Question S23 Ultra Cream Aluminium body - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hi all,
Any suggestions for removing and avoiding micro scratches in S23 Ultra Cream color aluminium body especially in bottom area near ports, mic, speaker n around spen area. Currently using Spigen Hybrid transparent case which is well protecting 3 sides except bottom which is wide open for dust n debris to affect beautiful polish on aluminium body. Any help and expert suggestions n inputs are highly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know exactly what to do, but I'll use a microfiber cloth everyday to avoid scratches, use it before going out with the phone and when going back home, that may help a bit

Mine red and black frame just lost a piece of black paint on the speaker grid, and now you can see the metal.
So pissed about that

removing i don't know, but avoiding micro scratches you can use one of these films, they have a transparent one.

Scratches in aluminum are permanent, no restoring the color.best you csn do is as mentioned get an aforementioned whole body TPU film.
Sometimes the film will fill in existing minor scratches and make them less noticeable.

Could you share a picture please? My brother is hell bent on getting that color.

S22 series, also S21 series(if I remember correctly) come with a factory fitted thin film(several pieces) protecting the aluminum frame atleast in my region. Sad to see 23 series not having it.

Thank you. Looks exactly like what happened to my Phantom Black S21 Ultra frame near the power button. The paint just chipped off on its own (no drops in 2 years) and exposed the aluminium underneath. This was one of the biggest reasons i went for a color option with a metallic sheen on the frame this time (cream). Thank you for posting the pic.

Yaa correct. This time no film of any kind was present anywhere on the phone.

Unfortunately frames from S21 especially S22 series is very gentle (eco and recycle materials). In my fold 2 frames look good to these days after 2 years. Only few scratches but after drop on the hard floor 2x. S20 my girlfirend too looking still good with no one drops etc.
Even in touch frames Fold and S20 is hard and feel durable compare to my previous S22 and now S23.
I saw opinions about appearing scratches in S22 just from "look device" ...
So thanks for it I choose S23U blue with classic silver frames and still have original foils around this .

yeah this is the same reason I went with the Lime color since it has the sliver frame, so any nicks or paint falling off wouldn't be as noticeable.

As suggested by fellow members bought a matte finish 3m skin today n applied. Looking pretty.

Plastic around edges are not protection film that you get. They are temporary plastic films meant to be removed and not kept on. It's so when device goes through inspection and test they won't get scratches on the frame.
My s23 ultra came with this thin transparent film along the frame on each sides like how my note 20 ultra did as well.

Those pieces of films do stick really well and do a good job at protecting the frame from getting minor scratches on day to day usage. Installing or removing a case do not lift or misplace the film either. If a lanyard is used with a case, it protects that portion of the frame too. I never removed the pieces in my one year of usage of S22U/21U as I never needed to.

I'm wondering which one should i get, the screen protector or the invisible shield?
i bought brando ultraclear. Now i'm waiting
I just ordered it as well.
Looks cool and got a lot positive reviews. Should be ok than
The Brando Ultra Clear fits perfect on the Touch HD.
For me I use the Brando´s screen protectors for years and I think it´s the best you can get.
I have the Ultraclear and found it is about 1mm too short - it leaves a very small amount of fascia just below the buttons unprotected.
That said, it is better than the rubbish one that comes in the box.
If you are in the UK, they are available from Inkino from stock.
I bought mine from xpansys which is quite good, fits brilliantly & covers full screen exactly. you get two in the pack

I agree it's too small, but much better then the htc one.
im also thinking of getting that screen protector. but yall saying is doesn't fit the whole screen. is it noticeable. can you guys show a pics with the screen protector on the phone. thanks in advance.
My Brando Ultra Clear arrived in yesterday's mail from Hong Kong. Now I feel like a total idiot ... I can't get this @&%@ thing to stick down and stay on the screen. How on earth does it attach? There's no adhesive or sticky side. I've spent an hour trying to fit it to the Touch HD. Lots of bubbles - the screen looks like it has leprosy. I've washed it, cleaned it, tried everything I know.
HELP! Please!!
BTW, it has a cut-out for the light sensor, but not for the front cam (which the stock HTC one has).
is Brando's soft film?
This screen protector is 100x better than the stock one, in my opinion. Here's a picture for size reference

Are you trying to put on the actual screen protector or the piece of film that covers the protector when you open that pack? I was doing this myself for a couple of minutes, if its the top cover then its quite rubbery and green tinted, the actual screen protector is probably still stuck to the back cover of the protector still as mine was.
As for the Brando protector once it's on its a lot more impressive than the HTC one from the box, there is a very tiny gap at the bottom of the screen but less than a mm and doesn't affect useage.

Thanks for replying, KASM! No, I'm using the clear Utra Clear itself and not the bluey-green film that protects the protector. The instructions say that one should fit the protector to the device and then remove the green film. I tried that, with no success whatsoever. After fiddling for a while the clear protector had fingerprint smudges, so I washed it (without the device, as the instructions recommend ), dried it with a hairdryer (as recommended) and tried for another hour.
This is rather infuriating as I'm considered rather handy with little tech thingies ... I can't quite change a transistor on the silicon, but doing electronics is a doddle, so why the [email protected]#& is this giving me such grief...
AFW, did you try the other side of this screen-protector?
Cos normally they have that sticky surface covered by this blueish-greenish film
Although I got mine on with little fuss, I must have made a hash of cleaning the screen as it shows as lots of dust particles underneath the SP, have to do the damn thing again after cleaning it.
Determined to get it right after spending so much on a piece of plastic.

Mine arrived this afternoon BUT after a number of failed attempts to get a perfect fit I think I might need to give the screen protector a wash
Does anyone have any tips on the best way to wash the screen protector before I try to reapply it (I suspect that flinging it in the washing machine isn't considered a good move )
I am waiting for my ultra-clear, i beg on my knees somebody with a "BRANDO deployment certification" to kindly explain the process so that i avoid to put my self-confidence at stake!

But I believe that Z2 has aluminum frame and the plastic is just an "add-on" for holding components inside the devices.
I need a strong statement to prove that Z2 has aluminum frame, but I have not hand on the device so I can not give a clear conclusion.
The device in the picture is D6503.
I believe it is aluminium, it feels cold to the touch around edges
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
The frame is aluminium, just like cars have an aluminium cage to protect the structure Z2 has one.
It feels solid metal if you tap on either of the sides, top or bottom. They hid aluminium with a little too much plastic.

I've said the same, but that guy didn't believe, he's so sure that it is not aluminum/metal frame.
It's aluminum sandwiched in between polycarbonate. It's the most obvious on the corners, and on the white Z2,
It's pretty clear in this photo:
Mine is made of jam and children's tears.

He said that Z2 has plastic frame with aluminum on top.
When I went to buy my device, I had the opportunity to see the two colors, black and white. Both me and my girlfriend felt that white Z2 is plastic! When I picked up the black Z2 hands, we really feel that it looked like the Z1, ie aluminum. So far I'm thinking about it. Very strange!
Where did you get these? Do not have a pic of the front of this housing?

Isn't it very, very rare for cars to have an aluminium frame?
Why do people generally prefer aluminium frames on phones? What features does aluminium enable? I have only had problems with aluminium body vs. plastic body. A well designed fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate frame will absorb impacts superbly and it will bend back to its original shape after deforming. Aluminium frame will stay deformed and is basically ruined if you for example sit on your phone accidentally. Don't ask how I know.

If you look at the comparison.. the only plastic ones are the ones from China, and you can tell which ones are plastic because they lack the three holes at the bottom and the lanyard holes. The aluminum ones have these.
The frame is pure fibre reinforced polycarbonate however the aluminium trimmings are moulded into the plastic frame during injection process. Totally different to Z1 which has a milled and machined single block of aluminium sandwiched between two plastic bezels.
polycarbonate plus aluminium
The grey middle part of the frame is made of alumminium. And the purple/white/black edge is made of polycarbonate , one kind of plastic.
i think this depends on where you get your Z2
My freind n his GF have Z2s and his GFs one is all tempered glass and aluminum even the flaps but his one is aluminum with plastic flaps and some terible crappy glass on the back and mine is the exact same just with metal button as opposed to his plastic ones :/
I would really like to see a photo of an aluminium-frame Z2, wherever in the world that might be sold. Ideally with the flaps open. Behind the Z1's flaps one clearly sees the aluminium frame whereas the white Z2 (I bought at Sony Store in Germany) shows nothing but plastic. Another place showing the plastic core of the Z2 is the lead through in the bottom left corner. I guess this is more difficult to distinguish with the black versions.
I know that plastic does not need to be a bad thing but I'm not so fond of the Z2's finish. Rough edges, slight greyish cast here and there... definitely a step back compared to the Z1.

And a soft tpu case from Aliexpress (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...ransparent-TPU-Soft-Case-for/32668962511.html)
I also have the OEM hard plastic case that comes boxed with the device but which i don't prefer to use for fear of causing scratches on the phone.
Anyone got this Nillkin soft TPU case ? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Soft...2676408023.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.49.Fdvwl0
The soft clear case i currently have is far cheaper but not completely satisfied with its quality. It catches dust inside and there are already tiny scratches on it from day one.
Hi i have this Nillkin soft TPU Case and in two version, first is transparent clear and the second is smoke trasparent. My prefered is the smoke version that give a great look to the devices, the quality is very good, is very very thin and have two caps that protect usb and audio jack from the dust.
This tpu cover for me is the most beautiful between all the gel types.
Only drawback so if we can establish is that being so thin is a little soft on the sides , for me this is not a problem but could push through a bit dusty , but this happens to me only to my work because it is not really a clean place.
Since I put this cover I have not taken off and no scratches from many days of use.

If You have the Silver P9+ model i think that the clear cover is the best solution, I prefer the smoke version because my device have the titanium grey colour and look better with that type of cover.
I show to you below like my phone is with smoke cover, if you need also a photo with clear cover I will make it for you but I think that isn't appropriate for your device colour.
I also got the nillkin clear soft TPU case. Mine's in haze gold color. Yeah, the hard case that came with the package gets slipper over time. The Nillkin case is just right. Has a nice grip to it even after prolonged use or being held.
I had a clear carbon fiber sticker installed on the back of the phone. This was to avoid the scratches from the bundled hard case as I read some of the owners got scratch marks so yeah. It's like dbrand but a local version/provider - same 3M quality stickers (Philippines).

from my point of view it would make no sense to produce the glass with ugly black bezels if they would have completely invisible adhesive for application on the screen.
I've brought this one.
It's got huge bezels (the same as the official). If you can live with that great.
It lasted 5 minutes on mine before losing part of my screen annoyed me too much.

I'm not sure how you applied yours but I'm now into 3+ weeks with a Orzly and have had neither of the issues you mention, never did. I couldn't be more please with the Orzly protector especially at that price and still having a second one when the first eventually degrades. I used the application recommendation posted in that protectors thread. I personally could not tolerate a protector that reduced the visible screen for what ever reason.
Update: A spec of dust has gotten under the cover. Too bad as I still like the protector for its feel and protection but the spec of dust is dam annoying.

Try to find a company in Poland that provides "virtual" address in UK and after that delivers the goods in your country. I receive goods from UK in Bulgaria for only 1 EUR (when under 1 kg.) - it is very convinient.

This doesn't look very case compatible. Is anyone able to comment on this?
Very good tempered glass!
Sorry my english isnt perfect. Mine is come yesterday. I used a lot of others, but they where all disappointing in some way. (black turned into dark grey because of bad transparency and "sharp" edges) This one isnt case friendly I guess, because it protects the complete front.
+ true black colors
+ 2.5D (is quite cool for edge-smoothness)
+ easy to clean
- it isnt the thinnest glass
- makes bigger edges left/right
When you buy it make sure you buy the right one. It must be "Automatic Adsorption" version. They also sell another product where you get 2pcs of screen protectors (without automatic adsorption!).

I've got an original sandstone backcase and I think it will fit. Mine don't fit totally because it gets stretched by the skin I have on my oneplus. :/ But otherwise I think it will fit probably
Tip : amazon will give you the money back if you have problems with it and you mustn't send it back.
I just installed this tgsp and it's amazing. Very happy with it.
It's full glue. The main drawback is the bezel. But I'm used to it.
PS: it fits perfectly with the sandstone case from OnePlus

When you say the main drawback is the bezel, do you mean the bezel cuts off a small portion of the screen at the edges? Like if you were to boot into the bootloader, you can immediately see if the text is being cut off at the sides.

Yes it's exactly what I wanted to say. But you get used to it.

CrashGuard Equivalent Bumper Case

Hi there,
Looking for a bumper frame case exactly like CrashGuard from RhinoShield but couldn't find one.
There are tons of bumper frames with transparent glass on back but no chance for open back frame protection.
Searching through Aliexpress and Amazon but just can't find anything similar to that.
There are couple of metal/aliminum framed cases but don't think they are protective as plastic.
Any suggestions really appreciated!
Edit: So I couldn't find a plastic bumper case and went for the aluminium cases and found Oatsbasf. It is quite thin and open back case, and it seems it is extremely durable.
Added some screen shots below. The skin is DBrand Matrix skin for P20 Pro.

I like RhinoShield Crash Guard cases as well but if you have used them it should be obvious why they don't make that type of case for the P20. If there is no bezel on the sides of the display there is no way for a Crash Guard style case to securely grip the edges of the phone without overlapping onto the display screen. Your phone isn't going to work properly if that happens because anything that requires touch control near the edges of the display will be inaccessible. RhinoShield started making regulay style cases with backs last year because the CrashGuard cases aren't compatible with edge to edge screen phones.

Yes, you are absolutely right, and this is probably the why there is no such a case for p20 pro.
Just bought the metal bumper from Oatsbasf. It seems thin enough and can display the back of the phone so I can show off the skin.
Thanks anyway for the info.

Just got an Otterbox Clear Case for the P20 Pro from Amazon. Haven't had one of their cases for ages because they mostly just make them for Apple and Samsung phones. It's nice.--good grip and feels protective. I couldn't get into metal bumper cases--the ones I tried dug into my hands.

Yeah I also heard that issue about Oatsbasf, dunno if they upgraded it or not but strangely my phone works without any issue.
No low reception or gps. Quite happy with the case.
Does it need protection?

Hello, the case hasn't arrived but i'm concerned if it may scratch the back of the phone. Does the aluminum has direct contact with the glass on the back? I was thinking about getting a sticker like protector before using the case, do you think it is necessary?

There are some soft foams attached to its back accept the parts that wraps around the camera.
The good thing is they are also sending a skin within the package, so you don't need to buy one.
Dunno where you bought it tho, I bought from the official Aliexpress store and they sent that skin too.
P20 Pro's back glass is a fingerprint magnet, so you might want that skin because of this.
I bought a DBrand skin since it fits perfectly and quite durable, but it would probably work too with the one that they are sending.
