Sony Xperia 1 2019 relocking bootloader. What version of stock ROM to install? - Sony Xperia 1 Questions & Answers

After unlocking the bootloader, I decided to relock it. To relock the bootloader, I should first install the stock ROM. But I do not know what version and region of stock ROM to install so as not to get a brick. Will I get a brick if I install the wrong version of the stock ROM? Should the stock ROM be installed exactly the version that was installed right before unlocking the bootloader?

ray: how to get back to real Stock firmware?

hey,
i flashed cyanogenmod on my ray.. but after all u flashed the stock rom again from this forum (ftf via flashtool).
the thing is that SE companion software says (if i want to update /repair my firmware) that the firmware is modified and it wonmt update it. now my question: do i now always have to flash the new roms (for example when ICS will come) or is there a method to get back to the real stock rom so that SE companion will update/repair the firmware?
im on android 2.3.4. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316070)
its rooted and the kernel is still the one from the cyanogenmod (i think- well, i didnt flash any new kernels after cyanogenmod..just flashed the rom)
bootloader is unlocked
hope you can help me..thx
yes after unlocking bootloader you always have to install stock firmwares via flash tool
use wotan server , it is a great way to install stock rom

[Q] LWW Orange v62 with locked bootloader

Hi. I have problem with my SE becouse i update my phone to v62. I cant root becouse is not possible on this soft version. I cant unlock bootloader cuz bootAllowed=no . I can install fresh ROM via flashtool? When no what i must do? Please help. (Sorry for my english).
You can only install a fresh stock .58 rom via flashtool or wotanserver then root it then update it .62 (now with root) then install clockworkmod recovery. You then have to pay to unlock your bootloader. You can't install custom full roms and custom kernels w/out unlocking bootloader.

Hello, I used this thread as a guideline to root my phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
Basically I had to downgrade the firmware to .42 with the ftf file on that thread flashing it with flashtool (link for flashtool also provided in that thread), use zergrush to gain root access and install both busybox and Superuser.apk (it's fixed in .62 so you can no longer gain root with zergrush) and then update the phone using OTA back to .62. Updating to .62 does not make you lose root access. All you need should be in that thread.
If you want to unlock the bootloader to install custom roms and kernel I can't point you to a method that works for sure since I have no intention of unlocking mine as I am quite happy with the stock rom but there are plenty of threads on this forum about it.
Hope this helps!

[Q] want latest bootloader

i want latest boot loader for my s3 for the sake of sds, as i downgraded to old ones. can anyone give me the link (preferably for CWM) for latest bootloader (may be from latest indian rom b'coz i live in india). and is it safe to flash new bootloader? (i mean abt exclamation mark).
Are you sure you want it? No evidence that the bootloader affects SDS... either way.
Atleast its good to know how can I flash new bootloader...
Tell me the procedure. Bootloader may present in official ROM?
Just flash XXELLA... via PC Odin.
Please would be nice by the way... and thanks.

[Q] Restoring stock firmware

Hi
I've installed the CyanogenMod following the instructions from the link below and flashed the bootloader to the US ICS bootloader as recommended. Everything worked fine, although I'll thinking about upgrading the tab and restoring it to stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074202
I've found the stock firmware on the Sammobile site, although will this also revert the bootloader or do I need to install the UK bootloader and then restore the stock firmware?
Thanks
Flashing stock firmware will also install a bootloader, so there is no need for you to flash it again.
Thanks for the help :good:

Questions before proceeding from Stock Build 4.0.1.A.0.283, just unlocked bootloader

I recently got a network unlocked ST18a and upgraded through the phone's Wi-Fi to build 4.0.1.A.0.283 (Gingerbread 2.3.4 branded by Canada's Telus Mobility). It's now on the highest build available via OTA upgrade (I didn't want to install Sony's software on my laptop). I successfully unlocked the bootloader using SE Bootloader Unlocking v1.6. However, upon reading the instructions for installing CWM, they mention different starting build version as a requirement for installation, so now I'm uncertain what to do and don't want to guess, knowing the possibility of bricking.
Should I:
1. Proceed to install CWM without concern of the difference in my current build?
2. Relock the bootloader, upgrade to 4.0.4 ICS using Sony's software on my laptop (I'm assuming that's an option) and then proceed?
2B. If I go this route, what is the proper method to relock the bootloader? I've seen instructions to flash with the .ftf file in Xperia_Relock_Bootloader.zip but I'd like some reassurance here since I've read posts where people have bricked their phones attempting a bootloader relock.
Do not need to Relock the bootloader if you just hava to flash the .tft

hi! almost every kernel has cwm/twrp recovery installed so you just have to flash kernel that is compatible with your rom and you will have it
This thread was moved from the development section to this one, please remember, all the questions belongs to they own section and not development.
Thanks
Gabo
You just have to install any custom kernel for gingerbread, I guess all kernels in dev forum have cwm preinstalled
