How To Guide [CLOSED][Guide] Bootloader unlock for US Xperia 1 IV - Sony Xperia 1 IV

Sharing this here as I’m sure many people have been waiting for something like this.
This guide will allow you to unlock the bootloader on your US mmWave variant Xperia 1 IV (XQ-CT62).
This is using the new qunlock tool from Infinity Box. You need to buy a token from a reseller.
I used this reseller and it took a few days to get the email. https://***/server/Sony-Xperia-Cable-Unlock--FRP-Removal--0-Counter-Supported--qUnlock-S1-Unlock-Tool?pid=3
Another Xperia 1 IV owner used this reseller and got his token immediately, link here: https://***/resellerpricing/server
Download the tool (qUnlockTool.7z) from infinitybox here: https://***/00/pub.php?dir=software/other/qUnlockTool
Archive pw is 1111
Mod. edit: links removed. alecxs
Run the tool, turn phone off. Click “sim unlock”, after putting in your token. Then, hold the volume down key on your phone while plugging it in to a usb port until the notification LED turns green and the tool recognizes it. Make sure you have the drivers installed from the archive before trying.
If successful it will say “calculating”, will generate the unlock for you server side, then write to the TA partition and flip the bootloader unlock flag to true.
When complete, unplug and boot into android. You will see “bootloader unlockable = true” in the service menu. Enable OEM unlocking in developer settings, then reboot to fastboot using ADB or by holding volume snd plugging in to USB with the device off.
Follow the instructions for unlocking the bootloader on Sony’s website: select Xperia 1 IV, and generate the unlock code. Paste the unlock code into fastboot, then do fastboot oem unlock.
You do lose widevine L1 and you also lose the TEE key, so only basic attestation is working, as expected and as was the case with the Xperia 1 III as well.
Relocking the bootloader will restore the keys.

So first off, this worked. Thank you so much!
2nd of all traditionally talking about that particular tool (because it is paid) is frowned on this forum. Might have to sanitize the post a little!

Hello @xian1243,
I've closed the thread and removed the hyperlinks to paid services according to our forum rules #7, #11, #13.

How to get bootloader unlock code instantly

I was very sad that even waiting 2 weeks i couldn't get the unlock code from huawai website.
Thanks to @inside!out for helping me with the following way to get the bootloader fast unlocked:
There is a small software called dc-unlock: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/
With dc-unlock there is no need to wait two weeks (or more?!)
Just download dc-unlock software and purchase 4 points for unlocking bootloader instantly on the website. ( There are a lot ways to purchase - don't worry)
Install HiSuite on PC and connect phone with pc.
In phone software you need to enable debugging and then in dialer
- dial *#*#2846579#*#*
- background settings
- usb port settings
- choose manufacture mode
Then in dc-unlock software choose huawei phones and auto detect.
Now search device, if found enter on right side under server settings the username and password you get per email when purchasing 4 points from dc-unlock website.
Then in unlocking on right side DON'T choose unlock phone! Choose "read bootloader"!
That's the code you need for Multi-Tool to unlock successful.
Good luck!
OHH NOOOO... NO NEW TREAD ABOUT "DC-UNLOCKER"!
There are enough treads about "dc-unlocker" here in the forum!
please use the search engine!

Unlocking Bootloader

Hello, yesterday I got my xperia x to get on Sailfish OS, but it turns out Bootloader unlocking is not allowed on this device. Is there anything I can do, flashing a certain firmware, or anything to get the bootloader to unlock? I am of course getting the "command not allowed" fastboot error, and I've enabled OEM unlocking in dev settings.
Check your fastboot/flashmode drivers.
I did, they seem fine. I followed the instructions that jolla provided. I even tried a different USB port. I'd really like to avoid returning it if it's possible.
Are you sure that bootloader unlocking is not allowed? If that's the case, then you can't do anything but return it. Try not to buy carrier specific devices for bootloader unlocking.
I have Sony Xperia X (F5121) bootloader current unlocked and I followed this Article.
https://www.getdroidtips.com/unlock-bootloader-sony-xperia-x-f5121f5122/
Why not go straight to the source, the Sony unlock bootloader page? Fill in the required info and if they send you the unlock code your good to go and follow the directions on the page, if they don't then you know it can't be in theory...

[ANE-LX1] OEM Unlocking

I bought ANE-LX1 (P20 Lite) on June 2018 and immediately unlocked the OEM from the developer options (automatic factory reset was done then), but i never rooted or installed custom rom, recovery...etc.
All updates was normally arriving and i was updating my phone regularly (current build is: ANE-LX1 8.0.0.170(C185)).
I decided to root my device using fastboot, but when the device is in recovery mode i can see:
Code:
Phone Locked -- (in green font color)
FRP Unlock -- (in red font color)
When i try to flash using fastboot i got:
Code:
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
While searching online i found that Huawei decided to lock bootloader for all users (so we buy their hardware which contains an opensource software and then they lock it... PERFECT!), and it seems that the only way now is to get the unlock code by contacting third-party codes providers, pay money and they guarantee to provide the correct unlock code (pay and pray) + I will have to expose my device information.
My questions are:
-How can i see in the developer options that my OEM is already unlocked, while the recovery is not convinced?
-Do i really have to unlock it again with the code "after purchasing it ofcourse -- which i will never do" (e.g. using fastboot)?
-Is there any solution from xda experts for my case rather than buying codes and exposing my device information or stay with a Locked bootloader?

Thanks in advance for your kind support.
and Thanks Huawei for putting us as a development community in this situation, where we have to pay for the black markets to unlock our own phones in an unofficial way.

IMEI, product S/N (if i correctly understood the process, i have to provide my device info so they can extract the bootloader unlock key)
According to the information that's available, the code used to unlock the bootloader is unlocked in a very complicated way and it's basically unique for everyone. Now, I don't know how much this is true and how and why these people got their hands on the "method" of creating the code, but no one has been able to find a way that's guaranteed to work or even work at all, except for, of course, these sites that make you pay for it. I hope I'm not mistaken and forgive me if I am, but I don't think there is any way to obtain the bootloader code manually or without exposing your information to random strangers on the internet.
Need to unlock bootloader with dc unlocker to get unique unlock code. Look guide bootloader unlocking

[GUIDE][NOKIA]Unlocking Bootloader

To unlock bootloader of several Nokia android devices you need to be on Security Patch prior to August 2018 and you need a Unique Unlock Key for your device.

This part is what I don't understand. How is it possible to downgrade a bootloader locked device from android 10 to Oreo without a signed android Oreo image that is accepted by the device?
There are only two options to get your phone downgraded with locked bootloader, first is Nokia Service Center and second is the websites that I've mentioned in the 1st post they'll downgrade your phone and provide you the unlock service.

What exactly flashing unlock_critical does that flashing unlock doesn't do?

isn't firmwarte DRG-237-WW.nb0 a signed firmware perfect for downgrading (with OST tool or SUT tool) ?
real question, i just bought a TA-1116 yesterday
If the image is signed, it can be flashed. They might have obtained signed firmware image from the employee in service center.

How to unlock bootloader without PC Nokia 6.1 plus
Techmesto released the tutorial to unlock the bootloader for some Nokia phones (including Nokia 6.1 plus) on june 21, 2021. Here is the link https://www.techmesto.com/guide-unlock-bootloader-nokia-android-phones/ (You must have a Windows machine)
I used it to unlock mine. It works
EDIT: It works. The timezone is EST as per my digging. I was able to unlock it for free.
Leaving below comment for historical reasons:
Their unlock works, apparently, 15 times a day, and the timezone is not mentioned. It is obviously an advertisement for their paid service.
From their website:
The OTP is valid for 15 minutes from generation.
Only 15 devices will be supported for unlocking in a day. After this further generation of OTPs will be disabled for the day.
Please contact us in case you have a bulk requirement.
There is no reason to believe they allow even 15 OTPs or even 1. Since they are obviously able to generate them in "bulk", I think it is best to not mention them here. Let them do their advertisement on Nokia forums.

@cubancigar11 You should first try it before dismissing it as advertisement. I used it to unlock my bootloader a few months ago.
Thanks. I was also able to unlock it after many tries. I have edited my comment to reflect this. Unfortunately there "donate" link is broken, otherwise I would have donated $5 which they quote as price.

The 7 pro and 6 are the ONLY phones I have had the experience of saying they do NOT need to be rooted..
It will record phone calls. It will come straight out the box with the least amount of bloat I ever seen. Also once Its bootunlocked I hear that some things will stop working like google pay. Its also a gamble to root cause its very new. I havent found a reason to root it.. The phone is a beast and really is super clean in and out.. I surely hope I can figure out WHY is not getting 4g and 5G on ATT
Can someone confirm if I unlock the bootloader (only to install TWRP for emergencies) will I lose OTA updates?
Because that's what I understand from the warning in the unlocked apk.
Thank you

From experience with Asus devices , you will loose Ota updates if you unlock with official tool. What happens generally is that the serial number of the device is sent to Asus servers through the tool to stop sending updates , only manually. You can unlock unofficially if there's the possibility.

My BL is unlocked and I've never received an OTA update, even after the full update has been made available via the Asus website.
I unlocked the bootloader using the unlock tool from Asus and it works (@dogoku I did lose OTA updates, but manual updates work), but now I want to relock it. I tried "fastboot oem asus-back" but it returns the error (along with any other fastboot command I tried):
FAILED (remote: 'Command not supported in default implementation')
fastboot: error: Command failed
What could be causing that error?

I don't use this device ,but from experience with asus devices , u can flash with a service/fastboot firmware and bootloader will be locked back , but you've lost ota updates for good.
What do you mean to flash with a service/fastboot firmware? Do you mean installing the firmware on Asus's support page?

If u don't know what that is ,u better relock with the file in the original post. Check "bootloader relock"
The original post to relock is a text file with the command "fastboot oem asus-back" which is what I tried (and have seen elsewhere on the internet for the Zenfone 7), but it gave the error in my first post.

Uhm, the command is actually asus-lock, I don't know where you got "back" from. So you should be putting in
"fastboot oem asus-lock"
I keep getting this error: "failed to unlock your device, please try again later".
Factory reset over and over, serial is in settings, brand new phone out of the box today. I added a google account after factory reset, nothing, I gave it Asus account after factory reset, same error.
What can I do? Should I do the firmware/software update?

For anyone reading this, wondering why there isn't a more descriptive error:
Unlocking your bootloader on this model goes against what a lot of us have learnt over the years. The general rule of thumb is never to update before unlocking, as the procedure for unlocking is specific to a certain release, and manufacturers frequently remove the ability to unlock in later releases.
Why they do this is obvious, they don't actually know what people will do with their hardware given the appropriate power to do so.
In the case of this phone, you do have to do the firmware update before the current unlock tool will work, as at the time of writing.
You don't need a Google or Asus account or any other crap.
Hope this helps someone else.

How bricked are you talking?
I answered a similar question in Q&A, the second post. That is if you can only boot into fastboot mode. but it also works if you are stuck in a bootloop or any other software issue.
If you can't even power the phone on, you will need to use a hair dryer or heat gun to remove the back and then disconnect the battery, then plug in a usb cable to see if the device still powers on. if it does unplug it and reconnect the battery. then try powering it on again.
If you unplug the battery and plug in a usb cable and it still does nothing, then it is completely bricked and probably beyond the technical expertise an average person is willing to put in to attempt to fix.
