Question Help/Advice needed - Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G - Redmi Note 12 5G

Hello Everyone,
Intro:
Recently i bought Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G. Price was reasonable and i needed phone so i can play some video games since my wife are not allowing PC anymore.
I am playing only one game and nothing more: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. But i am encountering terrible performance from this device.
Display is working on 120hz, and the settings in the game are set to ultra low and still encountering enormous FPS drop. Before this one i use to play on Samsung A71 6GB and had much better performance.
The model of Redmi Note 12 i posses is:
MODEL: 2209116AG
MIUI version: Stable 13.0.4.0(RHGEUXM)
Android version: 11 RKQ1.200826.002
Chipset: Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G (8 nm)
Memory: 8GB 256
Anyone have any suggestion? Should i update my MIUI version or?
Please any advice will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Kind Regards
Zeljko

6" (and larger) device alternatives to replace our Xperia Z Ultra (10+ device specs)
Let us make this the thread where all current and future devices with a screen at least 6 inches or more are discussed, so that when the day comes to choose a replacement for our beloved XZU, we will be ready.
List of Latest Contenders
1. Sony Xperia XA Ultra, 6.0", Mediatek Helio P10
2. Lenovo Phab2 Pro, 6.4", Snapdragon 652
3. LeEco Le Max X900, 6.33", Snapdragon 810
4. Xiaomi Mi Max, 6.44", Snapdragon 650
5. Zenfone 3 Ultra, 6.8", Snapdragon 652
6. Huawei Mate 8, 6", Kirin 959
7. Huawei P8 Max, 6.8", Kirin 935
8. Samsung Galaxy A9, 6", Snapdragon 652
I think phones such as Sony C5 Ultra are outmoded now. I would not consider buying a device with a processor less than Snapdragon 650 and I would very much prefer my new phone to come with Android Marshmallow.

I have had a chance to use Huawei P8Max that belongs to a friend for a few minutes. It looks great and only slightly larger than our Xperia Z Ultra. The screen is very nice, the phone is quite responsive. THough my friend complained a bit about the phone taking a very long time to charge. My only concern with Huawei devices is the lack of root access&almost no ROM development. P8Max has Kirin 935 CPU which sits one level below the current flagship Kirin, 950.

Honestly, in my opinion the camera on our phones is well I can't put it nicely, it's a ****ty camera in my opinion.
My gf had a huawei p7 and the camera was way way better then the camera from my xzu.

It's Mobile World Congress in a matter of weeks, so I am hoping there will be more phablets announced, in particularly a Z5 or Z6 Ultra.
I just ordered the mate 8. I got the Z5p but its too small, so I guess I'll be sacrificing ip68 for a while.

Once it arrives, could you compare your Mate 8 to XZU? It would be interesting to have an XZU owner's perspective. And according to the Mate 8 XDA forums, it has been rooted succesfully.
Sure

Interesting to find this thread. I been using my G Flex for a while and couldn't find a replacement for it. Most of the phones listed I've been looking at and haven't found a suitable replacement yet. The M5 Plus I would get but can't find 1 place to order it from.
Huawei P8 Max
I have just bought the Huawei P8 Max to replace my beloved Z ultra (the screen broke by itself !!). Initial impressions are positive - screen is bigger and brighter, very well built , superior camera with flash and what really impressed me in addition to the mammoth battery is the speaker volume, this thing is VERY loud, something we all missed with the ultra.
Having said that, you need to put the following into consideration if you are planning to migrate to the P8 Max:
- Huawei implementation of android cannot be compared to what Sony offers. I know it is a personal perspective but not having an application drawer and blocking applications notifications is too much.
- Forget the lovely 320 DPI where the screen accommodated everything you wished for - Huawei stupidly implemented a 480 DPI interface , everything apart from main menus (games, applications ... etc) just looks too big and ugly. (Hopefully it receives the marshmallow updates where the DPI can be customized like the mate 8).
- Slow updates from Huawei and very small community online.
Other than that, the device is very good, it has everything a phablet lover might ask for - but if Sony releases an Ultra successor I would jump into it.
Cheers

Been using the mate 8 for a few days and I am loving it. For me, 6" is the best screen size. I absolutely love using the XZU at home, but walking around trying to use it with one hand is damn near impossible, and it looks ridiculous in dress pants for work. So until sony comes out with a 6" device, I am going with huawei for now. Here is my more thorough mate 8 review;

you could try to use adb to set density to 320 though.
for those of us who need the extra storage, are there any cases that include a mSD slot? like some cases include a battery? at least this way the lazy manufacturers can make their little phones with no expandable storage but we could put them in a phone with an SD card that would mount on our phones?
side note, another one here looking to get rid of his Z ultra (on original since oct 2013) and am bored. haven't flashed it beyond 4.1.2 and as samsungs out of the running, am looking elsewhere

Thank you for the hint, already did that and was struggling to find the sweet spot. After several trials, setting the density to 288 and using a 3rd party launcher was perfect. However, the only minor issue I am facing is that the typing cursor disappeared in some applications like whatsapp and chrome.

Which note 4x variant should I get ?

I currently have a Moto G3 and it's getting old, was looking for an upgrade around 200$ Canadian. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x seems like the perfect candidat.
I have a some questions:
1: I found that there's a 3gb Ram 32Gb Rom version with the snapdragon 625 and also the 4gb 64gb Rom one with the Helium X20 for almost nothing more, really not sure which one to get
as it seems the Helium is a worst processor ?

Thanks a lot
Im using a snapdragon variant 4/64gb and i can recommend it. If i were you i wouldnt take a mtk device. Poor support, bugged roms etc. Stick with snapdragon variant.

3: Any recommandation for a quick charge module/cable to buy ? Not quite sure how it works but I know the setup isn't included with the phone
Thanks a lot

Yep. All Roms are compatible.
Dunno about quick charge mod/cable
Quick charge isnt supported by that device. Well, it is supported by CPU, but that doesn't mean that device does.

Which is the Xiaomi "Budget" Phone to get atm?

Hey everyone,
I just broke my S8 and need a "cheap" phone for a year until my contract is due.
I'm looking at xiaomi but am a bit lost on all the options. Lets start by what i'd like to get
- Sub 250$
- Either Stock Android or a decent Stock Rom
Thats about it. Other than that, the cheaper the better, though I'll pay for a decent display and RAM. Storage is secondary as is Batterylife.
So, Redmi Note 5, The Normal Redmi 6, Mi A2 or wait for the A2 Lite (when does that release anyways?) Or would you recommend looking at another Brand entirely?
Any input to help me decide is highly appreciated!
Redmi 6 has a mediatek processor, it´s 5,45" and a battery of 3.000mAH.
Mi A2 comes with a better processor SD 660, same size than Redmi Note 5 but a battery of 3.010mAH.
This device comes with a battery of 4.000mAH.
Redmi Note 5 with processor SD 636 (whyred) it´s the best option (for a minimal difference compared with this)
This forum it´s about Redmi 5 Plus (vince) that it could be confused with the other version but this device comes with SD 625 and other few differences. Both have a good hardware combined with a good software so you will have a good experience with any of both for less money.
Vince (Redmi 5 Plus/Note 5), and Whyred (Redmi Note 5 Pro) are decent, and have decent cameras.
Mido (Redmi Note 4X) is also decent, and is more mature in terms of stable custom ROM support - however, whether you get a good or dodgy camera sensor is pot luck. If you are into MIUI, then they are all equally well supported. I have both mido and vince. I prefer vince for the camera, and mido for everything else (especially custom ROM support).
If I were to choose again, it would have to be by the toss of a coin. So, I personally would get whichever of them I can find at the cheapest price (for the same specs). However, I would avoid the 3GB/16GB mido, even if storage is not a priority. I would also avoid any Xiaomi that has a Mediatek SoC (like the plague!).
The A2 or Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The A2 has Android One, Oreo and a better Snapdragon Chipset (660)/Adreno 512 but no MicroSD, no headphone jack and a 3000mAh (QC4) battery. It also has Type C and will get Android Pie.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a 4000mAh (QC2) battery, jack, MicroSD and no type C. You'll get the slower Snapdragon 636/Adreno 509 instead though and it comes with Nougat instead of Oreo.

You might want to research screen quality on both handsets. I read above that the Mi A2 has a dim display but this could be the above reviewer comparing it to higher-end displays.

Bug/error xiaomi redmi 6a

Hello, i recently bought a new xiaomi brand device (Redmi 6A 2gbram/16storage). I encountered so much bugs/errors in apps and games. Sometimes apps force closes in the phone but in my old one (Samsung A5 2015) has almost no crash at all when using apps. The games i played was Honkai Impact 3 and Skullgirls. Perhaps, it was the MIUI rom? Android 8.1? or the processor? I searched for solution everywhere but none found. The phone is cheap but i saved my pocket money to buy it please help I don't want to waste it. :crying: Much appreciated. Thank you....

Question Redmi Note 10 vs Redmi Note 10 5G

I ordered a "Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Lake Green 4Gb Ram 128Gb ROM" from Amazon. All my research indicated that this phone was a Redmi Note 10:
Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G Octa-core processor
Lake Green color
Model M2101K7AG
I received what appears to be a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G:
Model M2103K19C
However, it appears to be:
Lake Green color (not offered on XIaomi Redmi Note 10 5G)
Qualcomm Octo-Core Max 2.2GHz (Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor)
So, from my research I appear to have a quasi Note 10/Note 10 5G.
Before I go through the Amazon return process, can anyone help me:
1) Identify whether the phone has mojito vs camellia?
2) Find any other identifying information that would determine if this phone is capable of using mojito targeted ROMs?
3) Tell me which phone I have in my hand?

Redmi Note 10 (mojito/sunny) have a Snapdragon 678 processor
check Aida64 or Device Info HW to see all device specifications
or send pictures of the device so we can recognize it
Device specifications lists:
Android version: 11 RP1A,200720.011
MIUI version: 12.5.1.0(RKSEUXM)...which seems to indicate Redmi Note 10 5G
Baseband version: MOLY.NR15.R3MP.V4.3P63
Kernel version: 4.14.186-perf-g11c1b40f5322
But I cannot find mention of mojito/sunny or camellia.
I used Aida64 and it noted:
camellian
M2103K19C
MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor
So, this confirms that it is a Redmi Note 10 5G, but also seems to indicate that the seller is shady.
Thank you for the advice on where to look, it was very helpful.

Actually Dimensity 700 is superior over the SD678 in more ways than one. Plus the refresh rate of 90 hz and you got a clear winner. I have the Redmi Note 10 and it is an ok phone but it struggles running more than one app : e.g Outlook and Maps, making switching between them a real pita. It sometimes takes up to 10 sec for Outlook to open a mail. It is ridiculously slow CPU for what it is supposed to do on a modern Android Platform.

I meant no judgement on the Dimensity 700, I only meant that the seller clearly stated that it was the Snapdragon, but the phone had the MediaTek, which indicated shadiness to me. I am sure that the Redmi Note 10 5G is great, and better than the Redmi Note 10, which is why it costs more. But it was not the phone that I was looking for.
