Huawei Smartphone Multi Download support - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi, is there a possible way to flash with Huawei Smartphone Multi Download?
When I reboot to edl, the drivers are working fine (I unlocked the bootloader this way). When I open the app, load in the flash file and click Scan&Download, the phone isn't being detected. I tried huawei, mediatek and qualcomm edl drivers, but I still can't get the phone to show up.
The only way for the phone to actually show up is to boot into fastboot, but you can't flash every partition with that. It just says fastboot download fail.
So is there a way to get this program to work with the phone?

UPDATE
I used IDT and it worked.
If someone wants the firmware file, it's here.
WARNING! That is some kind of testing firmware. Look up how to update a huaewi phone manually to get regular firmware.

honor 7s

this phone use mt6739.so i want to flash it the twrp to my phone.i dunno to unlock the bootloader but the twrp file not have for this device.
I just saw this post as I too have a Honor 7S
There is NO TWRP for our device.
The TWRP for the Honor 7A/7C/7X and Honor 7 doesn't work on our device and you got to pay 4 euros to unlock the bootloader before you can even flash TWRP (and there isn't one)
This Device is treble compatible but now I've found out there is zero development and no Devs Interested in it it's a complete and utter waste of time and has gone back into its box, never to be seen again.
hi there, I get this phone recently (because is old) and I created twrp for i,t so here it is, if you want some fun
you can flash it via flashtool on locked bootloader in to boot partition and after that you push twrp.img via adb to internal storage and flash it in to erecovery and recovery slot, and you are good to go

Hi I have a problem. I'm having brom issues in trying to flash it
Hi
I thinking you dont have "Authentication file" so you using "mtksecurebootdisabler",
so you need patch your drivers with libusb "patch".
Try this one, for me it works.
So open libusb that you install.
connect your honor7s to the pc with disconnected batery and hold volume down.
in patch option select your usb mtk device "idk how is called" and patch it
after patching reconnect phone and it will works.

and little hint
dont flash whole rom if the phone can boot becasue after clean flash "format+download"
you lost log and cust partition because the image files are not secureboot signed and your phone get in to bootloop
and also you lost imei codes so no cellular after that
If you do so
you can fix it in that recovery were I enabled option to format log partition
after you format log to ext4, your phone will boot but without huawei/honor bootanimation
you dont need to worry about cust partition, if you didnt format it it still boot but without bootanimation and you lost some of garbage apps that are in that partition (amazon etc...)
(twrp boots in russian language, idk for now how to change it to boot in english or slovak lanuage (because Im from slovakia) and also it have Lenovo Logo becasuse I use sources from Lenovo A5 that have same cpu)
I will make in future separated thread for this....
Thanks alot for this.. I don't know maybe I should try the disconnected battery. But from a yt link I saw
The link : Honor 7s Dua-Al000
I wonder how his worked
I'll have to know how to disconnect the battery thou. I'm a noob at this.

you can patch it or flash it without disconecting the battery
Here is how:
turn it off
Push and hold volume down
While holding volume down connect usb cable
But is recomended to disconect battery because the phone can boot up instead to go in flash mode.

Well he did with the battery and he add more steps that are not necessary for flashing, like scanning for COM port etc...
When I first try flash my 7s I download flashtool and didn't change any settings, I just load the rom and flash it.
So you must try to find your best way how to do and I will help you
And I wonder how he can flash the Log and Cust partition via flashtool, Maybe he have unlocked bootloader or something
Update: he have in the video description link for "lib usb" but didn't show it in video, or I'm just blind or something

At this point. Might just abandon it. Thanks for everything. Ran into laptop issue on my third trial lol.
Yeah I see, drivers issues, it happens to me too, but I install windows 7 and everything works... but I think is not worth it to format your laptop and install win7 only for this mediatek crap, where you can't unlock bootloader or anything because Huawei trying to protect customers and they believe that their android is best for they're phones

Snapdragon is eazy for root.

Updating firmware after flashing board software

Hello everyone. A couple of days ago, I bricked my huawei mate 10 pro BLA-AL00 by flashing the wrong firmware. After a few days of experimentation, I was able to revive the phone by flashing the board software back onto the phone. Now the problem is that I am on a super early build of emui and it seems like its the stock factory software with a bunch of debugging programs on it. I am having some trouble updating the firmware to android 8. I downloaded this exact firmware file: https://androidhost.ru/bzx
I am having some trouble figuring out what files I need to flash. There is a main dload folder after extracting the files, but if I try to copy that onto a usb drive and flash it using the dload method, my phone will once again brick itself. I have tried flashing the all_cn firmware file using TWRP recovery, but that also bricks my device and puts it into a bootloop. I have also tried using the huawei update file extractor software and tried manually flashing the firmware using fastboot commands, but once again will just end up in a bootloop. Am i doing something wrong? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks
Hi,
I'm in the exactly same case. Did you manage to fix it?

I finally managed to figure everything out after days of research and testing. You must download the BLA-AL00 8.1.0.351 full ota firmware from pro-teammt.ru and extract the update.zip folder. Next, I used MRT Dongle 3.19 cracked to flash the firmware. https://www.gadgetsdr.com/mrt-dongle-latest-crack/ To activate the program, you must use the keygen provided to generate a activation code after pasting in your device id. The device id can be found by opening the mrt program for the first time. Paste in the activation code found by the keygen into the activator and the program should open. Next, click on hw flasher and put your phone into fastboot mode. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked. I assume it is unlocked as you only flashed the board firmware. Under write flash click on the 3 dots near the bottom of the page, select the update.app file you extracted before, and click on start. Don't worry if it says fail for the first few commands. It should successfully flash everything else. Once this process is finished, your phone should reboot. We need to do one final step and write the oeminfo back into the phone. Put your phone back into fastboot mode by plugging in your phone and holding down the power and volume down buttons. In MRT, click on update hw soft_ver, select huawei mate 10 pro, and click on start. After flashing, your phone should reboot normally now into an operating system!!!
Thank you for your answer ! My Mate 10 Pro is BLA-L09, how did you know you have to use this specific firmware (BLA-AL00 8.1.0.351 full ota firmware) for your BLA-AL00? I guess I should use BLA-L09 full ota but which version?

It took me a very long time and a large amount of downloading to figure out the exact firmware I needed to use. I just downloaded a bunch of version and see if it would flash onto my phone. Finally, the 8.1.0.351 firmware worked! For the bla-l09, im not too sure the exact version needed. I would experiment around and try a bunch of different full ota firmware from pro-teammt.ru Maybe you could flash the bla-al00 firmware and rebrand the phone? Im not too familiar with rebranding, but I know its possible.
I have tried with BLA-L09 8.0.0.115 firmware then my phone has reboot in a better factory version (EMUI 8 instead of EMUI 5), but still in factory mode, with the developpers apps. I've done the hw soft_ver update, but it still boot on this factory version. I've tried to flash another firmware (still BLA-L09 but another version), and now my phone stays shut down. I cannot even see it on my COM port. I've tried to use test point, I can hear the USB plug computer song but nothing happen. Phone no detected, black screen, no vibration. I've tested all the possible key combinaison (volume up, volume down, power button), still nothing .
Any idea of a last chance?
I was so close thank to your help!

realme 7 pro bricked

Hi, Guys. I have the Realme 7 pro. I did install the realme 2.0 ui with A11 in it. OK. everything was ok. Then I went back to the A10 realmeui 1.0 version of the software. The phone hard Bricked. Does not get in to the system. Does not get in to the recovery and the fastboot mode. I dont know what to do anymore.
I can only enter edl mode but I don't have an authorized id
If you could access fastboot mode, you could flash recovery and ROM from it, in case you have the bootloader unlocked. Otherwise you may manage to flash something from EDL mode using QFIL tool - firmware files and XMLs can be extracted from OFP firmware using extractor tool, but I suppose you may need some patched firehose binary file (I tried it with the one extracted from OFP, but it didn't work). Otherwise, you may try sending it to Realme service for reflashing or try to find some chinese/indian guy with credentials for MsmDownloadTool - I saw they charge about 5-20$ for doing that remotely...
qfil doesn't work, I've managed to solve the problem.

I am in a similar situation with the only difference being that fastboot is working for me and i have unlocked bootloader.
i would greatly appreciate it if you told me how you managed to unbrick your device

LG K7 MS330 wont boot into download or recovery mode. Any suggestions?

I have a LG K7 that will boot to system, but no matter how many times I try, it wont boot into either download mode or recovery mode. I've tried the combos of vol down + power and vol up + power and every other combination I can think of. Pulled the battery and it didn't improve.
Anybody ever see something like this? Any suggestions on how to get it to work?

Yes, and adb devices shows nothing. I'm wondering if the bootloader is locked and maybe that's why I'm having problems.
Also, I'm having problems getting TWRP to load. Do you know what version of TWRP will work with K7?
Do you have to root first before installing TWRP from the playstore?

If "adb devices" shows nothing imo it's not recognised so not possible to flash.
Tried other cable/port?

@BigZ1 sorry, none.
OK, finally can get into firmware mode and also recovery mode. Reason I needed this is to be able to try loading custom roms on this old phone. Now I'm on to the next pothole in the road.
I would like to install twrp. twrp from the playstore wont install unless you are rooted. I am using stock rom android 5 unrooted. I've looked at all the options and from what I see, I have the classic chicken and the egg dilema. Can't flash until my OS is rooted, and cant root without flashing.
The only way out is to use adb to flash the twrp file. Unfortunately I can't get adb devices command to acknowledge any devices. I have usb debugging on, and by connecting to a windows computer, I can view internal storage. So the device is communicating, but not via adb commands.
I tried to use the LGUP tool from LG, but it wont let me select my device, It sees the correct model of phone on Com3, but wont let me select the model. I think it's because LG has turned off their servers and cast us adrift.
If anybody has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.
I think my best bet is to get adb devices to work, or find a way to root my OS. I just cant figure out how to make that work. Help, please!!!!
BTW, in the stock recovry mode, LG has removed everything useful (e.g. install zip, reboot options, wipe cache, etc.) so the only option there is factory data reset. Thanks a lot LG!!!!!

I doubt that fastboot will work if adb isn't but it's worth a try.
You are right, a fastboot command would do it. Only reason I mentioned adb devices, is that if adb can't see the devices, fastboot wont either. I'll try it again, but so far no luck.
What I don't understand is why usb debugging lets me look at the internal files, but adb devices doesn't work. Perhaps you are right, the bootloader may be locked. Only thing I could find about that is in developer options I turned on OEM unlock.
Is there any other way to unlock the bootloader?
Sure wish I could get some of the LG tools working. They might enable flashing of twrp recovery or one of the various zip files that would root my OS.
Any more ideas? I'm desperate enough to try most anything....
One more question. When you try to execute adb or fastboot commands, should you be in what LG calls "firmware download" mode? Seems to me that when I did adb or fastboot commands on other vendors phones, I was able to do so while the OS was running.
Grasping for straws....
Well, it looks like you are right. There is a fastboot command
fastboot oem unlock
that would unlock the bootloader. Unfortunately while it's locked, I can't get fastboot to recognize any devices, so I can't unlock it.
Is there any way around this?

Fastboot is afaik only working in download/bootloader mode.
ADB working on any other.
So <adb reboot bootloader > usually gets you there (but adb doesn't work) or switch to it manually.
Idk if you need to flash an unlock.bin by LG.
Got it before 31.12.21 for my G5.

Yeah, I just discovered that LG discontinued support on Dec 31, 2021. So, looks like I'm out of luck for getting anything from them.
My only hope is that someone has that lockbin file and would share it. Sure wish LG hadn't left me high and dry.
Now that LG support is gone, is there any forum that might have some kind of workaround for the bootloader?

The file got generated by LG after I entered a long code on their developers site which is afaik different for each device.
So someone elses unlock.bin might even harm your device.
You may be right, but at this point I don't have much to lose.
One thing I would like to do with the K7, is get it rooted. I can move files to the internal storage with usb debugging. I can't install any zip files and that makes it really difficult to find anything that can root it. Thanks again to LG for reducing the recovery menu to "factory reset data" so the phone has almost nothing useful.
If you can figure out a way that I can install zip files, please let me know.
I can't find anything that will let me flash the device without root, and I can;t get to root without some tools in the recovery menu.
Thanks
OK, I have not found a way to root. So I thought I'd take one last look at flashing/upating the firmware. I found a .kdz and a .tot file that I'd like to try. At this point I'm not risking much because the phone isn't worth much to me as is.
So, if you had a .kdz and .tot file to try out, what app would you use to flash it to the K7?
I tried to get LGUP to work and LG flash tool, but cant seem to make them work. If I knew what one to use, it would narrow my search. I'm trying to flash the K7 firmware by running exe files (LG UP, LG flash tool) on Windows 10.
What do you guys use?

So, I managed to find a patched version of LG flash tool (2.0.1.6) on this website (thanks to member ieatacid), that doesn't give me errors immediately after I open it. The first thing I notice is that it doesn't appear to recognize the K7. If I try checking the box for manual mode and adding the file I want to flash, the click start, it tells me to "select model dll file". This is probably a result of flash tool not recognizing the phone. Anyway, where am I supposed to find this .dll file? I've searched everywhere and came up empty handed.
Can anybody give me some enlightenment on what I am doing wrong? Any help at all will be much appreciated.
Is there a tutorial on use of the flash tool? I looked but haven't found it yet. Just some youtube videos that are terse and lacking in detail.
Thanks!

I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. I own 3 LG phones (LGMS300m1, LM-X210ULMG10r. VS500PP9). I tried all 3 with LGUP tool. The tool recognized 2 of the 3, and failed to ID the LGMS300 (K7). Anybody got any ideas why the tool would recognize some but not others?
I am the only owner of the two phones that LGUP would ID. I guarantee that the bootloader on them was never touched (unlocked or locked, in any way). So that's not the answer.
It would be a big improvement for me, if I could at least get the LGUP tool to work for the K7.
BTW, I tried all 3 phones on the 2016 version of LG Flash Tool. All 3 failed to be identified.
Please, if anybody has a hypothesis for the odd behavior of the LGUP tool, I would love to hear it. Any suggestions are welcome.

Update on the never ending saga!
I found (on this website) an LGUP tool (version) that is for the MS330. So it works (albeit not so consistently). I was able to flash a .kdz file after several trials. Apparently when LGUP connects, it puts the MS330 in bootloader mode, waits 15 seconds for the device to respond and then begins flashing.
Now, here's the problem. I have a .tot file I'd like to flash. When trying to flash a .tot file, 15 seconds is not enough time for the device to respond, and I get an error for what appears to be an asynch error. That is to say, the MS330 took a second or two more that the 15 seconds to respond saying, yes i'm in bootloader mode.
Is there any way to give it a bit more time? Surely the members who use LGUP tool would have encountered this behavior, and would have found a solution.
Words of wisdom, anyone?

[SOLVED] Help on Redmi 6A (Cactus) Hard Bricked

Hi, I'm new to the forums.
Back to July 2020, I tried to install custom ROM for my Redmi Cactus and it has no problem until I wipe the data from TWRP and install the custom ROM but failed, I couldn't remember why. And now the phone is dead, it won't boot, no vibration what so ever, when I charge it the LED turns on but when I plug it to PC it won't detect the phone, no sound and nothing in Device Manager even though I have the MTK driver installed on my PC. I've read this thread and couldn't understand the first step as it says "Open REV4 Bypass tool, off your phone. Click BYPASS Connect phone to PC and Turn ON your phone." but I can't turn on my phone. Also on Step 2 which is the SP Flash Tool thing, it says "Open SPFLASHTOOL choose in Download-Agent No_Auth.bin" but on my SP Flash Tool archive I can't find No_Auth.bin, is it somewhere from third-party or from the firmware itself? Currently I'm downloading the firmware and will try to flash it using SP Flash Tool to see if it works. Any help with this?
