In this topic I would like to share ideas about making the ultimate ROM & software configuration for the French users of XDA II.
I browse this site for months now, and I am very disappointed by the total absence of 1.72 French ROM.
Yes I am pretty happy with my Orange 1.66.02 Fra, but I am looking forward for a better MMS client, for the WM2003 SP2, and, why not, for a better battery autonomy.
I want also to edit this ROM, to unload all the unnecessary stuffs (the Orange software in my case), and to add some of my software.
I don't make any illusion about a possible WM2003SE upgrade in the future, so I want to have a very good WM2003 ROM, with all possible details which make the difference.

Then, between two cries about the 1.72, how can I edit my 1.66.02 Fra ? I made the image on the hard disk with OSImage Tools, then I tried to open the .nbf files with WM2003 ROM Image Editor but I never found the right password! Do you know more than me about this thing ?
I hope we will discuss here about all the details needed to modify/customise the French and only French versions.

best way to customize your current (Extended!!) ROM is to unhide & unlock is.
Change whatever you want (even extract newer versions of MMS, camera or whatever from newer Extended ROMs like the 1.72)
Lock it again and hard-reset.
There are some threads here on modifying the external rom.
This way you dont have to flash, which in its own is always risky-er than just changing files.
OH, BTW: Before you make any change to the extended rom , copy ALL files in it to your PC. Just in case you mess up.
Look that, it's the ROM 1.72.02FRA on my SPV M1000.

As for me, I am interested to erase all the operator-related files but the phone stuff and connection settings. But I don't know exactly what to erase.
I tried to put my own CAB in the extended memory and it worked like a charm at hard-reset.
So, will we begin to review all the newest versions of each french mini-software (PDA, Phone, BT etc.) available ? In the 1.72 Fra case, is the newest also the best ?

I discovered that there are few MB free (and lost) space in the Extended Rom, and I want to put a file (an eBook) inside (beside the CAB of MobiPocket).
I need to know what is the command, sort of autoexec.bat thing, which copies that file on [RAM] My Documents, at hard-reset.

I think to convert the ebook in a cab file, which will be self-extracted at hard reset and copied to My Documents. But how to do this ? Any help would be appreciate.
I found the Extended ROM Tutorial made by Yann and I adapt the information for the french extended rom :
- Broadcast_FRA.sa.CAB : "Seems to only set the CellBroadcast setting to enabled or disabled. (I guess this refers to the Reception of News via SMS by selecting channels of interested. Quite expensive I think and only interesting for phones that do not have any other capabilities of receiving and displaying information).
T-Mobile NL sets it on, with O2 it's switched off. "
- CallerID_FRA.sa.CAB : "Installs the CallerID application from IA Style and the Photo Contacts extension. There are other programs that are able to provide this functionality but I use it."
My note : it's buggy to heaven ! I deleted it, without problems.
By the way, does someone known a similar program ?
- MIDI.sa.CAB : "RingTone plugin player. Allow you to play back RingTones in the following formats: mid,3gp,mp4. Also seems to register the audio/midi MIME type for playback of midi files directly from Internet Explorer.
By default the XDA can play back only wav and wma audio files (AFAIK)"
- ClearVue233_FRA.sa.CAB : stuff that read .ppt and .pdf
- camerarc143_fra.sa.cab : "The camera application for taking pictures and recording videos. AFAIK there is currently no alternative to this one, you should leave it in your ROM."
- MMS16012_FRA.sa.CAB : "Installs the Arcsoft MMS application for composing and sending MMS messages."
- OrangeFR_AP_20040302.sa.CAB : still mysterious ...
- DIM_OrangeFRA.CAB : still mysterious ...
- CustomizeFRA_166117.CAB : Install the Orange specific software (mostly useless) and the Orange GPRS settings (resulting the "Action Engine" directory in Program Files). It can be deleted without problems.
- Version_AKU1_16600.sa.CAB : "Seems to only set the version number of the extended ROM in the registry."

Now we can discuss about the "still mysterious files". Guys with 1.72 Fra (not yet official), what files do you have in your extended rom ?
I attach the Extended Rom Unlocker.
I called the Customer Service of Orange France, asking directly for the 1.72 Fra version.
They said it will be ready in around two months from now (very, very approximately), and available for all.
I asked if I put myself another rom stuff before the official rom, does it cancel the waranty. Amazingly, the answer was that there isn't any warranty problem regardless of software (roms and others programs) installed or modified. They said "any software incident is rapidely resolvable on pdaphones, and granted for the warranty period".
Now, I begin to cross people on forums that already does have the 1.72 Fra but won't talk at all about it's origin nor share. Maybe one of them will offer, one day, their help to the community. Otherwise it's a little childish to post on forum "-Hey folks look what I have, the so-much-wanted version" then total silence ...

Il semblerait que plusieurs personnes détiennent la version française de la rom 1.72.
Il s’agit d'un upgrade majeur parmi les roms et la mise à contribution pour la communauté XDA me semble primordiale.
Merci ce celui qui en a une copie de me la transmettre (je la mettrai sur un ftp) ou de la partager directement avec la communauté en la postant sur le forum.

It seams that many people have the French version of the 1.72 rom.
It’s a very important rom upgrade that resolves many bugs and provides good performances.
If some on could share this rom , I would be pleased to post it on my ftp or this person could directly post it on the forum.

Can someone help me to install the xT9 Portuguese on a HTC TOUCH DUAL 16 key version ...
I tried several options and none works
I have tried hadding the Portugues Language pack i am not able to make it work cause the IME file hpd.5x4.Portuguese.kdb is for the 20 key layout...
When i install the cab the hardware keyboard starts working like the 20 key keyboard

on the registry of the touch dual i can see the PThdp.kdb ... but the file is on the windows device... anyone knows what type of file is this and how is it possible to edit .KDB files so that i can try to make a 12 key keyboard file ?

Design looks great , will change immediatly if you post it. But just one small question. I had problems with bluetooth starting not as it should. (I think I saw that you had same problem) Did you find a fix for it ???
Maybe you could usethe build Korand used in his 3.1 version (from official ROM), bluetooth seems to be working ok.

i have changed the commManager and i think thats ok now but i have tested just for 2 days and now i'm with ShadoW 2.0 TE for editing

It doesn't work. I test the original CE from Cloudyfa and after that yours, but none of them work. Can you please help me?? I'm sure you want this working, right?? I'm sure if u call to your voicemail or to TMN service num you have to use this. please help me!!
Also I found out a couple of bugs on the comm manager. In the Settings, if you press Bluetooth it goes to Wireless Lan settings. If you press Phone it goes to Bluetooth settings. If you press Wireless Lan and IP Phone it doesn't do anything.

I had to modified this key:
HKLM\Driver\Builtin\Ril
DWord:
“EnableDTMFSupport”
Value=0
Strangely by default it was 1, meaning that it was already enabled but it didn't work. After that I changed to 0, softreset and now works!!

Max when you are going to roll out an update to your rom??
Original CE is very unstable with the bluetooth and comm manager.
Can you put another comm manager, cause this one is a bit ugly and doesn't fit with the whole rom.

QWERTZsheng_s_keyboard_patch.cab
maybe there is something like that for italian keyboards...

hello everyone,
i REALLY need help with this one, i've trying to figure it out myself for the last 2 days and no help with the forum....
so, i have this touch pro bought in Italy with Italian hardware keyboard.
i installed an EnergyRom WWE so obviosly the keyboard's in English.
i installed ProFuze setup for keybiard and now works, THE ONLY PROBLEM is that the FN key won't work with the number keys to input special caracters, such as 2 for " instead of @ and so on...
please advise, I'm out of options,

se c'e' qualcuno che gia' ha avuto questo problema... la tastiera hardware del mio touch pro e' in italiano ma il ROM (EnergyRom) e' in inglese.... non riesco a far funzionare i simboli presenti sulla tastiera inseribili con il tasto FN

Original Dolby from LeEco (no ported version, or Magisk module, see below for guide to enable)

KNOWN BUGS
- Attempting to copy an URL on Chrome, will cause the crash of Chrome itself. A workaround is to copy the URL without clicking on it, so it has to be not selected before you long press to copy. I know it's hard to explain, so I will post some images or maybe a little video later.
- On the first opening of the messages app, it asks if you want to enable Smart Messages. If you choose to not enable, then the app opens, with a little banner that tell you again if you want to try the Smart Messages feature. If you close this banner, then the app will begin to be unstable, crashing in a random way. So, avoid to close that banner.

HOW TO ENABLE DOLBY
I used the original LeEco Dolby Atmos from latest 28s ROM, which guarantees the best audio quality.
To enable it, download Quickshortcutmaker from Play Store, then go to Security App-->Permissions-->Permissions-->Quickshortcutmaker, and enable permission to create shortcuts on default screen. Then, open Quickshortcutmaker, search Dolby activity, and create a shortcut to it, so Dolby will appear on the home screen. Open it, and enable.
ABOUT LOCATION SERVICES
I deleted the default chinese location services, to use the google services instead. This means that, on the first boot, location services will not work, because it requires first to configure Google. So, after the initial setup, open Play Store to add the Google Account, and after finished configuration, reboot the phone to get location services working.
HINTS
- On messages app settings, disable the delivery status option, to avoid loss of credit on your SIM.
- If you have issues with notifications, try to:
add the app having issues to automatic startup, on Security app;
lock the app on recent apps window;
on Security app-->Battery-->App battery saver, select the app, and check "No restrictions";
on developer settings, disable memory optimization, and reboot.
if still having problems, download Root Push Notifications Fixer, and set to 5 minutes.

This is an initial version, tomorrow I will try to integrate the stock LeEco Camera from 28s, and the global LeEco Remote Control.

Very good you played early. I am glad that the MIUI rom will be followed by more people on XDA because it is in my opinion the best rom in terms of personalization, functions and stability. I had already tried this version in the original version, before going back for too many Chinese applications installed. I'm curious to try it waiting for the update to version 8.1.4.
Bravissimo hai giocato d'anticipo. Sono contento che la rom MIUI venga seguita da più soggetti su XDA perché è secondo me la rom migliore in quanto a personalizzazione, funzioni e stabilità. Questa versione la avevo già provata in versione originale, per poi tornare indietro per le troppe applicazioni cinesi installate. Sono curioso di provarla aspettando l'aggiornamento alla versione 8.1.4.

In the settings, however, is version 7.12.28 and I find myself magisk that I did not have. What may have happened? If I had done a dirty flash I would have understood, but I deleted everything from twrp.
I've encountered a problem in the security app that does not scan for viruses. I tried to update, and then to remove the application, to version 2.1.2 but the problem remains.
Ho installato la versione attuale e dopo aver cancellato system, data, cache e dalvilk mi ritrovo il sistema esattamente come lo avevo lasciato, applicazioni installate, posizione delle icone, perfino il tema è rimasto uguale. Nelle impostazioni però risulta la versione 7.12.28 e mi ritrovo magisk che non avevo. Cosa può essere successo? Se avessi fatto un dirty flash lo avrei capito, ma ho cancellato tutto da twrp. Ho riscontrato un problema nella app sicurezza che non effettua la scansione antivirus. Ho provato ad aggiornare, e poi a rimuovere l'applicazione, alla versione 2.1.2 ma il problema rimane.

At the moment they seem to work, WhatsApp messages come to me even without having to open the application first.

ohh then this rom will rock ? only this single problem is irritated me but now i am happy that it is solved.
When connected to Bluetooth audio in car. Experienced a bootloop. Not sure if it was Bluetooth causing the problem or what.
Does the music app is in Chinese language?

Ho riscontrato un problema nella app sicurezza che non effettua la scansione antivirus. Ho provato ad aggiornare, e poi a rimuovere l'applicazione, alla versione 2.1.2 ma il problema rimane.

Oh, really strange, if you full wipe, then everything has to be erased (excluding the internal storage).
Don't know what happened, I suggest you to reflash TWRP recovery, maybe is not working correctly.
For the antivirus, it was not working even in the original 7.12.28 ROM, I will test 8.1.4 version as quickly as possible.
