Question This app is disabled based on security strategy - OnePlus Nord N20 5G

Has anyone seen that message? I think I got my N20 back to almost stock, but when the initial setup runs when booting, that pops up a couple screens in (it's something in the background, it'll either pop up on wireless network settings or insert sim depending on if I'm paying attention).
Anyone know what's causing that and/or how to fix it?
I'm running a Nord N20 5g with: GN2200export_11_A.07_2022080513530126

[Q] LG Thrive (Optimus) Semi-Bricked?

Yesterday I rooted my LG Thrive (part of the Optimus One family) and everything went fine. I was playing around with overclocking and removing bloatware using ROM Toolbox. Eventually however, I realized I wanted to remove some AT&T bloatware apps from initial startup. I was able to disable some through the program, but when doing so the app was freezing and I would just press the zoom button to return and then continue disabling additional apps. In doing so however, I'm certain this messed things up big time. I restarted my phone to see if these disabled apps would still start. The unlock screen came up but the touchscreen was inactive (it wouldn't respond to touch anywhere) as were any of the buttons on the phone (even the power button). I'm guessing I disabled quite an important startup service somehow along the lines. This is the same situtation in safe mode.
I was able to unlock the phone if I receive a text or call, then the touchscreen becomes active and allows me to unlock and use the phone. However, there is no desktop - it's a black screen with taskbar on top. The messaging app works as well as the device receives emails. But aside from the taskbar on the top, there's nothing.
I don't know where to go from here. Do I just try to install cyanogenmod over everything - if so, could someone point me in the right direciton? (I'm running a linux system as my desktop in case someone suggets a program to use for flashing). Or is there a simple fix to this issue I caused?
Thanks everyone!

[Q] [Help] Several Issues Global Mode Stock ROM - New to Rezound

Hi Friends,
I am new to rezound community, I just bought a used Rezound. My primary phone till now is myTouch 4G Slide rooted, unlocked running custom roms.
Three things i find amazing with Rezound is its Screen, beats audio which works also with my Klipsch on stock music player & the community support it gets (So many roms and mods) :good:
Am still a noob for rezound and trying to learn things as fast as i can so please help me if you are aware about any of the problems and its solutions.
I am having some issues with the phone.
First info about my Phone:
I am currently Fully stock, unrooted, locked bootloader.
VIGOR PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.27.0000
RADIO-2.22.10.0801r/2.22.10.0803r
OpenDSP-v14.6.0.7708.00.0507
eMMC-boot
Aug 6 2012,19:24:37
Software No: 4.03.605.2 710RD
kernel version: 3.0.16-g480e1b0
Android : 4.0.3
Sense: 3.6
When i got the phone it was on HTC screen bootloop, with stock HBOOT-2.10.0000 & RADIO-0.95.00.1017_2r/0.95.00.1013r & locked bootloader.
I updated the phone with RUU 4.03.605.2 using PH98IMG.zip from android police.
I will always use it in GSM network only and preferably Stock rom (With root) for next couple of weeks. Phone will be used in India on 900mhz & 1800mhz bands & 2100mhz for UMTS & 3g.
Here are the issues i am facing:-
1) Even after i select GSM mode or Global Mode it doesn't register on network automatically. I have to manually press "Select Network Automatically" & reboot every-time for it to register network. Sometimes it registers on network only in GSM mode and sometimes only on Global mode. Solutions?
2) Data (3g) Sometimes works sometimes doesnt work. Normally in all phones APN settings of the network provider are added and selected by default when the sim is inserted. But here i have to manually save APN settings everytime. Why doesn't it take automatically from sim or network?
3) Stock Wifi Hotspot doesn't work, Error says "You need a verizon sim for this service". Any way to make the stock wifi hotspot functionality to work without verizon simcard or any third party apps?
4) There is an annoying always on lockscreen notification saying "This Sim card is from an unknown source". Any way to remove it ?
5) The phone sometimes lags a lot or doesnt respond or just turn of abruptly even when no apps are running in background. Only fix is the battery pull reset. Any better solution ? Will removing Verizon crapware improve anything ?
6) Yest nite before going to bed i switched off the phone. In the morning when i tried to turn it on, it wouldn't turn on. So i thought may be i would have forgotten to turn it off & plugged in the charger to see if the battery was empty, the phone wudn't charge nor the charging notification light turned on. So i again did a battery pull reset and the phone turned on, with 80% battery remaining. It started with the phone setup screen. I just don't know what happened, any ideas or solutions ?
7) I am unable to make or receive calls in global mode, It gives an error "The process com.android.phone has stopped", loses network & reboots with just 1-2 network bars after reboot. USSD code from dialer runs without issues. (BTW i can receive & make calls in GSM/UMTS mode) Its confusing that it doesnt work in global mode but works in GSM/UMTS mode.
If there are other known issues in gsm /global mode in stock rom which i am unaware of please suggest solutions for that as well.
Hope I didn't repeat questions for any problems already solved, If so please point me to the right thread of the solutions.
Thanks a lot guys.
You can try to root and install custom rom or stock rom and see if it fixes it..

1) Did you try the *#*#4636#*#* menu to change modes? Also, a reboot is commonly required when changing these settings, Global Mode enables all radios (LTE/CDMA/GSM/HSPA) with a Verizon SIM, GSM only enables GSM & HSPA on any SIM, GSM is probably the one you need.
2) The Rezound requires you to manually input APN information, sorry, just the way it is. Also, the 3G (HSPA/UMTS) radios in the Rezound are fairly weak, even standing right next to a tower you sometimes will not get 3G, but Edge is very reliable.
3) That is Verizon locked service, you would have to root and use a 3rd party tool, or a custom ROM.
4) Not in a stock ROM, the stock ROM is intended for Verizon users only so any other SIM will show that, an custom ROM can correct this.
5a) This is unusual actually, the stock ROM is fairly stable, although the underlying VZW services not being able to connect could cause issues.
5b) Not likely, you could remove the apps, but the underlying services will still be there. A custom ROM may be able to correct this.
6) Try disabling "Fastboot" in the Security settings menu. This is not adb fastboot, it is an HTC mode where shutting down/rebooting only does a partial shutdown to improve boot times. You will know you found the right option when you see something like "Enabling this option may interfere with the use of some market applications" and it is enabled by default.
7) Again, this is a Verizon phone... to Verizon a "Global Mode" phone will have it's SIM and roam onto it's partners networks, therefore it really kind of needs a Verizon SIM to work properly in Global mode. You want the phone in GSM mode, not Global mode.
Some final thoughts... You may want to consider an unlocking the bootloader, installing custom recovery, and an 3rd party GSM capable ROM, there are several possibilities in the various development areas here, this will probably correct several of the issues you are having. Most ROMs over the last year or so have some support for GSM, just read the threads on the ROMs for more information.
To be honest, the Rezound is not a great GSM phone by any means... but depending on your needs it might work with some modifications.

LG G Vista 2 "Unfortunately System UI Has Stopped"

Hi all,
I've got an LG G Vista 2 that I've been trying to turn into an audiobook/podcast/mp3 player after decommissioning it from use as a cellphone about a year ago. However, whenever I boot the phone the screen remains black and a popup appears saying: "Unfortunately System UI has stopped". When tapping "ok" to close the popup the screen remains black and shortly later another popup appears, effectively preventing any interfacing with the device. Even keeping the power down menu open long enough to turn off the phone is a struggle.
It seems like the most common recommendation online is to factory reset the phone through recovery mode - I have tried that several times, each time the popup comes up even before going through the Android setup process. The same popup comes up even in safe mode. I'm at a loss of what to do: I have no way to interface with the phone, through the device still seems to work fine. I'm wondering if this issue is possibly caused by a hardware fault that is manifesting in a software issue, or if the OS install is just incredibly corrupted.
Is there any way to reinstall Android on the phone without being able to access its GUI? Being a lower-end phone from several years ago it is rather hard to find OEM ROMs online, though even if I had a ROM I wouldn't know exactly what to do. I would appreciate any recommendations on where to go from here.
Thanks.
Were you able to solve this issue?
No, unfortunately not. It doesn't seem to be a straightforward fix and I haven't gotten around to really working on it. I'm still open for sugustions if anyone has any tips.

Help with Xfinity Note 8, FRP, Carrier Switch

I have a Galaxy Note 8 from Xfinity Mobile that I'm trying to flash T-mobile firmware onto. Here are the issues:
Once upon a time I was using this phone as a home remote with no sim in it on airplane mode and made a random gmail account to set it up. It has been sitting in a drawer dead for 6 months, so without even thinking, the first thing I did was a factory data wipe only to be greeted by the FRP. I have no idea what the email was that I used to set up this phone (i remember making one that was along the lines of '[email protected]' but can't remember it exactly) and apparently did not use my real email or phone number as a backup. So the first issue is, I can't even get into the phone to see the current boot loader, or firmware version on it. Nor can I get far enough to even use a carrier unlock code (which i assume I'll need, but won't be a problem getting from xfinity).
Is there any way possible that given the current situation I can switch this device to tmobile?
never mind, by some divine miracle (and after exhausting every other possible solution i could think of) i remembered the email used

Question Random reboot - any Pixel 6 (non pro) users affected?

Wazzup.
Over at the Pixel 6 Pro fair, we have quite the number of people having problems with random reboots. We are trying to narrow it in - Android12? Pixel 6? Software? Hardware?
So - anyone here with the same set of problems? Or does the Pixel 6 not have that kind of issue?
For reference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/random-reboots.4353231/
I have gotten several random reboots as well. 256gb seafoam pixel 6. In particular, I was using "Frep" automation app (unrooted, used pc to start server) to do repetitive image searches in a game. Also the phone was sitting on a wireless charger while doing this. I noticed my phone felt pretty warm, wonder if it could be overheating?
Could be a naughty 3rd party app. Have you tried safe mode?
I posted this here:
P6 Bluetooth Problems
My p6 will see most some of my Bluetooth devices (laptop, tablet, TV, earbuds) . It pairs with the earbuds, but everything else it will try and pair, usually does not. If and when hen it does pair, that pairing is dropped dropped within 5 secs...
forum.xda-developers.com
My random reboots (or crashes that forced me to reboot) almost entirely stem from the wifi+bluetooth implementation. I found a sure-fire way to crash it during setup. Without word vomiting here, connecting the P6 with and to other devices has proved more difficult than any previous Pixel (for me).

Not yet. It's also hard to "force" it (the reboots, I am not able to replicate it manually). Yesterday it just randomly happened whilst the phone laid idle next to me, thrice at the morning, about one time through late afternoon, then one time evening. I just notice the screen lighting up, then the Google logo comes, meaning the phone restarted.
I'm also pretty sure that Bluetooth/Wifi settings differed when the reboots happened, ergo at some times bluetooth was on, then when it rebooted, bluetooth was off. At no time when the reboots happened had I a bluetooth device connected. WiFi was online though, all the time.
What all the reboots have in commong though (at least the ones where I am concerned), is that the phone is just laying next to me, or somewhere, being in idle - doing as far as I know, nothing. It never happened when I used the phone or put it under load, so my P6 never "crapped" out under me. That's why I am not that concerned about this as of now, but it's certainly a nuisance to unlock the phone every time with my darn pin.
(Concerning 3rd party app) - I'd say that's unlikely. I copied my files over from my Pixel 4 XL and have not yet added one singular other app to my P6 Pro, so it should have gone naughty before my transfer over.
Hi! I experienced a big crash on the pixel 6. When I was configuring telegram, the app crashed and then the screen got black. After a minute it rebooted to the Google logo with a loading bar underneath. It was blocked in that state, but I could reboot it with volume up + power button.
I was pretty scared as the usual button down + power button didn't do anything lol
12 (SD1A.210817.036) on my pixel 6, occurred randomly when opening camera app. Happend 7-10 times.

Odd. I never had a problem whilst using the phone, my phone only rebooted when laying idle (even though today I had no reboots at all, alas I didn't use the phone much, maybe 2h SoT without any heavy lifting).
Something in android 12 is bugging around, maybe we have to open support tickets.

I just talked for a while with a Google rep and he said that they are not aware of any reboot problems, no people over at Google Forums have reported such a thing. "We do not monitor Reddit or XDA" - so he said he opened a support ticket to the responsible team and they would look into it, he also asked that I / we report/feedback this under -> Settings -> Tips & Support -> Feedback.
We also talked about a lens flare problem, that at least the Pixel 6 Pro has. If you shot some photos where the sun is directly shining into the camera, you might want to re-check them. Most of mine have either some sort of big circular green dot in them, or a big beam of light like in a phone with a very bad HDR processing. It seems to be some sort of software glitch, he also reported that.
So hopefully those things can get fixed.
This was the follow-up email:
Thank you for contacting Google support.
This email is regarding the chat conversation we had earlier today, I'm sorry we weren't able to complete it. Hence I wanted to follow up via email to ensure all your queries have been answered.
Please re-launch the camera app and check if the issue is fixed.
Please be assured our developer team is working on this to fix it as soon as possible. We would really appreciate your kind understanding as we work on this to fix it for you.
If there is anything apart from this that needs clarification, please feel free to reply back to this email. I'll be more than happy to assist you.
Thanks!

I'm having similar restarts while phone is sitting on a table doing nothing. Tried a factory reset and was fine until overnight on charge and it happened again.
Also have had a few times where wifi has stopped working for some reason. Not sure if related.
Not had any reboots but quiet a few app crashes in especially FB will be scrolling away and bang just closes also Amazon app ,
Well that was interesting.. When it rebooted that time, it gave me an error screen saying it could not load and may be corrupt. I had two options, try again and factory reset. Try again got me back running, but I'm wondering do I got as defective device now.. or if it's software related.
So after a lot of messing around, I think I have narrowed down what may be causing my reboots. It only seems to happen when I am using "Frep" to play macros on a game while charging my phone.. the phone gets pretty hot, and reboots when I tap the screen or try to swipe home or recent apps. Maybe its overheating, or maybe its "Frep" playing naughty.. but Frep did work perfectly fine on my old $200 used Nord N10 5g. Will update if it reboots while not doing this.
no reboots or crashes so far, not doing any gaming - but using phone for email, surfing, whatsapp etc and also a work profile for MS outlook and teams.
I have/had similar issues with my Pixel 6 (128GB - europe unlocked).
I was transferring old data via cable from my old (Xiaomi Mi A1) to the Pixel 6. This resulted in sluggish performance, crashes every 15 minutes. The crashes would randomly occur and behave mostly like this:
Try to unlock phone with fingerprint sensor
Fingerprint sensor lights up, nothing happens, no haptic response
Swiping up to the PIN entry. Enter PIN and hit enter. Nothing happens. Now freeze.
Screen turns black and it takes phone to reboot on average ~7minutes
Factory Reset; Installed apps manually (standard messaging apps, no games etc), better performance, problem persists
Factory reset; boot into safemode. It now took way longer to provoke the issue. But it still happened.
After this I contacted the customer service and they will provide me with a replacement. But now after a night of idle, the phone was working for 3-4 hours without any issue at all with most of my apps installed. It just now went into a random reboot (could only notice because it asked for PIN because of the reboot). But not the 8 minute blank black screen type of reboot.
I am really unsure what is the issue at hand here. But have to say that experience is less than ideal.
Mine just happened last night, not charging or running anything 3rd party apps (all from App Store). I tried to use the camera after eating dinner and noticed that double clicking power button doesn't open the camera anymore. After unlocking the phone it appears that the phone has restarted.
Is anyone running Private DNS on their system like Adguard DNS or NextDNS? I did some searching and people reported some private DNS were causing Android to crash. It was suppose to be fixed in previous Android versions but it could be back again.
I haven't noticed any random reboots (and the lock screen will require a pin to be entered after reboot and says this on the screen, so you should know the phone rebooted). I've had the P6 since the official release date. In fact, I haven't restarted the phone in days.
I run a wide variety of apps. Some from the Play store and some sideloaded. I think that any reboot issues are probably app related. Remember that A12 is very new and the are surely still some compatibility issues that app developers haven't found/fixed yet.
