Question Poor in-call audio quality (muffled) - Motorola Edge 40 Pro / Moto X40 (China)

Hi everyone.
Just got my Edge 40 Pro and made a few calls on it, noticed a mediocre sound quality.
In-call sound is muffled and there's a general lack of clarity to it.
WhatsApp voice messages suffer from the same issue.
Problem is both on earpiece and speakerphone mode.
Also noticed that the network tones - the beeps you hear before the called person answers the phone - are unequal in length, one is short, the next one is long, and they have a reverb-like noise.
Other media like YouTube or Spotify is unaffected; in fact it's crystal clear.
Can anyone relate on this?
All things considered, I'm thinking there's some badly tweaked "audio enhancement" at work here.
Network operator is Iliad Italy.
Thank you

[Q] Mic distorted (& echo) in voice call, fine while recording

Hi,
I have an issue with my mic on my galaxy S2, whenever I call or get called, my voice sounds incredibly distorted.
It's not that it's too soft, it's actually quite loud, just very distorted.
My voice is also echoed while calling.
However, when I'm recording, the mic gives me a great, clear sound.
I've read up about it, but most people are complaining that the volume is too low, which absolutely isn't the issue with me.
Anyone have some solutions?
They're much appreciated!

Awful Popcorn Noise On Google Hangouts Video Calls

I have regularly used Hangouts on my other devices and while the quality has never been great, it got the job done.
On the Z2 though, Hangouts is unfortunately completely unusable for video calls due to an awful and constant noise.
As soon as the call connects I hear what sounds like popcorn popping and this only increases with time or trying to talk.
Mic noise suppression makes no difference and neither does turning the mic off and in again as the noise comes straight back.
It's very disappointing that this great device is seemingly incapable of handling a simple video call, does anyone know of a solution?

[Q] [Q/discussion] real time sound input and output during calls?

we all know that android(till lollipop i hope) has this (lack of)real time audio issue.
if you tried any "real time" voice altering software you have probably noticed that there is about half a second delay between the real you and the headphones output of your voice.
so how comes that during calls there is no such delay and you can hear yourself in the headphone simultaniously with the real you?
and another thing. why is that when you try to activate sounds during calls(such as music or effects) they sound low quality like the call itself?
are there two sound engines within android?
can android use both at the same time? (the good quality music togather with the ****ty quality voice call?)
i'd love to understand the way android handles sound a lil deeper thank you in advance.

Android noise cancelling too good?

Hi guys, I'm developing an app at the moment, the idea is to be able to play a sound snippet during a call that the other party will be able to hear.
its all in place, except seem to have hit a bit of a road block, during the call, i press the button, the sound plays through the loudspeaker (very loud) yet the other caller hears nothing. I have disabled noise suppression in the call settings, that allowed me to hear a teeny faint. This is not music or anything so it doesn't need to be clear but is there anyway to get this working? I have tried speaker phone it didnt really make much difference either. Why is my budget phone with no noise cancellation features so good at blocking out any sounds it makes itself from the mic??

Low quality audio while in an internet call (Skype, Discord, ...)

I recently switched from an iPhone X to a Samsung Galaxy S9 and while I love the phone there is just one big problem:
When I'm in an internet voice call like Skype, Discord, etc... the audio is REALLY low quality. Like the bitrate is dramatically reduced or something.
I found out that if you call your voicemail and put it on hold during the internet call, the issue is temporarily resolved (until the voicemail automatically terminates) and you can perfectly hear the other side.
This is a really big issue for me and I'm out of ideas on what to do. Is there some setting in the phone that I'm missing to fix this?
Oh and something else that happens while in an internet voice call: ALL audio (except a phone call) quality is lowered. Even playing Spotify or Youtube or playing a game with sound is absolutely unbearable while on Skype with someone.
I'm using the default samsung AKG wired earphones.
Any advice?
Thanks!
I feel S9+ really having a bad internet connection. I'm not sure what it caused. My iphone 8 works well, but somehow It's reallly slow watching videos on S9+... However, voice call is fine.
I have the same problem.
For example if I listen to radio at the phone and somebody calls me via WiFi-Call or VoLTE, the radio quality is very limited. Also with the "call"-speaker. If the call is via the normal mobile network, the radio quality is perfect.
