Yaxim is a FOSS XMPP client supporting Android 2.1+, it suppoXMPPrts: Group Chats, File Sharing, Media Sharing, 1 to 1 Chat, Push Notifications, Dark and Light theme and much more! the app is extremely lightweight (around 2 mb).

MSN Client (Mercury)
Mercury is a lightweight app patched and now provided by escargot.chat as an Android MSN Client it supports Android 1.5+ and is also a very lightweight app (1.5mb), it supports Light/Dark Theme, Multiple Accounts, Display Status, Emojies and much more!

Telegram and Whatsapp Channels - Going Forward
You may be asking, "Why was my Telegram or Whatsapp thread closed?"
Well, it's just becoming too much.
Going forward, we will only allow one Telegram chat link on a development thread by the ROM's developer and only if thorough support is still provided in the ROM thread on XDA.
All discussion channels, photography channels, whatnot channels will be strongly discouraged and removed with immediate effect. Please reference the forum rules: Quote:

Hi Guys,
I have created a Telegram Supergroup of our Device specifically for General and Development discussions and all the updates.
Used telegram because it has tons of benefits over whatsapp like cloud save chats for supergroups, file sharing limit of 4gigs, bots and even groups can expand to 10,000 members.
No need to share the phone number for joining.
