Yes

Everyone has it. Not flaw. It's not noticeable if you don't look for it.

No, I don't have that.

Don't see it

I looked for it and not only is it not noticeable, it's not there at all.

I have it and I don't care. Certainly not enough to return it either.

Anyone else have cracks in their casing by the speaker?

K so I bought my 1st phone from expansys and had bad overheating issues. They were very nice in exchanging it for me. But now I noticed on by replacement phone there are like 6-8 spider cracks around the one side of the rear speaker. You can tell the back plate cracked from factory speaker install. Did anyone notice this on their phone? I emailed expansys again. Do u think they'd give me a hard time on getting another replacement? I hate to see the back case crack worse then it already is.

can you post a picture of the phone?
On top of that add some other issues like black screen ink marks and tell them backcover makes a sound when u click on it. That should be enough to get a refund or replacement

I do have those black ink marks, im not really worried about it at the moment. What I worry is will it worse and be visible on the months/weeks to come?
this is the best attempt i could make....i can't tell if its just the glaze that is cracked or what...but come on you pay 700 for a phone it shouldn't be like that....

[Q] screen not flush with metal

Let me start by saying I know am a bit ocd. The top of my screen is raised above the metal. Not a lot, but enough to notice every time I pull the notification bar down. Is this common with all of yours or a flaw with my unit in particular. I can feel the sharp edge of the glass when I pull down.
mine too. And there is scraping around the head phone jack hole.

It's a flaw. My top it's fine, but my bottom speaker is raised very so slightly. I don't mind the bottom, to be honest I kind of like it, it's easy for me to tell which side is witch by feel.

My screen is also raised a bit from the speaker grills, but I don't mind it. Will this hurt the phone, should I return or us it one of those personal choices?
Sent from my HTC One
My screen is very slightly raised at the top, very very slightly, and at the bottom it is lower than the spkr grille by exactly as much as it is above it at the top. I consider it to be perfect.
I have it too, it's one of those things that's probably a defect but I like. When I take it out of my pocket it's handy to be able to tell which side is the top with my thumb as I take it out.
On a side note though: I've unlocked the BT and flashed a recovery/rooted, I take it there's no way for me to return it even if I wanted to?

We have a 30 day law here, but the stupid companies have so weakened it that they can easily skirt around it.
the top of my screen is a little raised. not that big of a deal to me though. i doubt id be able to walk into an AT&T store to get a replacement since i have the 64GB version and i dont want to deal with the hassle of shipping it back to AT&T. plus i already paid for 2 years of insurance through ensquared.

Hmmm, it's an LCD panel, so it'll do that if you give it a hard press (like your PC monitor and TV), but that's not normal, no. The Ultra's panel is so-called "zero gap", which means that the glass and LCD panel are fused together making it one piece, and not two. That's how they've made it so thin. The glass is also very thin (Dragontrail), so that combination will have some consequences. BUT this doesn't look normal. You're not even tapping hard, so that looks like a defect. I get it too if I press hard, and I mean really hard.

My first Ultra was like this but in a different place on the screen. But this one I only just got it out the box and it was doing it.
Getting a bit sick of it to be honest. I love the Z Ultra but I`m wondering if I`ll get a good one!

Yeah, that's understandable. I would probably have swapped it again if it's something you notice under regular usage, or just go with a different device altogether.

One more chance to get a good one. Real shame as the Ultra is a fantastic phone. If it wasn`t under warranty I would have stripped it and investigated for myself. Still, never mind.
Would like to hear from anyone else who has had a similar problem.

I had a look at both of mine the other day, one does this on the left side of the screen if I press too hard, the other doesn't seem to do it at all. A symptom of too thin glass/ts/panel and too big?

I think so. But it shouldn`t happen. But then again, the technology was cutting edge. Maybe the Z2 Ultra won`t have these problems.
I have OCD and it really bothers me. Too picky I know but would like it right. I haven`t lost hope with Sony products at all, just think that with something cutting edge there will be flaws...

Screen issues!

Anyone else experiencing this? See attached photo. Bottom end of the screen, pretty much half way down and onwards, colours and get lighter at 0% brightness. Top of the screen is black, like an AMOLED panel should be, bottom is light with an almost green tint. Used a screen test app and can see the shift even more and also navbar burn/retention.
Not impressed.
As I ordered this on O2, via Mobile Phones Direct, who do I contact or do I go to Huawei? Only been using the device for a weekend!

Ok so on lowest brightness in a dark room the darks on xda for example is greyer bottom half of the screen. But tbh any oled I've tried struggle a bit at very low brightness on dark/grey colours. Staying that yours does look particularly bad on the bottom 3rd
I have that too in the bottom right hand side of the screen. I already spoke to Sky to get a replacement and they want me to send pictures.

I'm printing out the photos I've taken in colour and including it with me return, keeping them for my record too. They want me to factory reset the device so last thing I want is for them not to be able to replicate the issue. Unsure what tests they'll do, as it's going back to Mobile Phones Direct
That sucks mate. I've not followed screen issues on OLED devices closely across the brands...so surprised this is happening with a premo device. Hopefully there are only 1 or 2 cases for some of these major defects...as many more becomes worrying!

I know right!
Another thing, sorry for off topic is I've switched from Three to O2 (number transferred a few hours ago and now using O2 with old number) and I'm getting absolutely terrible 4g speeds. At work at the moment and signal hasn't always been the greatest on my office, but hoping when I test speed when I leave and also when I'm home that speeds are decent. Otherwise I may end up cancelling this phone and contract, and maybe I'll see about the Pixel 3 XL on a contact back with Three, or maybe I'll go sim only and get the Oneplus 6T - as the likelihood of getting root for this device is looking slim.....
Wait for 1/11, which ius the AUS release date of the phone and an extra week and see if Funky Huawei offer rooted versions of this phone. The hardware by itself is far superior...it's a same there's a lot of bugs and problems letting it down though...and then there's EMUI...

Dimple in the screen of my S10e

Didn't notice it at first, but realized I had a small ~1/16th diameter dimple in my screen. Never seen this before. You can barely feel it but its there. Doesn't affect display at all and only noticed in the right light on an angle. Straight on it looks fine. I've decided to keep it since display isn't affected, but others might me a little more anal about this sort of thing. Is this a one off anomaly or is there a QC issue? Check your screens!
S10e G-970F (exynos), ordered from never-msrp on ebay.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/223396384078
Oh man, that would be a deal breaker for me. I could never unsee that. Is there a screen protector on it that might be the issue?
Oh, hell no. Sorry. I know the E dosen't cost as much as the 10 or 10+ plus it's still a great amount of money. I can let this pass on a USED unit, not new. More power to ya, though.
Bummer! Hopefully it's just the screen protector...
Like galaxys said, it could easily be the screen protector.

False alarm- screen protector flaw. I'm sorry guys I completely forgot it came with one from factory. Took it off, dimple gone. I'm relieved, but regret posting, I don't want to spread bad info about this phone, especially since everyone's already knocking the exynos variant.
Mods if we can delete that'd be great.
