The procedure is not the same for all devices... Basically you have to do a clean flash. Custom kernels/mods/... are not supported.

If the ROM is available for the device on their official site then it's off course the same method to install.

Use magisk to patch the stock boot.img then flash it in fastboot then the GSI

It depends on the device, if device has minimal changes (display) then it would would work
50/50 change.
