe in 144p WEBM.

I am going to install a custom rom on my smartphone (xiaomi.eu)
The rom maker offers two sites for downloading the rom: sourceforge.net and Android file host
From what I hear sourceforge.net planted adware in files before it was bought my a new company, now looks clean.
Android file host on the other hand on interview said they will never edit or change the files the developers upload.
On the other hand their site looks filled with ads and even some that kind of resemble download buttons.
Which is more reliable site to download and flash custom roms you believe?
Sourceforge or Android file host?

Having flashed roms for a long time, AFH is a reliable source for custom roms. Most developers host their files on AFH. It's better to read extensively the device forum and follow the steps provided for individual roms. Sourceforge is a general software hosting website and you better avoid it for custom roms.

I tested each of Andi's latest builds for my P5113 (espressowifi) tablet with LineageOS, Slim and OmniROM (Android 6.0.1 and 7.1.2) and I am very happy to report that all of Andi's builds now support my Desktop Dock (EDD-D100BE).
So, if you have another variant of this tablet or a similar charging dock and would like to use it with one of the custom ROM builds (listed here), I recommend you give it a try.

Now with the 4.0.4 version I can't install applications or browse the internet. Maybe it was already answered, but all the links of the old ROMs I found here were down. Can you help me?

so, i'm trying it now, and it keeps saying, "this package is for 'p4wifi' devices: this is a 'p7510'" and i tried all the p4 options and i get the same thing. so i guess this doesn't work anymore.
Android 8.0 is here. You need to flash 'twrp bigsys' before flashing the rom.

Well I guess you can also use it as a pdf reader to read some books, if the pdf reader apps actually work (try various ones).
Old gcam doesn't seems to work in android 11 (pixel experience rom) . Anyone can help ?

Dear forum members, i have a GT-P7511 (10.1n, WiFi) around and would like to try CM.
But i doesn't found the proper wiki page for setting it up, I searched for several files and the download link are no longer available, considering that the posts date back to 2014/2015.
I am very thankfully if someone can please assist me and point me in the right direction, I would like to understand if there is the possibility to update the android version, considering that the current 4.0.4 no longer makes use of the google play store and therefore not even youtube, a function that was used by my daughter.
Thank you so much in advance, I hope to be able to solve it, after days and days of research I am losing hope and to be able to give new life to the tablet to be able to give it to my little daughter.
The Gtab 7511 is the German Version of the 7510.
The latest AOSP is created by decatf V 7.1.2 of 2019..
This works for me very stable, for better performance you have to OC the CPU to max .1400 MHz. and with out gapps.( use third party apps)

I downloaded this package, for the rest I am completely clueless, I would like to understand how to orient myself to install the CM, in the past I had used Odin on other devices, I have not tried these things for many years.

You have to use Odin to flash the TWRP, if TWRP successfully installed you have to boot into Recovery , wipe factory reset ,than wipe system ,cache, data and ( data media if you a ext.sdcard where you have downloaded the ROM )
Search on youtube how to install TWRP and LOS on Galaxy Tab gt-p7510
Than you can follow the steps.
